To discuss hands on real life battery performance of Gear S3.

Really! I mean REALLY....battery life again.....come on. its so subjective. While most posters moan about battery life on smart watches and mobiles etc I turn this point on its head and rather marvel at what such devices deliver considering they are powered by such small batteries.
The vast majority of mobile owners moan about battery and cannot accept the batteries limitations.
The watch is not even on sale yet but we can guarantee it will please a few and upset the majority .
If you want year long battery life one has to look at the conventional watch not the smart watches. Even better go automatic.
Too much amphetamines bro. Lol.
2 full days on Gear S now
I get 2 full days on my Gear S now, so am hoping the S3 does the same with Always On feature active. I do not mind charging daily though, not a big deal.
I get 2 - 3 days from my Gear S2 easily.

Hey guys...
I have yet to tweak anything on the watch and it is connected to my S7 Edge.
I get less than "a Business day" use out of the current out of the box set up. This is the NON-LTE version.
Things worth noting:
1. I do not use always on.
2. I have brightness set to 5 during the day and 2 at night.
3. GPS, Bluetooth, and location are on.
4. Have not altered the out of the box systems that monitor health yet.
5. I have added several apps, Flipboard, Gmail, Gcalendar, Uber, white light, google map, xenozu(you tube-player), calculator, remote camera, weather monitors 2 cities and several watch faces.
6. having it 100% charged at midnight/1am and no use other than sleeping with it on leaves the watch at 50% by 7am.
Anyone finding or knowing what tweaks and adjustments start saving on battery life...please let me know. I will report once I make a few changes as well.
I am sure with some simple changes, we will all be able to use the watch all day without charging it. Anyone that found any changes to their older S2 helped?
Dan
I have had the non LTE version Gear S3 since launch day. I can go through a full day (7 am to 11 pm) and the battery level is b/w 50-55%. I have been wearing the watch overnight to monitor my sleep the last several days. When I wake up around 7 am, the battery level is b/w 45-50%.

Display: Always On activated
Bluetooth: On
Wifi: Automatic
NFC: On

It is not Gmail or Gcalander...it is a Samsung or 3rd party app that syncs with my Google stuff. Again my apologies.

I can get 1.5 to 2 days of battery life. This includes roaming around for 2-3 hours a day without my phone. I had to condition the battery a few times (draining it to 0) before it would last more than a day.

i dont know what they did in the last update , but ive gone from almost 3 days to not even 1 day now on my frontier ... im not impressed at all, i missed my alarm this morning because of a flat fkn watch ....
I need to recondition the battery, but after turning off "diagnostic and usage reporting" I found that the battery life has increased from 1d12hr to 2d16hr. I feel like that had a huge impact.
Canadian S3 Frontier (SM-R760) on XAR. Have yet to use Samsung Pay, but it's on there now. See post #290 this thread for details on how to change Frontier CSC.

On Gear S3
Settings>About>Scroll down
it's second from last
My personal experience with the problem of strong battery drain on Gear S3 classical vers after updated with tizen 3.0:
- I have read that this was a common problem and several posts regarding this issue
- I have factory reset the watch
- I have changed my band from curved to standard. I had one of the nice curved version, I have changed with a standard band that allow the hearth rate monitor to be completely on my wrist. Please note that I have a relatively small wrist for others this may have no significance.
I did this because in one post I read that Samsung has changed the AOD setting to be managed not anymore by Gyroscope but by the heart rate sensor
- I have designed with Gear watch Designer several faces. I have observed that the main issue was that the AOD was not reducing the brightness.
Then I have designed a face having very lo brightness in the AOD version (6.6% ratio)
Now comes the strange......
- I have tested the watch for few days with the same settings (no wifi, no location, brightness level 5, AOD on, BT on) and doing the same things starting from full (nominal) charge 100% in the early morning .......
RESULT
- The first hour or so the battery level decreases very quickly until 90% (approx rate 10% in 1 hr) but then (...... surprise surprise .....). the discharge decreases and stabilizes for the rest of the day at a rate approximately of 4% per hr.
After 12 hrs of use I have about 45% of battery remaining
I believe that the watch does not charges completely in real and that the 100% is only nominal
ever since the last update, i have been getting a solid 6-7 hours of use out of the battery

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what options would keep my battery life up on the s2 3g.
I've had the watch for a couple days now and I'm trying to figure out which features drain the most battery.
I would like to keep 3g on (but it's not really necessary when sitting at my desk all day), bluetooth, and always on. I don't mind keeping the screen at a brightness of 3, and my watch face is a dark background, I have 6 apps selected for notifications.
I do not have gps, or wifi on.
I guess what would be helpful is basically a list of the most battery draining items on the watch. It would also be great to have a battery management app (for the developers out there) that could quickly turn on/off certain items. Right now there's a battery saving mode, a do not disturb mode, and airplane mode... these are all in different locations, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to have some more quick control over all these types of items and additional ones to just manage all the battery draining items, like the pedometer and other "ometers"... is there a way to turn those items off?
Overall I love the watch, but it would be nice to not be thinking about the battery so much... and just use it.
I'm wondering the same thing. Turned it on at around 6am, have brightness set to 1. Haven't used it that much. Wake up gesture is on but not screen always on. I'm at 30% at 2:41pm....with my gear s I was able to get through a 6am-9/10pm day on auto brightness and still have a little battery left (that included a 2 mile walk in the morning using some health exercise with gear s.) I haven't even used the exercise option in this (other than the pedometer) because I'm afraid it will drain the battery.
I love everything else about the s2 though
I'm suppose to get mine this week and battery is my biggest concern. I plan to use this to run for up to 2.5 hours and play mp3's. I might cancel based on what you 2 are saying.
I do have nfc on, 3g on auto switch, and WiFi set to on (only switches on if I walk out of bt range) I did get a lot of espn notifications, texts, email...but not any more than I did on the gear S. I have the screen set to stay dark and not turn on for notifications. With my gear S I had the screen set to turn on full screen with every notification. I'm going to try tomorrow with nfc, 3g, and WiFi off....but, I shouldn't have to do that...I should be able to use all those, if needed, and still be able to get the 14-16 hours+ that I was getting with my Gear S. Like I said, I do really love everything else about it!
Try a restart
I had a terrible first day, with the Watch dying after 8 hours. I suspected that some of the app installs were having and draining it so I restarted both phone and watch.. The next day, I got 15 hours and still had 40 percent left. I have NFC and wifi turned off, network to autoswitch (with me leaving phone home and relying on 3g for 2 hours), turned off "always on" screen (because the wake gesture is SO much more accurate than with Gear S), and a white watchfacer with brightness set to 7. Very happy so far. Suggest restarting watch and phone after Gear app installs or updates
Thanks! I'll try that. Is your location/gps set to off? I also had s voice set to a voice commands and have now turned that off. Is a white watchface or black more draining? (I would assume white would drain the battery more)
I think the NFC, GPS, Always on being turned off have been a huge help with the battery life, and I understand why those things would drain a battery, but it would be nice to be able to have everything turned on and at least get a day's use.
In general I assume the first day you get the watch it his heavily impacted by the app downloads... I let it drain to zero and then fully to 100%... I also stopped playing with it every ten seconds. BUT as I mentioned earlier, this should be usable for a day minimum with normal usage. If Samsung has a "normal" usage setting in mind that will allow for a day (or the 2 days advertised for the 3g version), there should literally be an option in settings called "normal usage" that should get you the 2 days.

I absolutely agree! I was able to get 14-16 hour day (with some left) on my gear s, with all the options that I wanted turned on. This this new and improved device should, at a minimum, give me comparable battery life! I'm also having an issue with the activity tracker telling me I'm doing light activity when I'm sitting on the couch watching TV....that is definitely not light activity.

Maybe in Korea "light activity" means "couch potato"?
Yea, we'll see what happens with future updates. One of the big draws to this watch (aside from all the other enticing factors) was the battery life... I guess time will tell.

Go to Apps and select blue circle. I think, it is last opened apps. There You can select Close all.

Was also curious about everyones setup.
First 2 days i didnt take into account battery because i was playing with it alot.
Today, booted watch at 7am, booted, got on, checked in 15 minutes, and was from 100-69%
Current setup,
display at 3%
about 10 apps that alert,
S Health
3G/4G is at auto
GPS-off
NFC-off
WiFi-off
i did have a Power Ranger face(which i loved) but it had alot livewallpaper action, blinking lights, and pieces that moved etc, changed to the default one with the stars in background with digial.
i am currently at 33% from 7 1/2 hours of usage
no music, have not taken any calls, havent responded to any messages, literally looked and swiped away.
Would a rooted Sam N4 have any effect on the performance of the watch?
I was on stock, but was horrible after the lolipop update.
Still on stock ROM, just rooted and bloatware removed, nothing special.
Ok, good thing there is a thread on this already.
So first day I didn't take battery into consideration, because you always fiddle with it too much. Then I had to work for two days, and my job is heavy construction, so I don't bring my watch, I left it on the charger for two days straight. I put it on Friday night, and didn't charge it till Saturday night. Today (Sunday) I was at 15% by about 12pm, and I took it out of the charger by 9am. This doesn't seem right. Did leaving it on the charger for too long mess up my battery? What is going on here?
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
Were you on just 3g...instead of bt? My battery life has improved with turning a lot of the options (wifi, nfc, heartrate monitoring) off. If I'm on 3g it is a whole different story....accidentally left my phone home the other night and was remotely connected between watch and phone....dropped down 40% in less than two hours. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
I don't have the 3g model, I have the classic. Yesterday it was good for the whole day, but to be honest I didn't check the battery when I took it off the charger this morning. I went to bed at 2am,so maybe between 2 am and 9 am it didn't have time to fully charge?
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
I think the variant of the 3g gear s2 and your network is key for battery life.
I have a tmobile carrier gear s2 and the battery life for the first two days was at about 18 hours off the charger each day and ending up with 15% at the end of each day before charging.
Mind you this is with 3 email accounts getting maybe 10 emails per hour, Answering texts and even taking a call or two on the watch, and also controlling my spotify for my note.
The tmobile watch has auto on/off 3g for when you disconnect from bluetooth or WiFi to your phone. I've heard that not all gear s2's have the auto on/off 3g feature?
Overall highly satisfied. But just turn off what you don't need when you don't use it has always been the name of the game when it comes to any mobile battery life. Nfc doesn't need to be on if you don't use samsung pay consistently. Neither does WiFi. Bluetooth and or 3g should be all anyone really every needs for true daily usage imo
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
I agree. I have had the 3g version since 2 days after its launch on T-Mobile. I had a white one and returned it b/c I was convinced something was wrong with the watch. I got a second one (black one) two weeks later and have the same issue. If I turn off all of the functions I wanted the watch for -- i.e., 3g, Wifi, NFC -- I can get a day of use. This is really disappointing b/c I have the classic as well, and it lasts twice as long with the same amount of activity. I hope Samsung does not something to extend the battery life on the 3g version.
I also have the Tmobile Gear S2 and on the first full day, I only got about 10 hours of battery life with very little use using all of the watch defaults. On day 2, I opted to turn off wifi and the cell radio and now I have great battery life. In excess of 17 hours if not more. On day 3 I decided to turn on wifi and bluetooth only. Battery life is still fantastic, once again in excess of 17 hours if not more. Next test will be all three radios on again, then just the cell radio only.
Hope this helps,
GP
What are you guys doing with your watches that you need 3g and wifi on all the time? I have mine setup with bluetooth on and 3g auto with wifi, gps, and NFC turned off. I also have the heart rate monitor turned on and set to take my heart rate as often as it will. I have screen on all day and display is at 3. I can make it a full day (630a - 10p) and still have about 40% left. I basically use mine while at work to check notifications so I'm not constantly picking up my phone just to clear a twitter notification. I know they made it so that you can use these for content consumption, but I don't think it was ever meant to be it's primary function, that's what the $700 cell phone in my pocket or the 400 tablet in my backpack is for. That being said, if you wanted to use it for a run and listen to music, do it. Just know that you may need to throw it on the charger later on when you are relaxing on the couch. To me, a full days use on any device is fair, but that's just my 2c.
Hi,
This is my 3rd day with the watch which I like so far but I was wondering: so far, what is your impression of the battery life?
Yesterday I drained it and food a full charge (about 1.5hrs) and it looks like it will survive fit an approx 24 hours. I've tried to have only light activity (send and receive few messages, play with a few watch faces etc.
From the Samsung gear app on my phone it shows that watch faces takes the majority of the power (makes sense as it's the most running app). In the 2nd place I see "settings"
Also, any proven suggested modification to dramatically improve battery life?
Where is the "no thanks" button??
I have had my Frontier for three weeks tomorrow and the battery lasts three days and still has 10% left. Looks like it takes time to condition the battery.

No, did set it when I first got it but with a twist of the wrist the display comes on so why bother. I do wear it every day and shealth runs in the background. My two sons have Apple watches and they say the battery only lasts the day and always charge at night.
I have a Non LTE frontier. I have everything on - AOD, most notifications, have used some GPS today, location on. I'm sure I could get 2 full work days out of it. I charge nightly anyway but have yet to have less than 55% left if I put the watch on at 6am and go to bed around 10pm. I'm more than happy with the battery.
Are you interested in metrics just for the sake of it? Under all reasonable circumstances, the S3 will last more than 24 hours. This, combined with its quick charging cycle means that the battery life of this watch has no impact on real-world functionality. I would probably be considered a heavy user: the S3 is my primary phone so it's in standalone mode (LTE always on) with AOD. I wear it at night to track sleep patterns. When I arise, I put it on the charger while I get ready for the day. So the watch is worn 23 hours per day and recharged for one. Most use cases are less demanding than mine and thus require an even less rigorous schedule.
When a device requires charging 20 minutes a day or 30 minutes every other day, battery life discussions become kinda trivial.
I had this issue my first day, It doesnt have a built in way to take out apps that are draining alot of power. SO after I use apps like the media player and such i remove them from ram and it lasts a ton longer.
It takes a few days to settle.
I have everything turned on, enabled, maxed, AOD, brightness, location, wifi, bluetooth, volume, vibration, synced with phone. And I get 2 FULL days out of it.
I don't use the AOD on my watch and I've had mine for about 2 weeks. I can consistently go at least 12 hours with battery remaining around 93%. Granted I don't use any of the SHealth functions because I don't need it, but I get my notifications from my device and frequently switch watch faces.
I don't use AOD and get a good 3 days between charging, one thing I did that improved things was changing from a white watch face to a dark almost black one
When i first received the S3 Frontier, I was getting around 8 hours the first day and 1/2 that on 2nd day.
Mostly due to a new toy and constantly playing with everything.
Now for 12 hours, I lose about 13-18 %.
I have the LTE model with AOD off, BT on and wi-fi off
sound at 15, screen at 5 and screen time out at 30 sec.
Email linked to exchange ( ~ 40-60 emails)
Text - < 100 a day
inbox notices from google
all sounds and vibrations enabled.
Number synced.
< 10 min. on phone
Currently getting 2 days on the battery with everything set to on. Screen brightness set to 5.
I do switch it off at night as I see no need to have it powered up whilst asleep. Always on display is switched on along with Wifi too.
Without AoD and Wifi on I can make 3 days.
Happy with it.
Frotier LTE: I get one full day.
I get one full day 7AM to 1AM.
Brightness: 4
Always On: Yes
Auto low brightness: On
Screen Timeout: 15 seconds
Bluetooth: Always on
Network: Always on <--this is a biggie. BTW: Setting this setting to ON is the only way to get text and phone calls from BOTH you cell phone number and your watch phone number simultaneously.
Phone calls: 10-12 a day.
Text: 10-12 a day
Notifications: ~50 a day
New toy factor: Play with it too much.

what am I doing wrong? My watch doesn't turn on half the time I flip my wrist. Any suggestions on how to flip my wrist corrrectly?
@joe1234567890
I have a non LTE Frontier (UK) S3 and that may be why I get the three days compared to you, not really sure.
Is it anyway to stop all shealth fonctionality except the cardiometer?
I'm at 11% right now with 4day 13hr 37mins on battery. Only use it for notification and some samsung pay. AOD off. Frontier LTE version.
Frontier BT version, 3rd day in use, first load lasted 2 days, aiming for 3
Aod off
Brightness 2
Dark watchface
Wifi off
BT always on
~50 messages/d
10 phone calls/d
1 hour/d playing with new apps and stuff
1 hour/d training program
Not too bad
In my experience, this thing has awesome battery life. Even better than my Huawei. I have the brightness at maximum, have the AOD enabled, and use the Chronograph+ face. I get notifications on it pretty frequently throughout the day, and when i get home after an 8-9 hour work day, the Gear S3 usually has around 75% battery life left.
I had purchased a new Samsung gear S 3 Frontier model on 220-03-2017. To my dismay I find that its battery does not last even 24 hours although I have disabled" always on " feature. What may be the reason as the battery is supposed to last for 4 days as per claim made by Samsung on its website. Is there something wrong with my setting?

Mine lasts for about 48 hours, so something is wrong with yours, either the settings or the hardware. You have enabled wifi ? That's a killer.
are you using a stock watch face? or facer?
In my version of the Samsung Gear Manager, it allows me to see what has used the battery since the last full charge.
Do you not have this?
For a few recharge cycles I was only getting 24 hours on a charge but over time it's settled down and I get about 3 days now. This is with Bluetooth on and WiFi on auto. I'm also using WatchMaker for my faces.

It could be one of your watch faces that's causing the drain.

I have disabled wi fi. Lets see whether it improves battery power.
Thanks for your suggestion
Mine lasts 5-6 days before I put it back on the cradle to charge. I turn it OFF around 9pm (I don't wear it to track my sleep). I turn it back ON at 6am. I have the BT-only version (not LTE). I'm using a custom watch face (gk58_schwarz), Location Off, WiFi Auto, BT On, Brightness 7, AutoHR ON, S Health's Auto Detect Activity OFF, Health Nudge ON (I hate you!). I've uninstalled News Briefing (it doesn't update regularly, so it's a waste of space and resources -- although there is a new update in the UK and Germany!). All of my notifications are ON (Yahoo! Mail, GMail, Google Cards -- traffic, stocks, weather -- etc.). I get about 5-10 texts a day and I sometimes reply using my watch. I pay with Samsung Pay on my watch and sometimes, if I remember, I turn OFF NFC after paying.
At Day 5 (if I don't use it as a standalone watch to track my GPS run), I'd be at about 17-20% battery. Technically, I could go one or two more days but it'd be the weekend and I'm more active on the weekends (more runs, hikes, walks, etc.)
Hi all,
Just wanted to check...if you have location services switched on on this device. I tried switching it off and experienced a remarkable improvement in the battery life. Am I missing something without location services on?
According to the user guide, the Galaxy Watch 4 draws the location from your phone when this is connected to it via BT, except for Samsung Health. What kind of improvement did you see? My watch drains around 2% per hour during the day with normal use and 10% over night. This is with everything on, apart from AOD and with Location on Improved Accuracy.

With location on, I would start the day with 100% and 6 hours in to the day I would have lost around 25%. With location off and under the same conditions, I would have lost around 16%. That's about 9% save over 6 hours. In both these situations, I'm assuming the same level of activity.
Interesting. I will try with location turned off, myself (it was on). I am not sure why a watch needs location, other than for weather or maybe exercise tracking without the phone? And without it, it should just use your home city or last location, anyway. And I don't use exercise tracking and don't have Samsung Health installed. For it to use much battery, either it would have to be requesting location through BT regularly, and I am not sure why it would need to, or it would be without a BT connection and have to figure it out on its own. In my case, the watch is always connected via BT.

I'm not sure why the watch would request for location from the phone when there is an inbuilt GPS receiver. But, yes, long story short, without the location enabled, the battery life is great.

I assume because it is a lot less "expensive" to ask the phone than to exert a lot of battery to find out on its own.

I'm getting great battery life with location turned on - and IMHO turning location off on the Galaxy Watch 4 kinda negates its main advantages over the Galaxy Watch (Google Maps, etc.).
If battery life is your overriding priority, and you don't care about the health and location-based features of the GW4, I would suggest that you buy an original Galaxy Watch, at a fraction of the price, and up to 2x the battery life.

I already have a S3 classic (still sitting on the desk). And it did suit me fine for years, except the battery is half worn-out now. Plus, it had no search capability, which is the killer feature I wanted in the GW4 (and doesn't really have it quite yet). I don't use the exercise/health or mapping. I use it mostly for time, calendar, notifications, weather, AOD, stopwatch, and occasional texting. Most of the other features are a waste on me, that is true. Of course, each person will have a set of features important to him/her; so it is nice to have lots of features to reach a broader customer base.
It is a bit annoying that the watch feels a bit like a beta, but I did expect that going into it (being the first WearOS 3 device, and buying it the moment it was released). But with regular updates, I am sure it will get worked out.

Fair enough. I passed on the Galaxy Watch as it didn't offer me any significant advantages over my Gear S3s (one of which I still have) and the GW3 seemed like a downgrade from the Galaxy Watch given the smaller battery (plus we didn't ever get the much-vaunted BP and ECG here in Canada - and still don't have it officially for the GW4).
BTW, I replaced the battery myself in both of my Gear S3s - you can order Samsung originals online, and installation is easy if you're careful and mechanically inclined. Not sure if that is the case for the GW3 and GW4, but something to keep in mind should you ever decide you'd like to extend the life of your watch.

Sorry, I accidentally said GW3 when I meant S3. I corrected my posting, above. Like you, I passed on the Galaxy Watch (until 4) for the exact same reasons. Plus, I didn't like the horrible black bezel on the silver Classic (what was that about?)

Agreed! Silver with the black bezel was the only option - much preferred (and still prefer) the look of the all-black S3. Plus, the battery life on the S3 was just fine as far as I was concerned - and with the new battery, I'm getting 3+ days again.

With location on, I would start the day with 100% and 6 hours in to the day I would have lost around 25%. With location off and under the same conditions, I would have lost around 16%. That's about 9% save over 6 hours. In both these situations, I'm assuming the same level of activity.

Can you clarify if you have LTE or non-LTE version of watch? Do you have "improve accuaracy" on? I have non-LTE Classic 46mm and I have location services on but improve accuracy off. I'm getting very good battery life and have never experienced loosing 25% in 6 hours. I'm getting about 2 1/2 days of battery life. What face are you using and is there something on your face which would be using location services? What apps do you have allowed in permissions? To determine this go into location in settings (on watch), then permissions, then allowed.

I notice no change in battery life between location on (with improve accuracy OFF) and with location off. Still around 25% over 9 hours (46mm non-LTE classic, AOD on, health stuff off, WiFi off, very sparce notifications, Watchmaker face).

I'm on non-LTE version and improve accuracy is switched off. I have the activity watch face which shows the steps counter, weather, heart rate etc. So, yes, health services are on which is one of the main reasons I got this watch. Notifications are also on for apps that I have enabled. I have limited location usage on almost all apps...Anyways, I'm still playing with the watch a lot so let's see once everything settles down...BTW on the update prior to the DUJA...I believe DUJA has a lot of battery improvements.
On a different note, I'm pondering whether to have AOD on or not...not sure how much of a battery impact will that have.

It isn't like you need to speculate. Just turn it on and see. AOD will drain the battery more than most anything else you can do with a non-LTE watch. It will easily will cut run time in at least half (when using a robust watchface). And since you will have to charge more often, it will also wear out the battery much more quickly (hopefully replacing the battery in the GW4/4C will not be a nightmare). But it is also awesome (and a "must" for me).

It was not health services I was concerned with. Not sure how weather on face gets its information. I can't imagine it would use location from your watch but I don't know...
Just got my Watch 4 Classic 46mm to replace my Watch 3 45mm. On day 1, after about 2 hours the battery is down 14%. Is that typical? My Watch 3 would go through an entire 16 hour day using only about 30-34%. Any tips? Thanks.

Thanks. A day is a real downgrade from the watch 3 classic. I may have to return this. For instance, my GW3 has been off the charger for 3 hours, and it's at 96% battery. The GW4 has been off charger for 2.5 hours and it's at 86% battery.

My GW4 was taken off the charger at 0730, 4 hours later 90%, but i did a cycle work out, so that uses power.

Like the other poster said, you can't know anything about battery life in Lithium-ion devices until it has completed several discharge/charge cycles. And I recommend at least one FULL discharge (all the way until it dies). Only then will it achieve full battery potential.
My battery is now on 16% after 30 hours of normal use.

"normal" use depends on person... I'm ok for 2 .5 days
It usually gets better after awhile....
Mine is on for 2, sometimes 3 days when I dont work out. However when I work out, because I'm a bit cheap to pay for an app to track my gym weights.. I take notes with google note on the watch and use the normal stopwatch which causes my display to be active the whole time while I work out. Bluetooth is paired with buds and I listen to music. Takes about 25-35% for a 2 hour workout. I bought the watch primarily to not be forced to run with my phone and be able to track my progress in the gym.
I'm starting to write an app which makes the tracking easier and has build in pause timers so the display wont be on the whole time... I'll also write a widget to not be forced to open the stopwatch app just to start/pause it...
App switching is also pretty slow.. I feel like my galaxy s3 was faster doing that...It's my first smartwatch and I'm disappointed... I should have bought a cheap alternative for 1/3 of the price and would've probably gotten the same performance. As a sidenote, I have pretty my everything turned off on the watch and don't wear it the whole day.
I usually do 3 days, light use. Switch off for night.
Indeed battery is worse then my prewious GW3
I get about 2 day's with some workout activities, etc.
But this watch could use a built-in solar charger!
Hi all,
I have also recently bought one - GW4 classic 46 mm LTE.
On the attached screenshot you can see how I am with the battery life - roughly 2 days. That's the maximum with the following settings:
LET - OFF - I haven't activated a mobile plan
GPS - OFF
Wifi - OFF
AOD -OFF
NFC - OFF
Brightness - around 40%,
Bedtime mode - scheduled from 00:00 to 07:30 + Power saving for the same period
All smart gestures (raise to wake, gestures for answering/dismissing calls and notifications, quick launch) - ON
Notifications with turning display on for Viber, Gmail, Slack(not always), Phone, Yahoo Mail, FB Messenger, Calendar, Clock, Phone Messages) - ON
Vibration - OFF
Samsung Health monitoring features - OFF (only steps counting )
I have several calls during the day, and a light to moderate number of notifications.
My battery lasts around 43/6 hours - almost two days.
What's your opinion, guys? Am I doing well in terms of battery life, or is my battery underperforming for its capabilities?
P.S. This is my 3d charge cycle.

I don't see the point. You got an LTE watch, you turned off everything. Hope you got lots of money
