Hi,
I have the note 10.1 (n8010) I am currently using Lirokoas CM13 build
The kernel that comes with this ROM is this https://github.com/littlelerroyy/android_kernel_samsung_n80xx
However I want to use this kernel instead (is newer, has f2fs support, want it for the basis for new modifications, etc) https://github.com/littlelerroyy/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4412
I have cloned the cm13 branch and compiled using the cyanogenmod_n8013 deconfig.
When i flash using the ramdisk supplied by the stock kernel. The system doesnt bootloop, it simply shows a black screen and never boots.
I need to know what I could be missing or what i need to start to do to fix this issue. Please ask any relevant questions, All suggestions welcome.
Cheers.

Hi everybody,
I'm using CyanKang on my Nexus 4 device. As of late I'm still able to flash a custom kernel, but after boot up my screen color is just garbage.
I read the CyanKang thread and Schubi (one of the main developer) wrote something about "having not implemented CAF media drivers". Could this be the reason? And if so, what is the technical explanation
I would have asked directly, but as this is my first post ... Well you all know the rules
So thanks in advance.

the kernel contain the drivers for hardware, so i agree this is be'coz of the driver not right to your Nexus 4.

Thx for the reply.
I know that all hardware support comes through the kernel and kernel modules. But what I don't understand, the same kernel happens to function with other roms or e.g. vanilla CM10.2 (on my Nexus 10).
So what could be the reason for one and every custom kernel not working with this kang?
Thx IcedTux
Ok after some more searches I found something in Francos Kernel thread.
There is a AOSP colorfix.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46223069&postcount=9677)
I flashed the kernel, flashed the fix and voila... works.
Still I don't understand what the fix is supposed to actually do. The zip contains some liboverlay...
So if there is anybody who could satisfy my curiosity :cyclops:
thx

Hm... are you talking about leaving Boeffla-Kernel or moving to Boeffla-Kernel?
If you leave Boeffla-Kernel, you do not need to use any cleaner script. Boeffla stores everything under /data/.boeffla, and this cannot be used by any other kernels.
If you move to Boeffla, also usually no cleaning before required.
Only exception: If you were on a kernel before that stored all his configuration into init.d scripts, then you should cleanup your /system/etc/init.d folder before flashing Boeffla.
That's all however.

ALL: Google is again playing games and locked down the first of my 3 donation apps in Playstore. Of course no compelling reason provided.
But as I already prepared for that half a year ago, I would like to remind you to use your personal unlock key to gain donation functionalities.
If you have not yet generated (this can be done in the donation app itself) and entered it into Boeffla-Config, it is now urgent to do that!!!
I cannot ensure Google will not lock down the other two donation apps as well soon, so you should be prepared now.
From my side, next Boeffla-Config app version will not support these donation apps anymore but only personal unlock codes.
Also, I will replace remaining donation apps in Playstore very soon (today or tomorrow) with a dummy app that tell users to get in touch with me manually.
Thanks for understanding... and alohas Google, all done wrong, guys there.
Cheers

Absolutely, take latest 3.0-beta version for your device (n8000, not the n801x version).

Thanks a lot, the kernel is fantastic.
Hi from Russia. Excellent operation! I tried to pay, but my payment system of it doesn't allow to make. Sorry. The kernel for N8000beta5 isn't set through TWRP2.8.3.0 "error bynary". I set through Odin. Everything is great. Good luck!
And you can also use Boeffla-Config app to flash kernel updates now.
Surprised twrp throwing an error, s3 and opo kernels flash fine with twrp. But I only report what others say, I never use twrp. I am a philz touch guy...

OK! I set Philz v6.48.4. The kernel of beta5 was normally stitched. Last versions of kernels were normally sewed on TWRP. Thanks! Good luck!

But this is unexplainable then... the flash binary has not changed for more than half a year.
However I got to know in the OnePlus One thread, TWRP seems to have introduced some issues lately. But never used TWRP myself, so it is just second hand information I have seen.

Ah, but can be something else.
In order to avoid people are flashing wrong kernels, I put asserts in.
Could you please just boot your tablet and look in /system/build.prop file what the entries are there for:
ro.build.product
ro.build.model
ro.build.device
Many thanks
Andi
Ok, for the time being I uploaded the kernels again without the assert checks.
So be careful to not flash the kernel on a different device than the Tab10.2
Please redownload the zip again, it should work now also in TWRP.
Thanks

problem with boeffla kernel v3 beta 6 for samsung note 10.1 (n801x)
Hi ! I am using the samsung kitkat stock rom 4.4.2 rooted in a samsung galaxy note 10.1 (n8010). First time trying a kernel. I have tried to install the boeffla kernel mentioned in the title, both via odin and trwp, but i have the same problem once installed... when rebooting the tablet it just stays in a black display after the "samsung galaxy note 10.1" title. It just does not start, i have to boot in download mode and reinstall the stock rom via odin. Help please! I would like to try this kernel in my tablet ! Thanks!

Thanks for this ROM, it's very clean and smooth!
I have already asked in the Kernel thread the problem I am having. By the way, it could be the way I had installed the ROM. The thing is I am still having the lag (3 seconds each 30 seconds or so) so I don't know if it's the Kernel or the way I had installed the ROM/Kernel.
I am going to go step by step into the process I have followed (the old ROM was the Samsung official one):
-> I have TWRP 2.8.1.1 and Root access <--
0. Copy the ROM rev1.2 and Kernel v2.9 in the SD-Card and reboot into recovery mode.
1. Wipe the first 4 options of the recovery TWRP, Dalvik, Cache, etc..
2. Install the lastest ROM Rev1.2 -> Restart and configure the Tablet
3. Install the lastest kernet v2.9 -> Wipe Dalvik and Cache --> Restart
4. Keep with the lagging
I have tried to clean the synapse configuration but it still with the lag.
What do you think about it? Do you still with the lag some of you?
Best Regards,
Javier
Tried to share stuff via NFC, but don't have Android Beam in the share options. It won't receive stuff from my Nexus 5 either. Is the stock Samsung rom like that or has NFC functionality been stripped out?
Recommended for performance?
I'm semi-new to installing roms etc, and I just ordered a P900 Note PRO.
I'm hearing some good things about this rom and kernel, but no real specifics about performance.
Are they recommended for a general performance boost?
Does the s-pen become more responsive? No difference?
I just don't know if it's worth tinkering with a brand new system (thus voiding warranty) if the gains aren't significant enough.
[rom+kernel][4.4.2][sm-p900] xef
Hi,
Thanks first to Civato and this community for your hard work.
As I bricked my brand new P900 (wrong name on “permission.xml” without backup) , I have to install a new firmware.
My CSC is “XEF” for France. Civato or Android.Ninja, may you please send me the aroma for this region?
That's the first time I install aroma. If I understand, all I need to do is to dowload and place on my sdcard:
- CivZ-P900-XXUANK2-Rev1.3_signed.zip (a special one for XEF)
- CivZ-P900-REV3.2.zip
I install them follow by a full wipe and I have a light fully functional tablet
Do I miss some steps?
Re: [rom+kernel][4.4.2][sm-p900] xef
I may not be in a lively forum: there was no answer about my request.
Without more hinds, I wasn't able to install the aroma zip files because of errors returned.
For the moment, I miss my tablet so I get back to stock.
Also, I close the request for some moment.
Slovak language on P900 note pro civaz rom
Please add slovak language THX
Is it possible to apply the red underline spell check fix to this ROM? I'm not sure if installing the default fix in other threads for other ROMs would break this one.
The OP said no special requests.

Some of you may be familiar with my SkyHigh kernels. I'm currently supporting most of Note5 and some S6 Edge+ models.
I may be able to support a couple S6 variants, but will require something from you.........................
If any G920F user wishes to contribute, then please post the latest stock boot.img from G920FXXU3QOLF firmware.
You can download any extract from either sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
If you can confirm what your device directory is:
Code:
/sys/devices/battery.[COLOR="Red"]54[/COLOR]/ (which number do you have?)
As I don’t have your device, but my Note5 uses most of the Exynos7420 source, I believe it shouldn't be any issue. So if someone does this, I may be able to contribute to your forum

F and I may be compatible source. I would need to check the defconfig for both, as well as the base ramdisks.
So, please send through the OKB boot.img. It's older than the F firmware, but I still can check.

/sys/devices/battery.52/ - This is on Xstreolite ROM which is currently using COI9
Boot.img is from the the following: G920FXXU3QOLF_G920FORO3QOL6_G920FXXU3QOL6_HOME.tar
Stock kernel from G920FXXU3QOLF. I have /sys/devices/battery.52/

I have been into installing custom ROMs and rooting Android for many years now, used many mid range Android devices, never tried to build one from source (did not have good enough hardware or broadband), now I have got both and want to try building ROM from source and got many questions, any help would be appreciated.
Important questions:(Need these answers before I start downloading Repos)
Is it possible to create any Android version Rom for any device? like I used to have Moto G2, if I can get it's source code, can I build Android 11 Rom for it? or am I missing something here?
I own Realme 5 Pro now, if I build Android 11 and flash it, is there any chance it could hard brick my device?
If I'd built Android 11 for R5 Pro, how would I know it's for my device? can I flash that firmware on another device? or vice versa? I know that flashing other device firmware can hard brick your device.
What are the chances of getting bugs after flashing? like ril not working, or maybe settings wont open, camera wont work etc. and how can I fix them for my specific device?
How can I ensure that the specific build only works for R5 Pro and not other device? like do I have to sign it with specific code or anything like that? any idea?
Not so important questions:(You can answer it if u know)
How much download is necessary to build from source? If u have built, is there any specific download size or different for specific devices?
Also if I want to build TWRP recovery for R5 Pro from scratch how would I go about doing that? and what about giving it a different theme style?
How long will it take for my specs pc to build? any estimated idea? (specs: 16gb ddr4 3600mhz ram, Ryzen R5 3700x, Nvidia 2060 Super, and lots of space)
Can I build this Rom to be flashed via recovery or is it has to be fastboot specific?
Can I build Android Kitkat or something old for newer devices?
So these are the initial questions that comes to my mind, I am posting this thread on some diff forums too, if u have any experience regarding this please do share, any help is appreciated, Thank you.
