I rebooted the phone cuz AdAway updated, and there was no more root when it booted. Went in recovery to install SuperSU (2.76 - magisk), it installs but still no root after boot. Any idea why?
I don't think it had to do with AdAway, but no other app ( root requiring app) updated since last reboot...
*bump*
Any1?

Guys I have rooted my Verizon Galaxy S3 several times using the various instructions from here and XDA. When I am done I have everything I need and have used root checker to verify that I do have root. Unlocked the bootloader and everything but when I go into recovery and do a reboot I no longer have root. What am I doing wrong?
Go to Google Play and download the superuser app should fix it

Hi assist team..
I want to root my phone, which is..
Model Number: SM-N900
Android Version: 4.4.2 (currently still using original update, and have KNOX)
Baseband Version: N900DXUDNC1
Kernel Version: 3.4.39-1185114 [email protected] #1 Mon Apr 14 19:33:46 KST 2014
Build Number: KOT49H.N900XXUDND1
SE for Android Status: Enforcing SEPF_SM-N900_4.4.2_0011
and I had look at this thread (i was using note 2 N7100 before, and always using CF AutoRoot by ChainFire too)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46098951&postcount=3
what I wanna ask is:
1.When I open knox app on the app list, it has "install" button, but in application manager there are some knox (com.sec.know.eventsmanager, KLMS agent, KNOX, Knox notification manager, and KNOX store).
is that mean i had my KNOX on? if yes, should I remove using Knox Removal?
or by uninstall in "about knox" in knox app (I read it in another thread about how to remove knox),
or can I just flash the CFAutoRoot and there gonna be an options to disable the knox (I forgot where I read about this..)?
2.I searched and read at that thread, some people using the same file and same way (I assume they use the correct way to root too) but some got success rooting their gadget, some got fail (like stuck in odin rooting process or bootloop, so they need to fix the firmware using samsung kies). so, is that normal to have like gambling outcome (if you lucky get success, and can be fail too)? Or, if I follow the instruction correctly, I won't get the chance to fail in rooting my SM-N900?
I already tried to read all over that thread to search this but no result in finding the cause of some people got fail even they used correct file and correct way. Thanks a lot for the help
Hi!
You've done your homework! Very good to see!
You have 8 posts under your belt....2 more and you can post in the thread you linked. That's the best place to ask those questions.
I suggest maybe browsing the Q&A section for your device and contribute a couple more constructive posts, or questions....then you're set to ask in that thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help
Or you can start start a thread in Q&A for your questions. Honestly, best to get to 10 posts and ask in the thread you linked tho.
Good luck!

I yesterday Flashed Cynogenm Mod 12.1 on my Asus Zenfone 5. This was the first time I ever flashed ROM on a device. My device runs fine but both of my sims are not detected!. Also, root access is not enabled even when I changed the root access to apps and ADB from developer options. Whenever I open SuperSU it says "There is not SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem! If you just upgraded to android 5.0 you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your devicce!" . I am in great trouble! please tell how can I switch back to my previous ROM or if the sim issue can be fixed. Please reply quick! Thanks!

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and there is no forum specifically for the Asus Zenfone 5 at this time but I suggest that you ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. I see a thread there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/asus-zenfone-5-zenfone-6-to-t2839984 that contains many links that might be of interest to you.
Good luck!
Hey Guys! So here's my problem today... You see my friend wanted a new ROM for his galaxy Y. And I, being a geek; accepted. Now when I flashed CWM, it worked fine at first but when I tried to reboot it at the CWM menu it says "Root access is missing. Root device. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE." and there are 2 options either "-No" or "Yes - Root device (/system/xbin.".. Now, no matter what I choose it still wont boot up completely and open CWM. How do I fix this??? I don't want to ruin my friends new phone!! HELP!
It's title is "CWM-based recovery V6.0.5.3"
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
You should be asking your question in the device specific forum or in the forum for the Rom you are using. In most Development sections of each device specific forum you will find a thread on recoveries you can also ask in there or in the Q&A section for the device.
XDA Assist is here to guide you and point you in the direction you need to go.
We do not provide solutions or guides. We are a Developers site for Developers. Users are required to search and research their information. Please make sure you read everything and truly understand it before attempting to alter your very expensive device, in this case your friends.
Thank you and good luck

P.S. I will tell you that you should have selected NO when it first asked you if the device was already rooted, which it must have been since you installed custom recovery.
I have a nexus 5 16 gb and i downloaded the recent software update android 6.0.1 and then I decieded to root and I used 'Nexus root toolkit v2.06' and first unlocked the bootloader and then rooted. Everything worked fine but after the process was complete it was rebooting and the booting animation went on and on for many hours and the device did not root. I really don't know what's going on. My purpose is to install a custom rom: cyanogenmod 12. Now wat should I do ???? PLEASE HELP.
