Version Information
ROM OS Version: 6.0.x Marshmallow
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.0.72+
Build Status: Release Candidate (M4B30X)
Based On: OMNIROM
NOTE: If lockscreen shortcuts suddenly disappeared, don't worry. Go to Settings - Display and just change font size. Shortcuts will reappear.
TWRP BUILDS
Created 2016-09-15
Last Updated 2016-12-05

First MTC20F build on tate. Sound doesn't work normally most likely because OmniROM has its own DSP Manager with some specific audio config files. Youtube doesn't stream videos likely because of audio issues. Audio streaming works separately, though. Will be fixed in the future. I made corrections after Slim6 release, now there no glitches. It must be one of the fastest (if not the fastest) MM ROMs on Kindle.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
1. The previous build was removed (there is no sense to keep it)
2. Sound is fixed
3. Bootanimation is fixed
4. Source released

P.S. I'm switching to Omni due to its performance and enough customization

VERSION WITH WORKING DSP MANAGER

DSP Manager works with Dolby, it was just a typo

I'm on it too and it's good.
I found one interesting thing: in settings-lockscreen "custom application shortcuts" disappear after reboot. BUT nothing to worry about - go to settings-display and just change font size. Shortcuts will reappear.

Alex, is there a way to disable lock screen? Don't see an option to disable lock screen under lock screen in settings.

Yes, with other builds of cm13 that is what I had been doing, but under security that option is missing for some reason. That's why I was asking thought it was somewhere else in omni. Can you confirm that option is available in your version you are running?

Absolutely. I've remove pin then chose "none" and here we go - no lockscreen. Then I chose pin again.

Strange, I don't see that as an option. I will try to upload a screenshot.

UPDATE (M4B30X)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767106140
Installation: Full wipe/Flash ROM + Open GApps
What's new:
- Compiling problems resolved by adding specific bowser_ota_from_target_files.py, no need to tweak source files anymore
- I made this build specifically for myself, so I switched back to 3.0.72+ kernel because I trust it more that 3.0.101 (Hashcode didn't upgrade kernel version for some reason)
- New poll: 3.0.101 kernel vs 3.0.72
Also, stock Calendar, Apollo (audio player) are removed. You can download it if you need (links in the description). Also, I highly recommend you to remove Chromium browser, I haven't removed it because some unexpected errors could occur (again if you need it - download link in the description). Camera2 was removed entirely.

I had issues trying this one, after flashing just cycles omnirom logo.

You have to wipe everything, use TWRP 3.0.2, flash ROM + Open GApps (arm, 6.0, pico) then wipe dalvik/cache and reboot. Honestly, I don't know what are you talking about. I use last Omni build for now.

I'm using the older version of TWRP maybe that's it.

Like every build by yours
Your build always awsome, hope this more and more...
will try and report soon.
My report:
Same problem...
- auto rotate bug and sound bug (after device deep sleep )
temp way to fix this,
Reboot device > when finished booting, just rotate your device and open lock screen...
magically device will have sound again.
(the point is sound will working again after device rotating - is this mean auto rotate and sound bug are linked probem???)
NOW, about gapps...
i created gapps that fully working on every marshmallow...
it based on PURE NANO OPENGAPPS and PURE "pulled" NEXUS 7 2013 SYSTEM PARTITION.
so, it clean and pure gapps for grouper.

@GtrCraft: Perhaps it would be a good idea to list which GApps will work with this ROM in the OP. A lot of people have asked this question from other Marshmallow threads.
I can confirm that Banks Gapps work with this ROM. Here is link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=41020

First of all great ROM but... I miss NFC ?
keep calm and have a Nexus
Is anyone else having problems installing Google Play Games? I am fairly certain it installed the first time, but then I had to reflash the ROM after a bork on my part (full wiped in between) and it doesn't install anymore. Tried Banks's Dynamic GApps, benzo GApps and 1 other on 3 separate installations.
EDIT: Happens even when setting up as a new device.
Either I'm missing something or this is just not meant to be.
EDIT2: Works fine on the Pure AOSP Marshmallow build posted by vocoderism. Very odd...
Is there a built in interface for applying layers? also i could not find the settings for clock as listed in OP under minimal tweaks, but i admittedly flashed late last night just to fiddle around. I didnt root and installed bitsyko layers manager, but without root it was no go (should have researched more). either way, is there a built in manager or is bitsyko the way to go?

My nexus 7 is also running pretty well and changing the DPI wasn't an issue. I rebooted multiple times and nothing is corrupted! Awesome ROM! ^^ Performance in Shooty Skies is better since there's only very minimal lag.

Factory reset may not be required depending on what rom you are coming from. Did you wipe /system? Nano worked for me.

Thanks, pico worked. I was coming from cm12.1 and did try wiping system, but still got insufficient space with nano.
Thanx a lot for this build! Is it able to update using cmupdater? It is the first mm build i think to migrate from OrionLP. Orion was the best for me among lp builds

FAQs.
1.ROM is based on?
* Roms is Based was AOSP-CAF now its fully rebased to pure CAF with few lineage elements.
2.Supports 4k Video Recording?
* Yes , use SnapCam included in the Project Build.
2 Changelogs?
- Please check my commits on Github or the changelogs section in Settings->About Phone.
3. Does VertexOS work with other GApps, TWRPs, firmwares, SU, kernels, tweaks, Viper4Android, etc?
- Please feel free to try, but I may not give support for issues caused.
4. Deep sleep issues?
- Reboot or clean flash.
5. Mobile network issues?
- Toggle airplane mode to see if it fixes the problem. Please check your APN and Preferred Network Type in Mobile Network Settings. If your APN is missing, please share the APN you want me to add.
6. Why is the security patch in "About phone" outdated?
This ROM tracks CAF, which lags behind AOSP by a bit. However, you shouldn't be worried about this because CAF brings in the latest security commits even when the stated security patch level in "About phone" is outdated. Trust me, I've compared the commits of our CAF tag with the latest AOSP branch commits, and also with the Android Security Bulletin. Please just wait patiently for CAF to update the security patch string. I can easily change it and 'cheat' you guys, but I'm never going to do such a thing. So please be patient and know that your device has the security patches.
7. Facing odd drains and issues with apps (message notifications not showing)?
* Stop restoring them with Titanium Backup
* Stop using hacky tweaks
8. Google Play Services drains?
* Clean flash
* Stop restoring everything with Titanium Backup
9. Losing Magisk root?
* Don't enable the BusyBox option
10.Can I dirty flash over previous builds?
* Yes but you may face some issues.
11.Is it Pre-rooted?
* NO.
12.What about Google Assistant?
* Its in the Project by Default.
Awesome job bro
Keep up the good work

Currently known issues and their fixes:
ERROR 7 while flashing in TWRP
- Check if you have flashed the latest TWRP! Get it at the Downloads section.
SDCard is not writeable
- Should be fixed, needs testing.

So far so good. Here's what I noticed so far -
Boot animation is too big, (I don't care about it, just reporting).
My TWRP worked fine to flash ROM and Magisk, but failed to flash other zips after ROM was booted, (error 255). I was using Russel's 3.1.1-0 fota. After switching to TWRP in first post, all flashing is fine.
Thanks...
Thanks for your work. Is it based on LOS or Carbon? How about camera? And call quality. I'm on lastest carbon build and call quality is not so good.

Try it and report
It should be the same, using almost the same trees, except some minor fixes.

We are fixing it. Some problem seems to be remaining for not f2fs externalsd.
Working so good so far. But there was turn on/off mobile data with one tap option in settings, can you add it in next update?
I forgot to say, there's no messaging app so you have to download a third party application.
Anyone else used systemui tuner to add navigation keys? I set dpad arrows on the ends, but they disappeared on reboot. I prefer scrolling navbar mod by ticklefish, since I use dpad a lot, and I don't like to take up space on navbar, but just wondering if it's a bug or just me... I did try Gravity Box N, and won't boot...

Doing exactly the same with dpad arrows - on Carbon Rom. They disappear on reboot. I have to change a single thing in these specific settings (called "Buttons" in "CarbonFibers") so they reappear. That bug seems common.

I just rolled with it for a time, and realized that they reappeared eventually, (maybe after systemui restart or something). Anyway, the function was still there, but the buttons were invisible. No biggie..
BTW - scrolling navbar mod won't work, (systemui crash). Not sure why. Going to keep messing with it...

Cool! So both Xposed and GravityBox are working on OmniROM?
Which Xposed release did you install? Please give some further infos, also about the Xposedbridge file.

As I currently have two Nexus 7s to play around with (as well as two Mi Pad 4s) I thought I'd have a look at this ROM and compare it to the Lineage 19.1 ROM I've been using on my other device.
No problem installing it after using CROSS to change the partition. Boot up time is quicker than stock Android 6. 0.1 but a little slower than Lineage. WiFi and Bluetooth work fine and I'd say it's a good working ROM but with no standout features to switch longer term. Nova Launcher is the default but you'd need to install the paid for / modded version to change things like icon size. I couldn't find a DNS setting in developer options and that is a minus for me as I use Adguard to block ads with that.
Great effort by the developer and it's another option for owners of this device.
Edit: after using this ROM for a longer period I now would say that boot up time is quicker than Lineage and it's very fast and smooth. It's definitely an option for those that seem to have Bluetooth issues with the Lineage build.
Rom is snappy so far... only issue i have is with waze and spotify crashing every time when opened..
Hey, i have problem with youtube app it constantly crashes when I'm trying to open it. I installed google MicroG from link above since first one didn't work, and sometimes i get notification that "this app needs google play services but your device does not support it" and when i tried to update google play services it says error conflicting versions. What it might be ? Is there a way to fix it ? or GA package ?

If you use GApps, then download the latest arm-7.1.2 from https://bitgapps.github.io/, clean flash it along with the ROM and then try opening youtube.
If you want to stay with MicroG, then use alternatives like NewPipe for viewing YT content (I too use it)

Of course I have no issues now , thanks.
before, I installed a wrong version of Elemental X , that's why black screen.
There are no updates in ROM source (Albert (krasCGQ)) which is why no new builds as of now..
I may have been too hasty to write above message
@SirRGB has revived the project by maintaining it with latest security patches and other helpful cherry picks!
All thanks to him _/\_
