App is now up on XDA Labs as well! I'd love to hear some feedback.

This sounds great, I will give it a try and let you know

The bar is too narrow. Its nearly impossible to see, so I can't tell how deep the color is. This can only be fixed by paying for an upgrade. I don't mind donating for an app I really enjoy, but I can't see it well enough to tell if it works or not.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like? It shouldn't be too small to see! The reason I made the bars this narrow by default is so that the writing in the status bar isn't covered by the overlay.

Screenshot is attached. I'm on a hammerhead.

Yea that looks to be what it should be (i.e. not a bug). However, I don't see the data bar, did you disable it? I'll think about increasing the default thicknesses, especially if others agree!

I did disable the data bar, im satisfied with having the incoming rate on the right. I really like the idea of having the CPU bar though, I'm on a custom kernel and I'm experimenting with the CPU and RAM, and this would be a great help coupled with the CPUTemp Xposed module

I went ahead and bought this in spite of having previously purchased a "competing" product since I have found KinScreen so useful
I haven't done enough testing on this but initial findings are that the CPU usage seems a bit high. I am running an S7 edge (stock Verizon ROM, no root) and with refresh lowered to 1.5s, CPU usage seems to hover over 2.5%. When refresh is lowered to 3s the CPU usage seems to mostly keep under 2% but I still find that a bit high and that slow a refresh is not ideal IMO.
I really like the idea of the glow/transitions but you might want to include within the color selection screen a graph with the color shades and their numeric value or range.
Please let me know if you need additional info on the CPU usage, and I will also give more input as I use it more.
Thanks for the fun toys

Have you seen Powerline by Urbandroid?

Thanks for the support. Are you talking about the CPU usage of SystemGlow itself? Was your device plugged in or have you ticked the animate while on battery option? With animations it can be 2-3% but without it should be under 0.5%.

No I hadn't seen it! I chose 2 monitors that actually change constantly and are fairly important. The bars glow into view from transparent to opaque, and are always full length rather than filling in from one side to the other.

Yes I meant CPU usage of the process itself. I was plugged in at that time but now on battery and with animation disabled it is much less as you mentioned, though on my device at about .6% (as measured within 3c Toolbox)
It was powerline that I had been running up until now. Due to the fluctuating length of the bar in that program I never bothered with measuring CPU but confined myself to showing only %Battery and Wireless strength, both of which would fluctuate less but the presentation in SystemGlow is much better IMO!

Loving your app, it's usefull and not invasive.
Wouldn't it be possible do add a download progression bar? (I used a Xposed Module for it, but now I'm with a new phone and I don't want to root or unlock it's bootloader).

What do you mean by download progression? How much of a download has completed? It would be really difficult and maybe even impossible for SystemGlow to find out about an ongoing download.

That's something that only xposed (maybe root) can do.
@Flyview I like the app but I was expecting something similar to Powerline (bar moving with the charge) as it's easier to know if it's high or not.

Like this concept. There are numerous bar graphers around but this idea is unique. Could use dots instead of lines.
Running current stable version on Kitkat omni-rom, LG P500 dinosaur. This has integral immersive mode which I use. Bar is normally hidden, swipe down on top to show.
BUG: When hide when hidden selected, bar does not show at all. Probably due to how visibility is reported to the app.
BUG: After deselecting, must toggle the app service off and on to get it back.
BUG: Toggling service off produces FC. UI stays visible and functional.

The idea is that when it's low it's unobtrusive. If you prefer the way Powerline does it, by all means use that.

Interesting, I cannot reproduce any of those. If you think you can get me a logcat, please email me (teqtic at gmail dot com) so I can send you a debugging version and see what's going on with the disappearing bars when the hide with status bar option is used.
I can see the FC error you're talking about, there's been about 3 reports of it, can't reproduce it on my Nexus 5x but I should be able to fix it.

I gave it a try, and one thing I noticed right away is the very limiting maximum traffic value. Maybe it would be better to allow a numerical entry rather than just being able to slide from 5KB/sec to 200KB/sec in 5KB increments? At least on wifi I am capable of 18MB/sec upload and download, and while I realize this may be an extreme case 200KB/sec seems really quite low.

Thanks for the feedback. I can certainly change it to an editable input for you. However, I figured a lower value would let you see, for example, when a messaging app is sending out a message, loading a picture, etc. Setting it to your max bandwidth would be pretty useless, because how often are you actually transferring at that rate? Small values will be virtually invisible in comparison.

The first update just went live on the Play store and on XDA Labs:
1.0.1 (September 26, 2016)
-Fixed crash when toggling service after disabling hide with status bar
-Fixed an issue with opacity of network bar
-More customizable refresh rate, height, and network max. values

[Q] Any way to make status bar longer / wider to show more icons / notifications ?

Hi guys,
Is there any way to make our status bar longer / wider ? It really irritates me that some notifications do not show up on the status bar (like GMail, Facebook, Tapatalk etc.), because there are other apps occuping the place in status bar permanently (like CPU Usage Monitor, Battery Indicator Pro, Tasker or Avast! Mobile Security). So sometimes if I don't catch the notification sound I can't tell there is new email, facebook event or tapatalk post just by looking at the screen. I need to click on the status bar to see all the notifications. I turned off permanent notifications for some programs like Tasker or Avast, but this way they are not prevented to be killed by internal task manager. Taking into consideration the fact that status bar occupies only small part of the screen I would say it is a huge waste of space. Is there any way to hack it and make it longer / wider to display more icons / notifications ? My HTC Sensation shows more icons in the status bar and it has this nice arrow sign to indicate there are additional notifications. Here we don't have such indicator.
I'm not absolutely sure about the stock ROM -- although I think I do know and that the answer should be in the negative -- but on CM10, for example, there is an option to display the number of open notifications in the task bar. I haven't tested it so far -- if I remember to, I will give it a shot and report back in.
Bottom line: probably on a custom ROM.

Modify Status Bar without Root

Hi guys I found this cool app on the Google play store by James Fenn it allows you to modify the status bar without root it might not work flawlessly but it does this is job this does not work in the lockscreen and live/scrolling wallpaper screenshots below
FEATURES
Center Clock option
Carrier Name
Battery Percentage display
Headphone Indicator
Minimal battery usage I tested it
Material design works in most application
Custom color adjustment for applications
Quote from James Fenn Below
"The actual status bar is only hidden under the replacement; touch gestures are not overridden, and the standard notification panel is still shown. It needs a lot of permissions in order to obtain the information needed to display in the status bar."
Permissions:
- Accessibility Service: used to attempt to get the status bar color of the current app if the 'status bar coloring' preference is enabled.
- Notification Access: used to get the icons of the current notifications.
- System Alert Window, System Overlay Window: used to draw the status bar above all other apps.
- Battery Stats: used to find if the battery is charging and what percent it is at.
- Network State, Phone State: gets the type and connection of the phone network, and if airplane mode is enabled.
- Wifi State: finds if wifi is enabled and how good the connection is.
- Bluetooth: find if bluetooth is enabled & connected or not.
- Location Services: finds if GPS is enabled.
- Alarm: find if an alarm is set.
This app is and will remain ad-free and with no "pay to unlock this feature" popups. All I ask is that you provide some feedback about what I can do to improve your experience with this app.
Current Issues
Heads-up notifications dismiss keyboard
Yep.
Resize LinearLayouts for multiple icons
Since the LinearLayouts currently only take up half of the status bar (or half the status bar minus half the width of the center layout, if there are any centered icons), it is possible for them to run out of space and get cut off on small screens. A warning for this would probably be a good idea...
Backup SharedPreferences to file
Does what it says. It would be a pretty useful option, but a bit impractical where updates are concerned.
Data and signal icons are shown incorrectly
They usually (I've had a few occurrences where they do actually work properly) refuse to disappear when airplane mode is enabled or when wifi is turned off. No clue why.
Needs support for dual sim phones
I've created an IconData class for it [here](https://github.com/TheAndroidMaster...s/status/data/icon/DualNetworkIconData.java), but it doesn't seem to be working properly.
Notifications don't dismiss properly below android 4.3
Notification listener api isn't available, listens for notifications through the AccessibilityService but cannot detect when they are dismissed - temporary solution: remove all icons when the notification panel is opened.

I can't understand the commentary in the videos posted in the OP because the usual loud background music is missing in both videos and also they're not talking too fast. .
Seriously guys, this is an English language forum. Don't get me wrong, I love India, been there many times and will go back. But even there different regions have different languages. How would you like it if the Russians or Chinese started doing this on xda? As there is no other info in the OP

These mods come as a magisk module for your convenience and simplicity. It is not the same as the other modules for this device, which will mostly work on any old device you flash them on, as they only contain extra apps/outdated build.prop tweaks. This ZIP contains a lot of modified code in OxygenOS apks/jars (actual time consuming development). If you don't flash this on top of the correct OxygenOS version, you are more than likely to run into issues.
Supported OxygenOS versions:
OnePlus 7 Pro: 10.3.7.GM21AA, 10.0.10.GM21BA
OnePlus 7: 10.3.7.GM57AA, 10.0.10.GM57BA

OnePlus 7Pro 5G: 10.0.9.GM27BA
OnePlus 7Pro Sprint: 10.0.1.GM25CC, 10.0.2.GM25CC
Added context aware airplane mode from Android 11. Won't kill bluetooth connection to audio device when switching on airplane mode.
Added Mclaren options from OnePlus 7T Pro
Added Horizon Lights for OnePlus 7 users
RiCE tweaks app in app drawer to control tweaks (full details of tweaks below)
Ambient Display & Horizon Light tweaks
Quick Settings & Expanded Notification Tweaks
Theming for Status Bar, Quick Settings and Expanded Notifications
Extensive Lock Screen tweaks
Caffeine QS tile
Extended Volume Panel
Button remapping tweaks including torch on power key
Modified screenshots to save as PNG (extremely helpful for extended screenshots)
Aux camera's work in GCAM (wide lens and zoom lens)
None of the placebo claims of massive RAM management/speed improvements, we will let the ROM and custom options do the talking

Finally a real ROM., not a build.prop/debloat placebo script. Keep up the great work!
@Noxxxious Out of interest are you planning on developing NX Kernel for the OP7 Pro to complement Renovate Ice ?
Very cool, thx. Used this on 6T
Any chance of adding status bar brightness slider?
That's the last feature i miss from full on custom ROMs that this Module didn't have
Ooo yes

There is a long list of stuff we want added. Stay tuned buddy!
I genuinely believe we will get as close to a source built ROM for customisation capabilities whilst keeping all the benefits of OOS!

Sounds great. Thanks for all the hard work!
Hi all,
Just to help get a flavour of some of the tweaks, here is my personal set up.
Regards,

Ok I'll be that guy...lol
Will this work on 9.5.4 since it has the same change log as 9.5.5 and just meant for a different region?

The only reason I asked is because I saw his comment above and thought hmmmm thats interesting he must be getting a OP7 Pro. Surely therefore it must be happening, but hey one can live in hope
Nice to see Renovate Ice continue its journey forward on OnePlus smartphones however
My phone is still on 9.5.3. I can't use yet, right?

Hey buddy,
Unfortunately none of us in the team have a variant that has the equal 9.5.4 build so haven't been able to test. My understanding is that it would work but if you aren't using the Chinese TWRP (ie can't use something like uninmod in TWRP) to disable the module if it doesn't work then I wouldn't suggest trying. You will be stuck in a hard to solve boot loop given we don't have fully working TWRP.
That said, if anyone on the latest 9.5.4 has the Chinese TWRP installed, we would be grateful if you could test?

No,
Unfortunately it won't work because this modifies specific files in each version of the ROM that OnePlus releases. Each time OnePlus releases a new update, the developer has to fully rebase the whole ROM!

Once my son goes to bed (if no one else has tried by then) I'll flash the Chinese TWRP and try and post up my results.
I ran this ROM exclusively on my 6T and looking forward to it on my 7 Pro.
Damnnnn this looks good. Will definitely test on 9.5.4 AA soon

Why Isn't The Whole Status Bar Being Utilized By Android Or LineageOS?

I have a formerly mysterious notification dot on the status bar. I figured out what it was for when I was investigating why the wifi and data icons weren't appearing. The notification dot indicates that there are other icons that it can't show because (I guess) it thinks it doesn't have enough room. For some reason the OS is only allowing a very small portion of the status bar to be used(see screenshot) . Why? Is there a de-clutter setting I need to turn off somewhere? Is there any way to fix this? Is this an Android 10 issue or a LineageOS 17.1 issue?
If you want details of my investigation, ok: In the status bar settings when I disable the mobile data icon, the notification dot disappears and the wifi icon appears. When I disable the wifi icon, the alarm icon replaces the notification dot. When I move the clock to the left side or the center, the alarm and wifi icons appear. When I go into the clock settings and turn off the alarms, the notification dot is replaced with the wifi icon. But the alarm clock icon wasn't showing before I turned the alarms off. In between the disabling, what was previously disabled was re-enabled.
What idiot programmer thought it would be a good idea to have a notification dot appear in the status bar and not tell you what it means? When you google Android status bar notification dot, nobody has any idea what it means. The only answer I found is from someone who figured out what it was indicating for them (different than what was indicating for me) by investigating like I did. There's no general documentation, but even if there was, it wouldn't do you any good unless it told you where to go to view notification dot messages. I assume there is no such place.
Bump
I believe I have also seen it... LOS 17 on Moto Edge.
I think I figured out what the problem is. First here's an explanation of how the Status & Notification bar works from here:
The status bar and the notification bar are very similar, but in reality, they are two different things. The status bar is located at the top of the display, on the right. This is where you will see things like the current time, battery status, and current connections (Bluetooth, cellular network, and Wi-Fi). The Notification bar, on the other hand, is located on the upper left side, where you'll find app icons to alert you to new messages, updates to the Play Store, and other notifications.

It looks like the OS is allocating way to much space to the left side so the right side doesn't have enough space to display its icons. I assume its actually LineageOS doing this, not Android.
This is a known gripe for certain people. It's androids attempt to plan for folks with holepunch and notch cutouts. At default zoom settings you can fit maybe 4 or 5 notifications as well as your clock and status indicators before you're full.
This is compounded by the fact that some apps (mostly messaging apps, text, telegram, gmail) respect this and will show one icon to illustrate that you have unreads, which you can then expand to see all of your various chats/emails. Other apps (looking at you youtube) will show an individual icon for every single notification. 5 unseen videos because you're at work? I guess we don't really need to know about literally any other notification we've gotten.
The best solution I've found is to set a custom dpi so that the screen is as small as is still usable, and to install gravitrybox. It comes with a setting where it will try to increase the amount of notification icons you can view. (in my case its about 9)

The notification side isn't the problem. That side is empty most of the time for me, but I'll try gravitybox.

looks to me like your time font is a tad large.
besides that, seems to be the same issue. android/lineage is trying to prevent the notification bar from becoming cluttered, but it is being way too aggressive.

I didn't do the custom dpi setting, but I did do the GravityBox setting(which I think only effects the status side) and now all of the icons are showing.
The version that LSPosed installed wasn't working. It was saying: "GravityBox system framework not responding. Exiting" while the module was trying to load. I had to install the latest version(which LDSposed notified me of but wouldn't download or install) from GitHub. I had to reboot for it to take effect.
