[Completed] Lenovo S6000 Restore from Nandroid Backup - XDA Assist

Hi there - at work we have a number of these Lenovo S6000 tablets. One of them has been returned to us with a weird error that keeps making it reboot at random times. Before I throw it out, I was going to have a go at wiping it and reflashing - just in case it is a software/OS error rather than hardware.
As I said, we have loads of these kicking around, so I've rooted a known good one using framaroot, made a Nandroid backup on an SD card using Online Nandroid Backup, but I can't restore it onto the target device (also rooted) as I don't have a custom recovery installed (neither TWRP or CWM are supported on the Lenovo S6000, apparently).
Is there a way to restore from the backup without going into recovery mode? Or, is there another custom recovery I can install that would support the S6000, does anyone know?
Many thanks in advance

[Completed] [Q] Nandroid restore help

Hello,
Need some help with a Nandroid restore. When I did the backup everything went fine, and now when I am trying to restore it, when it gets to /data it is taking forever.
I am using philz touch CWM recovery. Samsung Galaxy S5.
I started it yesterday and it is still going, it says 800/5575 mb, so it has a lot more to go... is this normal? is it really going to take a week to do a restore?
Hi,
Since you're stuck now anyway, I'd restart the phone in recovery, wipe system, data and cache and try restoring again. But it may just be corrupt. If you have another nandroid, try to restore it.
Other options are use another device with a micro SD card and put a rom, and gapps if needed on it and install the rom on your device.
Last option is to Odin flash stock firmware again.
If you want other ideas or need further help, please ask in this dedicated help thread for your device,

Thanks for the help! Do you know if wiping the system will get rid of the clockworkmod folder? that is where the nandroid backup is saved...
I may just flash a new rom again, with titanium I should be able to recover everything.
Copying to the other thread too. Thanks!
I'd let the experts who own your device answer that... I'd say no, it won't.... But I don't own your device, so I can't say for sure. ?

[Completed] hisense u971 rom backup

Hey,ive searched high and low but to no avail and hopefully you geniuses wud be able to help me wich will greatly be appreciated, ive rooted my phone the hisense u971 its the 4gig version bought in south africa software version: w1002.6.05.01.za00 with kernel version 3.4.0 on android 4.3 so the phone is rooted with towelroot and confirmed with rootchecker, bt before i do anything further i wud like to backup my official rom before messing things up as ive read and seen how hard it is to get hold of an official rom for these phones. Ive installed cwm rom manager bt whenn i select backup rom the phone reboots into recovery with a few options namely reboot, wipe and something about adb and install from sd bt no rom backup option so if anyone can point me into the right direction as to how i can backup my room i would appreciate it. Thanx
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist.
It seems to me that you don't really have a custom recovery. You should have more options with CWM or TWRP.

Thanx for your reply ill hv a look at the forum u suggested since the cwm i have installed has a TWRP option

[Completed] Questions about backup / restore feature on twrp recovery nandroid

Hi guys,
I've got 60 phones to setup, and that's just the biginning. I looked for some solutions to mass deploy them, the fastest way possible. I of course already know titanium backup and applications like that, but i would prefer not to root phone...
I was pretty confident about a nandroid backup : flashing the recovery of the phone is really quick, and i would just have to backup on card or on usb on the go on the master phone, and to restore the backup on all the phone remaining. But it didn't worked as expected, it happens that on each phone, twrp is generating backup in a folder named something like "420khg66g6cca200" and which is different on each phone, and when you put the card in another phone, this one doesn't see the main backup.
I of course tried to sneak arround and generate a backup on the second phone, which i replaced with the content of the first one, but the phone doesn't even boot anymore.
I used twrp because i dind't find another recovery avaiable for the phone, which is by the way a samsung Xcover 3 also known as SM-G388F.
I tried to backup only system, system image, and data and to restore it and the phones is stuck on boot screens.
I tried to backup again with boot partition, same thing happen'd. There's something i don't understand tho, there's some warning about /system partition which can't be mounted when i look around on the recovery of the slave phone.
I'm on stock rom, no root. I looked for similar post (really), but there's mostly guys which make backup / restore on the same phone, and i didn't find my answer.
My questions are : is there someone's who did this before ? Why the phone doesn't boot anymore ? Is there something that's making the backup unrecoverable on another phone ?
In this case, is there anyway to bypass that ?
Thank you by advance.

[Completed] Note 4 SM-910F

Alright, i messed up real good.
I bricked my note 4, i did root it no problems there
then i installed TWRP, and it all works just fine
but then i did the mistake (such a rookie mistake iknow) i haven't been flashing for a while and i forgot
i wiped the whole thing instead of just the cashe, with that being said i can still boot into the stock recovery and the TWRP recorvery but no system nor the backup i made because im a dummy
i cant really figure out what to do next, hope someone can provide a solution
Hello, and thanks for using XDA Assist.
What you should do in this situation (since you didn't make a backup first ~ always make a backup) is download a ROM onto your PC, transfer that ROM to your extSD card, then boot to TWRP and flash the ROM. That'll install an OS back to your device.
For future reference, there is a dedicated Note 4 help forum that you can post to, where members who own the Note 4 can give you expert advice with any other issues that may come up later in time.
Good luck!

[Completed] cubot x17 custom ROM help. ( stock ROM is full of bloatware/malware)

Hello all
I don't want to be that guy that makes one post and runs for the hills I actually want to be part of the community, unfortunately this current situation is driving me nuts, to the point where I just have to post.
You see I own a cubit x17 that features quite a lot of bloatware and malware that needs removing.
I have rooted my device using kingroot and even gone as far as to install TWRP. I have downloaded a custom ROM for my phone that is saved in my downloads.
The problem is I just can't figure out how to install it...... I've tried everything from using TWRP to manual booting (there's not a single install option on the manual boot screen) and as far as I know no SD card in the phone and I cant seem to find the download folder from the boot screen.
Please can somebody help before I pull the remaining hair I have left out.
