Hey guys!
I have to admit I'm completely lost here and I'm in need for some help. I recently started working for a company that do translation and checks the quality of these (which is my job). However, they use a database to send mass emails, and the first one to answer gets the job. The problem, and it's not a new one, is that most of the time I don't get instant notifications for my mails (I had to wait 40 minutes yesterday before getting a notification which made me miss that job). Was a solution, a real one, ever discovered?
Also, I have a 64Gb Mocha Brown Mate 8 on which I loaded the international Mate 8 software. How can I update from C900B133? I tried a couple of months ago but I think I did something bad and had to come back on the B133. Could you please give a step-by-step guide on how to do it? (or give me the links for the incremental upgrades I need to download).
Thanks a lot guys! Have a great day!

To solve your email notification issues, add your email app to the protected app list in the battery manager. As for updating the firmware, I do not know.
Hi!
That's the first thing I did, mind you. It is impossible to do for Gmail, but it is considered as a system app, but I did it for inbox and TypeApp which are the two other mail clients I tested. They all had the same behaviour and I still don't have any notification. I guess I'm just doomed till I change phones which is probably going to be next year ...
Strange, I use Inbox as my main mail cliënt and it has never missed a notification. Then again I do have the European Variant.
For eveyrone looking for a solution, I installed TWRP, rooted my phone and followed this guide. I've been getting live notifications since then. I didn't see any difference in battery life after disabling doze so I'm super happy.
Hey guys,
I think that most of the people "assume" that the B360 is the official Nougat update. But is there any official communication or has anyone received the B360 through a normal OTA update (not through HiCare)?
I have the L04 model and haven't received anything yet, and I just wanna make sure that the B360 is not a BETA to 'Charles' my way to it.
Thanks for your answers.

I got the 360 update through the normal OTA update. Not through high care.
I was on the beta N program and am intouch with some body at Honor UK on Google+
I asked him if the 360 was a beta and he said no it was final !
As people who wasnt on the beta got the same update 360 I think we can say that it was the N update.
I would just wait to get yours OTA as it seems like some folk that have rooted Etc are having issues like rebooting etc
My phone is running very well on the 360.
Just wait you ain't missing no big deal

No mate I hadn't rooted my phone. Can't see the point, I have nothing that I really need the required root at the mo.
In the past I have always rooted my android phones soon as I got them but with this one I thought I would leave it as it is.
It's really worth thinking before you root your phone.
I must admit to having a nexus 5 which is of course rooted and has a different ROM running most days but then there are the custom ROMs to support it.
Perhaps that's why I'm finding it easier to leave my Honor 8 as it is
John
I got the 360 through a normal OTA as well. That too some three weeks ago. On L04.
I was not rooted, nor on beta. Rooted all my previous samsung galaxy phones.. somehow wanted to go with this one with out rooting and so far I'm really not missing anything.

Times are changing. I rooted every phone I had and there were a lot of them down to Motorola Defy. And I still believe it was justified, I'd do it again. The original Android was so cumbersome in the past and there were so many better solutions from devs that staying with original system was unreasonable. Not to mention disgusting bloatware. But now, we have AOSP which serves its purpose and EMUI 5 makes it even better in many aspects. And the new functionality appeared with Marshmallow enables disabling unwanted apps cutting them out of any influence to the system and memory.
Yes, 360 is likely EMUI 5, which is equal Android 7.0. But, since Chinese models have 368 already, I think that Huawei is going further as it promised. How far? To Andromeda?
If your phone is bricked, you imperatilevy need to have a SD Card. Put full update on it an install it trough dload method.
When mine was bricked, I didn't found any other way to unbrick it.
Hello, so I can update to B360 through HiCare but I don't know if I should wait until final EMUI 5 because they recommend wiping and then I think I will have to wipe my phone twice... Anybody know if I have to wipe it again when final EMUI 5 comes out if I upgrade to B360 and wipe now?
Hi
I updated to nougat but I have slow Wifi speed. On other android devices on my network I have 80 Mbits but on Honor 8 max is 45Mbits/s.
What are Your Wifi speeds after nougat update?
Best regards

Wow, I didn't know that 368 existed, that's a definite information to wait for a normal OTA
Hello,
I posted a question in the official hihonor community:
https://community.hihonor.com/message/10155
It's still not clear that B360 is indeed the official version.
From the reply: "There is no[t] one latest version for the FRD-L09" (sic)
I can only assume that some phones will receive B360, while others might go directly to a newer build. At least there is a confirmation that all the phones (in the UK) will receive the Nougat update, "eventually".
This Honor 8 forum is getting filled with threads asking the same questions! Do people know that there is a search button? Do people know that having 10 threads talking about the same things just pushes "power users" away? it's impossible to follow all threads so it will be more difficult to get help from people who can really help....

I think you are a little bit confused, b368 is for Mate 8, not Honor 8! It doesn't mean that Honor 8 will receive a version with the same name or version that other devices have.

Hello,
I haven't seen another thread asking if the B360 is indeed the official Nougat version for Honor 8, or clarifying it.
Most of the other threads deal with either how to install it via the Charles method, the Firmware Finder app, and there are plenty of threads for bugs and/or bricked phones.
I believe that a thread where it shows the confusion regarding this, instead of jumping into updating with mixed results, has value towards making users understand the implications of possibly installing a "beta" or a "release candidate" on their phone, and may save them time. Burying this information under tons of other questions in a generic "EMUI 5.0 released for Honor 8" is not as helpful.
Not trying to argue with you, I understand that power users might find all different threads difficult to follow, but I don't think it would be any better if everything regarding EMUI 5.0 was consolidated under one single thread with dozens of messages.
In any case, maybe finally Honor representatives would jump in this thread and clarify whether it is the final one or not

I think the title of this thread Honor 8 Android 7.0 + EMUI 5 oficial released! is quite clear and if took some time to read the following posts you would find that was not necessary to create one more thread speaking about the same thing.
You would also find that not everyone has received or will receive the update at the same time, but eventually everybody will receive it.

I read your thread but I'm sorry to say that there is no mention of an official source that the B360 is official, it's all based on your speculations.
I, and many other users, wouldn't risk and force a BETA or an RC on our phone, thus I created a simple straight-forward thread to know if Honor has announced anything about it, since I haven't found anything.
So I've got two Huawei mobiles and two Huawei watches, but after owning their phones since February (Mate 10 Pro) and April (P20 Pro) this year I'm probably not going to buy the next Huawei phones for the following reasons (no particular order).
1) You can't guarantee you will get a device that won't be rebranded by network operators
2) Poor update schedule (including to latest versions - we don't know if/when UK branded phones will get Pie)
3) Too many incompatible apps
4) Notifications don't work correctly
5) Unable to customise notifications for certain things (ie different different ringtones for different contacts, different notifications for different apps)
6) Apps being killed of to prevent background processing even though added into whitelist
7) No default encryption on the phone Had confirmed by another member of staff that the phone is encrypted by default
8) Can't restore data for apps to other devices (non Huawei phones)
9) Removed the facility to unlock the bootloader
10) Customer support is not brilliant
11) No HDR playback in Netflix or Amazon Video (playback same as standard HD)
Why I would buy another Huawei phone
1) Decent hardware
2) Better links with my watches compared to other devices
3) Bluetooth works as intended unlike it did on my Pixel XL
4) Pricing
5) They revoke stance on unlocking bootloader
6) Guarantee you get a device that won't get rebranded
7) Wifi calling works
8) They introduce standard encryption on the devices
If I didn't buy another Huawei my choices would be either Pixel or OnePlus, my only issues with these is that on the Pixel range wifi calling has been previously locked to work with EE only and the Pixels are becoming overprice similar to Apple.
OnePlus looks tempting especially for the price and that it is close to stock and will receive regular updates like the Pixel devices.
What are your thoughts, would you buy another Huawei device or not and what are the reasons influencing your decision
Here are my remarks on your cons:
1) what do you exactly mean by that?
2) P20 Pro is scheduled for Pie in September (at least Beta) so I do not see any issue here, of course there are faster manufacturers but also a lot that are slower.
3) What apps are incompatible? The google stock replacements like dialer? I guess this is a common thing on most manufacturers that do not ship stock android
5) Different ringtonesfor different contacts is definetly possible
6) This will also happen on other phones but yes huawei memory management is a little more aggressive
8) I do sync app data with google which seems to work pretty nice?
Regarding the other points I am either opinionated but they are subjective or I have not expierenced them
1) In the UK there are two models sold C782 and C432, with the common one being C782 which gets rebranded by the network operator - until you buy the device you don't know which model you get
2) It might be scheduled but again for UK users the release maybe delayed or blocked by the network operators due to them being the ones who authorise the update not huawei. We are now only on 131 and my Mate 10 Pro took over 3 months to get an update due to it being rebranded by a UK network .
3) Various apps especially with Amazon, some apps work but don't function correctly and this includes the google apps
5) I'm sure you can't but i'll have another check as when tried previously it wouldn't
6) it can but when you whitelist them to not be killed they aren't, but huawei still does kill apps or prevents background tasks
8) some apps you can't especially the huawei ones, you can only transfer to another huawei device as they won't let you save to google cloud
as for the other cons
4) Is it a known fact that notifications don't work properly on the huawei devices
7) Huawei have confirmed there is no default encryption on the devices - the only way to have something encrypted is with the filesafe
9) Huawei removed the ability to obtain the unlock code for any Huawei devices on 25 July 2018
10) This was experienced with the BOSE headphone claim and their attitude towards customers, also the customer service is not brilliant with them taking sometimes months to respond to emails, with a lot of replies just being scripted.
As I said this is my opinion of why I won't probably buy another Huawei phone and asked would you buy another phone or not and want would be your influence for the reason chosen.
My response. Your comments are mainly incorrect.
1) You can't guarantee you will get a device that won't be rebranded by network operators -
its not rebranded. Just a splash screen and network specific apps. This happens on a lot of different brands.
2) Poor update schedule (including to latest versions - we don't know if/when UK branded phones will get Pie)
The phone has had more updates than most. The networks in the UK do slow matters down, but any EU 432 version has had constant updates and additional features added.
3) Too many incompatible apps
I have a very heavy app install. None were incompatible.
4) Notifications don't work correctly
Again, all my notifications worked fine. In the beginning I had to tell system not ignore an app battery drain warning for 2 apps only.
5) Unable to customise notifications for certain things (ie different different ringtones for different contacts, different notifications for different apps)
You most certainly can. Its an android 8.1 thing.
6) Apps being killed of to prevent background processing even though added into whitelist
Again, never had this.
7) No default security on the phone
Not true. P20 Pro is encrypted. Apps like Tune In Pro wont work unless phone is encrypted.
8) Can't restore data for apps to other devices (non Huawei phones)
Always setup fresh on a new phone, so not sure.
9) Removed the facility to unlock the bootloader
Most people, 99% dont care or know about this.
10) Customer support is not brilliant
I havent had anything serious wrong with my phone to test this.
1) So you saying that an unlocked sim-free phone when inserted with a three sim and gets rebranded to show the three logo which cannot be reversed is not rebranding. It doesn't happen on a lot of different devices if you purchase them outside of a contract, it only seems to be Huawei and devices sold as sim-free from places like CPW. Huawei even state the phones get rebranded if they are the C782 version.
2) You are on about the C432 version not the C782 which is mostly sold in the UK and you are lucky to get the C432 model
3) I have apps that were installed on my old phones that are now incompatible with Huawei phones, I can't even update Amazon as it now says incompatible via Google Play.
5) Not every app is providing me with the notifications even though I have changed the settings in the battery optimizations and ensure notifications are enabled. Even in the nofication screens it says 2 apps disabled from sending notifications but doesn't show me which apps they are.
6) I have seen this on a few of the apps I use
7) No it is not, Huawei have confirmed this that the phone is not encrypted by default and you have to use the filesafe. Email Huawei UK and see if you get different response
9) That might be the case but users like me that can be a deciding factor
10) You don't need to have an issue with the phone, even if you email them asking basic questions about updates, the product they are not always helpful and provide scripted answers.
Again another post saying what is wrong with my decisions and that they are incorrect, but based on my use of the device and information from huawei these are the reasons WHY I WOULD NOT buy another Huawei device.
The simple I posted was would you buy another Huawei device or not and what are your reasons for your choice, not my choice....
I am not going to have a debate. My points made were factually correct including the encryption point.
If you're having specific issues with an app then I'm sure someone on here could help you unless it is simply not compatible.

To you your points maybe valid, but as can be seen by the replies from Huawei UK you will see why I base some of my comments on them
This week regarding the encryption on the P20 Pro which took over 2 months for them to answer
Dear ????,
Thank you for contacting Huawei Support.
In response to your question, please be informed that the Huawei P20 Pro device it is not encrypted. However, all the information you are saving on the "file safe" it is encrypted. This means that the information is private and it can be accessed only by you. This option it is secured and it can be accessed only with your fingerprint.
I trust this information is of assistance and I wish you a nice day!
Should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

and this is in relation to a phone being rebranded - any change from the standard huawei bootloader splash to a three splash is re-branding....
version sold in Carphone Warehouse is the open market version and it is exactly the same one sold by H3G.
The software version is also the same, however, this will be customized to the relevant operator depending on the SIM card that is inserted in the device for the very first time.
This customization is irreversible as per the operator's requirement, however, the device will maintain its SIM Free status.
One of the reasons behind it is to ensure the 4G/Wi-fi calling feature will be enabled on these devices. As you may know this option is not available on the unbranded/open market devices, as it requires network customization.

it had taken them 2 months to come back with that and even when i re-questioned it they still stated that the p20 pro is not encrypted
that is bad if you purchased it unlocked sim-free, i understand if you got it on a contract you would expect it to be branded with the three logo but not when purchased outside of a contract

1) You can't guarantee you will get a device that won't be rebranded by network operators
I live in Germany and the C432 European Version you can buy here is not branded and free for all, so no problem for me.
2) Poor update schedule (including to latest versions - we don't know if/when UK branded phones will get Pie)
Again, for C432 version phones no problem. Bought mine in May, got an update every month since. Pie is rumored to be available as soon as September, maybe.
3) Too many incompatible apps
No incompatible apps here. Read about a problem with VLC Player, but I don't use this, so... again, no problem for me.
4) Notifications don't work correctly
I rarely have this issue. Currently, everything works fine.
5) Unable to customise notifications for certain things (ie different different ringtones for different contacts, different notifications for different apps)
Yes, I agree, this is dumb. I would also like to have this out of the box. Can be modified with 3rd party apps though.
6) Apps being killed of to prevent background processing even though added into whitelist
Not had this problem, yet. Whitelist works for me. But then, maybe I just don't use apps that don't. No idea.
7) No default security on the phone
What does that mean? Default security? It forces you to set a pin number when setting up, or do you mean something different?
8) Can't restore data for apps to other devices (non Huawei phones)
It works with Phone Clone.
9) Removed the facility to unlock the bootloader
Yeah, sucks.
10) Customer support is not brilliant
Had very good experiences with their customer support, to be honest.

I would get another Huawei in a heartbeat. But this time, I'd not buy it right after launch but wait a few months until all the software updates fixed all the issues
Now, with v.152 my P20 Pro works perfectly fine. I wished it would have been like this right from the start. It was a long way from .107 to .152, regarding camera quality and bugs.

1 & 2) UK it is the C782 model that is widely available and thus behind on the updates and they are authorised by the network providers not huawei - if they were the c432 models it would be better and we would be receiving the same updates. Got mine on release and wish we were getting updates every month, instead it's three+ months till we get updates.
3) Yeh I think this is more down to individual usage of apps as we all use different ones
4) Sometimes I get no notifications, but may get them a few hours later or when I reboot the phone
7) Sorry I meant no encryption by default
8) it won't restore all the data from a huawei on to a pixel and it won't transfer all the data from pixel to huawei - had this issue with the huawei apps had to install from scratch and reset them back up - lost all huawei health data and watch configurations
Huawei Health data is connected to your Huawei ID, if you have one. You can install Huawei Health also on another device, if I remember correctly. Log back in into your Huawei ID and your data should re-appear. At least in theory

Isn't it better to debrand it to c432? I did that for mine and now I'm rocking b152 even though I can chose to install b156. I just can't be arsed to update for "disabled master AI as default"
I would totaly get another Huawei. Fantastic update support, fantastic camera, fast and smooth os. What more to ask. Thanks again huawei.

It doesn't it stores it all data on your device only - did email them providing a suggestion to have it so it acts like strava, runtastic, mapmyfitness etc where you can view on website if swap phones and then have it automatically pulled back to device. the google fit syncing is useless (not huawei's fault but googles) as after a while it deletes any tracking and just provides overall figures. plus GF is not accurate between watch, phone and website as they all show different stats.

They make excellent hardware, you can't deny that, both my watches are brilliant and not had any issues with them - it's just the few things that have made we wonder if to get another huawei. If I was guaranteed to not get a Huawei that would not rely on networks to provide the update, but instead got these from huawei on a regular basis (coming from using the nexus and pixel range i've got used to the frequent updates) I may get another huawei phone, but it also relies on the encryption and other issues being resolved for me.
Am not gonna buy another one. Unless bootloader unlock method is re-provided.
I'll never buy a phone i can't root in day one.
If things remain unchanged from huawei side and there is no 3rd party (DC Unlocker etc) providing unlock method, i thing i'll just keep my P20 Pro for main camera,
And for daily driver, get something like, One Plus 7, maybe.

Even if you don't root it day one, you still want that choice - all my old phones I rooted and installed different firmwares on except my Pixel XL and Pixel C (tablet) - even my G1 was flashed with different roms as they became available - my htc, lg and samsung devices all got rooted and flashed with different roms - even my tab 3 8" is still running using lineageos
I have also been looking at OnePlus and Pixel - And I'm more than likely going to go OnePlus as updates are good and phone is cheap and I know a few people who have them
I have my Mate 10 Pro which I would probably get rid off and use the P20 Pro as backup phone

Ditto! I'm waiting for something significant from the update (like 3rd Party notifications on AOD) before I move on from .152.
As much as I like the p20 pro, huawei have stopped offering bootloader unlocks which has ended my interest in them.
Very happy with the hardware.
However I'd never buy another Huawei as long as their new policy of unlockable bootloader sticks. Worse, it seems they're not even going to provide sources anymore - a blatant violation of the GPL, apart from anything else.
No thanks. Shame, too. Their hardware is outstanding and innovative.
I still think the locked bootloaders are a sop to the US Government, to avoid further censure there.
Hey guys,
sorry for any bad Engish and if this is already known.
I updated my P8MAX from EMUI 4 to EMUI 4.0.3 recently. Since then all my google related apps stoped working. Play Store startet and shows a white screen. The "google"-app starts, asks for a google account and if you want to create it the app closes and I land on the main screen. Same with youtube, one drive, etc..
I already called the German tech support but they can't help me with the device, because its a foreign device and they wouldn't be able to resolve the problem. They neither want to help me with a new device, like a discount or something.
E-Mail support told me to reset the devices cache and reset the device to factory default. This didn't help at all so they want my BUILD number and imui. Will keep you updated on that!
Do you guys have any idea how I should proceed? Thanks for answers.
Edit:
Got feedback from the international email support:
"I'm sorry to tell you that your phone has Chinese software and some apps may not open. For a possible exchange of your P8Max please contact your dealer"
Perfect answer! Replied and asked if it is possible to go back to EMUI 4.0 and how they are blocking google apps. If it is through the "hosts" file it will be easy to remove.
Edit2:
International support contacted me again: They can't help me. They can't tell me how they are blocking google! Completely useless support.
Trying to get into contact with some other employees at huawei.
I think the best solution for the problem is to install a custom rom. ****!
Thank you for all your replys!

I have exactly the same problem with my DAV-703 which held play store and other google apps, they al stopped working after the last update whic came through last week .....
Cache wip did not do the trick , factory reset neither. Still looking into other possibilities including flashing custom rom....
Add me to the mess!
I'm not too sure what's occurred but it definitely nurfed me as well. Strangely enough, it does show a few elements working but then it screws it up.
I've tried everything myself... And fear the worse now because nothing works. This device was working flawlessly before this stupid update. Thankfully I told my wife, whom has the same device to avoid the update... "I'll try it out"... We would of had 2 worthless devices.
If any of you have updates, suggestions or better yet solutions please let us know. I'm tremendously upset... Thank you.
on the same boat here in Canada.
OK I contacted US support - and they said basically it was the Chinese update "applied to the International ROM" and I should contact the place I purchased it... Hmmm, my wife panicked (she has the same device) and its DAILY nagging to update. I said DO NOT! So, I did the ridiculously crazy idea I rolled it back to 5.1 and I am going to get it back to where it was... unfortunately I fear this is THE ONLY SOLUTION... I am not there yet, I am back on the 5.1 but I will get it to where it needs to be I hope soon. Its really a pain in the BUTT that they knowingly pushed out and forced an update that messed EVERYTHING UP...
I seen the hosts file suggestion above and I'd say that's possible but I do not think its just THAT simple... though if it is... NICE! Keep us updated.

Hi. Without an unlocked bootloader you are sort of out of luck. However there are tools to do that but you will need to pay a little for the one I use. I did. And it was the best money ever spent... I've recovered my phone 2 times now. It escapes me the name of the bootloader unlocker. Damn it. There are a lot of tutorials on it... Even some one click methods on XDA. And there is a guy on Twitter that I know Zedomax he did a good video on YouTube.
My main suggestion: study it so it's not so difficult.
As it relates to the rollback I followed this thread exactly: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8max/general/p8max-root-guide-d-701l-d-703l-t3269213 and then I had the files previously for 5.1. saved and just rolled with the tutorials that a forum guy named: Hirs_E_Fruit (look for his threads) did (he's the author of the link above). His tutorials ABSOLUTELY work. If you are willing to do it. It's the real DEAL.
I spent 8 hrs YESTERDAY Friday, doing it. My Max is exactly as was before that stupid disaster. If you want you could also use KingoRoot but in this particular situation I'd suggest you follow the above. It WORKS.
If you need particular files let me know... I probably have them. And do not get frustrated. It's not hard but it can be trying if you've never done it before. I have on tons of devices so I am not worried. And honestly I really had to use a lot of gimmicks to get it to work but it's perfectly fine again. So it is possible.
Let me know. Thanks.
BTW Since this occured it's came to my attention that there are 2 update files from July. One is bigger than the other. My wife ever the interesting source of misinformation suggests that the bigger one could be the INTERNATIONAL version and the smaller the Chinese. I am thinking she is correct as US support suggested it was the IMEI that gave us the update and since most of us bought it in China, that's why we got the wrong version. Go figure... It was a terrible situation.
Another suggestion I had was to locate your Google Services Framework ID. There is a link: google.com/android/uncertified that if you can find your GSF ID (device ID app helps) - you'll have to sideload it, but, this update erases it. It's not blocked its erased because in China Google isnt allowed. Amazing considering how many devices are from China. Anyway I hope it helps you.

I think this is a bad move by huawei I love their products ,when I got the phone from amazon I didn't relies it was not for the UK market. How can we put huawei under pressure to undo this ? If it makes the evening news this would put pressure on huawei. I've had my phone 3 years no problems I was going to buy the new p20 pro, I am rethinking thid.
I've just did factory reset and it's still not working
I'm so annoyed. Nothing was working or opening so I copied all data on PC (except whatsapp which refused to create backup and few other things). Now after reinstall it's still not working. How to come back to previous software update? I can't use my phone at all :/

It won't happen. They will just say it was "imported into a not supported country"... Basically after everything I've come to the conclusion it may have been intentional. Why? Because this particular phone - my wife has it too, really 3 yrs later was working perfectly. Meaning it was an amazing piece of hardware. Just it didn't catch on, nor do they (any mobile devices company) want you to keep a device for years.
This is why they push out new devices yearly. This is why they stop supporting these devices. It'd say, unless you are willing to do like I did, go back to 5.1 and redo the entire device up to the B212 then... Get a new device.
And strangely enough my wife whom refuses to change anything, yesterday asked me about buying her a Mi Max 3. She said the constant nag to update and fear she may "by accident" has forced her to want a new device. I was thinking the Honor 8 Max but it needs to have a global ROM. Otherwise... It's just asking for problems. Unless you don't use Google services then go ahead. There are quite a good percentage of people that actually call it "Google bloatware". And Apple fanboys don't miss it if they don't use it. So... That's what it is.

As I replied it is possible to restore it to the before state but it's legit arduous and it requires a lot of effort. My question and suggestion: If you do buy the MI Max 3? ABSOLUTELY make sure you get the Global ROM. And did you order it? Because I'm ordering one today for my wife. I'm on the fence. I got a MI Max 2 and it's nothing special. I was thinking something more beast like but I like big devices. The Honor 8 Max was tempting me... But no Global ROM until October.

I'm worried that I will mess restoring up and it will totally kill/brick phone. No I haven't ordered yet. I'm not sure due to that 18:9 screen what will be real screen size compared to P8 Max. I need Dual Sim now and Huawei is crap in that - second sim works only as 2G so two sim cards: EE + 3 are impossible to be used :/

I was able to restore this particular phone twice. Last year around November it stopped working for some odd reason. I was on B212 firmware. I rolled it back to 5.1 (before B029) even, and restored it totally. It was working flawlessly... Until... This mess occurred.
And I did it again on Friday. I'm not a newbie and I'm a veteran of this but I had to use a lot of gimmicks to get it to work this time.
I went ahead and ordered a Global ROM MI Max 3 for the wife. Should be in her hands on Thursday/Friday that's September 13th/14th. If all goes well. We are in the process of selling two of our properties (she's busy with that and stuff at the University she works at) and I am headed to back home to US again... So between all of this, I probably won't see it in person for any side by side or comparisons until end of next week. And she may not have time to mess with it until then as well.
But like my thread above if you are thinking about fixing it, and need files/help, ask away. I'll try to help as much as I can... It is possible. Trust me. Just remain calm.
If you want to downgrade from EMUI 4.0.3 to EMUI 4, you can try this way.
1. Turn on your PC and download "Firmware Finder for Huawei"
apkmirror.com/apk/gmanrainy-by-team-mt/firmware-finder/
2. Connect your phone with USB
3. Copy and install the apk file
4. Run "Firmware Finder for Huawei"
5. Check your model(DAV-703LC233) and tap it
6. Select "DAV-703LC233B226(159MB, not 135MB)"
7. GET AN UPDATE THROUGH DNS -> AUTO -> RUN VPN SERVICE
8. Go to setting -> Updater -> Quick update
9. Done
Sorry for my bad English. I'm not sure you guys understand my text.
And also not sure this method is working but I think it is worth attempting though you may fail.
Good luck!

Awesome. Glad there ended up a much easier solution than what I did. Now my question is, could I do this with my wife's phone (she didn't run the update that messed the rest of us up) and apply the proper B226 update because she's getting nagged... As I mentioned earlier she suggested the bigger one was the proper one. Any thoughts? Thank you again... And I'm happy for everyone!
Unfortunally does not work.updater says “no updates” when checked
Google problems after 4.0.3
my hopes were high after reading this. luckily it worked for a few. are there any other solutions to resolve this issue? as replied earlyer, all steps taken but no luck with the mentioned update. doesnt see it as an update somehow.
Hey guys,
I posted on the other threads but it seems like my concern shifts to be another.
First off: Yes I have tried switching regions with the tutorials. No nothing happened. I switched back to EuEx, no dualism because I don't need it.
Yes I tried every possible EU VPN Tunnel and updating OTA.
Nothing helped.
Now I have searched for my current Firmware, and there is no actual discussion about it. It is CPH2025_11_A.52 I am on the security Patch Level December 2020. So it came to my mind that it could actually be the firmware that prevents the updatingprocess. Is this possible?
With every other EU-Colleague of mine getting at least C59 with EuEX I'm starting to think it's just my phone.
Is there something I can do about it or do I have to wait for a flashable Android 11 zip? Which would ultimately leave me with selling the phone since I purchased it in regards to receiving an android 11 smartphone.
Thanks for reading in advance!
No problem with your version ,its just Oppo s way of doing things.I have cph 2025.11.A50 november security patch.
I reached them and they said i should take my unit to service ,i asked them why?its not broken !
Very wierd solution.
My phone works like a charm ,great performance ,good battery life ,so im happy with the software.
P.s bought phone from Switzerland.
@andreiselegean1984 @CaptainRage while it may not be broken on the hardware level there definitely seems to be something wrong with it, so sending it in is not that weird a solution imho. There surely is some sort of repair service in your country that acts as an official Oppo partner for warranty repairs, so why not just contact them and see if they can help by just flashing the newest software onto it and be done with it. The only hassle being that you'll have to do without it for a couples of days but maybe you still have one of your older phones that you can use instead for the time being...
Well Oppo doesn't seem to be cooperating that much:
We are sorry to know that you didn’t receive the ColorOS 11 update on your Find X2 Pro just yet.
In order to clarify this for you, please allow us to offer you a background explanation.
To make sure everything of the new version can run smoothly and reduce the unnecessary risk of the end-user, the ColorOS 11 update is released in batches. This is a protective measure used in global leave for all the new software versions. That’s why a certain amount of devices don’t receive the update on the announced date. But don’t worry! As your satisfaction is our priority, we at OPPO are doing our best to release the update for your phone as soon as possible. Rest assured that you will receive ColorOS 11 soon.
I appreciate your understanding and wish you a wonderful day!

This is just the usual BS the customer service gives you, forget about that. There have to be companies in your country that are official Oppo service partners which do all the repairs that are eligible for warranty. Contact one of them directly and tell them what the problem is and see if they accept it as a warranty repair.
