Hi guys,
I tried to find out if something was already posted... but nothing came.
So I am looking for a good podcast reader which would enable me to download and manage my audio Podcast directly on my HTC HD2.
For the moment I am using YomoMedia, but it only alow to download/keep the last 20 Feed and sometimes I need to be able to have more. Plus it is not possible to listen to them directly in the application and because of that it is not possible to listen to them, one after the other without doing anything.
Thanks for your suggesiton.
Ulysses
I second that.
Since I've bought my Kaiser i've been looking for a good podcast app.
For me, it should have:
Podcast Playlist - I want do press "play" and it would play my new podcasts one after another, without stopping and without the need to go in the phone to play the next (a must to listen to podcasts while runnig, for example).
Automatic download - I should be able to scheduled download, for exemplo, every day at 08:00. It would also be nice if it has a funcion like "refresh whenever there is an available connection".
Also, I want one that will not only refresh but download the audio itself, so, if I want to listen to it later, I can, even without internet.
All the options I've tried have some or none of this, wich is kind of frustrating...
BeyondPod seems to be very good.
Automatically checks and downloads new podcasts (on program launch or in the background on a schedule).
Can configure to only download over WiFi, or 3G as well.
Can choose media player to play back podcasts (incl itegrated one)

I saw this in OpnMarket, but it misses the "playlist" function.
You can't play podcasts sequencially and without intervention...

That is exactly what I mean, thanks for the better formulation
I found a kind of work around...
You kann manage and download your podcast with YomoMedia. Then you will find them in the Normal HTC Sense Music player (in Library, Artist under the name of the podcast or Radio who produce the podacst, etc...)
Then you can play them one after the other using the Repeat function.
But of course it only work if you have several podcast produce by the same source... or maybe with the Genres (by me they are under Radio), etc...
It is not ideal... but better than nothing !

It is a good idea indeed, but the problem is that, when you listen to you podcasts regularly, most of the times you'll have only one episode of each.
What I'd really like is this.
I have podcasts feeds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Today, I have new episodes in 2, 4 and 5.
I want to just push "play" and listen to 2, 4 and 5, marking then automatically as "read".
Tomorrow I have new ones in 1, 2 (different from the day before) and 4. So I want to press play and, again, only listen to the new ones, without having to manually go to podcast 1, then 2, then 4...
I really like now the "SmartRSS Touch GR Edition" - great name eh?
It works online with a direct link to google reader where I have my RSS catalogue.
The Podcast section of this app is great - I can select if I want to download a podcast and then it keeps it in a separate folder. I don't know the limit, however, on how many. Give it a try.
Sorry guys, been searching and browsing but cannot find the answer to my question. I am coming back to WinMo after a couple years on Android and on Android there were market apps called iMusic, Music Tao, Music Online, etc. which would allow you to search for songs and stream them or download locally as MP3. Are there any similar apps that have both of these options?
There are programs that read torrentfiles, since providing illegal content is...well, illegal, I won't provide the name here, but I guarantee you that a simple google will do the trick
Also, if you're searching for 1 song, instead of an entire CD: prostopleer.com
Don't mind the Russian language, just fill in the title of the song in the searchbar, hit enter and press download.
--> If this is considered not allowed on this site, please just delete this post, or notify me and I will do so
Thanks for the response. I am open to free, or paid (alternatives to Amazon MP3 app), so I don't see why it would be a problem to share info on the apps that are out there.

Nanogroove in fact downloads the last heard song. You can find it in the root of the SDCard --> groovy.mp3. Just rename it and store it somewhere else. And voila you got the song you just streamed in quiet good quality (128/192kbps).
nanoGroove is amazing...my g0d..is all i can say
I like this russian site prostopleer dot com
seems to work on my hd2 but yes it's only in russian but it's easy to figure out. just type the name and search...
you can use SciLor's GrooveMobile v7 to stream music (not download)
found it here:
h**p://hd2apps.blogspot.com/2010/04/htc-hd2-apps-scilors-groovemobile-alpha.html
how do you use nano? i can't get anything to play or download on my hd2. do you have to go somewhere else to listen to the music it downloads ?

You always need the newest Version IMEDIATELY when it is released (at the moment 1.06) otherwise you wont be able to access grooveshark. Maybe you got an old one running....
I have both nanogroove and scilors groove mobile and scilors gm downloader.
Nanogroove is not a downloader but each song that is streamed is saved on the phone SD card as groovy.mp3. So I simply rename the file and voila, I have the mp3.
Scilor's is much better. Although the interface is bad imo. The streaming app is separate from the downloader. The downloader worked for me. I haven't used it in a while so I don't know if things have changed. search for Scilor's here or google.
Go to HD2 apps blog for the nanogroove. I am too lazy to post the links but if google gives you a bunch of hits just search for hd2apps on facebook.
Xda, ahh the place for answers, so here's my confusion.
I bought my surface when it came out (October, I think), and was hoping for free music, well as usual my wishes came truce, but how long do I get Xbox music for free. Is it a period of time or is it for life? I ask this because I went onto my Xbox and found that I needed to purchase a pass.
So Q.2 because the Xbox music is lacking some songs I tried adding some of my own, BUT the arse wipes at MS don't allow this so I want to know how to add music to my collection.
So, conclusion how long do I get Xbox music, and how do I add my own songs to my library.
P.S I may have more questions to ask so keep checking back to answer more!!!
Cheers fellas?

The ad supported version that you are using right now will be free forever, although the duration of streaming will be limited to 10 hours per month, after the first six months (april 2013). Note that there is some content that is not included in the free streaming package, these songs have to be bought and can only be previewed for 30 seconds.

You can't add music right from within the app. But you can add music files to your music library in file explorer:
1. Open File Explorer (Windows Button + E)
2. Copy/Cut the music files or folders you want to have
3. Go to the music library (on the left side in the navigation pane)
4. Paste your music there
If you go into the music app again your music will start to show up. Maybe you might have to restart the app.

Welllllll... The thing is: if you search, it automatically searches the store, but once it searches, tap on "all music" and change it to "my music". You can make it automatically go to your music when you open the app however: open Xbox Music, go to settings > preferences > when the app opens, open my music. Hope I answered your question!

If I helped, please hit thanks!

Cheers mate, I have a feeling we could of made this OS better ourselves!
@Smirny: Better way to add music to the built-in Music app: use Windows Explorer, right-click the Music library, select Properties, and hit the Add button to add the locations that you want to be indexed into your library. Libraries contain multiple locations on the filesystem, and do so without requiring duplicating the files (wasting storage) or moving files from where you (and your other software) expect them to be.
Does anyone else want a notification centre on RT devics?
NO? well I do!
to me it seems stupid not to have one, I sometimes hear the noise, but no visual effect.
having a place to go for viewing my most recent notifications would be ****ing sexy!
all I ask for is a notification archive! so guys tell me what you think
Cheers!
i remember some time ago there was an issue where google would replace some of your music with censored versions of the same song. Was just wondering if this was still an issue since i would like to give google music a chance
The thing with google music is although 1 million people upload Fiddy Cent - In da club, there is only 1 copy online and 1 million people listen to the same file. So when google analyses the audio and determines it to be fiddy - in da club, your file ceases to exist and is replaced with whichever central version it is. Thats why some music you upload is not as good quality as you expected.

using google music since it started in the us, and never had such a problem, also i habe many explicted songs (thanks hiphop!)
I'm trying to ditch my iPhone, but since I rely on iTunes this seemed impossible to accomplish until I discovered Google Play Music. So I uploaded all my 8,000 songs to the server, no issues.
I rely very heavily on playlists (I have 600+ playlists in iTunes). My playlists also uploaded, but they are blank!!!
When I go to the web player site, the playlists are all blank. And my Nexus 5 device playlists are also blank. Here's what's odd: the playlists on my Xperia Z1 are all full and in perfect order. What gives?!
I deleted my library from Google Play Music and deleted my playlists manually, one by one which was quite painful, and uploaded everything again same result.
Anyone run into this issue or have helpful suggestions? I have already tried everything Google support suggested to no vail, so I turn to the experts
I'm having the same exact problem. Which OS are you running? It might have something to do with that. I'm using a Mac running OSX Mavericks. I hope someone can find a solution. Other research I have done suggests this problem has been occurring for quite some time. If you refer to my link below it shows a similar thread dating from years past. Some of the replies mention the same problem. Unfortunately for now they all seem to be a dead end.

Very interesting, that post was created almost two years ago and still no fix?! How typical of Google, let's just push out semi finished work, and then ignore reported bugs...

I *think* you can re-upload using 'playlists' rather than folder...have you tried that?
Hmm, you can "upload" playlists? I always thought they have to be created manually....

Well...they have to match the collection format in both locations, or they're invalid. Still...try to import Google Music playlists to iTunes and watch all hell break loose. Thankfully i have managed to avoid that abomination bloatware and never bought or owned anything Apple.

When you say they have to match the collection format, what exactly do you mean? Is there anyway to verify if the formats are matched or mismatched? Obviously my guess is they are somehow mismatched if it isn't working properly. Do you have any suggestions?

You have to open a playlist file in Notepad and look at the path. A good playlist editor will allow you to save the playlist file as 'relative'.

Google Play Music iTunes Empty or Blank Playlist Issue Fixed!
Alright, So after a stroke of luck, I've managed to solve the blank playlist issue, at least on my device (2010 Macbook Pro running OSX Mavericks)
The steps are not complicated, there are just a lot of them, also scroll to the bottom to see a short cut that might work before going through all the steps.
The apps I used:
AppCleaner
Can be found here: http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/
or here: http://download.cnet.com/AppCleaner/3000-2248_4-10867510.html
(watch out for CNET's bloatware, do the custom installation of their downloader and un-click all the add-ons)
So here's what I did:
**Deleted all of my iTunes playlists from Google Play Music using the Web Browser Interface
**Exited out of Google Play Music Manager and used AppCleaner to search for and move all the related files to the trash
(Related files being):
MusicManager app located at /Applications/MusicManager.app
com.google.musicmanager.plist located at ~/Library/Preferences/com.google.musicmanager.plist
MusicManger folder located at ~/Library/Logs/MusicManager
**Note, it might be hard to delete the app if it is still in use for some reason, to delete it use the "Secure Empty Trash" in the finder menu**
***Reboot the Computer***
***Before attempting the following steps involving iTunes files, it is important to know that this will reset your iTunes and all devices linked to it. More information can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1451
Go into the iTunes music folder on your computer (iTunes must be closed):
**Take the iTunes Music Library.xml and put it on your desktop, put the iTunes Library.itl in the trash (do not get these confused!)
**Reopen iTunes (all of your playlists will be gone, most of your music will be gone), and import the iTunes Music Library.xml back into iTunes using the Import Playlist Feature
**Let iTunes do its thing, this could take a while depending on how much music you have
***Finally, reinstall Google Play Music manager, select the iTunes music folder (or where ever you keep your music) and Voila! your playlists should sync when google play music finishes uploading your library. Uploading should only take a few hours or less since Music Manager is just verifying songs instead of uploading them.
Possible, Unverified Shortcut:
I realize the above steps are long, but after completing them everything worked again. If I had to guess, the source of the problem lies in one of two spots, the com.google.musicmanager.plist file, or the iTunes Music Library.xml file. If you don't feel up to completing all the steps above, I might suggest:
1.) Uninstall Google Play Music Manager, find and delete the com.google.musicmanager.plist file, then reinstall
2.) Exit out of Google Play Music Manager, complete the iTunes steps listed above, reopen Google Play Music Manger
3.) Try to complete the steps listed by wideasleep1 in the previous post
If you are running a windows computer, the steps should be similar (maybe some files in different locations), but uninstalling shouldn't be as complicated.
Sorry for writing a book, I hope this helps!!
