Root for LG Escape 3? (Cricket) - General Questions and Answers

I have between trying to obtain root with my LG Escape 3 (LG-K373) from Cricket. I was able to get root temporarily with Kingroot, but then my phone restarts itself a minute later and root is gone. Just wondering if anyone else had rooted this phone and could provide some insight. Thanks so much!

There's no permanent root...yet. Kingroot will eventually brick your phone! And if you unroot now, you probably won't be able to install any updates, it will say this device is suspected of rooting. Warranty voided!

Yeah, I've realized I can't update now, but I guess that's fine. Is there any way to remove Kingroot?

You can uninstall kingroot. in the kingroot app settings. But even so, I couldn't get any updates.

With the lg devices dont we need a modified boot img? Something similar to what Messi2050 did for the lg stylo plus (metro). Im actually a sales rep for Cricket Wireless (and the escape 3 *k7* just went on a new promo, $20 with a port) So this would be awesome, i mite even grab one. Just got the lg Aristo so itd be cool to see hope in the modifed boot img for a similar device. Also with temp root you can run terminal emulator amd replace kinguser with super su, also isnt there a systemless root?

Get super sume pro to remove KingRoot and have a clean SuperSU installed in place. It's what I've always used and it's not failed me one time. Haven't tried the escape yet but I'm flipping a coin on switching to cricket at getting that 20$ promo as we speak

WARNINGS & DISCLAIMERS
Proceed with caution and at your own risk - I am not responsible if your phone self destructs, gets bricked, or melts.
Please keep in mind that both these methods will yield ROOT only - as of know there is no way to unlock bootloader on AT&T
Rooting and any other modifications to your phone will void your warranty - do not root if you do not know what you are doing.
Rooted devices will not be able to receive OTA updates. You may have to unroot and restore stock in order to accept updates.
How to check if you tripped the root counter
Once your device is rooted via either method - the device secret service menu will show that you are rooted.
To check:
1. Go to dialer
2. enter 3845#*850#
3. Scroll to and click on LG RCT
4. click Display Results
Here you will see that it shows the device is rooted
Once the device is unrooted - the setting will be reset to No Root

My G3 from AT&T is on order and should be in my hands in a week or so. What firmware version comes with the phone out of the box? Should I root immediately to avoid any patches from being installed?
My reason for asking is based on my experience with the Moto X. I realized too late that accepting the standard upgrade to 4.4.2 via OTA would eliminate any chance of rooting. I want to make sure that I don't fall into that trap again.

Are there any warranty software's like Samsung's Knox on this device? If so does rooting with towel root trip it?

According to a friend of mine, towelroot will not trip the QFuse, only the root counter. If you read post #2 on this thread that issue is addressed.

QFuse will only be tripped if the recovery or rom is changed... The root counter will reset to No Root if you use the unroot method I posted
Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
Does it also remove the line about the first time you rooted? Also, when you say Rom is changed does that mean debloating/removing carrieriq/using xposed will trip it?

I rooted the phone using towel root - used Root Explorer to uninstall Bloat - installed Xposed and G3 TweakBox... then I checked to root checker in the hidden menu and it showed that it was rooted but the QFUSE was intact... then I unrooted using the method i posted.. Not only was the phone unrooted, traces of xposed installation were removed, and the root check in the hidden menu showed No Root with no additional information - also the QFUSE was still intact.
This is my experience and I have tested it twice. However... as always... Your mileage may vary...
Many thanks. I hate to sound like anoob, but this lg is new to me (coming from a gs3 where I avoided Knox counters until I sold the phone).
Working here. Thanks!
So let me ask you guys/gals is the bootloader locked than? Just need to find out before I go purchasing this phone through AT&T, thanks.

The bootloader is locked... Although you can root and install xposed, run root apps, and Debloat it's not likely that the bootloader will be unlocked anytime soon... So no custom recovery and no rooms.

I have tried stumproot, vroot(iroot), rootgenius, kingoroot, kingroot latest versions. does anyone know if there are options that need to be set first seems like kingroot is what everyone is rooting it with but it will not work with my lg lucky. does mcaffee inhibit rooting also like the debugging at all. cant root even with a pc.are there any alternative methods out there that I don't have to delve too far into the programming either.

Lg stylo H634
I have the Lg stylo h634 through Cricket. After reading another thread I used Kingroot to root my phone. However I decided I wanted to removed the root so I can upgrade to Marshmallow. So I purchased Supersu to get rid of kIngroot. My phone is now stuck in bootloop. At this point I don't care what ROM I have, I just need my phone back. Any suggestions, help or even a "I'm screwed buy a new phone" statement would a least let me move on. I have been at this for about a week now.
Thank you

Bring it to where you got it and play dumb. Don't mention root or anything of the sort. As far as they're concerned you don't know jack about phones. Just tell them it froze and you had to pull the battery to reset it but now it wont turn on.
My Cricket Wireless LG G Stylo is also briked
I rooted my Cricket Wireless LG G Stylo (H634) with Kingroot then I used Super sume to covert to SuperSU instead of Kingroots after I used the Super sume app and updated binaries the phone restarted and and is stuck on the LG logo. Boost and Metro has flash files all over the web TOT and KDZ files we need flash files for the Cricket Wireless LG G Stylo if anyone can post them online thank you in advance.
Me 2 but i still had warrant after i rooted
I bricked my phone with supersu me but i still had warranty after i rooted with king root so i called it in and they gave me a new phone
I rooted my new lg stylo with king root and sticked with kingroot cause i dont want to
Brick my phone again ever since my phone worked perfectly fine if you ever get a new phone just stick with kingroot
Avoid apps that cause phone to Brick
Xposed installer
Super SU me
Dont use these apps unless theres a kdz available for your phone
I am rooted with New version 4.8 KingRoot. Have root checker Pro by joeykrim. No issues. First attempt with super su bricked. But phone was three days old. Duh my phone locked. New phone is rooted for good. Need custom recovery though.

God, my first phone without root on latest version, without custom roms and without unlocked bootloader :/
Yea so... I'm on my H635 G4 Stylus, android 6.0 and I tried everything to root it and nothing works. When I was on 5.1.1 I was able to root it with King(o)Root but when I restarted the phone, the root went away. Now I even tried to flash old KDZ file with android 5.1.1 and LG Flash Tool 2014 says some error and LG UP cannot recognize the phone. And i researched ALL the possibilities to make LG UP and Flash Tool work but still can't recognize it. So that means that I cannot downgrade the phone. Then I tried to root this 6.0 android I have and tried all sorts of things and no results. When I tried to root it with OneClickRoot it said that the root is currently unavailable but they will notify me as soon as they get it working. I even tried LG Root script. I mean... This phone has only 8gb of storage and 4 gigs is system only... Of course I have a memory card inside but this solves nothing. I wish this phone would finally be rootable because I want to hide those soft keys cause they looks stupid (there is app that hides them but its not "legit", the root version of the app is what I want) and delete some of the system apps.... And it would be cool that somebody would make something like slim rom that would be like 1gb in size. It's just not fun having it and I know this phone is very capable if someone spent a little bit of their time on this device. I'm so unhappy...
Did you find a way to root - im seraching, too
I still need this so do others please someone make something
