WHAT CAN THIS MEAN FOR THE FUTURE OF THE INTEL HEAD UNIT
https://ami.com/board-support-packages/
It looks like we should be able to get some code and kernel for android 6.0..now we just need to find someone to build a roms for us
food for thought can we do something like this for our intel units ...this could open some doors for us
http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/12...d-from-an-sd-card-on-rockchip-rk3288-devices/
wasn't necessary thinking Linux ubuntu only...but if you made bootloader look for a system on a sd card android,linux,windows,exc...you could have a dual boot system....this would be awesome it would make it easier to mod system files and experiment with different os and have the ability to pop out the sd card and be back to stock config if you didn't want to boot off sd card make an sd card to redirect boot loader back to internal system...or if bootloader can't find a os on sd make it default back to internal system. ..I think something like this would be one of the best things that could help speed up development and allow roms that were built for different partition sizes and systems become more Universal .
Anyone want to chime in
Can this be done

this can be the answer if can this be done with our head unit..... http://www.xda-developers.com/install-use-multirom-xdatv/
This app only works on selected devices. Check the list at the bottom of this description.
This application requires root and it is designed to be used by experienced "power users".
It is strongly recommended to read XDA thread before installing this app, you can find links at the bottom of this description.
MultiROM Manager can install or update MultiROM, it's recovery and kernels. It can also install Ubuntu Touch system-image based builds into MultiROM as a secondary ROM.
MultiROM is one-of-a-kind multi-boot mod for Android devices. It can boot any Android ROM as well as other systems like Ubuntu Touch. Besides booting from device's internal memory, MultiROM can boot from USB drive connected to the device via OTG cable. The main part of MultiROM is a boot manager, which appears every time your device starts and lets you choose ROM to boot. You can see how it looks on the left image below and in gallery. ROMs are installed and managed via modified TWRP recovery. You can use standard ZIP files to install secondary Android ROMs, daily prebuilt image files to install Ubuntu Touch and MultiROM even has its own installer system, which can be used to ship other Linux-based systems.
.Here's the deal... if we could dual boot another android os for head unit let just say rom from joying or other brand/manufacturer you could test rom see what works and what doesnt , modify rom ,extract apps from rom and if rom was better you could make rom you primary boot ..(i also believe we could add or mod the mcu part back in the rom).... and you would be able to test this all with out erasing you stock configuration or stock rom ....you would be able to test and develop new updates as they come out.. you could test with out erasing or wiping your system.. you could run Ubuntu ,Ubuntu touch or other more pc based os and still have the ability to reboot and be back in radio os android mode....and I think there is a fun factor here with experimenting and adding more function to the head unit
This is what XDA is all about right WHO 'S WITH ME:

Man can you use antutu for the specs.?
Factory boss from HotAudio statea that cpu-z is as showing erroneous information.
They have the same 2gb ram unit but it is rk3188 processor ... not Intel processor....they detected that cpu-z detects other processor.
He told me to try Antutu to get the correct information
By the way ... he finally said that he is noy engineer so .... just in case ...if you can run antutu to check what says.

Not sure what your asking for or how to do it

Wondering if you could extract the apk file from your app that displays vehicle information so MTCD users could test it on their head units.

I know there are new headunits with 2gb ram. All manufacturers have same units. Hotaudio guy THINKS that no CPU Intel.... still rockchip rk3188 but 2GB RAM.
He thinks Cpu-z software is giving erroneous information about the processor specs....but Antutu will give.mkre reliable information.

Not at all. Review images and other threads such as
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68800239&postcount=38
Note internal images with SOC module fitted with heatsink.
Possible Chinese offloading a now defunct intel module.

Again... FAKE.
Do you not realize how simple it is to report fake stuff on those screens? I don't even mean by the end user trying to prove they have something weird. I mean the MANUFACTURER THEMSELVES will screw with you. Presence of a HEAT SINK on the CPU means nothing, except that they installed a heat sink. This ALONE will cause a dramatic improvement in the unit's performance, thus "proving" that it is an "intel" CPU, when it actually is NOT.

how would you prove it does have 2GB of RAM?

Fake or not let's wait for benchmarks first before heated speculation.

Howto Flash the device:
Shutdown the Pad.
Then Press The Button on the Right site in front of the pad (there is only one?) and the Power Button at the Same Time.
Then the device will be flashable and the light will be blue i think.
Then you Put the USB-Cable in, install the driver which is also in the package.
Now you can open burntool.
Device10 should be green.
Now jo goto Settings, and set uboot, kernel,sys-dat, udat
uboot: u-boot.img
linux-kernel:zImage_cui
linux-sys:system.img
linux-udat:userdata.img
Press the FIRST button from the left site to confirm the settings
Now press Start and the device should be starting to flash....
However sometimes the board hangs after flashing and will not start directly dont worry. If everything doesnt help, do a reset.
So iam not responsible again, this was the way i used and it worked.
I thinks its impossible to brick the pad, because you can flash it every time again. (throu ENTER+Power button mode).

I am wondering the same thing too. I have vogue and I am very impress with the work of Myth Donut build. I just ordered a ZT180. I familiar with building linux kernel, mostly for servers and desktops, maybe if I can hack some stuffs if the original build is out somewhere. Is there a place where I can pickup some clues about this here?

I am interested in the ZT180, but I think I will hold out for the tegra 2 based android tablets I keep hearing about.
Thanks for the image. I tried to find the data sheets online but fail to find the main processors. I think they relabeled the chip. It is most likely from south korea. Same for the memory chip.
The RTL8201CT is the LAN chip:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/productsview.aspx?langid=1&pfid=13&level=5&conn=4&prodid=25
The two NAND flash chips are: HY5PS1G1631C FP-Y5

I have 2 Interesting Firmwares for the 180:
-Android
-WinCE.
Flashsoftware + uboot is included.
My firsttry will be run a little linux with usb + tft support to see the full hardware .....
Could we work together ?
Sry i dont get this Forumsoftware, sorry...

Yes. I got it thanks you for sharing.

However, should we do android instead? When done right, it is pretty good.

I'm looking to buy one of these, can someone give me a link as where to buy one from??
Well, it is confirmed that it is not a Cortex, which is Arm v7, but is an Arm 11, which is Arm V6. So it is like a superfast iPhone 2G.
http://www.slatedroid.com/showthrea...180-Specifications-Faking-Not-ARMv7-A8-Cortex!
It is still a nice platform to develop on though.
but not for $300...
[EDIT]
might as well cash in on a $150 GT78, and develop on that...
spam 5m delay is utterly moronic...
[/EDIT]
You're doing a great job!
I have one, but I can't use it because of the chinese firmware which I doesn't understand....
hope some of you can post an firmware vesion soon so I can start using my device.
respect for the ones who can make the roms!
This Package includes:
-Usb_Driver
-WinCE
-Android2.1
-burntool
http://www.multiupload.com/BV5BEUWJ1K
Again I need to say, that is (so far as i know) not the Official Firmware.
This Android really sucks, i dont like it, only use it for informationfinding.
Do somebody already have a SDK Connection to the pad (PC<-SDK->PAD)
I need to know howto make a adb connection possible.
Thanks

Is this Android 2.1 v1 (that came with the ZT-180) or something else?
I was curious as to what the device actually was.
From Hinagiku's prompting on QQ, I made threads on Slatedroid about the spec faking.
I am still unable to retrieve system files to actually further prove that thsiis indeed an ARM11 based processor. I have tried to use unyaffs on the system.img from my Linux partition. The system.img should be some variant of yaffs, as there's a file in the firmware pack that indicates that.
I was hoping to find out where and how JIT has been enabled, and possibly perform readelf on the libs.
Anyhow I really want a system dump.

Hi,
Have downloaded the firmware including the burntool but don't know what to do now.. above all, its in chinese..
Any help please.. btw the zt-180 is not recorgnized on otg or usb port with windows 7.. any ideas?

My Problem is now to get the SDK working, which usb port i have to use, to make a usb-sdk connection with the pad. The OTG Port isnt recognized in windows while Android is running, and i dont have a Cable to test USB to USB directly. Could that be possible? If anyone have the resources please test it, i need this information thanks

Hello good people, I will join Jour company, because I have the same problem with a very similar chinese product VooSoo V75 based on MStar CPU MSW8868. Did not manage to find anything valuable, or did not manage to extract any value from my findings in Google.
PC with vista can see ADB composite device, PDA Net also detects the device, but ADB shell can not see the device. here is the place I have stuck. the cause of all problems is my attempt to modify build.prop file and force the tablet to introduce as Samsung. Seems I touched something more then needed. I have a backup file of build.prop.
Please give some advice to moove from dead point.
Many thanks and Happy New Year.

What prep have you done? Anything else you got installed? Depending on the developer who makes the ROM/Kernal usually they add a 'How To' guide so thats all the info you need on how to flash unless your wanting somebody to email/IM you with help. Also the tablet will have limits, there are a few apps in the Play Store that can help in regards to transferring apps to SD (app name AppstoSD).
I'm willing to help you as it's always fun to start a new project

Flashing android Writst-watch or Live-boot from SD-card

Hi guys
I need to install a version of android on this wrist watch that has a IM client with OTR (off-the-record) plugin and i need to make the whole OS non-persistant so nothing gets saved.
Here's the specs
CPU / Memory / Operating System
MediaTek MT-6513 650MHz Dual Core Processor
DDR: 4GB ROM; 2GB RAM;
FREE 8GB MicroSD Card
Android 2.2 Froyo Operating System
If anyone can help me out i'm willing to compensate and make a donation. I have no knowledge of Flashing ROMS but im trying to impliment a kind of " Live-CD " approach so i can just add the IM client with the needed plugin and then re-flash the OS or just boot the new OS from SD-card
A wrist watch with those specs? Interesting, can you show a link or a pic?
If it is a MT6513, then it is *not* a dual core. The MT6313 is the same as the MT6573, but without the 3G modem.
Also, I do not understand what you mean with 'making it non-persistent'
Anyway, if it is a MT6513, I advise you to first use the MTK Droid tools to make a backup of the existing phone. Latest tool version (that I know of) is v2.3 here.
Other useful links are below. But please take care, if you make a mistake, you can brick the phone wrist-watch. And since I do not have a device like this, I can not precisely tell you what to do and what buttons to press, and I suspect neither do others.

Edit: Is this the phone we are talking about?

Yes that is the watch i am talking about also moneytoo has made a post about this such device however the reason i am asking again is due to the fact that i need it specifically to boot "live" so it doesnt save anything and i need to know how do i add my IM client to the OS before it goes "LIVE"
Also i cannot post in that forum as i am a new member.
In laymans terms,
I want to put a IM app on the watch/phone and then make a image of the OS like in linux and then every time from there on when the watch powers on its booting the OS from the SD-Card or from anywhere as long as its a live-distro.

[Q] Identifying and routing my mini android phone

Hi all,
Background:
I bought an android phone from Chinavasion. It is described as
Wholesale Waterproof Android Phone - Mini Android Phone From China
I cannot identify its device type which is why I am posting here. The play store identifies the phone as
Alps Ratech72_wet_rlk_lca
The phone has a MT6572 Dual Core 1GHz CPU and runs Android version 4.2.2.
I want to increase the ram of the phone. It is 256MB. I want to use virtual memory. I have a 2GB sdcard in the phone. I am planning to give it 512MB. Can I do this without rooting? If I have to root it, then how do I do so? I would prefer not to use an exploit.
Anyone any suggestions?
Pranav
Hiya,
I went around looking for some hints on this phone as well but didn't come up with anything.
I got my device yesterday and I understand your issue. I have no sollution for you but I do have a solid work-around to get some more app space which, I'm afraid, involves rooting.
Activate USB debugging, connect your device to a PC. Download and run Kingo Android Root and follow the instructions.
After that I "adb'ed" to make the phone choose the SD-Card as the default installing path. Run th following command with adb.
Code:
# adb shell pm set-install-location 2
For the apps that wouldn't move to the SD-Card, due to su issues, I moved manually with the app called Move app to SD card.
Grant the app root access to sort out the apps not willing to move by themselves.
With this sorted I now have 500 mb of apps installed on the SD-Card. I am running low on memory now due to some parts of the app still installs on the phone memory.
Not a real app2sd script but it certanly will get you some more apps installed!
Another hint: When I ordered the phone they said it supported 16 GB SD-Cards only but I'm running flawless with a 64 GB card!
I'd love to see a costum recovery (since I don't know chinese) and CM for this device, but since it's not a western phone I guess we'll have to settle with stock.
Hope this helps.
A few hours has gone by and without doing any backups I replaced some system apps and now I can bearly work the phone! Haha.. Thou shall not do this sort of thing after 2 h sleep.
Anyway, don't be afraid of doing what I wrote in the previous post, it worked just fine! I'm hoping you'll do it, it's the only way I can think of to get the system files back. :-S
Since there seem to be no one but you and me who have bought there phones..
edit: Sorted out my problem, got it running again! However, if you are going to root it, please do share the stock files! :-S

to use virtual memory you would have to root it and plus you cant get that much more ram with virtual memory, 256mb of ram on a 4.2.2 phone? i hope you got a good deal for it because 256mb will get you nowhere with nowadays google play apps updates hogging all the ram.
Some more info. Appearently the phone is also called "Nanex" and/or Z18 Mini Smartphone.. Maybe it's called different things in different regions?
Move to SD card SUCCESSFUL!
Im so glad there was this thread, it seems like nobody else knows about this awesome little phone!
I followed the instructions that "pingaan" posted and it worked! now i can install as many apps to SD card as i want, awesome!
I'm glad I could help.
I've been using this device for about a week now and I have to say that the stock rom is horrible! There are many flaws and no updates incoming, as far as I know.
Another disappinting thing is that the screen material is >VERY< easily scratched so DO NOT order this phone without screen protection.
I am going to order a new one cause I love that it's so small! It's even smaller than my old "dumbphone", but I don't see myself using stock rom. I'd rather not use the phone at all.
I'm going to try to compile a custom recovery and port a suitable CM11 rom to this device for proper usage.
Don't expect it any time soon, cause my days are normally filled up with family, house and work.
Regards.

everything about this phone is pretty good for the size, except the ram is so ridiculously small, i've tried to add virtual ram with link2sd and partitioned sd card, but apparently link2sd won't work without hacing the bootloader unlocked first, but i can't unlock the bootloader as it seems like there doesn't seem to be proper drivers for this phone.
if you are planning to do a custom rom on there, please let us know how when and how you managed to get the bootloader unlocked plz! :fingers-crossed:
Since I noticed the screen being easily scratched I ordered a new device from a different retailer, along with a plastic screen protection.
There is an interesting thing about this. The bootanimations are different and there's also a reboot option in the powermenu on the new.
Maybe the bootloader already is open? I mean, if you can change the power menu you need to alter the framework, right? The bootanimation is quite easy to change with root access however.
Have you checked the built-in recovery? There is actually an option for installing "update.zip"..
Do you have a proper app2sd script that I can try out on my old device?
Cheers...
Anyone have a backup of the ROM for ratech72_wet_rlk_lca ?? I plugged in a MTK Tool and I seem to have corrupted the system ;-( ... Didn't even get a chance to backup!

Anyone find a copy of the ROM I need it also?

T9 RK3318 Custom ROM

Hello, Do you know a custom rom compatible with the Box T9 RK3318 ? The stock rom is too ... Stock ^^ Thank you in advance.
searching too ;-)
I found a Android 9 Stock rom for the T9 64GB 4GB ram version of this box. Best way to upgrade it is by using a SDcard formatted in Fat32 and use the SD card using SD_Firmware_Tool_v146_eng_AndroidPC.zip and the firmware file name is 3318_9.0-TVBOX-Z2_0820.img Make the SD card with the program. Insert the SD card while the box has no power. Hold the button inside the AV port while holding it in. Plug in the power. Then release the button when you see the T9 boot logo come up and it will automatically program the TV box to version 9. The only issue I had was with playstore would not install the apps. But if you install them manually it would update them or using a phone or computer and pick what you want from playstore works it will download and install from there when you select the TV box. Also it will not connect to WIFI while plugged into Ethernet where as the 8.1 allowed both Ethernet and WIFI to be connected at the same time. I am currently searching for the Android 10 version.
Update:
This file is more updated. 3318_9.0-TVBOX-Z4_1025.img Then once its installed run the updater to get the next update to have the latest 9.0 installed.

hello, sorry for my English I live in France I would have a question about the box: TV T9 RK3318, 4gb / 64gb. the problem is that the time is desynchronized on restart and creates problems to connect to applications when the time is out of order, I tried everything changed the time zone to deactivate and entered the time Manual it goes out of order all the time . is there a custom version or a version 10?
As far as I know there is no Android 10 available for this TV box. If you want Android 10 time to buy a different Box other than a rockchip based one. As for the time resetting whenever the box is restarted this is normal it only resync when it connects to a time server on the internet. Not sure how you go about fixing that. There is no internal battery to keep time on it like a other devices would have.
Android 10 GSI ? Since the T9 was released on Android 9 and hence Treble compatible
yes no custom rom no Android 10, for now, even with an internal wifi connection sometimes she does not want to synchronize
Hello,
Before going further with this, if you wish to test those firmwares go ahead but you are the only responsible for your acts
I don't want any credits it's just to help ppl out, I was just testing the device myself.
I was also looking for a custom rom for the T9 Rk3318 but couldn't find one (in the box it was mentioned 3318 but when I opened the device in the mainboard it was saying rk3328 :/ )
I flashed some firmwares that I found (not custom) and finally bricked the box.
Then I did the testpoint and recovered it with two firmwares that I found in the link below that seems to be very compatible, all the credits goes to the owner.
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/PqyA/6YkwGagu9/ANDROID 10/
A95XR5_RK3318_Android10_2020-07-10 -- is working great
The one below I found it a bit slower but it also works
RK3318_DC_R1_AP6330_10_20200707.0137working
What doesn't work:
- original remote control
- display leds
...you can tell
You need a tool to flash them
-Rockship factory Tool
-Usb male to usb male cable (you can also find some videos on youtube to make one yourself)
you can find some instructions how to flash here:

This post helped me a lot, didn't have to search aimlessly and after flashing the a95xr5 rom its way better than the Z5 one the tvbox had before. It's still slow but man, compared to the old ROM its usable and not so damn sluggish. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

I've found an Android 11 ROM for this box, works amazingly well compared to the A95X and the sluggish T9 Z5 ROM. Here is a link to it:
RK3318_DC_HK1_COOL_AP6330_11_20210522.1453.zip
drive.google.com
WIFI works, only the front panel and infrared remote does not work. By the way, I flashed this ROM with an SD card because the USB cable I made was wonky and stopped flashing midway causing the box to not boot at all. It's simple, download the tool I've attached to this post and use it to either flash or just boot the img if you don't wanna flash it to eMMC (Haven't tested the SD Boot function myself but it should work)
This website also helped me a ton: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17597-csc-armbian-for-rk3318rk3328-tv-box-boards/
