Black Screen After Flashing MetroPCS .kdz - LG G Stylo Questions & Answers

So I have a MetroPCS LG G Stylo on the T-Mobile network running I guess 5.1.1 Marshmallow. I say "I guess" because I tried to unroot on 6.0 Marshmallow and ended up half way bricking it through LG Flash Tool when I tried to flash the MetroPCS lollipop .kdz. I don't know, but I booted the phone, and the screen is black. No boot animation, logo, nothing but black with a vibration after turning it on. The notification LED works fine and I can get incoming calls with no problem. The touchscreen is black and I can't interact with it, but the ringtone comes in fine. I'm worried now and don't want to have to replace my phone just yet. Is there any luck with it?

No. Remember, the screen is completely black, I cant use the phone, but it still functions because i can receive calls. and i tried lg bridge, but it was telling me to allow access through the phone, which i cant do

Use LG UP method

which means adb not enabled and computer not authorized.
power the phone off, press vol key up and plug usb cable to go to recovery screen, check if adb bridge detects the phone else use lg up to flash stock kdz

I got it fixed now everyone thanks to @viperdink . Thanks for yalls help though

Thanks for your reply but I don't think that works, cause the link you have me is how to root device.
It still restores the image, you can choose to root or not

Any luck fixing it ?
Kdz flashtool could solve the problem or using an usb.... U could leave the phone until the battery goes off and then recharge a little bit and try download mode again... the first method should work ... press the buttons correctly and connect the usb... working in 95%
same problem
tried the mentioned comments but still nothing for me.
PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you fix the problem OP

could you please explain what you did?
my lgg2 d801 simply boots into the LG logo screen and stays there til it dies.
I do not know too many technicalities when it comes to adb or ubuntu, in fact i dont even know if those programs go on the phone or the computer through usb..
simple clarifications would make the world of difference to me as my phone is useless now.
I can enter download mode using your "let phone die then try again method" but i dont know what to do from there..
Please help me restore my phone to the 4.4.2 kitkat i had previously
thannks in advance
d801 problems
I have a D801 that was rooted on 4.4.2, and I stupidly took the OTA update. I can still use my phone to make calls, but nothing associated with google works. The phone will not boot into download mode, there is no recovery and no fast boot. I have tried everything. It will no reroot or anything . Is there anything that I can do.

I can confirm that that method worked for my G2. Make sure you press and hold volume up then plug the phone in. Hold volume up till you see the small box saying its in download mode.
The nice thing about this method it doesn't wipe your data.
Make sure you have downloaded the most current drivers first though before you plug in your phone. Then go to options and update recovery.

It worked for you because your partitions were not messed up. I know the procedure for getting into download mode, I tell you that it no longer works. Volume up while plugging usb in now gets me a battery charging icon . When you have a rooted phone running 4.4.2 and apply OTA update, it screws the partitions up. I can still send and receive calls, just can't sign into google or use playstore .

I had a similar problem with my T-Mobile LG G2 where I was rooted and accepted an OTA. It broke root and I couldn't get IOroot or Stumproot to work. Went to flash a downgrade and found the phone wouldn't go into download mode. It was NOT bricked. I finally tried playing around with the LG Mobile Support Tool (B2CAppSetup.exe). Of course it detected that my phone already had the latest firmware from T-Mobile, but then I clicked Options>Upgrade Recovery.
It downloaded for a while then I noticed it had put my phone into download mode (it said "Rooted" in red letters at the bottom). Then it flashed the same firmware over and I immediately tested, it entered download mode right away. But I didn't end up needing that as Stumproot was able to brute force it now after the recovery flash.
Anyway, I couldn't find an answer anywhere else. Most results also have a bricked phone, but that wasn't my issue. This solved my problem and maybe it could work for others.

mine is not different, just corrupted. Even took it to a craigslist repairman. He said that he did not have the expertise to repair it. It can't be put in recovery, download or fastboot mode. It also can't be rerooted.
ill ready repaired one equal but need it "octoplus box sw" for it

Unlocking and Rooting AT&T LG V10 H900?

Has anyone looked into the at&T variant yet? I'm having troubles getting into the bootloader and into stock recovery. I want to unlock so I can test whether anything for the h901 works with the h900 ( and eventually get on stock 6.0. This DPI is driving me nuts). I've tried all the button combos I've read and could think of, and adb reboot bootloader just reboots back into Android. I don't think AT&T is pulling what Verizon is, since I have the 'OEM unlock' option in dev options. So, there's gotta be some way to do it... Hopefully we can get this guy figured out
T get to stock recovery I used a trick we had to use for the OUYA. I send an "Alt+Sysrq+i" command with a keyboard via OTG, on boot at the LG logo. Holding "alt+sysrq" then tap "i" 5 or 6 times and it will load into recovery. I was hoping once there I could do something like "adb/fastboot reboot booloader". But couldnt get adb to see the device. I think there is some auto repair script that's running, hard to tell since there is no feedback on the screen other then the recovery icon. But after 3-4 minutes it reboots goes through the "app upgrade dialog".
For the EOM unlock option, I noticed that it never does actually check in the box after you select "enable". Maybe look at the log cat and see if we can find some app/process messing with it?
Haven't opened the thing up yet, but maybe see if we can throw some commands at it while its in recovery via UART pins with serial to usb (bus pirate)?
I have successfully booted into download mode but unfortunately ADB and Fastboot dont work. I did also manage to get into the factory reset screen with the hard buttons. I am backing up my phone right now and gonna see if maybe it'll take me to recovery instead of actually wiping the whole device. Maybe even check if ADB works on the screen I will share my findings once I've made sure it won't harm anyones device doing this.
I just realised I have a fresh install on laptop and my ADB might be the older version cause it was downloaded from synaptics manager. I'll be home later this evening and ill mess around with it. I am downloading android SDK tools for Linux right now so lets hope thats what it was.

Download mode - power off device completely, hold down volume up and plug usb in to PC.
Factory Reset - power off device, hold down volume down, hold down power and let go of power button once LG logo comes on but hold volume down, it'll reboot twice I think and then take you to factory reset screen.

I have the same problem with my AT&T H900. I'm on 90009e and wanted 90010f. AT&T Tech support couldn't get it to upgrade either which I find very odd. We really need some phone mastermind to unlock the secrets of the AT&T LG V10 H900. I'm unable to get it into download mode or unlock the boot loader either.
Thanks,
Silver

Hmmm that's wiered because mine has stayed checked since I got the phone, although I don't t think it matters since it isn't unlocked. What's funny is i don't know why you can check it if bootloader is locked, I'm still lost on that one .

This has been asked and answered here
How to get into stock recovery
1) Enable USB dubugging
2) Plug phone into computer
3) Set USB connection type to MTP
-Now the "USB debugging connected" notification should appear.
4) Entering "sudo adb reboot recovery" into the terminal will reboot you into the stock recovery.
Note: Entering "sudo adb reboot bootloader" will only reboot your phone...
Using: at&t LG V10
Model Number: LG-H900
Android Version: 5.1.1
Build Number: LMY47V
Computer OS: Ubuntu 15.10
I was able to root an LG escape2 with this method. You can communicate and push files to your phone through the download mode without technically using adb. Any chance a method like this would work?

[Completed] Possibly fully bricked... Please help me

I have an LG Stylo from MetroPCS. I have first I rooted, then twrp, following the Katana custom rom. Exposed came pre-installed. I attempted to install it. Next came the time to reboot the phone via exposed. Unfortunately I have oem locked, forgetting to leaving it unlocked. When I clicked reboot, the phone turned off but never turned rebooted past the LG screen again. All it will do now is keep flashing something like a secure booting error. There are numbers on the top left side of the screen flashing. I tried using the hard keys but it didn't help. What I did was when I turned the phone on I held the power and volume down buttons and when I saw the LG screen, I quickly let go and held them in again. This got me to the phone asking me if I want a factory reset. Normally by choosing yes, the phone boots into twrp but in my case the phone went back to the flashing numbers LG screen. I tried connecting the phone to a computer but when I plugged the phone into the USB it wouldn't show in my computer, even when I installed LG drivers. If I cannot fix this phone, I will have to pay a lot of money. Can someone please let me know whether this phone can really be fixed?

You are going to have to get phone in download mode and use the LG flash tool to flash it back to factory. Look here for guidance, but be aware this is for a boost model.
Thank you very much for your help. I'm just scared that the phone won't respond to another computer but I'll try. But I have another issue. My LG is one that has the buttons on the bottom. The only way that I know of trying to get the phone into recovery mode is to do it like I described before. But my phone will not go into my twrp.

Help, bricked Moto G3

Hello guys, well while i was trying to upgrade my moto G3 to marshmallow using a factory recovery image, i messed up with some lines of the commands but i didnt noticed it until when i did the "adb reboot" and there was not turning back.
The phone didn´t restarted properly and also i can´t access the download mode neither the recovery mode, i already tried holding the power and volume down keys for a while but nothing. when i do so i can only hear that windows recognizes that a device it's connected and also that is has been disconnectd when i keep pressing.
Screen won't power up for any reason, and also no charging indicator showing up.
¿Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for you help!
I have heard of a one_click_unbrick file which could unbrick your device..although i hv never used it and i have no idea that it will work or not but if you want to try, it requies java on your pc then you can google for this file and instructions to use it..if you do use it do tell me whether it worked or not...and before you try anything ,be sure that you hav really bricked your device. Hope this helps
Sent from my MotoG3
AFAIK there is no unbrick tool for our G3rd yet, so don't mess with tools made for previous generations of Moto G. You better get it to RMA if you have warranty

lg stylo ms631 hardbricked and alternate hardbricked. need to fix this

i bricked one 2 years ago never found a solution and it definitely showed 9008 mode, this newer one i have now recently also bricked after going from kingroot to magisk and it failing to a bootloop (without recovery ability or fastboot, only download)
i then used fwul to pull all but 2 partitions off the phone and reflashed recovery and boot to the device in hopes that it would resolve the soft brick. i need the sms and mms from the phone, only reason i didnt just wipe and redo.
the phone does not show up as edl or 9008 or whatever it shows up as androidnet and lgup picks it up as an unknown devices but definitely shows it. fwul shows it as lg device but i cant mount nor can i do anything with it. if there is no battery in phone and i plug it in i get a flashing battery error/ no battery warning basically.
with battery in its black while plugged in, no response nothing just shows up on computer
now when i put battery in with it not plugged in and push power button i get a weak vibrate
if i do the same thing with any combo of up down or plugged in i get nothing
my other device had a high frequency sound when battery would go in very quiet tho. this one does not
any ideas would be amazing
thanks
ps i need the messages i have data and system dump. the phoner doesnt matter just the mms and sms
no encryption no passwords i think it was on 5.1.1
