Ok here is my problem. I had a waterdamage that toasted a small part of my screen and as it seems, maybe something else too.
After the waterdamage the phone made some kind of reset.
Now the display is locked and i dont know the correct pattern.
In Fastboot Flash Mode "Factory" reset doesn't reset the lockscreen.
And "Recovery" doesnt work at all it just says "Kein Befehl" witch is german for "no command"
Any suggestions/solutions on what i could try? or is my device now a few months after the end of the warranty dead?
Solved it myself
Fixed it myself. Here if someone lost soul in the future has the same problem.
1Ensure the device is powered off.
2Press and hold the Volume Down button for 3 seconds. While still holding the Volume Down button, press and release the Power button.
3From the "Boot Mode Selection Menu" screen, select Recovery. Note Utilize the Volume Down button to scroll through the menu options and the Volume Up button to select.
4From the "Android system recovery" screen, press and hold the Power button then press and release the Volume Up button to display the menu options.
5Select wipe data/factory reset.
6Note Utilize the Volume buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.
7Select Yes -- delete all user data.
8Note Allow several seconds for the factory data reset process to complete.
9Select reboot system now.

I had an issue with TomTom and had to do a factory reset on the device. I just thought I'd post the instructions for those who might need to perform this actions.
With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see a message on the screen. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset. Once the restore screen appears press Volume Up to restore the device to its factory settings or any other button to cancel. Once complete press Volume Up to reboot.

You could also go into the memory settings and tap on the "clear storage" tab then make sure the top option says "factory default" then type 1234 on the bottom, then tap ok, and it will do the exact same thing. This obviously will work only if your tp2 is responsive and not frozen.
I had an issue where my phone WOULD NOT (attempted MANY times) hard reset. (I had installed the "Slide2ShutdownPowerKeySetup_v1.1" and I suspect this may have been the issue -- although I certainly do not have proof of that.)
Here is the HARD RESET procedure that finally worked:
"Push and hold 'send' and 'end' key. Using your teeth, push and hold the 'reset' button with the stylus. Finally, push the power button. (all three need to be pressed down when you hit the power). The tri-color screen flashes, then a white screen gives the standard warning of the hard reset."

Thanks, that works perfect
verizon version the end and power key are the same....
I have tried hard resetting my phone, but I cant' get it to work. With the phone off, I hold the "volume down" key and press the power button. If i press the power and release quickly, nothing happens. If I hold it long enough for anything to happen, the phone just starts up normally. What am I doing wrong?
Also, If i reset the phone from the privacy menu, does it do the same thing as the above method?
no idea on the second question but try holding the volume up and down at the same time and then pressing the power button until it starts to boot. Continue holding down volume up and down and release the power button once it starts booting. Let us know if this did it for you.
I think you need to hold the volume control button (both Up & Down together) and the Power button until the Reboot screen appears.
Yea but none of the options will reset my phone...
My son was playing with the pattern lock and locked my phone, recovery using gmail username/pass don't work, so I need to hard reset it...
I've done the "delete all user data" and "delete cache data"
But it hasn't removed the lock... and I see my wallpaper is still the same...
Any other ideas... I am stuck with a $200 paper weight right now!!
Update: Fantastic!! Called Samsung, they said it's a bug and I need to send it in to be reflashed... hell no, back to the AT&T store I go... EXTREMELY dissapointed in AT&T / SAMSUNG.... It appears the standard Vibrant S can reset to factory settings!
Thanks,
Rich
Anyone have expierience with this issue?
When I go to power on my device from it being off it will always boot into the bootloader, unless I press volume down while pressing the power button.
The OS seems to compensate for it being pressed the entire time. But when I do press the Volume Up key the volume goes up all the way and then i can't press the sleep button until the phone goes to sleep due to inactivity.
It's not a ROM issue as I can't press the Volume UP key in the bootloader/CMW and I have tried clearing Data/Factory Reset and the problems still exist.
Any help would be great!
Thanks!
Sounds like you need to open up the phone and clean up the vol+ button.
I have a 7in. Trio Stealth G2. Its is stuck in a boot loop. Im currently waiting on the battery to die so I can try to hard reset that way, and to get to the Android recovery menu. The reset button on the back is completely useless at this point. Other than bouncing it off the wall im at the end of my rope. Tech support reps at Machspeed are anything but tech support. (they asked to walk me through the hard reset 3x)
Hi there,
From this thread I will quote the steps for reset: Trio Stealth G2 Hype frozen at boot logo
Hard Reset G2 – In the case of password lockouts or freezing, doing a hard reset on your android device could help you get back to the factory defaults. First you need to make sure your tablet is powered off. Hold down on the Volume + button and hold down the Power button at the same time. As soon as the tablet's screen turns on let go of the Power button but keep the Volume + button held down until you see a large Android in the center of the screen. At this point you will see a screen with boot options. Use the Volume – button to go down to Wipe Data Factory Reset and tap the Power button to select this option. On the next screen use the Volume – button again to go down to Yes and use the Power button to select. At this point it will be going through the wiping and resetting process. When it's done you will see the first screen you came to when you first started the setup. Just tap the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
Make sure tablet is powered off.
Hold down Volume + button and Power button at same time.
When screen comes on let go of Power button.
When the large Android shows on screen let go of Volume + button.
Use Volume – button to scroll to Wipe Data/ Factory Reset
Tap Power button to select.
Use Volume – button to scroll to Yes.
Tap Power button to select.
Tap Power button to select Reboot System Now.

Good luck
My DPM1081 wouldn't start beyong "CELLO Powered by Android" and was apparently doing nothing for a few hours. It had been getting slower and slower anyway so I decided to factory reset it.
I'm not quite sure of the sequence and would appreciate you telling me exactly whatr to press, for how long and what sequence to release. I somehow managed to get into the menu using the volume and power buttons.
The on screen instructions say to use vol up & down then power to select but the power button did nothing, the vol down moved the cursor and vol up selected the option.
I selected factory reset, it asked for confirmation on a long list of no's with a single yes in the middle, which I selected.
It said it was clearing data then returned to the menu and invited me to reboot which I did.
It is now sitting with "CELLO Powered by Android" apparently doing nothing.
What do I do now?
