Hello all, like many i have tried a few screen protectors and this seems to be the best one yet. after buying the Note 7 IQ shield for my note 7, installing it and watching it completely suck as the edges peeled up i wanted to find a solution. I went on Amazon and picked up some Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch screen protectors from IQ Shield and cut them to fit wrapping them around the phone. fits nice and tight and i was able to cut out holes for the buttons really easy. No worry about lifting and the best part..... The Tab 3 screen protectors on Amazon were about 5 bucks so i bought a few.

I have had a similar idea. Good work. Can you show us pics of the entire phone top to bottom? Let us know how this holds up for you also.
Great idea! Definitely doing this after the current one starts peeling further. Would love some more pics of your cut outs and corners if you any.
Side note: I wonder if this would fly with the non-wet application type. Sides may be a challenge since the adhesive isn't as strong and there are ridges, but those tend to be alot more slick and don't indent with the S-pen.
interesting.. come up with a template
If you were a company you could make. money from this selling full body one piece protectors.
What's great is that the home button is already cutout. I'll post up some better pics today. It's been about 15 hours it's been on and no peeling, super smooth. I rushed it last night and still came out nice. I'm gonna do a nice one later this weekend. With the Wet application it's super easy. I sent a message to IQ Shield with pics. Hopefully they can jump on this and start making them
best film protector I have found are these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KFQKIJ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
they work great with cases. I don't have any pics of mine yet cause I'll have to borrow my wife's phone to get some pics. Easy to install, bubble free and the edges stay put and not rubbery feeling at all. Oh and you can use your SPen without leaving grooves on these as well
Did you have to cut the top, or just the buttons? AKA, is it the correct height from top to bottom?
I cut the bottom at a slight angle and the top straight. The next one im going to do a little sharper angle on the bottom. It looks and feels great. If i had a hole punch i wonder if i could go all the way to the top.....hmmmmmm. right now it's just under the SAMSUNG logo. Use a very sharp exacto knife. I ordered 2 more from amazon.

If you already bought a normal Note 7 protector, you can use it as a template to line up the holes before you cut it.
Or, use the plastic protector that came with the phone as a template as well.

The Tab 3 protector is my last resort. How did you cut around the buttons? Like did you put it on then cut while it was on the phone? I got 3 other screen protectors to try first.
Someone should make a full body, heat-wrap type of protector. In my retail business I "shrink wrap" items together with a clear plastic shrink wrap with a heat gun (on low, and not too close to the wrap) or a hair dryer will warm it up enough to wrap it tight to the bottles. One would think someone could come up with a full body plastic cover (probably have to stop the protector at the very top and bottom where the corners start curving) that would be just slightly bigger than the phone to slip the phone into and have all the holes for the buttons/sensors cut out. Then just use a hair-dryer to shrink the case tight to the entire phone. Hell, if I knew how I would come up with this product myself. I claim rights to this idea in this post! Lol.

I think that is the only way to cut around the side buttons - after the protector is on. No way to get those cut our correctly otherwise IMO.

Can you provide a link to the IQ protector you bought on Amazon? I can't find one for the Galaxy tab 3, 7" that is under $10. You said in your first post the one you bought was only $5. If you could provide a link to the one in the pictures in your first post that would be great. Thanks.
Any pics?
the original samsung one IMO is best .. its rigid comes with 2 protectors and went on perfect no bubbles...

How did you cut the buttons out without scratching phone?
Related
I bought this the other day:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-Desi...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1273093982&sr=1-14
Got it today and I can report it is a bargin! only slightly reduces the sensitivity of the screen, which I actually like! Fit is good and you get 5 of them for <£2. The seller is doing themselves an injustice.
Oh and put it on with the peel off tab at the top. It fits the other way around (as I found out) but its meant to be at the top.
JAmes.
Re: Screen protector - bargin!!!
do they completely cover the screen?
Ordered last night. will give em a try when they come. the ones i ordered before are rubbish.
Ordered a pack @ £2 one cant complain Will add to this thread when they arrive
Yup total coverage.
I'm gonna buy another pack before the seller bumps up the price.
Can get pictures if wanted?
JAmes.
I recently ordered this screen protector from eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/x2-LCD-Screen...ries_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item2559ea1f8e
It literally took only two days to arrive from US and its one of the best full screen coverage protectors I have every used, well impressed. Only £2.00 (including postage) and you receive two screen protectors.
After applying, I have not noticed any adverse affects on the touch screen; if anything, it actually feels better/smoother, with no trapped air bubbles or dust underneath the screen.
Note: lucky i was sent two protectors, I messed up applying the first one because it caught some dust particles in the air if you order this, make sure you apply in a dust free room!
why do you need one when it has a glass screen?
Try and scratch your screen and when you don't manage to and provide evidence I'll remove my protector

Please do - pictures would be great. Can you take one of an unused screen protector too?
How is it applied? With a liquid solution or strips on top/bottom that has to be pulled?
Yo! Pictures aren't perfect I'm afraid and I had to use the flash and I forgot to clean my grubby paw prints off
You get 5 in the pack + a big general one you can use for something else.... dunno what
I've not applied this one perfectly, its slightly mis-alligned at the bottom left which has a knock on effect at the top, but its only off by about 0.5mm so I'm gonna wait until it annoys me too much before I use up another. I've tried to show it in the pics. If it were perfectly alligned it would take a really trained eye to spot it.

It looks nice.
Is it clear or matte?
It looks a lot like one I had from DC Mugen for my Samsung i780 and uses the same method of applying it.
I put an InvisibleShield on my Desire a few days ago. Very nice protector, but I hate applying the InvisibleShield because it always seem to get screwed up.
The "peel" method is much easyer as the whole protector isn't exposed while applying.
Its clear. The picture was taken on top of my mousemat which is frosted glass so might be making it look a little matted. Its also still got the protector covers on which makes it not as clear. Oh and my paw prints are all over the phone when I took the pics.
They are a little tricky to fit, but you get 5 of them for £2 and you can take them off and put them back on, although its difficult not to get it dirty when doing so. Actually I've just read the instructions on how to fit it.... opps I pulled the whole protector off and then fitted it. Oh well I've got 3 left to try
JAmes.
PS. If I remember I'll get some pics in sunlight tomorrow.
Some indoor pictures (like previously posted) but the the screen turned on would also be appreciated if that is not too much to ask.
it looks like the PDAir protector but you only get one of them and I already made it dirty.
Plus could not get the air bubbles out.

lol... never thought of scotch tape! maybe you could try it in your bathroom after you have a bath as the steam will remove the dust particles from the air.
I bought some of these from eBay last week and have to say its a brilliant buy. under £2 for 5 is a bargain. I have passed one of my spares to a mate. Perfect fit on screen and no noticeable reduction in sensitivity. Just make sure you give the screen a good wipe with the cloth provided beforehand and you should be fine. No air bubbles and after over a week of use I have nothing bad to say about it.

Most protectors you can wash under the tap and 'apply wet' to the screen. I've done this a few times with various devices if you dont get it right the time/ get a spec of dust underneath etc. You simply squeegee out the water with a credit card (or similar) with a thin material wrapped around it to avoid scratches. Very much like window tints.
I, like many others i`m sure, is looking for a good quality shell for a Omnia 7. Can`t find anything as yet.
If you do see a good shell, please post a link here.
Thank you!!
I bought this one from eBay which has arrived today:

It's ok, thought I would recommend getting the black one rather than the smoked one I have. The only issue I have is that the sleep, camera and volume buttons are a bit difficult to press with the case one. I think it may soften or loosen up with a bit of use so I'll keep it on for now and see how it goes.
DC
Yup they soften up
i was the same. But few days now and they are nice and easy to press.
I did give them a bit of a warming up by clicking them a fair few times, but does work to loosen the silicone up.
I got the black one as you can see by this post/pics

I'm struggling with screen protectors though. I ordered some cheapy ones from a German seller but, with the greatest of respect, they're utter dogsh1t. Far too thin, scratched by a piece of card I was using to push bubbles out.
I really want to find a nice anti-glare protector if I can, otherwise I'll be going the Martin Fields route.

Sounds like you got the same ones as me, That's my 4th film heh... I know why they put 6 in there now but for £4........ or a scratched phone ?
Ether way mine is more protected than my other parts of me have ever been
btw i found it's less pressure with the card, and more laying it down and just ever so slowly backing it up and using the card to make sure the bubble you saw don't re-lay where it was.
I'm no expert but 1st go was a joke.... so many bubbles i laughed hard...
2nd better but no dice,
3rd was brilliant apart from a few bits, and my mind just made me take it off and start again
4th was perfect give or take 1 - 3 bubbles i can live with until i try again
You want to hear how my mate managed with an ipad XD
I am having trouble finding screen protectors as well. I think I ordered the same thing as you guys (bedifol ultraclear) from protectionfilms24 but when I went to their site, it seems it's pretty much their lowest range and looking at the reviews for the various cuts they offer for other phones, I am just wondering if it's worth not having a screen protector at all.
Please let me know if you have managed to found one that is good.
Cheers.
Low range - high range.... It was ALL that was out when i got the phone/wanted protection
It does what it says.
It protects the screen XD
0.05mm thick - Same as the "one" for £8 which i bought as with the £3 one to test all of them, Recently bought the martin fields and imo... it tints it for me.... i like the clear/glazed protectors which look like the glass it should be.
So 6 for £4 is win win
I got a screen protector from here http://www.devdef.com/products/for-samsung-omnia-7 (actually I got two), but I found that they're pretty good and by far the easiest to install of any screen protector I've ever used. To apply it, you need to moisten it (instructions are on the site), and then you can slide it over the surface of the phone, before it dries, until you get the perfect positioning. Bubbles are also easy to remove because of this - you just have to do it before it sets. The only drawback, really, is that it's pretty reflective. I don't notice very much in use, but it reflects bright lights quite a lot, so if you're looking for anti-reflective coating, I'd give this a miss. Also on a plus - it's pretty strong as you can see from the video on the site. Also, as the instructions say, it improves the longer it's on your device. Initially it looks a bit poor, but stick with it (no pun intended )

http://www.amazon.co.uk/GEL-CASE-SA...W8MW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1292094897&sr=8-3
Very nice indeed. And I am using savvy screen protector, little rubbery in touch but not bad at all
Yeah, I used fairy liquid and water, and you only need a tiny amount of fairy liquid - it's concentrated, you know ;-), and you also only need very little of the solution on the screen protector. Also, as I mentioned it looks pants to start off with, and it takes a while to dry, but eventually it looks fine. If you like a shiny screen protector.
I bought both of them on eBay. Very fine !

As promised the pics of the CM barely there case.
edit: It also came with a free screen protector & a piece of cleaning cloth which I haven't used yet. Waiting for my current screen protector to be bit more scratched up (martin fields). Shouldn't take long.
That case looks really good just a pity I had to send my Omnia 7 away for repair!
What bothers me with these case is that I won't feel the cold metallic, sturdy cover finish in my hand anymore Is there any possibility to have a bumper instead?
Here's a case I have not seen anyone post up yet. I wish I could get it from the USA, but I think I will order it anyway.

I ordered it over the weekend in white after eye balling it for a week. I like minimalistic cases like tpu and silicone but wanted something more durable since the note will be traveling with me on vacation, this seems to be the perfect compromise of size and toughness. It reminds me of the Casemate Tough Case I have for my S2. If no one already posts it ill put up some pictures when I receive it.

I considered that case, however, it is only available in black, and since the Note 8.0 is my first dance with a white device, I wanted a case that accented it nicely. The one I posted looks sharp with the black rubber around the white plastic. My tracking number shows it is in NY. Hope to get it by Saturday.

I had a rough time getting good snaps as I took them on my cell phone in a rather dark room. oh well. I tried to show all the ports and things that were in the case.
This thing makes my Note 8.0 feel 100% better in the hand. It's a very sharp case, and adds great character to the tablet. I'm glad I chose this one.
so, the tablet goes inside the rubber first, then the hard shell goes over it?
is the rubber nice and snug, or is it kinda loose?
looks nice!:good:

It's one piece. It's a bit flexible without the tablet in it, but you cannot bend it much past flexing the corners. The plastic back adds the rigidity. You just snap the tablet into the entire piece.
I will state that it doesn't afford hardly ANY top protection to the device. If you laid it on it's face on a table, there is approximately 3/32" of rubber between the tablet and the table. But the rest of the device seems very secure.
It truly is one of the nicest cases I have ever seen for any electronic device. It really changes the appearance and the way you handle the Note 8.0.

I don't use screen protectors. Especially on a device with an S-pen
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 on ATT LTE
I've had the case for a few days now and have been loving it. The First Class does fit super snug around the edges of the screen, so much so that my screen protector started to come up in a few areas. I had to massage those areas that were being raised and the SGP protector slipped under the case. The extra rubber on the ends helps when holding in landscape mode, it gives a nice gripping area that keeps you from accidentally hitting the capacitive buttons. It's very easy to pop off and on but I really don't see myself taking it out much, I like the Note better with the case on.

It's a REALLY nice case. It compliments the Note well. I have already had a number of people ask what it is and how cool it looks.
I ordered one of these on Monday. Although since they are coming from South Korea, it will take weeks before it arrives. I cant wait just hope my note 8.0 doesn't get beat up too much while i wait. In the meantime I'm gonna dive into some rom development.

Mine showed up in about 2 weeks.
Just got mine. Ordered it on the 7th arrived today on the 24th. Initial impressions are good.I like the raised volume and power keys. The other cut outs are deep. There is no slot of sim card, which might be a problem for people who swap sims out. The case adds a good amount of extra bezel to the device. This comes in a form of hard rubber. It makes it really reassuring that the phone is safe. Only problem is if the phone falls flat on its face there isn't that much rubber to protect it.
Overall best case I could find for the device. Highly recommended but be prepared for the long shipping time.
This is my personal and unbiased review of the Anker High Definition (HD) Screen Protector. I recently got the opportunity from Anker to review the Anker's newest screen protector for the Galaxy Note 4. I will explain the installation process and my initial thoughts. I have not had more than a few hours to review the protector yet... so this will only be my inital review. I will update my review in about a week.
First off, installation was a little more cumbersome than I thought it would be but it felt like it was the luck of the draw or requires a steady hand. I've installed many screen protectors before, including bodyguardz film protectors and LUVVITT's tempered glass.
The package cames with 3 protectors, cleaning cloth, a bubble remover, and something I've not seen before, what is essentially a lint remover. I thought it was cool.
First I cleaned it with the cloth:
Then I used the lint remover, very helpful for removing pieces of lint that the cloth won"t get:
http://youtu.be/ST-NRqqFa1s
It took a few times for me to get it on the way I wanted it....
See the video:
http://youtu.be/41-JoEsn7rA
After I got the protector the way I wanted it on the screen, I used the little card to remove the bubbles and I removed the final film off of the screen protector using the little tab they equipped:
http://youtu.be/2wv0eDPgJwc
But there was a slight problem.... when I pulled off the final film, it pulled off the actual screen protector as well. I couldn't tell at first so in the video you see me checking out the screen until I realized it wasn't on.
Luckily there was 2 more and I tried the whole process again. This time it went on the way I liked it on the very first try. Unfortunately, I did not record it this time but here is the final product:

THE INITIAL VERDICT:
I think the screen protector is good for the price. You get a lot for how much it costs. One major thing that I do not like about the protector is that it slows your finger down a little. It feels almost sticky and gives some resistance when you are sliding you finger SLOWLY across the screen. You feel this resistance less the faster you move your finger but I don't think of it after a while. I'm hoping this is only because its a new protector and needs some time to go away.
I do like that I don't feel like I lose any screen sensitivity. All touches are precise and just as sensitive as if I didn't have it on.
The protector seems like it's made more to protect against scratches rather than to protect the screen from cracking against any kind of forceful impact.
I will do a updated an updated review in about 1 week.
OVERALL I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. After one week of use I noticed a slight scratch on the screen protector and can see that it's not very good at repelling fingerprints but this is probably the best of it's kind for the price. It doesn't hinder the look of the phone and I feel like my phone is protected from normal wear and tear and that is what this screen protector is made to do.
I was going to post my review... but decided i would just add my experience here....
I have tried 6 different screen protectors for my new Galaxy Note 4!!! NONE of them worked well. I really like the tempered glass variety of screen protectors, but none fit the phone correctly due to the curved diameter at the edge of the screen. These created a "halo" effect around the whole circumference of the screen. It looked terrible, and just attracted dust and lint.
So, when I saw that Anker (a brand I have always trusted) was offering a screen protector (and a 3 pack no less), I figured, whats it hurt to try one more time.
So in fairness... the first set then sent me was terrible! It was bubbling with micro spots of lint/dust. I went through all 3 in the pack unsuccessfully. I did contact Anker customer support, and they answered within minutes, and told me they had contacted their product engineers, and they were sending me "new" replacements.
I received those with two days. The very first one I installed on my screen installed perfectly!! The protector covers the "visible" part of the phones display. Some of the surrounding bezel is not covered where the screens starts to curve). So the protector lays nicely. Also, being a little smaller, my phone case does not rub against the screen protector.
This protector is clear. It transmits light from the display nicely, and does a decent job of resisting finger prints. So far no scratches, so it seems fairly tough to everyday use.
I would have still preferred a tempered glass protector, but due to all the issues, this Anker HD Screen Protector more than fits the bill!
The package ships with everything you need to install a screen protector: micro fiber cloth (and it's big...so I can use on my eyeglasses), bubble remover, link/dust removing tape, and full instructions.
5 Stars for quality, customer support, and super fast shipping!

Glad the reviews are positive. Mine are already on their way from amazon. Can't wait because my phones been totally naked since Wednesday!
whats the price on these? they look just like every other protector out there...including the tech armor ones I got for 99 cents each per 3 pack when they were on sale.
and OP, you should totally do the method where you only pull back the top portion of the protector, lay that flat, then gradually peel the rest back so that you don't risk getting dust on it every single time you lift it up off the phone and place it back down. i used to do it the way you did it; taking the first film off completely and placing it down..but honestly, the peel back method is MUCH better, and so is the hinge method. give em a try.
Got these yesterday... Exactly what I expected. Super easy to install. No bubbles, no imperfections on the first try. They are SUPER narrow. Barely covering the entire actual screen. I wish it covered the camera tho

I have had my Anker protector on for the last week, and no scratches yet. The edges are on tight. No bubbles, no lifted edges.
Here is the link to the product. They are $6 bucks for 3 ($2 each). Well worth it.

Here are a few pictures of the screen protector on my phone....
Thanks for the review.
What is the difference between the "Clear" and "Matte" versions?
The Matte version sounds like it will be less reflective compared to the Clear.
But, apart for that
purchased from eBay: $12.99 | took about 2 weeks to arrive from China
i was excited to install this screen protector, but that excitement quickly soured into disappointment.
the packaging was nice. the outer package was made of very think and stiff paper. the sp itself was in its out paper bag. all the other stuff was in another sealed paper bag.
as you can see from the pics, there appears to be a concave spot in the upper right that just would not stick, no matter what i tried. it was not an air bubble. i squeeze all the air from the center out, but that area never adhered. also, none of the edges adhered either. it appears that the screen protector is warped.
i did buy one of the first ones that showed up on ebay, so it may be from an early bad batch. i contacted the seller about this issue and i'll update when they reply.
needless to say, i do NOT recommend this sp.
Nillkin makes an identical-looking glass screen protector. has anyone tried theirs?
Update 1 (4/27): the seller said they're sending me a replacement today. i'll update in about 2 weeks.
also, the giant anomaly/air bubble in the upper right corner seems to have disappeared overnight. unfortunately, the bottom right edge of the screen seems to have lifted up more (new pic below). with the screen on, it's actually not that bad. it appears as a slight haze at the corners. still, i'm not happy with the SP. hopefully the replacement won't have this problem.

Update 1 (4/27):
Update 2 (5/17):
I got the replacement this week. Unfortunately, it's more of the same. The SP just doesn't want to stick to the sides. Oh well ... At least with the screen on, you can barely tell. I guess I'm used to it by now. I still wouldn't recommend this SP.
did you try to read the instruction before installation ?

yes. it was exactly like every other half a dozen screen protectors i've installed over the past few years.
they're all the same. clean the screen. peel protective plastic off screen protector. align with phone. stick to phone.
have you never installed a screen protector before?

A+ post
Would read again.
aside from the "air bubble" how are the edges? does it fully stick to the S6 screen edges since they curve? it looks great other than the bubbles and also i'm certain Nilkin uses the same product just branded for them
Unless if I'm looking at it incorrectly, it seems that the home button is not a perfect fit on there..... Or is that just the angle?

no, at least not all the way around. look at the new pic i uploaded. notice at the corners where there are light spots (circled in red or blue). that's where the SP doesn't adhere to the screen.
i checked before installation and there was adhesive even in the colored parts of the SP. this wasn't the case in their versions for the iPhone, which eventually led to dirt getting under the sides and the SP lifting.

the cutout is precise and slightly bigger than the home button. but since the SP is thicker, the home button is now slightly recessed (refer to the new pic). it's a little different feeling at first, but you quickly get used to it. it also doesn't affect the fingerprint scanning function.
Updated
Just installed this screen protector. Pretty pleased with the results. It stuck right up to the edges.
My Spigen case caused a bit of a problem though. It lifted up the edges of protector and caused halo effect. Resolved the problem by sanding down the inside edge of the case by a fraction of a millimeter.
Is this oeleophobic? I got a decent protector without this coating and I hate it.

I'm not sure. I got it off ebay and the product info given by the seller said it is. However I couldn't see anything on the product itself when it arrived to confirm this. I've never found that oeleophobic screens work very well anyway.
Hey
Very nice reviews, I will try it nevertheless and let you know

Which one is that?
It's the Capsule Ultra Rugged
I have the one from Nillkin, but I didn't buy it from ebay, I got it from a local retailer. I have no problems with it.
And yes, it looks the same as the one reviewed here. But maybe at the time the OP of this thread bought these protectors they were like just introduced, maybe in the begining all of them had this problem. After all, after some months, the accesories are very diversified and you can choose a fair amount of brands.
