[Completed] HTC One M7 SD card partition Data Recovery - XDA Assist

Hi all, I wish to know what will be the best way to recover the data on my HTC one m7 I before installing custom Rom missed out on taking backup and formatted the SD card partition too, is there any possible solution available to retrieve the data, I'm looking at photos as that is what I have the maximum and of priority and rest all is fine if it doesn't get recovered. Can any one suggest the best option available now?

[Completed] [Q] Repartition internal memory of Samsung S4 VZW i545?

A forum thread about repartitioning or cleaning internal memory exists here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344939
Could a Recognised Developer review this and determine if it really is too risky to attempt? How could it be done? What is the real level of risk?
The posters suggest that just changing to a custom ROM will NOT free up the partition, so reformatting the internal partition appears to be the only way.
Would ADB on a computer with the i545 tethered via USB be a viable way to deal with clearing the partition?
Well for this I think if you decide to try this you're definitely playing with fire. I personally think its a recipe for disaster, but to each their own. You should be directing your question in that thread for support. Xda assist is here for showing you the way, not direct support.
Thank you and good luck.

[Completed] SD card empty in TWRP recovery

My Xperia Z3 runs Cyanogenmod 12. I've just installed TWRP recovery and I want to restore a backup I have on my SD card. When I click on "Restore" then "SD card", there are no files in there, its just blank. How can I restore the firmware backup which I have on the SD card?
Hi. XDA Assist should not be the place you go to first to get your questions answered. Our job is to point you in the right direction. We are not a technical support site. I see you've used XDA Assist many times. The best place to get help is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3. [Completed] HTC M8 - SD appears to be encrypted, but never did so.

Info: Stock HTC M8 / Android 6.0 / HTC Sense 7.0
I've been running on a stock M8 for a couple of years now, never really had a reason to tamper with it until recently when my internal storage was maxing out. I boot unlocked and rooted, and now my M8 has factory reset as expected.
I moved everything I wanted to keep onto my SD card prior to the rooting process. I've never once encrypted my device as I didn't like the performance hit on my last one, and I found the pattern unlock function more than sufficient for my needs. That said it appears somehow my SD card has become encrypted anyway, and I have no answer as to how or why. I've never (to the best of my knowledge) installed a third party app that provides encryption functionality, and certainly never authorised anything to encrypt the entire card.
Is there some feature of Android that I'm missing with regards to external storage that would have caused this?

[Completed] How to remount internal sd card storage

No support from zeki. They said sorry can't help. And past any warranty to return.
Zeki tablet TBQG884B kitkat 4.4.2
I tried a swap ram thing to try increase memory size/speed.
dev_mount sd card change
I didn't quite know what I was doing. Didn't make a backup, etc.
I rooted tablet with kingoroot it's still on it. So is superuser but it asks to download binary files again, but can't because no sd card mounted. Internal or external.
It won't connect to computer usb debuging or mass storage at all.
I can no longer get into system files file explorer etc., to try to reverse/fix what I did.
It said nand flash something instead of sd in video. I now know I shouldn't of edited it.
Is there any way I fix it. Maybe put a different OS on it? If that would fix it? Maybe something from google/android and kitkat?
It works as far as going online with brower. But not much more. won't mount either sd.
I looked everywhere and trying everything. Please help. Thanks.
It said in video to go into sysytem files and change ...

[Completed] TWRP not seeing External Storage

Hello All. I’ve run into an issue with my new Moto G4+. I rooted the phone a couple of weeks ago and all was well with that. I downloaded the AOKP rom last Friday and was going to flash it over the weekend. To my surprise, TWRP does no see my external SD card so I can’t do a backup. The internal storage does not have enough space to backup. I have the 16gb model. I can see/use the SD card with no problem when the phone is running. I’ve searched the forums for a solution, but the only thing I’ve found is to format the SD card as internal storage. However, folks seem to be really, really divided on this solution. I really want to flash AOKP, but I need to do a Nandroid backup first. I tried doing an on-line backup with the TWRP app, but it doesn’t provide me with an MD5 for verification. Any help with getting TWRP in recovery mode to see the SD card would be greatly appreciated. TWRP file manager and terminal allow me to see the card (sdcard1 is its name in TWRP recovery), but it does not show up for "select storage" or "mount" options.
Thanks.
