Sprint note 5 sim issues - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Is anyone else having issues with the note 5 saying invalid sim or no sim detected errors? Its becoming more common this month and sprint store wanted $75 to replace it because i not part of there warrenty program.

I get that pretty regularly. I take the sim out and wipe it off, then put it in and out several times, and it's fine for about a month is seems? Crappy contacts or something, I dunno.

ok so sim cards are dieing from what people are saying. i am on tbolt #3 and my original sim card . so i have 2 sim cards just chilling should i put a new one or just keep rocking out my first one everything seems to be working ok fresh root and rom but what can i do with the other sim cards and are they only for my phone or could someone else use them and if so i got 2 brand new sim cards for sell or trade lol
You tryin to sell something that us free, and if you sim is working why would you wanna change it?besides that you would have to register the sim card under your number, you got some kinda access to vzw's system?

I didn't know they were free I was just saying, but you have to call an 800 number to set up the sim (activate) just like you had to do to your bolt when you first got it. Why would they send a new sim card with each new phone? Knowing I already had one? verizon and the insurance company. you never know a new 1 might be better my data speed just a thought?

Your sim has nothing to do with speed. You can't sell something that is free.

Why are people paying for them if they are free? Ain't nothing free

They don't always send out a new sim card with replacement phones. They sometimes do it to eliminate the possibly of a bad sim.

Sprint nexus 5 activated. Here is how

I had to get a 4G LTE SIM card from Best Buy. The Nexus 5 on Sprint will only activate with a SIM card. The Best Buy associate discounted the SIM card to make it free. Call your local Best Buy Mobile store and see if they have an LTE sim card in stock, and if they do I would go tonight and pick one up. My Sprint Nexus 5 is fully functional on 4G right now.

According to sprint, best buy, and google, the nexus 5 can only be activated with a 4 g l t e g_s_m sim card. It will not activate over cdma . It has to have the 4g simcard.

The issue is really with 32GB versions. What size is yours?
I popped the SIM from my HTC One into it and went through the activation process. The only hiccup was I needed to drop the last number from the IMEI to get the system to recognize it.
I have the 32 gb

I can verify, successfully activated my 32 GB black tonight (online) with Sprint SIM card ordered yesterday through chat service(international). So far, so good. (cross fingers, knock on wood). Only thing I haven't checked on is 4G service, since I've been busy installing apps, etc. over WiFi tonight.
Anybody on Sprint's SERO account and activated online themselves successfully? Or how did you guys go about switching to the N5?
Online? Chat? Over the phone?

[Q] Is it worth it to buy a Nexus 5 with a cracked screen off CL?

I've been wanting a Nexus 5 for a long time but I haven't had the cash to get a new one. I came across one on CL today with a cracked screen (click for picture) for $125. Is it worth it? He said it's only been used for about 2 weeks (which was 2 weeks ago) and a new screen will run me $100. So that puts me out $225. Is it worth it?
Depends on if it's a legit phone or not. Many people have been scammed into buying a stolen phone or the imei is turned in after purchase for insurance fraud.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but blacklisting a stolen phone is carrier specific, right? I'm on ATT and ATT doesn't carry the nexus 5 so the device will work, regardless of blacklisted IMEI, yes?

Blacklisting is not carrier specific. Carriers share that information. Just be real careful

Blacklisted phones are usually country wide, all carriers.
And a phone with a broken screen is certainly being sold as is. Well that means anything else could be wrong too....and since its as is....oh well. Outta luck. Lol
Save your money up....buy one that works before you shell out anything. I know what you're looking at is cheap....but if it never works, its money burnt. You only need 100 or so more for a working phone...based in the $225 you expect to spend on this one. ?

Switching over from a Nexus 4

Hi guys.. I am very close to purchasing a OnePlus One 64 GB version for $375. (Craigslist)
I am coming from a Google nexus 4. While on paper the One looks much better, I am not sure in real world because I've never held one.
Those that switched from nexus 4, what are your thoughts? Are you satisfied, any regrets?

Thank you for the reassurance.
I've read that it has a lot of bugs and force closes, but some say cyanogen put out an update and it fixes all of it. Is that true?

I don't know about other peoples experiences , but I have had some force closes but not different from my nexus 4, mainly unoptimized apps
Nearly all bugs have been fixed, but the multi touch is still iffy, it is 100% software ... Not hardware related because with a reboot it back to normal
( zooming in to photos will cause the photo to violently zoom and unzoom , flicking it self to another photo)
This is on latest stock, I hope lollipop fixes this even tho it happened only twice for me

Is there a negative to purchasing the phone off craigslist?
It's not directly registered to the owner right? I can just pop in my sim card and I'm good to go

The only issue is they may not honor the warranty if something does go wrong with the hardware in the future since you are not the original purchaser, although I don't know what their policy is, it is worth looking into.
Coming from a Nexus 4, this phone is a huge upgrade. I actually came from a Nexus 5 and I love this phone so much, it is nicer in every way, so I think you will love this device.
I would just get an invite and purchase thru the company though, will come to $364 or so shipped, which means cheaper and brand new.
At this point in the game, there is no reason for you to pay MORE than retail.

I have zero of any of these issues and have had the phone for a few months. Yellow banding is overblown and I don't think any of the new build models have them (mine never did). Ghost touches and signal issues? I've not had those one time.
EVERY phone will have some complaints, even... wait for it... the iPhone!
I bought the phone, and sent 2 invites to friends who bought the phone, and no complaints at all. I don't run stock though either, currently I use Carbon ROM nightlies and could not be happier.
Thank you for the information.
What build number should I look in the settings that tells me it's a newer build and not older.

No idea tbh, but just curious why you want to pay over retail for CL instead of getting it from OnePlus?
Looks like someone just posted up some invites here

Just keep an eye on that thread, you'll pay less for a brand new product.

Because of the wait... This invite crap to me is ridiculous.
Who knows how long it will be for an invite. Then wait for shipping.

That's a good point, but you can get an invite thru G+ etc, if you really want one.
No matter which way you go, the phone is solid and I think you'll be happy with the purchase.

But it will not let me buy the phone http://i58.tinypic.com/2a5ewhy.png

looks like verizon user are getting a refund show up on their account and reset upgrade eligibility automatically
Are we getting the same treatment from sprint?
the last time the refund was fast but it took 3 hours on the phone over 5 different calls to get the upgrade reset.

I just swapped my note for an s7 Edge. On a samsung fast wireless charger, my new edge runs hotter than my replacement note ever did. I'm wondering if I made a mistake and should have just held onto it. For those that swapped for an Edge, how much money did you get back? I only got about $53, and was told that $25 would be credited to my account, the rest went to taxes.
But I'm thinking of returning the Edge, use my old HTC m8 H/K until something else comes along.
That sounds a bit messed up you'd have to pay taxes on the credit, since that difference was already taxed during the original purchase.
You just got that amount double taxed...
