Hardware Question (Original SHIELD Tablet/K1 compatability)? - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My daughter has an original SHIELD tablet. She somehow managed to take a chunk out of the micro USB charging port. In trying to fix that, I managed to mess up the board/tablet in other ways.
My question is: Can I buy a K1 with a cracked screen, and use its guts to repair my original SHIELD tablet?
Based on the screenshots I have seen, the motherboard "looks" to be the same on the 2 tablets, but I don't want to buy a tablet on Ebay, only to find out that my plan won't work.

It should but the board will be missing the sensor for the pen and unless you have the 16gb pyro you will be going to 16gb. The boards should be identical except for the pen sensor. And maybe the GPS chip

wife's tf101 broken

The motherboard is fried on her tf101. Does anyone have a broken tf101 to sell for cheap or is it even cost effective to replace the motherboard. I've already taken apart the device and removed the motherboard and power point where the charger connects to the motherboard, just need a new one. Thank you.
If you can find a use TF, maybe one with a broken screen.
I think it's better to buy a whole new TF vs buying a motherboard which would probably cost almost the same.

[Q] replace motherboard or swap screens?

Ok, ive given up hope of un bricking my tf300, and probably will never buy another asus product after this. My question is, should i replace the motherboard in mine, or put my screen and digitizer in another tab that i can buy for about the same price as a motherboard? Which would be the easier swap, and can someone like me without any special skills even accomplish this kind of thing? Oh yea thank u all for ur help in the past!!
Either is an easy fix, but I stole the digi/lcd combo and the TS board from my TWRP bricked 16GB to replace the cracked digi on a recently acquired 32GB model. I should be able to recoup some more from the non-logic board parts remaining, enough to more than make sense over buying a logic board alone. The battery, TS board, and good LCD alone might take care of it. If not, then maybe including all the little parts and cables inside will. Even if it is more effort to post and sell all that stuff, it should add up to more than selling a parts tablet with a broken digi and bricked logic board.
But then, I've had many tablets apart, and I'm decent at repairing them. Someone who has never had one apart might find either path daunting.
If doing the repairs yourself isn't a good option, you could always take the tablets to a cell phone repair shop, assuming there's one near you. Replacing the screen on a tablet is similar enough to a smartphone that they shouldn't have any problems. There's also a chance that they fix tablets anyway since they're kind of like big smartphones in the way they're assembled. And since you have your own parts, the repairs shouldn't be too expensive.

Replacement screen+digitizer

I was looking for a reputable, cheap, place to buy a replacement LCD+digitizer for my c6603 (black). I sat on it today and it totally broke. I have watched all of the repair videos -- so I am up-to-date on how to repair it. I just need to find a cheap screen replacement now so I can repair it.
Also, it was really awesome that I rooted the device and had usb mode enabled because it allowed me to use a VNC app to display the phone on my computer. That allowed me to still use the phone even with the screen broken.
FYI: I used a usb-otg and usb mouse to unlock the screen -- that was kind of a guessing game since the screen was so messed up I couldnt see anything... so I kinda had to guess where the mouse cursor was and just got lucky unlocking it so I could back it up.:good:
I dont really want to pay over $120 for the screen/digitizer, most places are $180+ but there are some that are cheaper. Just looking for some other opinions.
Thanks for the help!
You won't find any for that price.
The phone is still to new. It's not even that cheap on Ebay

Ok, so what is a reputable place I can get it then? And what price would I expect to pay?
Thanks!

Hi there, are you interested in a complete replacement for 160$ ? I have a black complete frame with battery, coax cable, back cover, screen+digitizer. You will just have to insert in it your motherboard and the two cameras. Tell me if you want to buy it. We'll do the transaction either on ebay or via paypal.

[Q] Tabeo 2 BROKEN!

So I have been doing phone and tablet repairs for a while and my children both have a tabeo 2. Now my son has broken the digitizer on his tabeo and I figured ill just order a new one and get this fixed in a jiff, WRONG! Seems to be near impossible to find a digitizer for this as well as a non working unit with a digitzer intact. Does anyone know where I may be able to find a digitizer for this device? Its actually an Archos tablet model# AC80CP2. However google does not pull up anything for it and I've checked with many electronics suppliers to find the part and no luck. The digitizer is manufactured by Raece and is model# F0425 KDX. 8" capacitive touch digitizer. Anyone know where I might be able to find something like this?

[Q] Samsung Galaxt Tab 2 10.1 Screen Replacement Help

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that I got from somebody to replace the cracked screen. This is not my first screen repair but it is my first time working with these Samsung tablets. I went out and bought a new screen for it which showed up in the mail damaged, so I contacted the seller and he sent a new one which was in good condition when it arrived. I went ahead and put it on the tablet with no problems. I turned the tablet on and it didn't work. I googled the problem and then I found out that there are different revisions of this screen. The screen that i had installed onto the tablet was a rev 0.2 and the one that arrived damaged was a rev 0.3. None of the screens work including the original but I think that is due to it being broken beyond use while I was removing it.
The original screen doesn't say what revision it is. The flex cable has MCF-101-0403-V3 ISU 1238 on the cable. Would this be a rev 0.0 cable? I am assuming that it is because there is no stated revision number on it.
I have found this item on ebay - http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Samsung-Gala...ablet_eReader_Accessories&hash=item5657a7329f
The ad says that it is universal and that it will work for all versions. Is this even possible? I want to make sure that it will work because it is quite expensive.
I really need to get this tablet fixed because the owner has waited a long time and I'm still no closer to fixing it.
Any replies or help will be extremely appreciated!

That is the one I used for my Galaxy Tab 2 from that same seller and it worked fine. Mine was p5113 Rev2
Did it have the pre-applied adhesive on the back side?
Replacing the LCD or the Digitiser
I have a p5113 and replacing the digitiser was fairly easy. You have to buy the parts with the tools included. I used the prying tools and a hair dryer(you may use a heat gun )to removing the digitiser. On the LCD you may have to unscrew. Be mindful to work in an area that is dust free and you are bound to have broken glass if the digitiser is being replaced. Take a look at eBay or Amazon for the replacement kits. They are pretty cheap to replace. Also take a look at YouTube videos for the replacement of the screen and digitiser.
