XT1575 Android 6.0.1 factory image - X Style (Pure) General

Motorola updated their factory images download page. I checked it this morning and found this. Not sure if it really is 6.0.1. The release date for all device images is very recent, and the build number is similar to that of the 6.0 May security patch. Maybe a typo? Downloading it now, but I have to go to work so I cannot investigate.
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images#

I downloaded the file and the zip contents have a modified date of Feb-01-16. I believe this is a typo on the site, and 24-49-18_18 is the same build number as 6.0
If someone flashes, and it is 6.0.1... report back.

soo 6.0.1 or not

That image is stock 6.0, unfortunately. I figured it was since I knew 18-18 was stock, unpatched 6.0, but flashed to make sure.
Nice to see Motorola keeping everything nice and organized, just like their amazing customer service... SMH.

hopefully the idiots just posted the wrong image. there is really no reason why the 1575 doesn't have 6.0.1 yet.

Is that image updatable via OTA update? I read someplace it wasn't for some odd reason. That the user was not promoted to update to the Feb or May patch from that November release.

Yes it is. I got the February OTA from it and posted that OTA, along with a ROM with it applied, some time ago in the general forum.

No KitKat Update? SOLVED

I think I figured out why people aren't receiving the update on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3.
If you all remember, the previous update (which allowed roaming in Canada) had a build number of JSS15J.I535VRUCNC1. That is the exact same build number for the update that brings us to Android 4.4.2. I am assuming that since the previous update has the same build number, when we check for updates, Verizon thinks we are on the latest update. This is just a guess that I thought I should have some light shed on.

The build number has nothing to do with it. This would not be the first time Verizon has had the wrong build number in one of these PDF documents. People aren't receiving the update because it's not rolling out yet. You can read in the software update instructions PDF linked below that users can manually update starting today if they do it over WiFi. So the normal OTA automatic roll out likely has not begun yet.

No. Bold emphasis is mine. Verizon simply hasn't pushed the update out. It has been 24 hours since the PDF was uploaded. Verizon has a tendency to leave typos in their PDFs. They have done so at least twice since the S3 was released. Verizon is not that ignorant to leave the build number as VRUCNC1.
To be even more technical, let's take it to AOSP names. Our "updated" PDF still reads "JSS15R" for the AOSP name, which is JellyBean 4.3. KitKat 4.4.2 is named "KOT49H" in AOSP. Logic states, this is a typo. Here's the Factory Images for Nexus devices, to use as a reference for AOSP names per OS.

Update to 4.4.2 successful for me
I, too, was fooled by the NC1 update. What I forgot to do, which Tech Support (live chat) reminded me, was to check for an additional software update after the NC1 update. Sure enough, the 4.4.2 update was waiting to be downloaded and installed. The 4.4.2 baseband version/build number are I535OYUDNE1.
Oh--and it's rootable using Towelroot! Worked like a charm for me.

Not at all. I've attached a screenshot from Triangle Away.

Anybody actually seen the July or October 2016 security updates?!?!

July 2016 security update - https://motorola-global-portal.cust...wer_detail/a_id/112342/p/9390/kw/october 2016
October 2016 security update - https://motorola-global-portal.cust...wer_detail/a_id/116004/p/9390/kw/october 2016
Has ANYONE seen these at all, or is this some kind of Lenovo trick to say "look, we are putting out updates... I don't why you didn't get it" kind thing (doubtful, but who knows).
Just throwing this out there to stir the pot a little...
Checked on 6.0.1 with Marsh security patch but got nothing .. Don't know what Moto wanna tell us by this

Yes there is a thread for firmware files in general section where you can find the build for xt1550 with july security patches.
Some people are saying that they have successfully updated their phone with the security patch. I myself didn't see those. By any case, is it possible that the Motorola updater doesn't download security updates on unlocked bootloader devices (though that shouldn't be the case as per the FAQ)?

There is no sign the petition, even signed by over 16,800 users, has made any difference... We know Moto get an email with each and every signature, and yet they haven't even acknowledged it exists. Silence can be taken in many ways, maybe they think it will just go away if they ignore it, maybe they can't actually defend themselves for their decision, or maybe they just don't care.

Not absolute confidence, but absolute isn't necessary here, just significant confidence is enough... Moto has stated flat out the Moto G 2015 won't get Nougat, and they haven't wavered at all in that stance, there is no realistic reason to think otherwise.
But this thread isn't really about Nougat, but about the July and October security updates... which Moto wants people to think are out there somewhere.

New firmware B387 for FRD-L09

I have read online that we shoud get till end of May the 7.1.1
But we will see...
Any idea what these updates are for? It's not like they work anyway, so why put them on company servers etc?

I think that we will get some update soon .. first of all it was months ago announced that
we should get till end of May the noughat 7.1.x update..
Then again the chineese version of honor got an update ( B387 ) where the camera is updated
( to use the monochrome camera and some new modes )
and they got also a battery optimisation fix ..
So I think this all is just some things happening before we get some updates...
So it is good that something about our updates is happening...

Hi. I don't think so. My international unlocked FRD- L09 never received official OTA. Manually flashed all versions till now- B360, B380, B381... Waiting for OTA is a time waste. Huawei's own software update distribution are total nonsense.
I also doubt we will receive 7.1 soon...

Emui 5.1 does not mean Android 7.1.
Huawei P10 is running Emui 5.1 on Android 7.0.
If we get it, I'm sure it will be the same thing for us and also not in May.
I have FRD-L14, and got the B385 update OTA yesterday

Thanks for the info
Something is definatly happening
Couse one contact person from Huawei reported to xda user svetius regarding source code and the partnership that we should expect something happen end May or early June
And since yesterday in FF there is also new firmware B387
And some of users got yesterday updated
So I would say something is going on
Lets wait few more weeks and see if Huawei is doing what promised
Yeah in FF new FW is shown, but half of users still haven't received update to Android 7.
I don't expect any "revolution" in updating our devices.

Root - May 2020 Security Patch

Hello, everyone, I have the Samsung Galaxy S10e - model no. SM-G970F running the latest May 2020 security patch on Android 10. Would anyone know the best way to root and TWRP recovery it? I am looking for a 100% full-proof way if it is available. Thank you
Доброго времени суток! Посмотрите на 4pda.
Don't update to this ROM if you want to possibly mod your S10e any time because once you go to May 2020 you cannot regress to an earlier ROM.
Mine is a work device so I have updated but there was a warning in the notes that this is a feature.
I guess this is the point where Samsung start locking you out of modding it. Just don't go there if you care about that.

I was already updated to the May 2020 psych before I posted here - so, I can't go backwards anyways. Is there a way to root it, though?
i updated to may 2020 and was rooted with magisk and twrp but am now back to stock as i think samsung has put something in their latest update? !! - had nothing but problems, screen flashing totally unresponsive not sure whether rom was at fault or magisk needs updating ? or maybe twrp dont know but might try and go back to ct9 as that was stable, definitely something not right. update- once your updated no going back! nice samsung! take my freedom while your at it!!
all good now, was a little rusty! rooted once more, I flashed may update with April twrp! didn't realise it(twrp) had to be updated each time, thanks to the xda member who put me right
