i booted g900t firmware on g900v - Verizon Galaxy S 5 General

i booted g900t firmware on g900v

make sure to do a flashfire or twrp or safestrap back up first
data and cell connection issues and texts will not work
you may get better results by using ok3 firmware rooted and bootloader unlocked with twrp installed
this will work for bootloader locked and bootloader unlocked
you will not have root
i was on pb1 firmware rooted and bootloader unlocked
make sure flashfire is installed and updated and busybox is updated and supersu is installed and updated
then download dob1 firmware for s5 tmobile g900t on sammobile.com
then put it on your device then
open flashfire app and click flash firmware and select dob1 g900t firmware
then choose system and click checkmark
then click wipe and choose data/cache/dalvik and click checkmark
then click flash
if it doesnt boot, boot to recovery and click wipe data/cache

Umm your name is in one of the screenshots l33t.

True. May not want that info out there. If you don't care then that's your choice.

What network are you connecting to?
T-Mobile? If so, does your MMS and native video calling work? I ask this question because I have the G900V connected to MetroPCS with the stock Marshmallow firmware and those two things are the only things that do not work.
Does everything work?
This would be very helpful to those of us that have a Verizon Galaxy S5 on the T-mobile network.

Look at the op post data and cell and text don't work I am now and was when I wrote this guide on t-mobile network
I was just showing you in recent post that my Sim card works and Sim card was not the issue

Network as in data and cell and text was in and out from my best recollection barely ever working so not usable as a daily driver

I wonder if there's a way to take the G900V firmware and remove everything Verizon and replace it with everything T-mobile to build something that works. It's a shame that MMS and video calls is the only thing that stops this phone from being a great phone. I've honestly considered downgrading to my LG Stylo that I bought from MetroPCS before this S5 was given to me.

It might be possible on a rooted phone but definitely a possibility on a rooted and bootloader unlocked phone

[Q] Cannot Send Text Messages on new carrier

So here's my situation.
I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 I535 I have been using on Verizon's network for about 2 years. I am switching to a local carrier that shares towers with Verizon. I am trying to use my I535 on the local carrier. I got a SIM card from the local carrier, put that in my phone and I can make calls and receive text messages but not send them.
In order to attempt to resolve this issue I planned to Wipe the phone and put a custom ROM on to ensure that none of Verizon's software or settings is preventing the texting from working. Problem is I am running KitKat version 4.4.2 that has Verizon's bootloader lock.
I got the phone rooted via Towelroot and CW ROM Manager installed. (rebooted into recovery mode got the "Verizon found unauthorized software yada yada." Got the phone back to a "normal" state with 4.4.2 rooted.)
My questions are:
1. Do you think putting a custom ROM on the phone will resolve my ability to send text messages?
2. Texting works on these same towers using Verizon. Can the backend hardware at Verizon allow the phone to work properly, but not the local carrier? (I have verified Local carrier Galaxy S3 is a different model number)
3. Is it possible to overwrite the bootloader/rom via ODIN
4. Is it possible to brick a phone so bad that you cant even reload the default OS via ODIN

1. Sounds to me like it's not sim unlocked.
2. A custom rom may or may not work in this case, if your on the 4.4.2 OTA your limited to two current roms other than stock using safestrap, disregard the custom rom part
3. The bootloader is locked so once again your limited
4. And yes you could very well hard brick the phone while not doing something correctly

Thanks for the Reply
1. I called Verizon when I was planning to switch. They told me my phone is unlocked to use on any carrier. They also gave me the code '000000' if it isn't unlocked. I never received an error message or a place to put an unlock code when using the new SIM. Do you have a link I can reference to ensure that it is unlocked? I have done several searches and haven't found anything that works. There are several that say to type in secret code *#XXXX# but my phone just attempts to make a call and says "not a valid number". Any help is appreciated.
2. Are you saying that i would be able to put a custom ROM on like Jelly 'Beans' or Clean ROM? If yes, can you post a link for that as well? I have done some extensive searching and most of the results applied to phones that were pre 4.4.x release.

I honestly know nothing about sim unlocking. If it's on 4.3 or 4.4 and it took the OTA your very very limited to what roms you can flash.

[SM-G920R7] S6 Thread

My goal would be to install Cyanogenmod on my SM-G920R7, but haven't been able to find too much help. Any of the rooting methods that seem to work on rest of the S6 variants, doesn't seem to work on this one. There is no TWRP available that I know of.
I would really appreciate any possible help. Thanks in advance.
i have the same problem
I think that this version of the s6 (the cspire version) isn't widely available enough and no one has bothered to make a root for it - ive been searching for a long time and still haven't found anything
I'd like to at least be able to root this thing.. On 5.1.1 now.
I have a rooted cellphone of this version (I purchased it rooted), is there any workaround to unlock GSM/LTE bands on this device?
----
Edit... Okay, so I went back to fresh stock with SmartSwitch, then flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-zerofltespr and Unikernel-v9b-BOH1-920P-100815 via odin 3.10.7, and rooted again... any method to enable gsm on this device yet?

Yes, it was SM-G920R7... first, I flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-zerofltespr , then Unikernel-v9b-BOH1-920P-100815 , both via ODIN (you can google both files), note these files are NOT for r7 version (they're for sprint version *g920p*) but they'll root the phone.
I ended up getting rid of the phone as there's afaik no way to enable gsm on it

That's not true. I finally rooted that model and got TWRP installed, and followed the steps to get the Sprint Galaxy S4 domestic SIM unlocked. I finally got data and texting working last night, but I can't get calls to work for some reason on an AT&T SIM card. It even shows up at AT&T as my provider. AFIK it is now SIM unlocked, the only thing not working is calls like I said. I'm sooooo close to getting this working. I need people with this phone that are doing the same thing i'm doing! I only paid $50 for it! lol
Can u help me get mine unlocked , ive already rooted the phone.

Won't receive calls (straight to vmail) and when placing calls dialer says CALL ENDED immediatly after dialing.

I'm working on this too. So far I've got the same situation as you, Data works but no calls/text.
in a few weeks the person who wants me to unlock this phone for them is switching carriers and plans on buying a new phone to use until I can unlock the S6, so I'll have more time to mess with it then.
There's a few things I want to try, but I can't post links here (XDA rules).
One involves Rooting and using a service code to unlock the bands (google "TeamUSCellular GSM unlock S6")
The other also requires rooting and involves using "galaxy tools" to unlock the bands (not sure if this app works with marshmallow, though) (google "theandroidsoul how to sim unlock sprint galaxy S6")
My hopes are not high for getting this phone to work fully. I've also been trying to get custom ROMs to work, but I can't get the cell radio to work at all on custom ROMs. Even with the stock SM-G920R7 Kernel straight from the latest update .tar

Thanks for the suggestion, yeah I have tried galaxy tools (GT) to change the phone mode to LTE/GSM auto and tried different CSC values, and accessed the hidden menus through there. The sim unlock in GT asks for a code which I dont know, but the phone doesn't seem to be locked anyway since it doesn't care when I try different sim cards. Weird thing is the GT app doesn't work very well (most hidden menus not working) on the current rom i'm using but worked better on the stock cspire rom. Note, I tried using MSL 000000 in ##3282# data menu and it works but most the settings in there don't seem to be applicable to GSM networks.
Currently I'VE been messing with the build.prop file, also tried the CDMA to GSM flashable zip which edits the build.prop but nothing has gotten better. One time after editing the build.prop the phone would only turn on with a blank screen and vibrate every few seconds, that was SCARY. Also was planning on flashing other radio/modem but having trouble finding many of those files and pulling them from roms seems difficult to get the correct file to flash on odin.

I'm not sure you'll even be able to flash other models' modem..? I can't say I've ever tried.
Anyway, getting your hands on the firmware is easy. Just use SamFirm (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647)
To use it, just input the model number (SM-G920R7/R4/P/V/T/A) and the region code, then select "auto".
Region codes and model numbers:
C-Spire: ACG (SM-G920R7)
US-Cellular: USC (SM-G920R4)
Sprint: SPR (SM-G920P)
Verizon: VZW (Locked out from download, app can't download) (SM-G920V)
T-mobile: TMB (SM-G920T)
ATT: ATT (Locked out from download, app can't download) (SM-G920A)
This app downloads firmwares directly from Samsung servers, so the download is really fast and guaranteed to be perfect/stock.
**the SM-G920R7 is closest related to the SM-G920R4 (US Cellular) & SM-G920P (Sprint). The US Cellular one recently supports GSM Bands natively without any rooting/messing with hidden settings, so that's where i'd start. You may not even need the baseband/modem, just flash the rom? I'm not sure. Good luck dude It'd be awesome if you get it working
*** Also, make sure you have a backup of your EFS before messing with the modem. Apparently if you flash an incompatible modem you can erase/corrupt the EFS partition and lose your IMEI. Hell, make a FULL backup with TWRP, and make sure that backup is copied over to your computer before doing any flashing. You can't be too careful with this.
Haven't had any luck flashing stock firmware or modems from other models using Odin, errors with a security message or something, tried G920A and G920R4. Probably for the best I suppose. Flashing custom roms has not been a problem, even if the don't work properly. Wonder if there is a test mode or way to use logcat to see why calls don't proceed like normal. Never worked on going CDMA to GSM before, I always did CDMA to CDMA in the past.

place bok4 firmware on your device open flashfire
click flash firmware let it check md5

Thanks for such a quick reply. I had hopes of moving my Verizon S5 to Sprint.
I believe it's not a hardware limitation, but an imposed carrier limitation. The S5 has the hardware to accept most of, if not all current LTE and gsm/cdma bands.
You'd have to be able to get in contact with a Sprint CSR that can add your IMEI to their network, to allow access.
Spoilers though, most carriers don't like doing this. ((I think it's because they are trained to know that phones like the g900v don't have band rights in stock form, and don't understand there are people who can overcome these limitations))
If you've flashed only the system partition, then the reason cellular data doesn't work could quite possibly be because of Incorrect CSC settings.
Try flashing the Sprint CSC, or try modifying the VZW CSC features to better match those of the Sprint CSC. Wanam made a great app for that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.cscexpert
What's the point in this? If the phone has been activated for at least 6 months on a verizon plan, its unlocked. Just pop a sim in it

[UNLOCKED] SM-G935T / T-Mobile

Hi community,
A question for many of us in regards to 'unlocking' or "how to unlock" from our carriers, I have done a very simple and silly way to unlock my phone from T-Mobile.
I am currently under SM-G935U Firmware (4API3), coming from SM-G935T's 4APIA Firmware.
Follow these simple steps in order to unlock from your carrier.
***NOTE: THIS METHOD ONLY WORKS IN STOCK FIRMWARES. YOUR DEVICE WILL BREAK IF YOU TRY TO INSTALL UNDER A CUSTOM ROM***
1.- If you have previously installed a custom ROM (Echoe, Tekv2), say bye bye for now. Using Odin latest version (3.12.3), flash Stock Firmware '4APIA'. After set up enable developer options and USB Debugging.
2.- Download SM-G935U's official firmware from SamMobile or Samsung-Firmwares (Make sure you download the TMO region firmware)
3.- Create a new folder on your desktop, copy and paste BL & AP files from the SM-G935U firmware you just downloaded. From the SM-G935T stock firmware you downloaded, copy and paste CP & CSC_HOME files.
*Basically you will have BL/AP from G935U and CP/CSC_HOME from G935T*
4.- Flash these files through ODIN, but WARNING: After flashing your phone will reboot. Go into recovery mode and wipe cache/data + wipe data.
5,- You will get to see a dm-verityverification failed, no mount blah blah blah. Just ignore it. After deleting cache and data reboot again into download mode...BUT THIS TIME ONLY FLASH CP file from G935T while the CSC_HOME you will flash now will be the official G935U file.
6.- After reboot, done.
I was able to install Google Voice
Sounds promising going to try this when I get home, was having all those issues with dm-verity.
Have you tried just wiping the cache and not wiping data with success? (Dirty flashing)
Or we all starting from scratch?
since root with eng kernel makes my phone burn up and kills my battery, even with all the remedies. The g935u is an option I would love to play with.
But how did you unlock the sim? You have the unlocked versions firmware so less bloat and no carrier garbage but the phone itself would appear to still be locked to TMO. Splain.
Hi there. This firmware is so much better than the stock TMO firmware, everything works excellent. I used stock tmo firmware first APIA, next tmo G935U API3 next. I tried your way first on a S7 Edge with bad IMEI and it wasn't working. I used another S7 Edge but this time I flash all the G935U API3 firmware, it work flawlessly with one simple try. Just put AP/BL/CP/CSC and flash with the latest Odin, you wouldn't have problems. My 2 other TMO S7 Edge are on stock G935U and saying official.
Hey can make a video like you did please.

Yes indeed it is. G935U feels great, faster response, no lag at all and for some reason I get 4G LTE even with Roaming (Mexico) I am still with T-Mobile...were you able to UNLOCK the SIM?

Hey bori,
Every time I flash a custom ROM or even going back to stock, I always wipe cache/data. It is just the way I like to do things on my phone, not keeping any traces from previous ROM/FIRMWARE.
Make sure you download the official Firmware from SamMobile or Samsung-Firmware.
I heard updato is a fast download Firmware site.

Well i tried last night but ended up with the same results. Goes perfect in Odin. But boots straight into recovery even though I wiped everything and reflashed cp and home csc from g935t files.

I'm not a big fan of stock roms, custom is the way but this TMO G935U FIRMWARE IS THE ****TTT !!!.
The last time I used a stock Rom was from HTC EVO 4G, after that was the Sprint S2 and I never USED ANY PHONES WITHOUT A CUSTOM ROM TILL NOW.
This TMO G935U FIRMWARE, I did a ANTUTU BENCHMARK LAST NIGHT after flashing the firmware. Mennn! The score was higher than the note 7 N9300 by 4000 points, I couldn't believe it. I did a second test samething. The battery performance is excellent.
All mine said was applied multi csc now I get lte+
Nah I didn't try to unlock it yet, I have to get an AT&T sim card or simple mobile card and see if it ask for codes. If that works that will be great for everyone ?.
Which U firmware are you guys flashing and what would be the differences between them? I'm currently on the T-Mobile U firmware.
tried this... asks code also ... but anycode can give message "network successfull".
BUT its not unlocked... still "invalid sim card inserted error" is there.
So this method works or not? I want to know before I take the plunge. Also Dm verity error doesn't sound good either. I had a note edge with that error and it was a major headache.

Hi all. As far as I can see, the U firmware unlocked the phone. I inserted a SIMPLE MOBILE CARD into my G935T running G935U firmware, the phone boot into like recovery mod but the screen go BLUE and it configures SIM UNLOCKED SYSTEM, then it reboot and walla the phone have service on SIMPLE MOBILE NETWORK. I was very SURPRISED it works because the phone is locked to T-Mobile and only the DEVICE APP to unlock it. So at this point I'm only using the G935U firmware on my G935T, no more T-Mobile firmware bull crap. Next I'll get an AT&T SIM card and try that for 30 days.

What steps did you take to get this to work?
No matter what I do I cannot get my phone to go into the Samsung sim unlock screen after flashing in various combinations, including following the OP exactly

I know this is a late response but it's good to know. SimpleMobile has been running under T-Mobile Network, whether your T-Mobile Phone is locked or unlocked it will work when a SimpleMobile Sim is inserted.
network unlock code????

No, that would 100% lead to a brick. If you're looking for a way to bypass the locked bootloader in order to flash TWRP, give up on that idea. There is no way around the locked bootloader on Verizon Samsung devices, many people have tried many, many, many different things, everything and anything you can possibly think of and absolutely nothing works. Flashing stuff isn't going to change that.

920v is a Verizon device, the Verizon stock firmware should have 4G LTE. What issues are you having? If you're on Verizon stock firmware and have a 4G LTE SIM inserted, you should be getting 4G service.
If you're using the device in a different country, you probably won't get the 4G working.
The only thing I can think of is, find out which 4G radio bands your service provider uses, them do some searching see which 920 firmware(s) support those 4G radio bands, then download the firmware and extract the modem.img from the firnware, then convert the modem.img into an Odin flashable .tar.md5 then flash the modem via Odin.

After flashing the stock firmware, have you tried booting to stock recovery and factory reset in recovery then wipe cache partition?
Check to verify that your IMEI still displays in system settings.

Take that phone back to basics. Hook it up to Kies and restore it back to factory OS, then go from there. Report back.

They already flashed back to stock via Odin, it did nothing.

I have done that, same result. Put it on Kies, phone revived. Can't really explain why kies worked where odin did not.
