[HELP] can't access codes from dialer - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having a very wierd problem in my Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F.
Nowadays in india there is boom of Reliance Jio, i had a sim and using it. It supports LTE but in my phone it only shows 4G. so i did some research and found thai i can enable voLTE through doing some changes inside CSC folder in a file called feature.xml or other.xml. but in my case both didn't work.
so i started finding about that problem on xda and google and found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/volte-fix-internation-varrient-galaxy-t3454015
i downloaded and dis as per what it said and it works as well. but after doing this i was unable to dail codes from dialer. even *#06# is not working.
i reverted back to original files as i have kept the back up of my original files. but still i was not able to use code from dialer.
What is wrong? is any file missing?
how can i fix it?

Use Odin to install your latest stock ROM, do a factory reset, then do the steps in the link you provided. Did you have a custom ROM installed?

[Q] Unable to register on 3G network

First of all, my i9103 turned into brick last month
Somehow I get into recovery mode, flash the stock rom 2.3.6 and wipe all the data
Since then, three-UK SIM card (which only works with 3G) isn't working anymore...
After rebooting for a number of times,I did get it working and make a call ONCE but it doesn't work after that
I sent an email to Samsung and they mentioned : Please be advised that the issue reported with the handset indicates that it may need a software reset, or re-flashing of the firmware, in order for it to operate normally again.
1. Is there anyway to make sure the hardware is working?
2. Should I just try re-flashing the stock rom by myself?
Thanks!
try flashing stock xwla4 rom, in that rom have only 3g network and also its a official 3 branded rom, it should work.

I flashed the Hong Kong version stock rom, and it should be same as it's original one.
Suppose I won't need to do the re-partition thing, hence the data inside won't be affected even if I flash another rom?
Do you think it is a software problem?
Hk rom also works with 3g so now after flashing u should be not facing any prob with 3g network, if u see any prob try wiping cache and dalvik cache. (Hk rom and austria rom both r based on 2.3.6 but there are some changes in these two fws, but it should work fine with any network)
while flashing on odin, DO NO CHECK RE-PATTITION.
flashing a rom doesnt wipes ur data and apps unless u wipe data from cwm or other way.

Most likely to be a software problem?

Cant tell surely that its a software prob, if after flashing a stock rom and u still face prob in getting 3g network than could be hardware issue to.
Have u tried flashing stock xwla4?

[Q] sim 2 fails since update emui 3.0

Since the update tot emui3/lollipop i've got issues with my phone being connected to both sim cards. The network on sim 2 is often not connected. So I con only receive call's and text messages on the first sim. This is not normal. After a reboot most of the times it works again for some time, but eventually it fails again. can anyone help?
I did receive the update normally and my phone is not rooted
Try the easiest way. Do a factory reset

Try re-installing the latest rom released. if it didn't work go back to the rom that worked with you without this issue. If the problem remains, then You need to take it to the nearest service center coz it's mostly gonna be a hardware issue
Sent from my gigantic"iPhone" using Tapatalk
mine is build b313. Can i do an upgrade without rooting my phone?
Sure u can. It's an official update, you don't need root to install ANY official update
Sent from my gigantic"iPhone" using Tapatalk
and how exactly do I reïnstall this?
Download the rom ( you can find the latest version in the index thread)
Unzip the rom
Move the folder "dload" to the root of your external sd card ( make sure that the file "update.app" is inside dload folder
Go to settings
Updater
Options
Local update
Agree to create a backup
Agree to all prompts
Wait for the phone to reboot and install the update
If you see a success message after its done then you are all done!

Question. So I have a stock at&t s7 edge and its never been rooted. I have rooted and flash phones before so I'm not new to the game. I'm currently on APH1. Just curious if I have to go through the root process then be able to flash this through flash fire. Just want to confirm as I download this rom. Thanks

No it has no bootloader or modem it is based on the latest firmware which if you take the OTA then you would have v4 bootloader. This rom should work on any bootloader as it only flashes the system partition...

@jds3118 - just installed this and it's up and running right now with no issue.
I'm on ATT 935A with 935U PG9 Bootloader v2 and this new PI2 code. See screenshot.
I noticed on this ROM and the EchoE rom the EZ Package Disabler Pro won't work (license check is saying fails), so I am using TiBu to freeze apps.
Note to others, install does everything automatically, there is no Aroma for selecting any behaviors. The ROM will boot up with the AT&T logo and stay like that for about 15 mins (watch a tv show or something and come back; be patient, it will boot!).
android pay setup without issue. haven't been to a store yet though.

What were you running previous to this ROM? Did you flash directly over it, or did you wipe anything?
I am on rooted stock PI2 and having some issues. Wondering if I'd be okay without wiping data since it's the second firmware.

see my signature.. I'm coming from echoerom. However before that I was on 935u pg9 rooted.
This will erase system and data and then install. So you don't need to wipe.. it will not touch your external SD card either.
@jds3118
couple things i've noticed so far:
1. SuperSU prompted that the binary needed updating (2.78). I noticed that root on boot wasn't checked, so I checked that and rebooted, message went away.
2. Cannot login to snapchat. It complains when it is verifying the device. Sends you to: https://support.snapchat.com/en-US/a/failed-login
Please Note: Snapchat works best on devices running original software, and Snapchatters using a "rooted" Android device may experience issues. Rooted devices often circumvent Android security defenses and may not be compatible with Snapchat.
One other thing I am going to try over the weekend is to return to an AT&T v2 bootloader and reinstall this ROM. With the U firmware, I am not seeing any of the wifi calling, etc.
Also, your engboot mods are definitely the best I've tried so far. It would be cool if you had a flashfire zip just containing your kernel (and what other changes you make) and package that up (kind of like the v15 zip).
otherwise, this rom is pretty slick, going to give it a couple days to run apps and settle in.
thanks!

Tried to do a factory reset, now I can only book into TWRP

Hello folks,
I successfully installed TWRP and Magisk on G7 Power, without needing to use a stock image, using flug32's guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81305325&postcount=358
(I didn't install Edxposed)
Restored apps and settings via Google Backup, installed ViperFX & CallRecorderFix from Magisk and increased media volume levels in BuildProp.. Everything was working fine for a couple of days, and then the camera kept giving me the Camera Busy error; the usual restore permissions, and restart phone fixes didn't sort it, so wanted to a factory reset. Tried this from settings, but of course, it just boots in TWRP. So then I saw a post that seemed to suggest that you have to do a wipe via TWRP to do this, and now it just boots back into TWRP, I presume that I have wiped something that is needed during normal startup.
Is it possible for me to get it to boot back into the stock image that is/was on the phone, and if so, how do I do a factory reset?
Or am I going to have flash another stock image (the RETGB doesn't seem to be available) following the instructions in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/g7-power/how-to/guide-moto-g7-power-supra-flash-to-t3927138

I think you are going to need to flash a stock rom.
Are you sure it was on software channel Retgb?
Not Tescogb or Eegb
It's a 1955-4 ?

I am pretty certain that it was on RETGB, as it came unlocked from another supplier, and I seem to remember checking after I had rooted it.
If I put Tescogb or Eegb on it, will that lock it to those networks ?
It is a 1955-4, so I presume RETEU is the best option for a compatiable unlocked ROM.

Using Tesco or EE will not lock it to those carriers
But there maybe some radio issues.
Yes you will likely have batter compatibility with a 1955-4 rom
Reteu does look like the best option.

Do I need to use the same version that I was on, 134-4, or shall I use the updated 134-7 one?
