[Q] Custom android build -> can (custom) pre-installed app be an USER app ? - General Questions and Answers

Hi All,
I have a question regarding custom android build; pre-installed apps and USER app vs SYSTEM app.
A specific app needs to be an USER app but has to be pre-installed in this custom android build.
But from everything that I read this seems not possible, and can only work if it is an SYSTEM app. Is this correct?
This has been trown in my lap but I have very little experience with Android development. I'm hoping I can find the answer / useful feedback here.
Since I did not become wiser after searching for a while.
Thanks,
Thijs

Yes, you're right. Multiuser support is what you're talking about, and it is available from android version 4.2.2 and above. It is enabled on tablets by default. For phones, you would need to flash custom ROMs that have multiuser support. If you're not on 4.2.2+, then you could try the SwitchMe app on the Playstore instead (requires root).

Since I do not know much about your device, you should probably ask this question here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2100
You're bound to get a better answer that way!
P.S. When you ask in that forum, avoid using words like 'best rom' or 'stable rom'.

How to manage other users' apps from main user.

Ex,install,uninstall.
Questions belong in Q&A.
To answer your question: A separate user is a separate user. The entire point is to have them separate. You don't.
Any apps do that via root access ?
As far as I know, no. There's no way besides going on that user.
Apps installed using lucky patch will be available for all users.
[Guide] Multi User Setup for Kitkat 4.4.4 (for noobs)
Wait, there's no way to make apps installed as owner available for other user profiles?
Am I really supposed to reinstall all apps for all users again and again?
EDIT:
Posted a step-by-step guide to setup Multi User on the A10-70 running Kitkat 4.4.4 (should work on Lollipop or similar devices too).
Please help perfect it.

Looking for Custom Rom or App to manage rights granted to Apps.

Hey lads & lassies,
I am pretty new to this.
I am looking for either an App or Custom Rom to controll the rights given to apps.
I want to install some Apps that want the right to access each and everything on my phone (Xiaomi Inc.'s "MiHome"). It just doesn't need that.
I am also annoyed by the amount of rights other apps demand.
I know the old CyanogenMod added the possibility to deny certain rights to apps and still install them. I am looking for something like that.
If you need that data: I am using the
- Samsung Galaxy S8
- Model Number SM-G950F
- Android Version 7.0
- Build: NRD90M.G950FXXU1AQH3
Do know something out there that does that?
I am not yet rooted, but will do so a.s.a. I know that there is a App or Rom to solve this Problem.
Thank you for your help.

How to do Custom ROM development to add our own Android apk from our own appstore

Hi all,
We want to develop a Custom ROM for Android devices with the following requirements.
After successfully launching the OS, it will automatically run or specific application with its home screen.
We also need to create our own App store which will contains all collections of our apps. It can be downloaded and use on that tablet/device. We also want to remove or restrict restrict any installation from Google playstore.
Once new android version come then we can push it to the device as they are connected to our store.
Please let me know what is the best possible way to work on this scope?
Do we need to work directly on Android Source Code?
Is there any paid custom ROM available so that we can add these features and compile it and flash it on Android device?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
why you want a custom rom with such restrictions?
We have a requirement of a project from one of our potential client. He wants to develop is his own app store and also want to launch his own app as launcher. We have one such example like One of our ticketing company in Lahore Pakistan has and Android tablet, and we gone there for air ticket.*
The man powered ON the android tab and at the end the ticketing app launched automatically.*
So this is our first requirement how to do it and then we want to develop a custom app store for our client. Please let us know if anything is possible.
Thank you.
