After rooting my Sony Xperia M2 Dual using KingRoot, Still unable to get write permission in /system, /data or / directories. Tried running custom mount command in "su" but always getting "mount: operation not permitted" or "permission denied" error. For this problem, I can't use Link2SD as it is unable to create mount script.
How can I get write permission there?
Yes, its a problem with Kingroot.
You can use RIC disabler to gain system r/w access.
Or
You can unroot using Kingroot and root again using EagleRootTool by linuxct. (I recommend this)
You can find both these tools from M2 General sub-forum.

Thanks for the info. I will try it and inform here.
But, in the thread of EagleRootTool with Xperia M2 they are saying that we have to flash stock firmware from FTF if the device is already rooted with Kingroot. Is it mandatory? Just unrooting via Kingroot will do, right?

It could, but it's best if you flash ftf and start from scratch. You can backup your app data with TiBu and restore it afterward
Good Luck!

Thanks everyone, successfully rooted my phone using Eagleroot and now I have RW permission in /system and /data directories.

I've got an extremely bloated Xperia Tipo on Telcel that I need to debloat. The problem is, I'm not allowed to root (or maybe I would it be if it's possible to un-root)...
Is there anything I can do? Ideally having PC Companion install the latest version of ICS without any of the carrier junk.
And then, and this is grasping at straws, is there any way to access the system folder, or have titanium backup work, without root?
EDIT: Seeing there's a thread for Tipo FTFs, is it safe to say that I can flash the "generic" one instead of the "Mexico telcel" using Sony Flashtool, WITHOUT having it affect root access (ie, I can't have root...). Would that be the recommendation?
It's not possible to debloat w/o root access.
The best thing you can do is to flash a GENERIC or WORLD FTF using Flashtools [Can be found in General/Development section i believe] that has no carrier related unnecessary apps.
But for complete debloating ROOT permission is must.
Thanks a lot. I'll do that. And there's no way to un-root the device, is there, if I wanted to root it, debloat, and then lock it up again?
But installing the generic will be a great start.
You should be able to root and unroot with unlockroot. Not sure if it works on tipo though

Above your answer, you have to try it to confirm. Even if the above method doesn't in any case, cause i am not sure, if you need to unroot for the warranty or any service center issues, just flash the stock FTF again. Then your phone will be good as new and unrooted too.
hey man root and unroot works very fine! you can do whatever whenever you want by the program unlockroot.
also if you have doubts on unlockroot about unroot, then you can simply flash ftf via flashtool and you're good to go.
warranty remains!

Excellent news. I'll start with the generic FTF and if all is well maybe there will be no need, but it's good to know I can experiment.
Thanks!
Good luck! Happy rooting

It worked great. I downloaded the FTF, and the loader.sin, put it in the FTF, put the FTF in the firmware folder, and now I'm running a generic stock rom.
My only question is, there's still a bit of Xperia bloat. Would it be possible for me to modify the system.sin file somehow in the FTF to remove certain apps, or is that not possible/recommended?
Thanks!

Not possible. You will experience errors in flashing then.
If you want a debloated rom then maybe you should try the ultrabeast rom.

you can't debloat it, but you could disable system app. it will have same effect with debloating except that the file isn't deleted, you can re-enable it anytime and no root required. most android user never know that this feature exist even though the feature is already introduced since ICS. to disable a system app you can go to setting>app. you'll see several tab. go to 'all' tab. select the app, press the disable button.
please note that some app are flagged as 'essential' and cannot disabled. you'll never could disable such app like 'systemui', 'setting' or any essential app which needed for the system. anyway, you can unroot your device with several simple tricks.
1. copy superuser.apk in /system/app to your sdcard
2. reboot the device, install superuser.apk just like any apk
if you do this step, your superuser app will be installed on /data/app and you can uninstall it anytime. if you want to completely unroot it, simply go to /system/bin (or /system/xbin - depends on the root method) and delete busybox + su (or only su) binary file. after that uninstall your superuse app. the good thing is that most staff in sony center never check the binary files. if you uninstall the superuser app they'll mostly think that your device isn't rooted and you can claim your device's service for free.
I tried to root this almost unbranded tablet (turbo x strike ii) with cydia impactor,it successfully pushed the busybox and su but there was no root access when i checked with root checker.
Then i tried to root with kingo, said it was successful but still no root.
Then i tried v root, said successfull as well, installed the chinese superuser but still no root access.
Can it be rooted or wipe it all out?
If i am to wipe it all out how can i do that with an unrooted unbranded tablet which i have no rom or the means to flash it?
It sounds like more trouble than is actually worth but any suggestions will do, thanks in advance!
Well it is half rooted I suppose, but you will have to go to /system/bin and if you see "su" its rooted. If not then you'll need to find a way to push a su file there.

in /system/xbin there is a "su" file, but i can't push anything or even mount the system into rw with the "mount:read-only file system"error i get. thanks for the help!
So you actually have it rooted but its not working as its supposed to. Is there any recovery available for the device?

cwm doesn't support the device But i am able to boot into recovery from "adb reboot recovery" if thats what you meant, just tried it!
Why don't you try and re-root it using the same method.

I used another root method by flashing a zip from recovery, thanks for the help! But this other crazy thing is that despite being rooted and apps tha require permision work, i cannot remount the /system to get the play store there. I tried flashing gapps, tried with /system/app, root explorer, es explorer, mount /system, adb remount and nothing all i get is "mount:read-only file system". Any ideas?
I rooted my m2 by downgrading to 4.3jb from 4.4.2kk then rooted with towelroot apk. I then updated ota to 4.4.2 then 4.4.4 checking root each time. Installed supersu but didn't update binaries til end after final update then I forced root with flashtool. Updated supersu and installed as system app. Checked with root checker pro root confirmed installed xposed busybox ect with no problems installed e.s. file explorer with root access allowed and selected mount rw in es explorer. Also installed phils touch cwm recovery for l/b off here no problems now thought I had full r/w permission not r/o as when I try to install zip files ect from recovery it won't do it says it is r/o also ran the ric killer script said it worked yet still r/o. Also I can unlock my bootloader as it says yes. Is this the easiest way to get full root and what stops working after unlock I.e
camera Walkman x reality ect as I use all these. Any help or advice greatly received I have looked on here googled it but I just seem to be going round in circles I know it's something simple or I wouldn't have exposed and semi root.

It's probably RIC security acting up. Install XZDualRecovery and then Flash RICDefeat.zip
