I have a Nexus 5 on 6.0.1 and I'm wondering what tool to use to root it. I've never done rooting before, so bare with me here.
Please Try this.
1. Enable USB Debugging in your phone from Developer options.
(To enable Developer options, go to Settings >> About phone >> Tap 5 times on Build Number)
2. If you’ve not installed USB drivers for your device then wait for the device to automatically install them. If it doesn’t, then download them from here.
3. Download and install iRoot.
4. After successful installation, open it.
5. Connect your Android device to the computer.
Once your device is successfully connected to iRoot, it will automatically detect your device.
6. Now click on “Root” to start rooting process.
WARNING: Don’t touch USB cable while rooting is being done as any interruptions may cause hard-brick (permanent device failure) to your device.
Once successful root, your phone will automatically reboot.
7. Now download and install SuperSU from Google Play store to control root permissions.
Done!
That’s all. Your device is now successfully rooted. To check whether your device is successfully rooted or not download Root Checker from Play Store

DISCLAIMER: Rooting your phone will void your warranty, and can be dangerous. You may end up with a “bricked” device if anything goes wrong. I take no responsibility if something happens to your device. If you are ever in doubt STOP! This is not something to take lightly!
While rooting is reversible, it’s not something you should ever plan to do. Use some common sense here. If you don’t understand the consequences of what you are doing, DO NOT ROOT YOUR PHONE! You have been warned.

So you have bought the GT-S5282 and after getting bored of playing with it have decided to give the ultimate treatment to your new toy, ROOT IT!!!
Well you have come at the right place. Today I will share with you friends a ridiculously easy way to root your Samsung Galaxy Star Duos. Your droid should be running stock firmware and you need Windows OS running on your computer.
Just follow the steps mentioned below carefully:-
1. Download the version of Cydia Impactor for Windows OS from this link www.cydiaimpactor.com
2. Install your device drivers by installing Samsung Kies on your PC and then connecting your phone to your PC via data cable. The device drivers will be installed automatically after few minutes.
OR
Alternatively you may install ADB drivers from the given link adbdriver.com and after turning on USB debugging in the Developer Options of your droid and connecting it to your PC via data cable, clicking on the Install option the drivers will be installed automatically.
3. Enable USB debugging from Developer Options in your droid (if you have not enabled it previously) and connect your droid to your PC via data cable.
4. Extract the file downloaded in first step and run Impactor.
View attachment 2312448
5. The programme should be displaying the command # drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su as shown above. Click start and run this command in the Impactor and wait for a few seconds for the process to get completed. When the programme again displays the above command, WOW you have successfully rooted your phone!!!:highfive:
6. Last but not the least you need to install these free apps from the Play Store before you enjoy root privileges on your droid....
i. SuperSU - This is required to access Superuser privileges on your droid. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu
ii. BusyBox - This is required to install the BusyBox binaries on the rooted device which is needed to run some root apps. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en
NOTE: Installing the above two apps are a MUST to access ROOT features on the phone!!!
7. TADA! You are now free to enjoy your ROOTED Samsung Galaxy Star Duos and unleash the hidden power user within you...!!!
NOTE: This method only works on preupdated old firmwares. If you get "signature bugs unavailable" error, it means you are running the latest/updated version of the stock firmware which comes with the bugs patched. For you guys who get this error, you need to flash the old stock ROM released before August for your device. You can download the stock firmwares from here http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-S5282
You need to flash the stock firmware on your droid via Odin. For help regarding how to flash stock ROM via Odin, check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482371
If I have helped you to root your GT-S5282, please press the THANKS button...:good:
Hello to everyone.
I'm using Lenovo A560 and want to root it to delete all those junk, built-in apps so that my RAM usage will decrease. I have tried many times using various root software (rootgenius, kingo, framaroot) yet didn't successful to root my a560. I have already installed usb driver for lenovo a560. Anyone can help me? I already have tried to root my phone like in the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769260 thread but still the same problem occurred.
When i used rootgenius, my phone just reboot and reboot until 86% and the process failed. same on the kingo (except my phone did not reboot like before, it just failed after a reboot). In framaroot, the #error 6 message pop out.
Anyone can help me how to root my phone please? My phone system:
Android 4.3
Baseband ver : A560_A_0001_140330
Kernel Ver: 3.4.0-g80ec9c8-01182-gb30d6a7-dirty [email protected] #6
Build Num : A560_S010_143330
#just put every details for that i'm a newbie in these things. Any help would be very appreciated. (manual root not recommended, but still can try~)
Thanks!
Same problem here. Anyone can help please? Android 4.3 running on Lenovo A560.
problem solved.
I finally managed to root my a560 by installing the driver from the phone into the PC . Then I used iRoot to root my phone. It works! I followed the methods provided by a Russian blog (cannot post outside link because I'm a new user, credit to the blog)
Here's the methods (translated, contains grammar errors).
Remember, you're doing it at your own risk. The site administrator can not be held liable for the actions that you make.
1. Download and install the program on your computer VRoot
2. Disable antivirus (as needed).
3. Run the program, connect the device to your computer (if it is not defined, then try to install the drivers from the official site of your device). On the phone should be included: Debugging via USB, install from unknown sources in the USB connection must be uncheck MTP and Camera (RTR).
4. Once the device is determined, press the bottom right button green "ROOT", and wait.
5. Then, after the last window, the device will reboot (And it can be disconnected from the computer).
6. Root entitled to receive!
Russification (Thanks to Timur):
- Set on the PC this Chinese VRoot
- Put on sotik "Chinese" root-rights
- Then go to the Play Store, we set out SuperSU
- Run it, he will offer to update binary.
- Click to continue, and then click "OK". Pops request of the Chinese root.
- Press the right button zelёnenkuyu. After SuperSU say that the installation is successful, it will prompt you to delete other applications control root-access.
- Click "Yes" forward (SuperSU remove our "Chinese" and replace it with a more simply). Writes again about the successful installation.
Note : The phone will ask you something in Chinese after you root the phone. Just click the right button when the phone pop-up something after you root. This is because right button is the 'YES' and left one is 'NO' and i think that is the phone is asking for root permission.
P/s : for some reason I cannot delete the pre-installed software on my phone, even using root explorer. Anyway, the softwares that need the phone rooted can be installed.

I had to do the same last night. I used Sony PC companion to restore back to factory default after backing up all my data. Once the restore function finished, I allowed the OTA to go through. Once the OTA went through, I completed a factory restore via the bootloader screen (Call me overkill but i like a clean slate to work on). Before adding any apps or even my google account I used Kingroot to root the device with no issues. I do have one problem though, I cant seem to get SuperSU to install after using Kingroot, other than that, root was obtained and i started removing bloat and crap apps. Now... all i need is some help figuring out how to remove Kingroot and KingSu and apply SuperSu.

Thanks for the fast reply. I believe you have to flash Supersu through recovery.

I think the same thing. I just happen to be at work and dont have adb access on my workstation. Im going to have to play around with this once i get home today.
Here's the process I used to unroot my D6616 and install the new firmware (sorry, no links because I'm a new user):
--- MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE YOU START THIS PROCESS ---
1. (Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 only) Disable driver signature enforcement (google it).
2. Download the latest Flashtool from the flashtool (dot) net website. (Magnet link guarantees quickest download). Just like with most root tools, you may need to temporarily disable antivirus. This is due to the fact that "rooting" is accomplished by exploiting a weakness in your phone with a specially crafted virus.
3. Install Flashtool.
4. Run C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe and install the following drivers (if on Windows 8+, say yes to all prompts asking to install unsigned drivers):
- Flashmode Drivers
- Fastboot Drivers
- Xperia Z3 Device Driver (near bottom of list)
5. Go to the start menu and run "Flashtool" (or Flashtool 64 if you're on a 64-bit system).
6. Click the "XP" button in the toolbar and download the newest D6616 firmware (Xperia Z3 > D6616 > 23.1.C.0.385 / R15C > Download)
7. Connect your phone to the computer with a USB cable. Make sure it's in "Charge only" mode.
8. Click the "Flash" button in the Flashtool toolbar, select "Flashmode", select the D6616 firmware in the list, leave all other settings unchanged, and click "Flash"
9. Flashtool will start the process. It may ask you to unplug, power down, then replug (don't worry about the back button). The process should take about 5-10 minutes. Be patient.
10. DONE!!!
