I got my Rooted LS996 ZV9 into bootloop (secure boot error) while trying to install xposed with flashfire!
Couldn't return back to normal (via LGUP needed ZV9 tot file for that which cant be found right now)
Update 1 :- All thanks to Alex_XV6700, and pelelademadera; Downloaded n Flashed ZV8 tot using LGUP tool over my rooted-unlocked stuck ZV9, then flashed ZV9 img rooted file over ZV8 using Jmd.Desai's bypass method to copy ZV9rooted img file to my phone memory via File Explorer launched via playstore itself (JMD.DESAI method below). The phone booted up. But then its stuck in the "Configuring your phone screen again" see the SS!

Update 2 :- The phone is now functional to some extent thanks to Jmd.Desai's step-by-step tutorial to bypass LG FRP lock screen. You need to have root access to allow disabling the LG Setup Wizard. That will after a few minutes bring your homescreen launcher option up
RECENT Apps not working, NOTIFICATIONS not working, SWIPE DOWN quick settings not working; phone actually becomes a Nokia3310.. . SS attached for current state!
Update 3 :- This is where my experiment worked! Restart the phone at least once so some settings settle down on system level. Download Shortcut Master (lite) and search for "user" via menu. Results will bring us a lot of options. We need to find the "com.google.android.setupwizard.user.WelcomeActivity" like in this SS - >
Launch this option and press Next or Okay whatever appears on the screen and the Wizard screen will close down!
Next scroll down and find "com.google.android.setupwizard.user.SetupCompleteActivity" like in this SS - >
Launch this option as well. And finish the LG Setup Wizard. Yes Niggah we're all set to roll our LS996 ZV9 rooted; ask me if you don't understand anything and please press thanks for everyone who helped me! :fingers-crossed::laugh:
P.S. Don't get rolling over me if you kill your device anywhere; I've tried to be as crystal clear as possible! Thank you everyone who participated in this war against terrorism (okay sorry) :silly:
you still have your rootedsystem.img in your internal storage?
LG becomes more ridiculous over the time, They couldn't even build a kdz file for one of their phones. Sorry man I hope you get a solution.
ZV8 tot method worked!

BINGO! Thanks to Alex_XV6700, (I love him! He's the bro) I flashed ZV8 tot posted here and the phone has booted! But I'm stuck on the activation screen right now LOL
Okay now I'm stuck on "Configuring your phone" screen after flashing.. Receiving calls but can't do anything else :-/
Screenshot in 1st post (OP)
clear data from recovery , reboot the phone ,
1] connect to wifi 1
2] connect to wifi 2 (just start hotspot from anywher, - the purpose is just to invoke connection optimizer)
3]next , next till configuring screen
4] When you are on configuring screen , after some time (may even take 30minutes) a dialog/message box of connection optimizer will pop up, scroll down on that and press "here". It will open chrome.
5] In chrome , press menu -> help and feedback->menu -> view in play store.
6]In play store open google (search) app and open it . Search for settings and open it .
7]In settings , goto apps -> find setup wizard , force stop and disable it.
At this point you have successfully bypassed configuring screen. Then on what you do next is up to you!!

All of this actually worked aside from the searching for SETTINGS, that I did with a Shortcut Maker App. But after force closing LGSetupWizard, there was no Disable option lighting and the phone came back to the same situation after I kept clicking BACK touch button! What am I doing wrong?
What i did was root the device and then via root disable app disabled setup wizard?

That will not work untill the system is actually activated not bypassed and idk how to do that !!
If you can anyhow find any option to factory reset from settings then it solves the problem. In other devices , new user acc. is created and factory reseted from there but that option is not available in gf2.

No multi-tasking, no notifications, like a wife who is mad at you for multiple reasons but is still living with you lololol
Now comes in more research work for me Haha but anyways thanks a lot bro! I'll give you credit for making my phone usable to some extent
Do let me know if you find something out for making it work fully in LGgf2

Oooh, looks interesting. I might download it and flash it, 3VO Custom ROM is fun but can be a little annoying.
On startup there's a windows popup that says:
Error
Run FILEOP
\windows\Menu_FILEOP_End.txt
failed.
Device is still responsive, but the popup remains and obstructs most of the screen.

Okay, so It seems my Maple is stuck on the "Customizing" screen for some time now. I left it alone for 10 minutes, and it continued on that screen. I rebooted the phone, and it loaded upto the Home Screen, and then loaded the "Customizing" screen again. Is there a way to bypass this? I swear it's stuck in a loop!
i've just reflashed the rom n i swear i dont get any error.
forgot to mention, pls make sure hardspl 1.19 is flashed on ur device n flashing thru microsd method is highly recommended. i dont guarantee if this rom will work on other mapl*** variation as my device is mapl110(snap 521).
p/s: and this rom support UC also. it will fire \Storage card\SDConfig.txt as last runCC process
to skip the error : hold home key until quicklist pop up. use trackball to select task manager & terminate runcc ("error") process. but the configuration will be incomplete.
thanks.
where to download. Finally a new chef!
Meh, still did the terminate trick, and everytime I reboot it wipes my data. Not fun.
Going to revert back to 3VO Custom ROM. Sorry monx.
Hey,
I have just gotten a SNAP
It's a Telstra SNAP S523
Under the battery it has MAPL130
Is this ROM compatible?
still trying to get my head around the many different SNAPs
do I use HardSPL v1.19?
thanks.

Possible to make this rom with FR keyboard?

Same problem. Cleared everything with MTTY as well as flashed from the SD card as recommended, but stuck in a continuous "customizing" loop. Pity, because it looked like quite a good ROM from what I could see.

yes something is wrong, when customizing and why it is looping is because it says in an error message \windows\sprite_backup.cab is not found.
but i dumped the rom and it is there, the abfile, so i dont know what the issue is, might be something wrong in the runcc.lua file? could you check this monx? i used to follow your raphael roms so i know you will be a real blessing for the maple users!
or if anyone knows how to fix this i would be glad i tried to copy a new sprite back up cab to the windows folder and reboot hoping it would "see" this cab but no luck, so i think the error lies somehow in the set up.
anyhow, you guys probably know more then me
i fixed it after once set up, i wait until i am sure its finiched, i lock the phone wait for sleep, unlock and now i see a error message. I install a task manager and terminate runcc error message disappers. Then i edited the runcc.lua file and deleted the last two files it tries to install cabs from, i just left the operator one(first one). You must then next time manually install the cabs, but they are in the windows folder so just do that and it should be fine
monx® I ask users on behalf of everyone for the ROM improvement, many persons would certainly like to throw your baking
thx
how can i download that rom... tried to register but didnt get a activation email... i would love to test that one on my snap

Thanks mate -
i really want to give it a try, but still i cant get my registration through, so i can download it... so how can i get it then?!?
Hello,
This ROM is based on Tim6a and www_apad_tv-ibex-Flytouch-3-Firmware-V8.
I started customizing Tim's 6a ROM for my own use, basically since I wanted to see all apps compatible with FT3 on Google Play and I wanted to use ADW Launcher. Now that my customization is complete, I wanted to share it with the xda-developers community
The ROM is built to mimic a Samsung Galaxy GIO device. This device has a much smaller screen but has an ARMv6 processor like the FT3. So all apps downloaded from Google Play should work, and with good performance since it will be the app's QVGA version. Gameloft games also recognize this device, so for example you can download and play Ice Age Village.
Credits go to Tim for his great custom ROM, Apad.tv for firmware-V8, Axlien for the build.prop ideas, chairshot215 for performance tweaks. Thank you guys!

I hope you enjoy this release!

INSTALLATION:
Unzip the contents of mod edit] to the root folder of your SDcard, and reboot FT3. When the installation is complete, don't forget to take out the SDcard and remove the installation files.
If Wi-fi is grayed out after installation, it means that your wifi card is not 0803 v1. (default) Try enabling old FT3 or 0803 v2 using Tim's scripts in Gscript Lite.
To view all apps on Google Play, follow these steps after installation:
1. Open Google Play, accept the upgrade and accept TOS.
2. Go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and select ALL tab.
3. Go to Google Play, clear cache and force stop (DO NOT CLEAR DATA)
4. Go to Google Services framework, clear data and force stop
5. Open Google Play, and you should get a server error. (This is normal)
6. Restart FT3 and all compatible apps should be visible on Google Play!

Hmmm.
I'm useing one of Tim's Roms... not sure wich one. The one where the screen is always dark. I tried dling your fixed stuff put it on my sd card it said it updated took out the sd card than turned it back on, but nothing had changed, everything was still the same? I have tryed the Power button+menu+front button to factory reset it, and still tims rom is still there with no changes. I just am at a loss now... really pissed to be honest. I cant even get the thing back to it's original original settings... I want to use your packet, any suggestions?
Anyone? I have just about tried everything and I'm on my last leg. I'm about ready to just rip the case open and K.O. the battery~
Hi billypaul69,
On my FT3, I just push menu+power to do a factory reset. Perhaps you could try that button combination to do a factory reset.
About flashing my ROM: Apparently the update somehow did not complete for you. I suggest you check out this excellent video tutorial from Axlien to flash a ROM to FT3, and see if it helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7xdpnoHLeg
Make sure you don't turn off your device, before you see the following message on the screen:
Updating system firmware completed.
Please shutdown your device and remove the installation card!
Automatic shutdown in 1 minute.
Click to collapse
If you see any other messages such as "not complete", "wrong system file" etc. and not the one above, please report them here. It's possible that either the .zip file you downloaded got somehow corrupted or the SDcard you are using for the update is faulty. In that case try re-downloading TolgaMOD, or formatting your SDcard and try again.
I hope that my suggestions work for you! Thanks for checking out my ROM!
Regards,
Tolga
Thanks soo much i'm going to try all the steps asap.

Hi
I just installed your new rom file and everything went Ok. The only problem is that my wifi network is not working. I can activate the wifi but it cannot find any network.
I tried using gscript to install on of the wifi patches but I get the following error message
"stderrermission denide" when I run the script.
Any idea as to why this is happening ? Apart from that, you rom is very snappy in operation.
Hi jammertn,
I'm glad you like the speed of my ROM, that was one of my goals indeed. I'm pretty sure one of the wifi scripts will correct the problem. For example my tablet's wifi works with the "old FT3" fix.
The reason you are getting the "permission denied" error is because gscript was not given superuser permissions.
The first time you run gscript, there should be a pop-up screen from superuser application asking for root rights. You should select "Allow" on this window. If you don't allow it or deny root access, the scripts won't work. If you denied root access and selected "remember" the first time, please launch superuser application from the app drawer and change the status of Gscript Lite to "Allow".
Since you have wifi not grayed out I guess your wifi is 0803 v2. Please try running the "Wifi fix:0803 version2" script and then reboot your tablet.
I hope that helps!
Hi and thanks for the quick reply.
From where do I launch superuser?
Click the middle button (the one with white squares) on the dock, you will have access to all installed apps including superuser.
OK I found the application.
One more question, Something happened and now gscript only sees 3 scripts. How can I make it show all the scripts like before.
Excuse all my dumb questions but I'm new at this.
No problem mate, I think the best way is to simply re-install the ROM You can backup your current apps with Titanium Backup.
Nice, thanks a million
I got it working now.
I'll be watching this thread closely.
Keep up to great work
Yay! I'm glad it worked, c ya around.
Hi Tolga
Is there anyway to activate bluetooth on this tablet? I tried using the gscript but cannnot get is to work. Any ideas ?
Hi jammertn,
This tablet doesn't have a bluetooth chip onboard. Tim's scripts are for driving usb bluetooth dongles. I'm not sure which ones work, but maybe the thread below could have more info.
http://www.apad.tv/apadforum/showthread.php?1358-Flytouch-3-Bluetooth-USB-dongle-testing-thread
Hi Tolga
Thanks for the reply, I have seen that thread but it does not have have any useful info in it. I tried it with an external usb/bluetootyh dongle but still no operation.
Hi,
I ran a quick web search and I haven't seen anyone successfully making a USB bluetooth dongle work on FT3. I think Tim included some kernel modules with the firmware for devs and testing purposes. So please don't assume it will work when you simply plug in any USB BT dongle.
Here's the support thread for Tim6a, there might be more info there:
http://www.apad.tv/apadforum/showthread.php?416-Flytouch-3-Hybrid-ROM-(rooted)&highlight=bluetooth
I think I have a USB BT dongle somewhere, I will take a look if I can find it
Regards,
Tolga
has this been posted on Apad.tv or tested on the iBex Flytouch 3 by people on there?
Do you mean if this ROM has been tested or if USB bluetooth dongle has been tested? I'm pretty sure TolgaMOD runs on Ibex Flytouch 3, since it's basically a modified version of Tim6a.
Here is my ROM's thread on apad.tv:

Hi,
Thanks for the tutorial. I also own a G700 and with some of you help, I managed to root it, remove chinese apps and install Google Apps, thanks! :good:
But there is one problem: When I have WiFi enabled and for some reason my Wifi disconnects (for example I go out of reach), my phone keeps asking me, each and every time, if it's allowed to use Mobile Data. It says:
Data connection change
WLAN is unavailable, try to connect to mobile network?
Do you also get this message? If so, how to disable it?
Thanks

Ok, Thanks. Do you have a solution?
If not, do you speak Russian? Can you ask at 4PDA.ru?
It seems that this behavior is present in all recent Chinese ROMs from Huawei and there is no way to disable it. However, I found a workaround for it; The message only popsup if you have WiFi and Data Enabled and you lose WiFi connectivity. Then your phone will ask if it's allowed to switch from WiFi to Data. So, if you make sure WiFi is disabled before switching to Data, it will not ask this question. To do so manually, takes a lot of time. Luckily there is an app that can automate this task for you. Here's how:
Install the app 'Llama' from the Market (Free) and create these two events:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The 1 second delay is necessary, else it does not work properly.
What it does: Switch off WiFi as soon WiFi disconnects from your WiFi network and then enables Data. This way, it does not show the popup and 'automatically' switch to Data. Don't forget to manually enable WiFi again if you are in reach again of your WiFi network.
If you want Llama to automatically turn back WiFi on as soon you get home/in reach of your WiFi, you have to let it learn your location. Read the help/documentention on how to do so. It's pretty easy to do
This 'fix' works for me 9 out 10 times. Give it a try, I hope it helps you.
Kind regards.
Can somebody post link for stock recovery for G700? ON 4pda is is there but I cannot register there due to security code check, which has russian letters...
regards

2 Press and hold the volume up and down keys, then press the power button.
3 after coming off the boot screen, release the power button and continue holding the volume down key until you see the update interface, then release the volume up and down. The update process takes about two minutes.
thanks to 4pda users and their experiments (and sometime..experience) :highfive:

Hello. Can you anybody tell me where I find the official or a good ROM for this phone?
I bought this phone from China and don't boot. Also the phone isn't seen by the calculator so I can' t use Odin to flash it.
How I can flash the phone with the ROM?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Hi, I am compiling this guide for rooting the verizon variant. I also hope to fill in some gaps in the other guides.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS YOU MAY CAUSE OR ENCOUNTER
I did not develop this, I'm only telling you how to do it.
Verizon S7 / S7 Edge [Root Guide] SM-G930V SM-G935V
This worked for me on the June Security patch!
Needed tools:
Mod edit: DevHost links removed
SUPER SU (Note Use this one, Play store varient may cause issues)
**THIS WILL NOT FACTORY RESET THE PHONE... BUT BACKUP JUST INCASE**
Flashing the ENG BOOT:
Open Odin
Put S7 in Download Mode(shut of phone then; hold: power, home, volume down; Then press volume up to enter downlod mode)
In Odin click the AP button and select the TAR: SM-G930 ENG BOOT Or SM-G935 ENG BOOT
check the AP check box
Flash the AP TAR
**THIS TOOK ONLY 5 SECONDS TO FLASH FOR ME THEN IT REBOOTED**
INSTALLING ROOT ACCESS:
Unzip the SuperSU zip file into a folder(For me C:\rootS7 )
Next download & unzip the tools.zip attached this is just the adb tools(Took me forever to find just these )
Move adb.exe and both DLL in tools.zip into your folder... ie C:\rootS7
Enable USB Debugging in developer options on Phone.
Connect phone and double click root.bat in your folder.
Once finished your phone will reboot
Congrats you have ROOT!!!

Troubleshooting:
Wifi Password lost on reboot:
Open /system/build.prop
Change ro.securestorage.support to false
reboot
Odin won't Flash right:
Check that you are in download mode
If you are Factory reset then try again.
Phone is running hot:
I have not found an official solution: But you can try coolify or cpuset
Thanks!
Was the overheating issues solved from doing a FDR after the Odin flash? That's what I've read in other posts but wanted to double-check that this was the fix on the Verizon variants.
There are also some things that you can include to fix some of the bugs.
I redid my current post to reflect some new information.
If you download some type of CPU or Kernel editor you can fix the slow/lag of the phone.
Thanks 2swizzle for mentioning this.
If you want to fix the lag/slowness download any CPU or Kernel Editor or changer.
This one works fine: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en
To fix the lag
Open up the APP
Go into the CPU settings
Set CPU Governor to ondemand
Apply on boot (You don't have to.)
You will notice that the phone runs fast as ever.
Will this process work on the Tracfone G930VL variant? I've heard that it's a variant of the Verizon model, but I'm not sure if the exact same process will work here.
Just did this myself. Root works fine, and I even got Xposed installed using FlashFire.
A few bugs, though:
1. The WiFi one (easily fixed)
2. A weird VoLTE icon in the status bar
3. Phone shows "Searching for Service" for a few minutes after reboot, even though service is already acquired and working while it's displaying this
4. And the biggest one: CPU governor is set to performance by default, which oddly enough causes the phone to lag like crazy and heat up to ridiculous temps. This is fixed by setting the CPU governor in Kernel Auditor, but still pretty annoying. Hopefully this can be more permanently fixed at some point.
Other than those few things, though, it's working well!

Sorry for the newbish question, but could you give me a step by step of how you installed xposed with flashfire? xD
This is great news, now all we need to do is get a way to enable samsung pay to still work while rooted.
Thanks to those who put a lot of time into finding a root method!

@Linooneguy In a perfect World Yes... Since the bootloader is locked it is nearly impossible to hard brick. Thus Give it a shot, worst comes to worst Factory reset. Good Luck:good:
BE SURE TO BACKUP
Setting the CPU governor to ondemand should fix both the lag and heat of the phone.

What I did:
1. Install Xposed APK
2. Flashed the following xposed framework with flashfire using the default settings.
3. Done
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24572330218881466
I found a link to that particular xposed version in another thread and it worked perfectly for me. Knox is still good and everything.
I followed the steps and ended up getting a pop-up that wants me to restart because of a security issue says dm-verity verification failed error in recovery, any work around i tried re-downloading and reflashing three times

Disable SecurityLogAgent to get rid of the warning. I also have a bug, I cannot seem to change from charging when connecting the usb to my computer. It was working fine before root, and I have tried starting completly over by flashing the original Verizon files in odin before rooting.
Glad to see root established though I like having Samsung Pay. Not sure I want to part with it just yet. Also, am I to understand one has to re-root upon every reboot?
Does the hotspot work ?

Anyone get past the "Searching for Service" issue?
I have to make a phone call to activate my phone after every reboot. Data always works but phone/sms doesn't.
Does everything work ok with the vr after rooting the device?

Hello,
I hope someone here is able to help me with this as I've searched Google for days now and haven't found anything that works. I have the S8+ (SM-G955W) and have been playing Pokemon Go since its release. After I received , downloaded and installed Android 8.0 update OTA however, this game no longer allows me to play it. When I open the game, I receive an error message "This device, OS, or software is not compatible with Pokemon Go". It worked perfectly before the Oreo update. This phone has never been modified in any way before; never rooted and uses stock firmware. It passes SafetyNet check with no problems.
Troubleshooting attempted:
I tried lowering my phone's resolution which allowed me to sign in successfully twice, but then the error persisted.
I uninstalled and re-installed the app countless times along with full reboots.
I attempted installing the game from the .apk file from apkmirrors however this does not fix the issue.
App is fully up to date, as is firmware.
It's strange because, as far as I can tell, many users play the game successfully on the S8+ as well as on Android 8.0. I can sign in successfully maybe once (if I'm lucky) after a fresh installation from the apk, but then after about 10 minutes, the app closes itself (App has to close error) then it gives me the Compatibility error once again following that. Please let me know what I can do, I am out of ideas.
Thank you

Hmm...well if that's what it takes, I'll do it. Could you tell me what the best method is to make a backup before I perform the factory reset? Preferably a method that backs up everything (including setting customization, all applications and their save data, etc. if possible)?
Uninstall old apps such as Xposed installer

hello
the only way I found is factory reset
if I restore smart switch backup, pokemon go fail again
just bought an S9 plus and pokemon go does not work on it. Says OS not supported.
Same here. It's start and after 30 sec kicking out... with that message using magisk
Update?
Any updates on this if the wipe actually fixes it permanently or temporarily? I have a SM-G955U1 directly from Samsung, unlocked but software built for Verizon from Samsung.
Hi vgplayer54,
I had the same problem with an Asus Zenfone2 with Android 5.0, This week I have changed my mobile phone to the new One Plus 6 and I'm still having the same issues. Did you solve the problem?
Thx
I found that the issue was app permissions were disabled for storage. Once enabled the app opens and functions correctly.
Apps -> Pokemon Go -> Permissions -> Storage ( if disabled enable)
Permissions for Camera, Contacts, Location, and Storage should all be enabled.

Reset didn't work I uninstalled the app reset the phone reinstalled the app made sure it had all of its permissions but mo it failed some error message.
