Best ROM/Kernel for daily driver? - Samsung Galaxy S Duos

Hello everyone.
I've been asked to look at this model phone as my friend is suffering from low storage space. What is best ROM ooption for smooth&stable?
Are there any roms with kernel support for swap partition on external sd card? Any issues with using link2sd?
Many thanks, in advance

actionly , i test most roms here i didn't find better rom than stock
And there is ExQuiSite[CM11-12] by nico it's little faster and stable ... but advice you go to stock and modify it by your self by adding some build.prop tweaks and nitrox mod etc ..

Im currently running on ExQuiSite ROM by @Niko Belic 605 and its working great, i suggest u to use it and there is also another CM 11 ROM by @m4jonez, Both are great for daily use, Links to the threads are below, if u want to install any of them, follow the instructions given in the thread
Do note that both are Android 4.4.4 builds, except that ExQuiSite is themed like Marshmallow
ExQuiSite
CM 11

This is a good idea. :good: Stock Rom is to big and hungry.
I hope you build/compile a complete new Rom from AOSP source with fully tweaked kernel and add any options to setup the hardware. Only port a other Rom is not so good.
For HTC One V the user "1ceb0x" have do this and made the great Rom SHPONGLE . Times ask if he can help you do it.
Little Tip for better usermemory handling. Don`t mount internal SD. Mount only the external SD as the only one.
I'm counting on you because of a hardware perspective, the C2105 is a great device. :good:

the front cam won't work in any cyano rom, you should try some of the custom stock roms from hexgore http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690088
thanks for the fast reply.that was helpful.I wanted to know is there any support of firefox os for the htc chacha cause android sucks bandly on the device.i tried the simulator on my pc and it is like really smooth and light.Hope we get a port.

It's better that you stay in your current ROM, i mean your original ROM. because all of the CyanogenMod ROMs and other ROMs have a lot of problems. now some groups started to Compile a new KERNEL for chacha to solve this kind of problem. we hope that they can find a solution.
but if you have no problem with your ChaCha without Camera, follow this thread:

Stock!
To me the best rom for this device is...the stock rom! because all customs rom have many bugs or lags (like the last 10.1). Unfortunately the stock rom has the famous memory problem...
Thread Closed
As we don't allow best ROM threads, this is being closed as with all the others.
We don't allow these threads as there's no such thing as a best ROM and these threads usually spiral into disputes and arguments. To find out which ROM is most suitable for you, simply test out different ROMs for yourself.
Also, waiting for people's opinions may mean that you miss out on a specific ROM purely because it wasn't suggested by anyone else.

Yep U can get jb looks
Yes you can get the jb UI but the 4.0+ apps won't work. You can get most of the features of jellybean.
A simple example is Ace 5830i which don't have jb but you can get UI using custom roms.
where to get the custom rom for a9220

You have to search the internet for a Custom rom or here on XDA.
I recommend XDA since almost every ROM here is stable enough to run on the specific device
thnx for reply....

He meant that can it be ported.
@saisaranp Yes brother it can be ported .
sorry for the late..how it can be ported
hey piyush,
I am actually very new to this.So is there a custom rom available anywhere or whether it should be created??
Google it........
You can check for custom roms on Google and here on XDA ........
if you find one then its nice bt if you can't find one it may be due to lack of developer support....
if your device becomes popular it will surely have many custom roms.......
the best way is to ask any developer to make custom roms ......
and if you want Cyanogen mod better ask at cyanogenmod.org forums.........
no cyanogenmod at the website

[Q] A stable rom

Hello there,
I recently rooted my sister's Explorer because she kept complaining about low memory and lag. I rooted it but I guess I need to install a custom ROM on it as stock one is utter crap.
Because I am new to explorer forums can someone help me out with a stable rom which doesn't need a lot of tweaks and everything works as it should.
I had Wildfire S some time back so I am aware of ROMs and stuff but still as this is my sisters phone I'd like if someone can guide me what to do after I am done rooting. (How to install the rom and what partitions of sd card are required.)
Thank you!
EDIT: I shortlisted a ROM called "Exderoid Sense 5 Build#3.5"... What are your views on it? Any bugs? Everyday stuff!

Hi, brother, it would be better if you wouldn't ask for suggestions as it may lead to bickering and unwanted arguments between people.
As for the ROM.. I guess nothing is better than trying it out itself ! I guess the bugs will be mentioned in the ROM's OP .. and further bug reports in the thread of the ROM..
As for the ROM .. for (almost) all ROMs based on Sense 4.1 you need to create a 1 GB sd-ext partition on the Sdcard .. ext2 or ext3 is preferred..
Apart from this ROMs .. there are many other ROMs in this forum which are also pretty darn good. check the bugs out and try to install them , try and decide for yourself

No rom comparison threads please.
Try them yourself, there is no objective way to compare roms.

Advice Please regarding Marshmallow on Note 3

Hello.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 currently running the Vodafone official Lollipop ROM. I find it very sluggish and would like to speed it up.
Would I see any benefit in rooting my phone and going to CM13 or an alternative Marshmallow ROM ?
I have 2 apps that I use constantly - IBM Verse and VPNCilla, both of which I use for work. Would both of these apps work
on a custom ROM, as this would be a deal breaker if they did not.
If all of the answers to the above were yes, where would be the best place to download the necessary ROM etc, as it has been a while since I have done this.
Many thanks,
Simon

Yes marshmallow is more smooth relative to lollipop.
As for your apps it depends on the ROM, if the ROM you are using has a VPN bug it means you won't be able to use vpncilla properly ,just check known issues of the ROM before flashing to make sure
XDA is the good place to find development
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-0-t3238064 try any other if you don't like it ,lots of marshmallow based ROMs out there nowadays
