Hey guys!
Long story short, dropped my phone by accident, screen cracked, ordered a display + touchscreen, took it to a phone service, got it installed, works like a charm. Except..
The touchscreen is a little bit inaccurate. Not to the point where it's impossible to use the phone, I just need to tap above everything, just a little bit.
(I used an app called "Touch Accuracy", here's a picture of how inaccurate the screen is: https://dl2.pushbulletusercontent.c...VfSrJps5Ct/Screenshot_2016-09-19-16-17-44.png)
My question is, is there any way, or an app to sort of fix this issue? I found a few on the Play Store, but none of them helped.
Thanks in advance

hi,
i have had 2 touchscreen cell phones that have bad the "ghost screen problem".
the screen becomes non responsive where you touch and sometimes when you touch a certain spot (icon) it responds somewhere else.
i am going insane trying to find an explanation to this issue!
could a techie/expert/electronic cell phone engineer explain this to me? please? i beg you!!!
i have made a video of my cell phone acting up and posted it on youtube. sorry i explained the video in portuguese... but you can still probably understand the video!
i cant post links yet... so... see my video under my username: emailyarabrandao (youtube.com/watch?v=j4l9PZJFe-Q)
i have tried everything: i am running stock android froyo, nothing is installed and i have done a hard reset. i have taken the battery off, it happens with the usb connected and not connected. i have tried another oem usb cable and even connected the darn phone to 3 different computers running different windows os systems. and no i am not using a screen protector. the screen is clean and i even have washed my hands before touching the darn screen.
like i said before, this has happened to two cell phones of mine! a htc g1 and a motorola droid 2.
i did some research on youtube and found various videos of people with the same problem. as i understood it is a touch screen issue, it happens in various makes and models of cell phones.
i thank you kindly for your time in reading this post! i hope you can help me understand this issue! thank you.
Didnt see the vid since i cant click on it. But if u are using dual touch on a phone with a cross axis issue it would do that.
If not and its single touch i guess its a faulty screen since u did mention the screen and ur hands are clean. (Water on the sceen can ccause that too btw.)

^hummm... you spoke greek to me here; "But if u are using dual touch on a phone with a cross axis issue it would do that.".
can you be more specific?
i guess i should have mentioned on my 1st thread what phones i had. my 1st touchscreen phone was a HTC G1 and the other was a Motorola Droid 2.
but as i mentioned above, i have seen various videos on youtube from other users too.
the vids are not specific to make and model, they are all random.
i thank you for your response.
please... any help on this???
i cant find enough material on the net to help me understand the "ghost screen issue"... the inner workings of it...
thank you in advance!
bumping this up, hoping some high tech peep would help me understand this issue!
anyone knows anything in regards to my 1st post/question on this thread?
i really would like to hear some high tech guys on this touch screen issue!
thank you in advance!
hi everone,,,
Hello elders. Need one again, your help. In fact, I have an 4.2.2, 2GB internal memory, android based tablet which I want to flash cause too slow running, even after factory reset. But, that's not the first reason of why I'm posting this. ?I've tried many times to find a discussion file here on your website but never can I cause I don't exactly know which kind of tablet I have. Turned on, I can read this message "Samsung GalaxyTab 3 7.0" but if I search on google writing down in the search field that words, I always see another tablet, never the one I actually have, holding those specifications. If I go in the settings, "About the phone" at the right place of "Phone model", I can reed "N968" but if I google it too, nothing. it belongs to none of the differents varieties of GalaxyTab 3 7.0 I've googled. Can you first help me identifying which kind of tablet I have and then, help me finding a path to the dedicated discussion forum in the website so that I can benefit of development. Thanks a lot in advance. I've attached some pictures of what I've talked about. Have access to the gallery of pictures here. Sorry for the bad quality! Hope that you're seeing something. http://postimg.org/gallery/37mffx0um/ or these ones: http://hpics.li/747b415 ; http://hpics.li/6ccb7ec ; http://hpics.li/d60f915 ; http://hpics.li/1196039
Use cpu-z. An app which will tell every thing about the tablet
i can do any thing except damaging your device. GOD DOES NOT DO THAT
Hello! Thanks a lot for replying. I was quite busy for my exams. I shall check what you proposed to me. Thanks.
did younget what you wanted

Mistook the title, the phone has the Y axis inverted, not the X one.
Hello XDA,
I searched for similar problems as mine, but none could help me (since couldn't find anything that is split-screen related).
The problem is I dropped my phone on the ground and since then, half of my screen (the lower part of it) has the Y axis inverted (pressing at the middle of the phone will activate the home button and vice versa).
Don't tell me to buy a new touchscreen for it because I can't afford one at the moment, and also can't afford buying a new phone.
I am thinking that the easiest way to fix this (software sided fix) is to sort-of use an app that flips the touchscreen but only for a half of screen.
I don't actually know how to fix this, that's why I am asking for your help.
The phone is an AllView V1 Viper.
Thanks for the future answers and for reading this post.
Hello Thank you for using XDA Assist.
I am sorry but it really seems like you have damaged hardware not software as you say you dropped your phone.
Unfortunately I can not locate a specific device forum for your device.
You are more than welcomed to post your question in the General section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general
I know it is not what you wanted to hear but I would say a local repair shop may be able to give you better answers.
Good Luck

A few weeks ago my Note 2 hard bricked itself, or I might as well say, it died.
Anyway, I bought a motherboard off eBay and installed it. Everything seems to work perfectly except for my Sky Map app, or any similar app. It's supposed to give ma real time view of what's in the sky. The apps load as usual, but when I point it at the sky nothing changes. Whatever star or view was on the screen when it loaded stays there no matter which way the phone moves. I always used Google Sky before the motherboard replacement. I first suspected the GPS, but Google Maps and a speedometer app work ok. I downloaded a GPS test app, and it shows everything is working. Does anybody know what's wrong with it?

Hi all,
I wasn't sure whether to post this here as I'm not sure whether it's specific to my device but here goes...
My TF201 Transformer Prime sometimes freezes/locks up for short periods (5-30 seconds) and I'm trying to figure out why. The system clock in the top right notifications bar thingy even stops ticking (I've enabled the display of seconds and it just stays frozen). I've installed a monitoring app called "SystemPanel" from the Play Store (and have given it root perms as my device is rooted) and during these times, the load average is incredibly high (I've seen it as high as 30 before iirc!) but the CPU usage and RAM usage often aren't hitting 100%
I am now using Android Nougat 7.1 after following this guide BUT I got this same problem before I followed this guide (i.e. using the stock Asus TF201 Jelly Bean firmware) - this was one of the reasons I was following this guide as I'd read that the last official Asus firmware had crippled the device performance-wise and I thought that might have been why the device locked like this. I have tried using a minimal set of apps but it still happens and this definitely feels like more than a software issue to me anyway.
The tablet has a crack across the very bottom right corner of the front (not obscuring the actual display) so I think it may have been damaged in the past but right now I'd really appreciate a way of working out at least what is causing the lock up, e.g. could it be disk problems? or RAM? Apps tend to run fine without crashing except for when this issue triggers and the whole device becomes basically unusable for 10s or more ... which is very frustrating!
Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben
Perhaps I should put this post in a more general forum?
