I'm not really finding anything helpful out there. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and the output levels for the standard audio aux output jack is very low. I've had several S6's due to replacements and all of them have had crappy volume output.
Any ways to boost the output levels easily without rooting?
I've rooted past Galaxy phones to get tweaks I wanted, but I'm curious if it's worth the risk of rooting for just this feature? I saw some posts about using software that required root.
Thanks for the input!

I think without using root required mods you'd have to use media apps which have a built in equaliser which may increase the volume. Outside of that I'm not sure of any other non root methods.

I've found that too tbf, I've been rooted a while, I actually rooted the day I got the phone, so warranty void from the get go lol haha. But I do use viper4android mod which is fantastic for audio control. But I know you don't want to root just for an audio mod, there are other advantaged of root, but you know it's your choice end of the day.

Yeah...I didn't want to root just for audio. I've rooted other Galaxy devices in the past, but I didn't want to risk voiding the warranty. I've seen documentation on the web about being able to root without flipping the Knox bits...any suggestion on a good root to follow?

The only way to not trip knox and root is by flashing the engineering bootloader which means you'll be stuck on lollipop android.

Just root your device then. It's really not that difficult, doesn't void your warranty and gives you so much more flexibility.

I heard that we loose the warranty by rooting our device. Is it true ? Is their a way tout unroot ?
Will I be able to root my phone with firmware B123 on it or I have to downgrade to a lower version to root it?

Hey guys. I have a big question. Tonight i want to take some pictures to Milky Way. And where is the 30 second shutter speed. Becouse with 10 second the result is bad. Or someone can help with the settings? I tryed to take one shot with ISO 100 and shutter speed 10s. But with 10s its impossible. I need 30s. Where can i find that option? Thanks guys. :good:

Thanks. i know this option. But the phone needs to be rooted and i dont want to lose my guarantee.. yesterday i tried to take the milky way with 10s but the result is bad..
Try another camera app that supports a longer shutter speed. The native camera app is a system app and you can't change the system without root.

I used Android pay today on mine with magisk root.
Just seen Samsung Pay checks Knox instead. Guess theres no workaround for that one.

Anyway i don't use these apps : Secure Folder and Samsung Pay. But for me 'ROOT' means something what makes my phone worse.
And what about if i'll root my phone for 2-3 days? After when i shot the milky way, i will delete or take it off the root. Its possible?

Yes, it is possible. But just for your information rooting doesnt make the phone worse, you could actually increase it's speed, battery life etc.
Also once you root it then on e and for all ypur phone is classified as software tampered device (since knox is tripped, noway to reset it till now) by samsung. So in case in future you want to use samsung pay theres noway 4 it.
Anyways if you insist in doing then you can proceed in doing (atb)

Yes when you dont do with proper assistance or experience, thats why im here advising people, since i have an experien e with s7 edge, i somehow corrupted efs folder and lost imei i dint have a backup so i had to give 900Dhirhams to repair. Thats why im not taking a chance with my s8+ but all this which i told happens only whenbu install custom rom then mess up with it, it doesnt happen when you just root it.
So jus be careful..!!!

Cause the mentioned app does not require root, I thought you may not be rooted. Anyway, you'll have to increase handset audio gain at mixer_paths_*.xml found in /system/vendor/etc.
You can increase all audio output devices' gains. It's usually 84, increase by 2 till you find the one that suits you.
This thread has a guide, but it's since these files were located in /system/etc, and the guide shows a tip for speaker, not handset. 95 will probably get your handset to crackle, you won't love that.
Hey Folks
My Oneplus 6 just died (purchased 4 years ago) so tomorrow I have to go buy a new phone ASAP.
For the last decade I have been an XDA enthusiast (lurker) rooting/romming my phones to get TWRP/debloat/adAway/viper4android etc
I am leaning towards grabbing a S22U tomorrow from a retail store here in my country (Australia). Money is not an issue, I want the best phone I can get right now.
I currently don't have the personal time to be rooting/romming to get my new phone perfect and my understanding is Samsung phones don't permit that unless they trip Knox and create hardware problems I don't want to deal with.
So my question to you XDA is:
(1) Are there any system wide ad blocking alterntives equivalent to adAway that don't require root?
(2) What about audio? If we can't root then we can't run viper4android and get that elite sound right? Any workarounds or alterntives?
(3) Debloat? I usually just use Titanium Backup to nuke all the bundled trash in my phones, is there any alternative without root?
Thanks for any replies =]
1: Either DNS blocking (dns.adguard.com) or Alliance shield X which can block all ads and has customized firewall.
2: No idea what Viper did, but Samsung has Dolby sound and the speakers are fine.
3: You'll have to use ADB to debloat and there are several apps and lists you can use on your PC to debloat.
I used to root every phone I had, but since I switched to Samsung I don't really find it necessary and I often messed stuff up and bricked some phones. Also many banking apps wouldn't work, so.. yeah, not worth it anymore.

What are the odds that we are both updating from op6 to s22u?
1. I have been using dns ad guard thing the other user said.
2. s22u does have an equalizer if that's what you're looking for. It does not have a headphone jack so if you're an audiophile idk if its the right option. I can't tell the different between a flac and mp3 so I am not the right person to answer this lmao.
3. There is barely any bloat on s22u. I uninstalled pretty much everything and disabled 2-3 apps which couldn't be uninstalled. Your milage may vary obviously based on what you consider bloat and all that. At the end there are like two apps which bother me but I assume they are necessary for the phone to work so I can't disable them.

No 3.5 jack but the charging port works as a earphone/headphone jack.

Samsung's workaround created two issues. Obviously one can't use headphones and charge the device simultaneously unless you employ wireless charging. Also there are very few earphones which connect using a Type C Connector. One option is Samsung's Type C Noise Cancelling Earphones. They sound pretty good with some nice bass as well.
Not a lot of purchasing options but they are available on Ebay. Other than that one can use Type C to 3.5 Jack adapter.
For superior audio I'd recommend Poweramp which incorporates an Equalizer.
PowerAmp is a great player with lots of settings. I have been using it for quit a while. I have a Watch4 Classic and the PowerAmp controls come up on it when I am playing songs. As for headphones, an adapter works fin and there are plenty out there. There are dual port adapters that will allow you to charge and listen at the same time, but I would recommend going to a wireless headset like the Samsung Buds, Bose Buds or any of the good quality buds out there.
I use ADB AppControl to disable any of the system loaded apps that I cannot uninstall. It does not remove the system apps and save you any room, but it does disable them so you do not see them any more. Also still will allow you to get updates without issues.
One thing I do recommend is get the 256M version or larger. Samsung has deleted the micro SD slot, so be sure to get enough RAM to cover yourself. You do have cloud storage for a lot of things though.

Hi everyone. Out of curiosity, what processor is your device and it is rooted?
what is an idea of device rooting in 2022?
Everything is working just fine, spamware uninstalled by ADB, ads blocked on PFSENSE, never used custom icons\launchers\etc...
probably networks unlock? what else

I rooted because of Viper4Android. I tried Wavelet and PowerAmp equalizer (this one is kinda good), but none can replace Viper4Android, expecially for me, that uses Samsung Galaxy Buds+, which doesn't have a good sound. And I love leastening to music. It's a pitty that I couldn't make it work in my SD yet. I'll keep trying.
Other pros are completely customization (I use 3mini battery, hate that stock 2 icons for battery that takes too much space). Better adblock, better backups and better youtube (Vance or other of the kind).
