Good afternoon all if anyone could please help I'd greatly appreciate it!
So I just bought a Sprint Galaxy S5 from ebay with the assumption that with some customizing I'd be able to get the phone domestically unlocked. I got the phone and it was already updated to 5.0 Lollipop so I followed this tutorial to get the SSU.apk to actually work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...locking-sprint-galaxy-s5-g900p-t3085624/page2
After a lot of time I was successful at rooting the phone and was able to downgrade to 4.4.4 but the tutorial calls for 4.4.2 but it seems that 4.4.4 was the only fw that would successfully install.
But now here's the problem I was able to obtain the domestic unlock code through Sprint but now the activation/update app doesn't work and doesn't open automatically the way that the reps said it would,. I've tried to reset stock through Kies but Kies doesn't recognize the phone. I've also tried to use Odin through out this process not only to reset back to stock but also downgrade the fw and the modem. The really annoying part is that small PDA/AP updates and installs work fine but when I try to Odin the original tars it always fails 100% getting a "sw rev check fail aboot fused 2 binary 1 " error on my phone.
I really don't know what to do at this point, and it seems the error is associated with a soft brick but the device still powers on and boots.
I thought this would be a pretty straight forward process but I've hit the wall and am losing my mind, I need help!
P.s. I flashed 4.4.4 fw with CWM and the device is still rooted
Thanks

Is it for warranty purposes? What version android are you on at the moment, I've never tried it myself but in theory it should work, as long as as the bootloader is included in the flashing process.
6.0.1 With August Security Patch
Two Days pack I've repaired my phone usin repair Firmware and noticed that it flases a PIT also...that's why my question came up
My Knox status is 1... i had root earlier, so i dont know about tripping KNOX by this flash procedure

As soon as you root, you trip knox which is not reversible. Pit files tell odin what files to flash to which partition on the phone, using an incorrect pit file can cause a failed flash and damage to the phone. What you can do is download. I've never downgraded so don't want to advise you incorrectly. Hopefully someone who has will comment. Or try a search in the forum
In Sammobile site i'm unable to find (According to SamFirm Downloader requirements) the "phone" version code for first ever 5.0.1 (SEB) (SM-G920F)
There is an CSC and PDA, but no third firmware code...
Any suggestions?
I dont know if i should post this here but here i go. Hey Guys i am very new to xda and very new to rooting. i recently rooted my galaxy s7 edge (sm-g935fd)

The firmware that you are trying to flash is giving you the sw rev error because that firmware is an older/downgraded version than the version that is already on the phone. You have to flash the firmware that is the same as what is already on the device or a newer version, you can't flash an older version. Find the newest, most updated firmware that you can find for your specific model number.
Do a Google search for:
"Stock firmware for SM-G935FD"
Then find the newest available version that is made for your specific region/carrier.

Thank you. I shall try this let you know.
Hi All
I had and still have the latest software for SM-G930F
I followed a tutorial to root my s7 but then realised that root does not work properly on android 8.0.0
I would love some help to un-root my s7.
Baseband version
G930FXXS7ESL5
Build Number
R16NW.G930FXXS7ESL5
I have used odin to re flash original firmware but it still says the device is rooted.
like Samsung pass comes up this device is rooted so this option is unavailable.
i used sm-g930f cf-auto root, magic-disk and no-verify-opt-encrypt 6.1 and have twrp 3.3.1.0-herolte
it will only let me re-flash android 8.0.0 original firmware witch i though would wipe the the phone completely and un-root but i was most certainly wrong.
i wold love my s7 back on android 7.0 or below so that i can have a custom rom installed.
If you need more info let me know and thanks i advance to all the developers, moderators and users.
thanks
John
Hey there, since you have twrp already installed you could look into some of the custom roms if you want theres even Pie roms with OneUi avaliable, i have almost no experience with cf autoroot but if you want to completely get rid of previous system files before flashing the firmware select the option 'nand erase' in odin and make sure you fill every file to its respective field.
I would suggest against using 'plz' 'pls' in the title or your thread because that will most likely get you ignored, feel free to give me an update if that worked for you!
I'm using a samsung s7 sm-G930f running on android oreo 8.0. I tried kingroot it failed both on mobile and PC, so I try flashing twrp through Odin and it still fail .the thing is I bought this device used when I tried Samsung pass it told me your device has been rooted , yet rootchecker tell me it's not rooted I'm confuse , meanwhile when I got into download mode on my samsung s7 I found G930V and not G930f so I'm even much confuse now. The device is a G930V. It's common to fake a G930F to sell it second hand.
You need to follow root guide for G930V

Ehhhhh...I think...sorry to say but you...just got an American Verizon model with a Snapdragon 820 SoC with a permanently locked bootloader. I think you can root it in a different way tho, but unless a miracle happens you will be stuck on the stock ROM forever, but it can be rooted. There is a method to root the SM-G930A but IDK if it works with the 930V model. Never knew people rebranded Snapdragon models as Exynos models, scary. Try asking for a refund or a real G930F with Exynos 8890 SoC, you got misled by the seller. If you already had it or got it from a close person then try to get an Exynos one. That rooting method kinda looks dangerous and involves flashing a bootloader. To clarify which model do you REALLY have, install Device Info HW from Play Store

Listen, NO ROOT will work for G930F because the phone is not G930F, someone has just flashed G930F firmware on the phone but the HARDWARE is G930V. Understand? You have been ripped off.
You first need to put G930V firmware back on the phone with Odin, the oldest version of G930V firmware you can find, not the lastest one.

There are lots of guides how to flash firmware please download the firmware and follow the guides.
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s7/firmware/SM-G930V/VZW/download/G930VVRS8CRK2/249089/
It does not matter that the bootloader is locked when flashing the firmware to the phone, Odin will flash your phone with the correct firmware.

That is not possible, you just can't flash an Exynos firmware on a Snapdragon model. Someone must've faked the info strings or something else. @Netcrying, can you tell me what the following fields say in Device Info HW?
SOC/Family
SOC/Instructions
SOC/GPU
SOC/Cores
SOC/Clusters
System/Platform
System/Fingerprint
System/Device
The SoC details can't be faked in software, so this may give us a clue of what it really is. I suspect it's a Snapdragon one though, but please post these.
My phone says in download mode:
Code:
ODIN MODE
DOWNLOAD SPEED: FAST
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G930F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: OFF
Secure Download : Enabled
WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0X030c)

See my previous post before flashing anything and post the information, a mistake with Odin can be costly here in Samsung land. This will let you know exactly what you have

nevermind, you have a Verizon S7. Root here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81410291&postcount=1850
You must flash an engineering bootloader. Good luck, you're on your own now.
