So I've searched the forums and can't see it's been asked and answered - does anyone know of any cases that don't have a headphone cutout?
I never use corded headphones (I have multiple wireless earphones) and having the cutout there just allows a lot of dust and dirt to get into the case.
Does such a thing exist for the Nexus 6P?
Never seen one. The Ringke Fusion has a plug that covers up the headphone port tho, that's probably as close as you'll get.
My case
Hello,
I know it's not sleek, but... It works with pretty much any headphone connector.
EDIT: I completely missunderstood first post.... sorry... nevermind...
you can try the iPhone 7 cases
Just buy a set of these dust plugs?? https://www.amazon.com/Black-3-5mm-Headphone-Dustproof-Iphone/dp/B00AAB4TU6
Or this:

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I've gone and ordered a local variant of petzku's suggestion. It's not a perfect solution (lets dust inside the case but stops it getting inside the phone) but it's the most likely one for now.
If anyone does come across a case that offers this (3D printing customisation?) please feel free to leave another comment.
Since you said you own mutiple sets of wireless earphones for the 6p, do you have any favorites or recommendations?

Hi bikeryder007, happy to make a couple of suggestions. I have ended up with a premium set and a cheap set to fulfil my day to day needs. I did buy them a while ago though so not sure if they're the current best but I regularly recommend both of these to friends.
Premium - my main day to day ones are Jaybird Bluebuds X (https://www.engadget.com/products/jaybird/bluebuds/x/). I bought them over 2 years ago but they are still going strong so I'd highly recommend whatever model has replaced this one in the market. The only drawback with these is I couldn't get the silicone tips comfortable in my ears so I use comply foam tips (http://www.complyfoam.com/). These have a really good sound quality, great battery life, and with the comply tips are very comfortable. I can't recommend these highly enough.
Cheap - I wear Mpow Swifts (http://www.bestbluetoothearbuds.net/mpow-swift-review-excellent/) when I'm working around the yard so I don't care if they are accidentally destroyed. I bought these about 12 months ago and they still have them in stock - http://www.gearbest.com/mpow-swift-_gear/. They were the cheapest at the time for me in Australia. I've dropped these in a bucket of poison that I was going to spray on the yard and ended up completely submerging these to wash them with soap thinking I'd lost them. However after a week of drying they fire up fine and have worked for several months since.
So if you want something cheap, go the Mpow, if you want high quality, go with a Jaybird.

You can always use dust plugs
i only have one case and its called Ringke fusion , it has a flap like thingie that covers the headphone jack , so you dont have to ever worry of getting dust in there.
i've had it on my 6p since i bought it day 1, which is roughly 4 months ago and it has been very good so far.
it can take minor drops.
have not had it fall down from too high yet.
it is very durable, but i am still waiting for my supcase unicorn beetle.(which is also a great case).

Hi,
Can someone post some high resolution photos from Nexus one sleeve included in the package?
How good is the sleeve and whether it protects the phone in case it hit the desk or when it is in our jeans pocket?
Thanks
I dropped mine on a hard floor from about 4 feet. The sleeve saved it but it still sounded scary. I'm still waiting for my silicone case to arrive.
The sleeve is nothing special. It's neoprene, perhaps 5mm.

I can say that it works very well as far as protecting your phone. I have a N1, but my cousin was trying to see if her Sprint Hero could fit in the sleeve and just when she put it in the sleeve, it fell on the floor. We slid it back out of the sleeve and apart from the battery door popping off, and we snapped it back on, all was well.
I have been using it and it seems to work well enough. It is slim and has the cute android on one side. I'm going to put the Zagg body protector when it comes out in conjunction with the sleeve.
Thank you all for the replay. I think I will stay with Clear-coat screen protector and the sleeve. but can anyone please post a photo of the sleeve ?
specially when the cell phone is inside the sleeve. I want to know whether the sleeve fully covers the phone or the phone is taller than the sleeve.
Thanks
It's actually a pretty good quality case. I would compare it to the one which came with the G1, just different material.

The same thing happened to me. i dropped mine but it wasnt 4 feet and the phone came out alright. like you said it was scary.
The case is nice, it is slim and cushy. That said I don't think it will protect it from serious falls. If you are careful its nice, it slips in and out easily and doesn't add much width of it at all.
I will be looking into other things as well...that you don't need to remove in order to use the phone but we will see. I hate adding width to the phone at all
The sleeve is just OK for now, until better protective cases hit the market!
Thanks everyone for sharing the pictures and your thought.

I think the sleeve does it's job, however I cannot hear my phone calls very well when it's in the sleeve, and if your trying to answer a call when you do actually hear it you have to hustle to remove it from your pocket and try to get it out of the sleeve to answer the call. It's tricky. I cannot wait for the 2 docking stations that are coming out at the end of the month. One for the desktop and one for the car. Both will use the little gold contacts on the bottom of the phone. So you do not have to use a docking station with a damn micro usb sticking out of the docking station, you will be able to just set your phone onto these stations, and it will charge without connecting anything.

Eh, who said anything about them coming out at the end of the month? They haven't been announced at all, much less given release dates. We only know about them because they passed through the FCC.
From my past experiences ...
... Just wanted to share this: I have had several similar sleeves that came with phones I have had in the past and here are common problems I have found with them:
(1) Most of them use glue in addition to stitching in their construction. After months of use (and possibly from body heat if commonly stored in pocket), the glue starts to marr the phone
(2) Most of them have nice soft OUTER finishes but not so on the inside. This is true for the N1 sleeve too. Feel the roughness of the edges and sides on the inside ... not sure anyone would really want their phone sliding up and down on that especially if the sleeve is snug.
(3) Most of them tend to double as screen cleaners if used a certain way (either on the inside or using the outside), but end up leaving surface scratches in the long run.
(4) Even the best of screen protectors tend to affect the screen resolution and/or viewing angle even if just slightly.
Granted that these experiences ranged over several manufacturers (Sony Ericcson P series, HTC, etc) and several skins/screen protectors, but I have now built up my knee-jerk reaction of a shudder everytime I think of a sleeve or a screen protector .... of course, thats just me
Just my two cents ....
On a side note, I am in search for a vertical flip style ("book style") for my N1.
I guess my logic is this: protect when not in use, but let me have the best resolution when IN use ... in case anyone knows of a good one, please let me know?
Thanks!
Doing a bit of research and came across these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002CVCK...de=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B002CVCK0S
And a few others.
Also - a lot of iPhone straps, but not a lot of confirmation, despite the similar dimensions, that the N1 will fit snuggly.
Anyone tried any of these who can advise on which are good \ bad? Any good ones I have missed?
There was a lot of arkmband discussion on another thread...maybe some scoop there.

Slip it in between your heart rate monitor band its not in the best position but it works for me.

I run with the Belkin armband (from when I had an iPhone), and sony bluetooth earphones. I find it fits the Nexus quite snugly, the sound quality is great even while sprinting and no cables!

It fits perfectly, but I haven't dared to do hard sprinting with it yet, since it's not a full coverage. It's like a silicon sleeve and the band goes through the back of the sleeve.

This works perfectly for me. The normal way of using it with the iPhone will not work with the nexus because the hole for the 3.5mm jack is on the wrong side. Rather than destroy the thing, I put it on upside-down and it has two holes on the bottom, one of which I can use. Also this way the flap that allows you to slide the phone in and that's supposed to keep the phone inside the thing is on the top and somewhat secure thanks to the 3.5mm plug. Also, I've used it on about 15-20 different runs and it's never bothered me or showed any signs of wear.

Never even felt it was there, i can still swype text. Never really even thought it would be comfortable. I had to put it up higher than my bicep... If you have over 17" Biceps this would be a uncomfortable product.

Try the one I linked to. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be disappointed.
non of these places ship to Australia
I use the Belkin Sport Armband - but I wear it around my wrist so the N1 ends up riding like a big flat watch. The RunKeeper app is really well done, and wearing it like this allows me to see pace and distance, etc.
I haven't tried it with headphones yet.
I just got my Tuneband a couple of days ago. The days I got it I used it one the treadmill for a 30min jog at 6mph and no issues. Yesterday I used it at the gym on the weight machines and no issues either. I figure if it the N1 did pop out at least the speaker wire should keep it from hitting the floor. But it felt solid the whole time. Good product, especially when it was 12.99(?) on sale at amazon.
I ended up buying some iphone armband for like $7aud. Went for a 10KM jog the other weekend, and i cant fault it!!!
I had to cut a hole for the nexus one head fone jack but other than that perfect! Just on the outside of the where the phone sat was sweaty but inside not one drop!
Anyone else use the G2 with an arm band? I'm thinking of it since I don't want to go out and buy an ipod nano.
Which one are you using and how's the fit?
I have a feeling the G2 feels a bit too heavy for comfortable running, but it's worth a try to ask!
G2 is a bit heavy for armband imo
l think they cost around £10-20 so if you want to use it for running i would just
buy an ipod shuffle £30 or sony Walkman W-series £27 it is waterproof (if where you live rains all the time like here in scotland) and it doesnt have any wire.

^------------ Pretty much what he said. another option though, as it may sound silly is to have a light belt with a side pouch to put the phone in and keep it secured. you can probably combine that with your housekeys and necessary cards and have a 1 pouch for all.

I just hold it in my hand, and I'm a girl. Not very comfortable but it's not the end of the world.
nano and shuffle don't have GPS on them and I can't google tracks or CardioTrainer on them.

search this forum for iarmband to see what people think. They are $15 iarmbands.com
I used one for my G1 and loved it. When I upgraded to the G2, I got an iarmband to fit it. I also use my iarmband to 'mount' my phone on exercise machines at the gym using the strap doubled over and velcroed with the additional tab.
I began using a football wrist coach with my Touch Pro a few years ago and my G2 fits nicely, as well. (google or bing "football wrist coach" to see more versions than you'll ever need) I stumbled on this while trying to find something in my stash of extra parts to secure the relatively brick-like Touch Pro to my upper arm and reduce the flopping during runs. The wrist coach holds everything securely and I'm not constantly having to readjust it.
When running, I have it rotated so the clear panel is facing away from my body to prevent the phone from hitting my torso. When riding, I have it rotated so the clear panel is on the inside of my wrist, which is convenient for quickly glancing down at the screen while in the aerobars or drops.
Cons:
- the come in several sizes, so you need to find a sporting goods store to assure you choose one that will fit your device and your arm
- you may need an extension cable for your headphones if you want to listen to music on your device while running; the swing of your arm can pull the earphones out of your ears easily - not a problem while riding typically.
e.g. My high-end Shure earphone cables are modular and work perfectly, whereas my mid-range $50 Sony's cables are too short for running comfortably.
As always, YMMV

Finally received and tried the iarmband. It works for my runs. I like that the touch screen works through clear screen cover. Issues are the headphone hole is not perfectly aligned. It is a little tight on the arm, could have more ajustability. Overall I am very happy with this solution, issues are minor. I would recommend.

I bought the Arkon SM armband for my G2...
I had read this thread plus the one over at androidforums.com before selecting it.
Here is the link.
EDIT, guess i need to make a couple more posts to put in a link....ok so here is the link text then for someone to copy if desired.
amazon.com/Arkon-Sm-Armband-Blackberry-Motorola-Smartphones/dp/B004VFFT3I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327086415&sr=8-2
It works ok, although to make it real tight like i like it I put on 2 wristbands first (even though its up on my bicep area), then slide the thing on. Also, any case for the G2 must be taken off for it to slide in....even then its quite a tight fit. Not something you just pop in and go, gotta work it a tad. This is due to phone width, not.....face size....I guess.
Overall, pleased for the 16 bucks i dropped on it.
I bought a cheap armband a while ago off Ebay similar to this.
Works perfectly for me. Touchscreen works through the transparent plastic window.
Had to cut off a very small piece of the neoprene for the headphone plug to fit.
Hey I've read another thread on this but it's a few months ago but I'm curious if anything has changed.
Any news on whether they'll be releasing the Nuud for the S5? And if they've fixed the sound issues with the Fre? I may just settle for that one.
Also your opinion on another waterproof case?
Thanks for any input.
Life proof said they weren't making a Nuud for the S5 I believe. The Otter box Preserver is a better choice over the Fre.

I am here researching the S5 as a new phone, but i can comment on UAG cases since the design is still the same as mine:
I have had a UAR case for about 1.5 years on my S3, that got submerged for about 10 seconds yesterday, but had no effect and did not ever trip water indicators.
UAG case fit is extremely tight, and the buttons were a little stiff to start out. Over a year later it is still fits tight but buttons are perfect. IT developed a hairline crack in the bottom 1/2 that makes it easier to get in in out than it used to be. The protection is awesome as i routinely come home and toss the shone face down across the table. 0 scratches or dents. The case has also survived multiple falls form 4-6 feet onto concrete with no sign of damage to case or phone.
The one issue i have is that the case really traps in the heat, and playing graphically intense games makes it quite hot, as well as increasing the cool down times that come from sitting in a waterproof box in the sun on a boat all day long.
Work phones are Iphones in otterbox defender cases. If someone needs to use the phone they take it out of the case since it is a PIA to use/hear/talk with the otterbox case. Also these cases are looking rough after rolling around in vehicles, being dropped, and sitting in the sun for long days.
between the two I would got for the UAG, however the case looks really bland after a while and I am wanting something a little more interesting for when i get a S5.
I have a UAG case as well as the Preserver. The problem I have with the UAG and most cases is that it's tough for me to remove the charging port cover from the phone. I don't have fingernails. So I installed one of those wireless charging pads under my battery door. But that removed the water resistance of the phone. So having the wireless charging in the Otterbox Preserver is perfect for me. Wireless charging and it's still waterproof. The UAG is nice, but if you hate removing that charging door, you'll hate it even more with the case.

I disagree. I have owned the Preserver and returned it for the LifeProof Fre. The Preserver did not hold tightly together and a drop of < 2 feet would cause the front to become separated from the back which would allow any water to enter into the case. The phone itself is only waterproof for 30 minutes at 3 feet. I love the LifeProof Fre and haven't had any issues in the month of owning it. Been thrown, dropped, submerged, compressed in pocket and not a single thing wrong with the case or phone. I HIGHLY recommend the LifeProof Fre. Also, I think I have a solution to the charger port cover being hard to get to.

Charging port is enough reason for me to pass. It's already difficult with short finger nails so it'll be down right impossible with that case.

90? Should be around 70 or 80. I actually think there may be an issue with the mic. Second person stated I sounded muffled.Gonna call them and see if they'll replace it. Haven't read any bad reviews.

I would trust a zip lock bag over that cheap looking POS to keep my Note 4 dry. Just my crazy opinion. :silly:
I've got a Spigen Tough Armor for general everyday use, shame the mainstream case makers don't do anything IP Rated.

Just ordered this one from Supcase. Will have to see when it arrives. 6-23 arrival no prime shipping on the unit.

I have seen that one but last few times I've ordered from the US I've been stung by import tax in the UK.

Ghostek Atomic Waterproof case for Note 4
I found this on Amazon, i can post links yet. But does anyone have experience with this brand on previous devices. Its on preorder for 14.95, regular 79.95. I thought i would give it a try since lifeproof has no plans for making a case for the note 4, according to there reply to user inquiry on facebook.
I asked that question too and got some not to good replies. On Ghostek. They seem to sell a lot of other companies cases just rebranded is what I took from it.

This case looks badass. But it really urges not to submerge which is probably the only reason I'd buy a water resistant case :/
I've had the case yesterday, left it submerged in water about 1 foot deep, all night! With some tissue paper inside and no water got in.
The case is cheaply built hence the price, and you can barely hear through the ear piece, but works OK on speaker phone. Only wanted it as an occasional case if I know I'm going to be in a wet environment. In the meantime I'll be waiting for UK supplier for SUPCASE waterproof.

Ordered same as op and tested it without the note 4 inside and it worked so I trusted it with the phone also and it's been holding up very well. It's call audio is shot though but I don't care as I'll only be using this for underwater photography

I just want some water resistance as lots of times I am out in bad weather. I hate having to fight with ATT over insurance which is what I have to do it seems anytime I have had to deal with them on it.
Underwater photo/video

Did you ever get to use it underwater? Did you shoot any video? I would like to use this at a water park. I bought the ghostek for my note 4 & it appeared to be working fine. However, I recently caught it leaking water in a 4th test I conducted. When I submerged it, I immediately noticed tiny bubbles escaping from the flip cover at the bottom. My Spen was wet. Now, I am hesitant to use it as a cheap alternative to a GoPro. Also, the responsiveness of the screen underwater is very hit or miss. Very difficult to get the camera button to operate. Thanks in advance.
Yes I've used it underwater pleanty of tines. Never leaked. Only thing that annoys me is the ****ty sound that comes with all underwater cases
