Guys I have rooted my Verizon Galaxy S3 several times using the various instructions from here and XDA. When I am done I have everything I need and have used root checker to verify that I do have root. Unlocked the bootloader and everything but when I go into recovery and do a reboot I no longer have root. What am I doing wrong?
Go to Google Play and download the superuser app should fix it

Any see the new update? If you have it and still have root please let me know if it works with voodoo OTA
I took the update (.29) yesterday and was able to restore root with Voodoo once it was done.
Same. Don't forget to reset your build.prop (if any) and reboot before you update, though.

Hey guys, is there a guide to unlock and root an s3 on the 4.1.1 official update? My friend has tried the guides and it says odin fails when he uses it.
This is the guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439. Your friend may need to be sure that he has the samung drivers installed and the latest version of odin. You could try a different USB port or different PC. It works best using the supplied OEM micro-USB cable.
Ok, thank you!

Make sure he waits for Odin to complete as well. When I was following the guide, Odin would reboot the phone and I thought it was done. I had to redo it a couple times because I didn't wait for it to get to the "Succeeded" stage.

Hello,
I have deleted your other thread with the same topic...please only open one(1) thread per topic.
You also have the same thread in the device specific forum found here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help/note-3-root-failed-please-help-t3135908 .
This thread should probably also be closed since you have already posted in the device section. ( RC's go ahead and close it if you concur.)
Thanks,

Hey Guys! So here's my problem today... You see my friend wanted a new ROM for his galaxy Y. And I, being a geek; accepted. Now when I flashed CWM, it worked fine at first but when I tried to reboot it at the CWM menu it says "Root access is missing. Root device. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE." and there are 2 options either "-No" or "Yes - Root device (/system/xbin.".. Now, no matter what I choose it still wont boot up completely and open CWM. How do I fix this??? I don't want to ruin my friends new phone!! HELP!
It's title is "CWM-based recovery V6.0.5.3"
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
You should be asking your question in the device specific forum or in the forum for the Rom you are using. In most Development sections of each device specific forum you will find a thread on recoveries you can also ask in there or in the Q&A section for the device.
XDA Assist is here to guide you and point you in the direction you need to go.
We do not provide solutions or guides. We are a Developers site for Developers. Users are required to search and research their information. Please make sure you read everything and truly understand it before attempting to alter your very expensive device, in this case your friends.
Thank you and good luck

P.S. I will tell you that you should have selected NO when it first asked you if the device was already rooted, which it must have been since you installed custom recovery.
I rebooted the phone cuz AdAway updated, and there was no more root when it booted. Went in recovery to install SuperSU (2.76 - magisk), it installs but still no root after boot. Any idea why?
I don't think it had to do with AdAway, but no other app ( root requiring app) updated since last reboot...
*bump*
Any1?
