OmniROM is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. OmniROM does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Installation
3-button-combo = "Volume Up/+" + "Home/Center" + "Power/Lock"
- First time flashing OmniROM to your Galaxy S4 (or coming from TouchWiz/Stock Based ROMs)?
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
Do a Nandroid Backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition + format /system partition)
Install the ROM from internal/external sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
Done! You can now reboot the phone to enjoy the rom
- Upgrading from CM10.2/CM11?

Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow. Note: If you can provide the latest night/build that the bug didn't exist, it would greatly help in tracking down what caused it.

I haven't tested a lot the ROM but all seems to be working as should I need to make a big backup to switch definitely to OmniROM from CM.

Nope.

There is no doubt as an individual u r the only Dev who has contributed so much for I9500 and brought it to the current level where we have official support from almost all the ROM's.
Only a few months back we had no options no Rom to try, but as an individual you contributed tremendously and helped us get official CM support. Then what in just a few days we had every other Rom team giving support to our device.
If u remember u were first trying to bring Omni but eventually landed giving us unofficial CM build.
It was a big surprise that we did not have Omni for so many days even after development for I9500 came to this high level.
Many Dev tried to build Omni but in vain, a Man who had real blood in his veins was required to get it working and who else other than you was there to do it.
I sincerely congratulate you and thank you for this development.

This ROM isnt rooted? Cuz when i try to change LCD density with root explorer it gives me a error! And there is no superuser option on settings.. How do i root it?

but gapps Unfortunately....stopped, browser same, Add account same (when cheking info..) all show black window.
Maybe gapps is not compatible.
If you make thats bug, your rom i think will be top.

I too installed pa gapps and for me there was no force close. Strange...anyway... Yes browser is force closing,i will fix that soon... Did you test latest test ROM?

With and without pa gapps (for radio), and i try tk_gapps-modular-pico-5.1.1-20150920-signed also.
The same, clear cach & dalvik, and i try and reset system also. No luck.

Actually i think now any gapps will work,which works on cm12.1... Still i am using pa gapps.

Dude, your ROM is awesome, no close app anymore, scroll smooth and fast.
Still some issues, Spirit UL not working, when starting, run and in background bluetooth app and show icon in task bar,strange..
Camera when shooting freeze cant shoot other picture, CameraNext working good.

I install Temasek CM12.1 (19. january update) and it's really good and fast rom.
It's REALLY AMAZING how much options Temasek had - so unbelievable
I had problems with Google Play Service force close and I solve it - really don't know how :S
Xposed Installer is working, SpiritUL don't work
Anyway, thanks for this beautiful rom

I was very interested with the rom and I flashed it too.
Things I saw -
1.The rom is impressive, it has so much tweaks, features, customisations. I loved everything about it.
2.I faced issues while connecting the rom to my google account.
3.The rom is not so fluidic as cm 12.1 is on our phone. There are slight glitches and lags everywhere.
4.For anyone who wants to see the rom, just see a video in YouTube!
I absolutely loved the rom. I hope and I'm sure you will address these problems soon. I'll love to try the rom.

This layout is default for all newer devices. Menu button basically is not used any more... We'll check making it an option

Please fix wifi. I am having problem connecting to a hidden SSID wifi. Needs to restart many times to connect. Thank you.

I've been try to root the cell but I haven't been able to do it. I have unsuccessfully tried some times doing a full wipe each time. First, I have flashed the new recovery through the official TWRP app and as I have understood we should flash rom and gapps at the same time (I have select them in this order) and after the first boot flash supersu or Magisk (I have tried with both). Please, could you provide support about this? I am doing something wrong?
I have seen that you recommend to use the f2fs file system. I have been looking for the partitions to format with this file system and I think that should be data and cache. Am I right about this?

I also wasn't able to root either through the newest magisk nor supersu 2.82 however magisk v14 worked for me

AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!​

Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.​
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.​
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Reboot recovery
6. Flash GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
7. reboot/ profit
8. Flash the root solution of your choice after first boot (optional).​
Currently Supported Root Solutions:​ Magisk Stable​
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine​
KERNEL​The kernel in this ROM uses @karthick mostwanted kernel source. So Thank You to karthick and team hyper!You are greatly appreciated kind sir! I have linked kernel source farther down in the OP.​
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA​:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!​

Maybe, that you are in need to have the Pie FW plus a suitable Recovery installed? My guess is, that you are on Oreo FW.

Does this ROM support f2fs?
This ROM does support f2fs by testing, but the serious problem is "mobile network" breaks down!

how can I check which firmware I am currently in?

I am unable to set access point name (www) for my Vodafone India connection. So I cannot use my mobile data. Is there any workaround?

Sorry for the late answer to you guys. I won't be fixing bugs and i won't be updating this ROM anymore. It was a short, fun ride, but the Lead "Dev" of the ROM is a pathetic liar. He is trying to get money through donations, while he is not working much. Most of the time he tried to push us other devs to fix stuff. After I noticed him lying about me, i pinned him down on it. He tried to lie his way out of the situation, but i called him out on it. At the end he admitted, that he lied; then he deleted all messages to cover up the traces of his shameful behaviour. I then left the development and deleted my build from sourceforge (that ROM build was buggy AF anyway). Maybe this ROM will get somewhere, maybe that Lead-"Dev" will better himself. But not with me. I recommend you guys to get yourself Derp-Fest, POSP, COSP or CrDroid etc.

I am actually working on MSM-X unofficial atm. But seems like sources still need polish. Will look into StatixOS and COLT.
