Samsung GS7 Battery Drains faster than it Charges - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
So I tried rooting the GS7 recently. It was successful but I kept getting an 'Unauthorized Actions' error. I tried everything I could to get the warning to go away but couldn't resolve it. I've unrooted and have reverted back to stock and did a factory reset. However, now I'm seeing that my battery is draining faster than it charges. I booted into recovery mode and after the "downloading" screen I see an android lying down with a yellow exclamation point over his head. It goes to recovery and at the bottom it says supported APIs: 3 which I've never noticed before. I'm in way over my head and really regret trying to root. I just wanted to access my hosts file so I could block some websites. I'm not sure what to do now and am seeking some advice. I just want my old phone back. =' (
Thanks!

[Q] System software not authorized by Verizon?

Yesterday I got the update on my S3. I am rooted and bootloader unlocked with EZ apps. when I got the update it went into EZ recovery and thinking maybe I could get the update I tried to install it. It looked like alot of it installed but it did kick me out in the end, or gave me an error or something. Anyway when I went to see if the update had gone through under info I saw I was on G1 still not G7 and it said I had an error 401. So I didn't think it had gone through. I tried to change my phone to CM-10 nightlies by invisiblek just now and followed all the steps in the tutorial and when I did my final reboot I get a exclamation point in a sign and a quote, "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help. I know there is a way to load to easy recovery and I will find that and go back to where I was but I thought I should post this as I have been researching quite a bit and hadn't seen this happen to anyone else. Maybe I missed it but just in case maybe this will help someone else. If someone could respond on how to boot into ez recovery I will do that or if someone has a different idea on what I should do I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance...
OK, read something about download mode so tried that. Power-Volume down-Home at same time. Screen came up asking if I wanted to install a custom OS and warning that a custom OS could be dangerous. Same exclamation point thing as not authorized so maybe another Verizon message? Anyway I said yes and it went to Downloading... screen and says do not turn off target. In the upper left hand corner it says Odin mode, product name: SCH-I535, Custom binaryDownload: no, Current Binary: Samsung official, System status: Official, Qualcomm secureboot: enable...
I'm guessing this is how you get into ODIN but as I have never done that and don't have the phone connected to my computer now I'm guessing it's safe to shut off my phone even though it says Do not turn off target!!!
Anyone know how I get to the bootloader? I'm guessing I can load my saved boot from there...UGH!
Tried shutting down phone but it won't. Do I have to remove battery?
Got Odin open but since my backup is a nandroid backup don't see how I can get to it through ODIN. I'm really stuck. Haven't pulled the battery yet as I was hoping someone would chime in here but guess I will have to soon. THere must be a way to get to the bootloader screen as why else would you do a nandroid backup? I also did a full backup on Titanium Backup bt again how do I get there?
OK loaded root66 through odin...phone restored...now what do i need to do to get cm10 on here....
Went and looked at phone under settings and that build was different now and the 401 error was gone so I installed CM10 and it's loading now! Yeah for me
Odin would be your best bet, if you can do that you should be golden, as to recovery ,I believe it's hold volume down, home then power button hold till you feel the vibration then release that should take you to either recovery or download mode.to Odin you need download mode.hope this helps a little

[Q] Issue getting S3 back to stock and 0 ticks.

I'm having a difficult time getting my phone back to stock to send back to Asurion who sent me a new phone. I had a problem where I could not get the phone to activate after installing Cyanogen 10.1. I show two ticks when I boot up into download mode. I would like to get rid of these before sending the phone back.
My problem is two fold.
1. I have rooted using Root Debug but when I install EZ-Unlock it stays white and will not bring up the interface to unlock the bootloader. What could the issue be?
2. How can I get TriangleAway to my phone I'm sending back since it never activated and I have a working phone now?
Thanks for your help. I've looked around and could not find something similar to my situation.

#1-If have root don't need to unlock boot loader. Just run Triangle Away and Odin stock Image again to kill root.
#2- Can either pay for app and download from Market via wifi or get here on XDA, put on root of sd card and install with root explorer of choice.

#3- To get to homescreen and bypass activation from language setup screen tap top left corner/top right corner/bottom left corner/bottom right corner/volume up.

Sweet thanks!
Now a error message comes up saying Triangle Away has stopped working everytime I use it. It goes through it's checks at the beginning then the screen goes black and there goes the error.

Did you Odin back to stock ICS or JB and then reroot. The debug method only works on ICS. I would start Over by Odin back to stock ICS Or need to use new root method for JB.

[Q] Can I root a n8010 stuck in odin bootloop (tried everything else )

Hi all..or anyone out there
I have had the seemingly strange bootloop problem on my stock note N8010...which stuck on the dreaded "samsung galaxy note 10.1" and only has odin feature working. (and no factory reset options because I think the poor old tab is crammed to bursting with apps, files and cache and so had a meltdown) poor thing.
so anyway I check these sites of techie wonder and wisdom and followed every logical option..starting with the simple ones
first ran power down and tried to boot up (x3) with no joy, then take apart the tablet to disconnect / reconnect the battery and boot up (x3) still no change.
So went and got the firmware from samwares (both jelly bean and kitkat) to then flash through odin....tried and failed first because of dodgy cable, but the then got a new one...and joy of joys (at first) odin recognised my tab and the firmware flashed across with pass..but then auto rebooted straight back into the dreaded samsung 10.1 again....so tried different versions of odins... and tried other global n8010 firmware...but funnily and frustratingly then all fully download and pass in odin (and the andoid logo and green download status bar on the tablet seems to shown that downloading is and has fully taken place.... but the darn thing still wont boot up past the samsung galaxy note 10.1
Sadly coming to the ends of my tether (of so many nearly there false hopes, high and lows) and very little cash to send it to the Sami tech bods doesnt help matter....I then read and tried the (supposed) last resort pit file/firmware option...first with kitkat (as apparently that worked for someone somewhere) and then tried with jelly bean..again each time itAlways passes in odin.... but auto reboots into the dreaded bootloop logo .... to haunt and torment me.. Aaaaagh!!!!.....I would not mind if it said action failed (for once) like some others seem to experiencet...but it always passes in ODIN????
So.....have come to the semi ignorant conclusion it is either the bootloader section of the tablet or the original software that is messed up or some internal hardware component has a fault.
but was wondering if there is anthing left to try...or would it potentially be possible or worth trying to root a tablet in this condition?
As although I have not ventured into the wild worlds of rooting.....I am now pretty confident of messing with this tablets mind..and have little to lose...so any further ideas and help would be great.
Exact same here. Never flashed, totally stock N8010. My wife hadn't used it for a couple of weeks. So she grabs it again and it was off. booted to nothing but the boot logo. Nothing worked except Download mode.
Flashing stock roms has Odin reporting success, but it still won't boot up. Trying re-Partition does give a fail as soon as I press start.
And we aren't alone. It appears there are quite a few of these cases. I have no idea how to solve this.
I have done a bit of rom flashing on my old galaxy S (the first one) and bootloaders and such usually were included in a ROM. Rooting was done with Recovery or an app and I think it was also possible with adb, IIRC (it's been a while).
It's my wife's Note and she's starting to scope out mini iPads...
Same problem with GT-N8010
I am also having the same problem.
I tried to upload a new ROM via ODIN. All was successful from the ODIN app (PASSED). but stuck on the boot screen. Power and Vol up does not work (it appears to but then crashes out to the boot screen again) so no way to do a hard factory reset.
Volume down/power does work and allows you to get to Odin mode. but as above, uploading a new ROM does not seem to work.
This is an un-rooted GT-N8010 with the stock ROM when I purchased it back in 2013 I believe.
Come on guys, give us some ideas.
Thanks
Gene
Sounds like wrong model firmware flashed as that's the usual bootloop problem .
Try Odin firmware flash wait to passed then remove battery for a short while and replace and try recovery mode .
In my case there is no incompatible firmware issue... The tablet just stopped working one morning and that was that.
Can't comment on the other posters though.

My wife's the same. Never done anything to it. No idea how to remove the battery. I let the battery run down once, then recharged it, made no difference.
That was before trying to flash the new firmware. My Note says N8010 on the back, it says so in the download mode. I got a firmware from SamMobile for the N8010. Don't know what else I can do.

Recovery Mode Issue - Fails Update

I have a SM-G930FD Grey Market via Ebay to the US (UAE Version). I've been having some funny issues where it randomly changes the active SIM card on me. I thought maybe I should try flashing a new stock but during that process I discovered a weird issue that I can't get fixed. When I go to recovery mode the "installing update" screen comes up for a few seconds followed by a new screen that shows a warning sign with an exclamation point then a dead android with "x's" over it's eyes. The phone then goes to boot mode. Is this normal? If not, what do I do?
I should also note that the phone has been locking up - at least once a day.

Hi
No that is not normal.....
Can you get into download mode?.........
Just in case download an called PhoneInfo and make a refurbish check......
Thanks for your reply! Yes I can get to download mode and can connect to Odin. I flashed a stock rom but am still having the issue. After flashing sammobile stock the phone updated twice no issues.
Phonecheck says the phone is original....
I tried to push TWRP but it doesn't seem to load...
Any thoughts?

Flashed stock and same issue? no errors during flashing (odin)
At what point fails TWRP installation?
I'm going to try flashing TWRP once more this morning and will let you know.
I was able to get TWRP working and now am running Superman. Hopefully it will be stable. This still didn't fix the SIM card switching issue which is a huge bummer....

Help with apparently hard-bricked phone?

Tried 3 different versions of Odin, it always fails after boot.img ("complete write operation failed")
My phone model is G920I.
I'm stuck in the exclamation mark screen. Only thing I can do pressing buttons is reach the download screen. Can't access recovery.
Can I flash TWRP through odin and try installing a firmware stored in my ssd? Or that wouldn't even work seeing as I can't get pass the ! blue (green?) screen anyway?
Worst part is, I don't even know how this all started. I got a notification that a new update was released, but my battery was low, the phone died, I left ir charging and it wouldn't turn on the other day. I probably ****ed something up in the recovery screen (it was accessible in the beginning) and now I can only access the !/download screen.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do? Thanks in advance.

Charge you battery a bit anyway, to be sure there is minimum 30%. Then flash latest 7.0 firmware correctly for your model via Odin3 with latest drivers: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...official-stock-firmware-t3086387/post73935393 here you found all.

Made a new thread because my problem seems slightly different and I explain about it. Don't see how it could be prejudicial to the forum but thanks for the hint.
My phone is only on when connected with cable, either to the computer or charger, When I still had access to recovery mode, it said 99% battery. Now I don't even think I can check the battery? All I know is when the phone is not connected, it stays off.
I've tried using a couple of supposedly stock firmware from my model but the error is always the same. Gonna try downloading one from where you linked me to, but do you really thing it could make a difference, considering everything I've said?
Thanks in advance.
