Hello,
I'm currently on an CUSTOM Rom with the latest 23.5.A.1.291 Firmware and the Elite kernel v3. When I would change an ROM what are the Steps?
When I flash the new Zip I get an Bootloop when the device optimizing the Apps.
I would switch from MKXM 2 v4.5.0 to Slimm ROM 3.1.

Can you run a custom kernel with the factory or updated ROM given?
My dad's phone has a custom recovery and has a ROM of the version of KitKat before the OTA. Have ROMs been updated to support the official release yet? How do I know which ones are on the new or old drivers? Would it simply be to flash the ROM through the recovery, or do I have to go back and install the OTA, then flash a new recovery and ROM?
Thanks.
Hello Guys,
Need your help. Please help me out here.
My wife has a Sony xperia L which is still running Android 4.1.2 version. Now I rooted it with Root kit and tried flashing various Lollipop Roms like Cm12,primexperia and resurrection. But wifi does not work on all these Roms
I have tried almost every solution available on Xda.
I have used multiple custom recovery, N number of kernals and have flashed Boot.img and Thunderzap 4.16 from recovery after flashing the Roms. Still not luck.
Steps followed for flashing the Rom
1.Rooted with Rootkit and updated Supersu binary
2.Installed Busy box with Flashtool
3.Flashed a kernal (Tried TZ 4.14,4.7,4.8 Extended stock kernal and some more)
4. Booted to recovery ( Tried Cwm, TWRP, Philz)
5. Wipe data and all for clean installation
6. Flashed Rom zip (Cm12, Omni 4.4, Primexperia, Resurrection)
7. Flashed Gapps (As per the Rom)
8. Flashed Supersu zip to regain root access
9. Reboot to boot into new Rom
10. Wifi is not working so flashed boot.img from Rom via flashtool
11. Flash TZ 4.16 in recovery for cm12 ROMS.
Still wifi not working not sure what is the issue. It's working fine in Stock Rom.
Now I am upgrading to 4.2.2 via Sony update software.
Masters please help me out here. I can think of 2 solutions now.
1. First update to latest Sony official update (4.2.2) and then try again.
2. If there is any firmware file for stable lollipop version (with system.img, data.img and boot.img) which can be flashed using flashtool.

number 1. is correct the 4.1.2 software uses a really old modem that isnt compatible with LP based roms... The LATEST stockrom (...1.17 4.2.2) has the correct modem to make the wifi work
Sent from my Xperia T using XDA Free mobile app
I want to install MM roms on my phone, stock or CM based. But the problem is that I installed Hurtsky Stable Kernel for 5.1. Do I need to flash a stock kernel of 5.1 to be able to flash 6.0 roms or do I need to flash any kernel for 6.0 roms. And if I do flash a stock kernel for MM rom while running CM12, will my phone boot?
You have only to make a full wipe via twrp recovery (Wipe system, data, cache, art-cache) and install zip of CM13 and gapps.
Download the main system zip from: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=falcon
And the gapps from: http://opengapps.org/ (choose the 6.0 one).
There aren't stock based, because Moto G 1st gen (2013) does NOT HAVE 6.0 official!
There is also an Identiti crisis rom, a porting from moto g 2014, but CM13 is more stable!
All right.Thank you for replying! My concern is about the kernel. The kernel I flashed is meant for LP CM Roms and not MM. So when I flash CM13 with gapps, won't it create a problem? Will I have to flash stock 6.0 kernel or a kernel for MM CM Roms?
No, the kernel is replaced when you install a ROM. The kernel is a part of system, the heart of ROM, contains all the driver (called modules) and also set the CPU and GPU frequences. So you don't have problem if you install the zip because in the zip there is the default 6.0 kernel (if you see in the zip there is a file called boot.img).
Ohh! Thanks a lot! I shall try CM13 now!
