I WHOLE formatted my Cherry Mobile Fuze Q390 (MT6582) with SP Flash Tool. Then I flashed the official firmware of this device with SP Flash Tool. I don't have any backups because I am reverting to stock. Now the phone works fine but it does NOT detect the SIM card. Also, the IMEI is shown as "INVALID" for both SIM slots when I input *#06#. When I try to fix IMEI from MTK Droid Tools it shows (ERROR : pttycmd1 device NOT found!). Also, MTK Droid Tools shows (Baseband V -----). I am sure the problem is that when I formatted the phone it wiped the NVRAM region too. So the device has no baseband or radio files right not and also the data/nvram/md folder has nothing in it. Although, WiFI still works perfectly except the annoying NVRAM Warning that I kept on seeing when ever that I wanted to connect to a network. Now the official firmware of Cherry Mobile Fuze Q390 does not contain any nvram.bin file. It does contain the BPLGU file but I can't seem to modify IMEI with SN Write Station, Maui META 3G, IMEI&SN Writer V1.5.3 and etc. I tried using the MTK Engineering mode mode also and tried to write it using the AT+ code but it keeps on saying failed to send command. Probably the SN Write Station, Maui META 3G, IMEI&SN Writer V1.5.3 and etc. only modify the IMEI when the baseband or radio files are already present on the phone. So I think the only way out for me is to flash a nvram.bin using SP Flash Tool or Flash nvram.bin+nvram.tar to MTK Droid Tools which I don't have. Any ideas whether I am on the track or not? If I am, then how can I get the IMEI back on my phone. As you people can see that I have tried a lot of things, so please suggest/advice accordingly and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try using another phone's nvram.bin, which is illegal and modify the IMEI with SN Write Station or any other tools to correspond with that of your phone.

1. check your baseband with mtkdroidtool if it null, you just only use flashtool format it (whole flash) and up rom again, your baseband will return, imei still null. Now you can use mtkdroidtool to re-write your imei,or use Imei & SN writer tool for hard imei.
2.if you still have baseband, just can not write imei throw mtkdroidtool -> just use Imei & SN writer, please install full driver for your mtk devices, include cdc driver

I've tried all the other software like the IMEInSe writer, the MauiMeta 3g, MTK droid tools... none of them worked. But the method mentioned above worked for me.... now there wasn't any NVRAM error in the wireless notification.... The simcard can register to the network as well... this is flawless...
just to share... CPU version showed by the software was MT6572, but if i boot it in factory mode, it tells me its MT6589... I do not know which one is the right one, but the above methods worked for me.... Samsung S4 Korean (clone 1:1) mediatek. running JB Android 4.2.2..
Thanks...:good::good::good:

[Q] Lenovo P780 - IMEI lost - need valid MPOB_001

Hello,
dumb as i am, i flashed a new Lenovo P780 with a ROM from needrom.com without making a backup first. Now i've lost the two IMEI-numbers, the Phone simply says the IMEI-numbers are invalid. One of the IMEI numbers is printed on the battery.
For all i know, the IMEI-numbers are stored in /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001.
Is there any way to write a valid MPOB_001, so the Phone recognises a valid IMEI-number?
I already tried various solutions on the rooted Phone:
MobileUncle MTK Tools says AT commandline failed,
tried to echo a new IMEI via Terminal Emulator failed,
MTKdroidTools doesn't recognise the Phone,
various IMEI Generators for MTK 65xx i found in the net failed, alway gives an invalid MPOB_001 file.
As i said, the Phone is rooted, Processor is MTK 6589, and the Phone has two sim-slots, therefore two IMEI numbers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(sorry my bad english...)

There are so many reason to occur the issue you mentioned
1) Virus/ malware infection
2) Contact database corrupted
3) Due to 3rd party application which share your address book such as Viber, line ets..
4) Sim card contact memory location having issue with data filed
5) recently you imported contact complicating or address book limit exceeded
Simply you can reset the device and most probably fault will be fixed but before reset the phone make sure all contact backup to the your google account.
Hope this answer help you!

No permanent solution
It requires root. Also it's not permanent solution. After performing hard reset, imei are erased again. So give permanent solution.
I used Maui meta to recover my imei you guys could also try sn writer

I found a little thing that make that command failed; there's no space and no . (dot) within the command, so the command should be
AT+EGMR=1,7,"IMEI_1 NUMBER HERE"
that works with Lenovo A859

Thank you very much (an original author and you)! Really.
( AT+ EGMR=1,7,"IMEI_1 NUMBER HERE" worked for Phone 1 and AT+ EGMR=1,10,"IMEI_1+8 NUMBER HERE" for Phone 2 ( IMEI1 + 8 ) )
Btw, a command *#06# shows two same IMEIs, but SIMs and dialling works. Is that okay?
What happens when I dont have my imei number
What happens I.don't have my original imei number
Dailing the 06 thing says invalid IMEi
The sticker on which the IMEI.number was is so faded I cant make out jack.....
The box is gone
Hellpppppppp????

How to Fix Invalid IMEI Problem of a MediaTek Android Phone

Usually Invalid IMEI error occurs after you flash your MediaTek device. No need to worry as there is a simple fix for this issue. No need of root privileges on either method.
Method 1: (Works even if your phone a single error of Invalid IMEI or both if you have a dual sim)
1. Open dialpad and input *#06# (If a single sim is working you can see an IMEI and another is invalid, you can find invalid IMEI under battery of your phone)
2. Copy IMEI number.
3. If no sim is working you can find those numbers just below your phone battery.
4. Open mobile uncle, click engineer mode and chose android or mtk.
5. Go to connectivity, CDS Information, then radio information and chose the sim that isn't working, either one or two.
6. For sim 1 press phone 1, Click on AT+ on the top and type these AT+EGMR=1,7,"XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"..... Here "XX.....X" is your IMEI number. Type it (make sure its in quotes). Now click send then reboot.
7. If invalid sim is sim 2 then click phone 2 and type AT+EGMR=1,10,"XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" , click send then reboot.
Method 2:
Dial “* # * # 3646633 # * # * 2- then follow that path –> CDS info –> Radio info –> Phone1 (for the first imei) 3- at the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,7,”IMEI_1? (instead of IMEI_1 put your first imei number) 4- hit send command 5-if you done just reboot the phone, if you change the second imei go to step 2 and select “Phone2? 6-and enter the code “AT +EGMR=1,10,”IMEI_2? (instead of IMEI_2 put your second imei number) hit send command 7-reboot 8-Dail ” *#06#” Check Imei(onlyshow the first one)

Cds information didn't occur
I've got info for first time: "This command is not allowed in UserBuild" because my ERGO A500 add by himself this AT+ command without space
Then I made some research and it's important to add SPACE between AT and + so it must be AT + not just AT+ like exactly like @subodhpoudyal wrote above

The best tool for fixing Invalid IMEI in MTK devices is Maui META. Google it.
When it is installed connect your device (make sure you have the correct USB drivers and debugging enabled in developer options)
The tool works on your phone whilst the device is in META mode.
There are many guides online on how to use it,
It works better than anything else and it is incredibly user friendly,
Rumble_Fish
The Engineering mode method doesn't work on all phones. Tools like SN Writer, Maui Meta and hardware boxes / dongles (e.g Infinity CM2, Miracle box, NCK box etc) would prove more reliable. You can read up mod edit - blog links removed for many other methods
