Hi!
I need to know whether or not the Samsung Galaxy S5 ( not Verizon or AT&T S5 etc.) already has an unlocked bootloader.
I'm looking to root and then install TWRP.
Any help would be appreciated!
THANK YOU!

Hello and welcome to XDA Q&A section of the Forums.
One of the forum rules is to search before you post, this is to reduce the spam in the forums.
If you use a website called Google you should be able to find your answer.
yes, I've done that....
I have been all over Google, and I can only find a reference to "Verizon" S5 or "At&T" S5 and my phone will be neither.
It's not a phone that has a SIM that is locked into one carrier.
From what I've been reading online,
I'm not sure if there would be a difference.
So yes, I've already been to Google land on this.
Thank you.

You can check this thread: [Q] Samsung Galaxy s5 SM-G900F Sim Unlock.
And here is another one: [Q] [Q/A] Unlock my S5 SM-G900F.
Maybe you can get help there already.
If not, please post in the [SUPPORT THREAD] The Galaxy ~S5~ All in one support thread!**NOOB FRIENDLY** thread.
Alternatively you can contact your mobile provider and ask for an unlock code
Good luck !

As I can see, you have already posted in the S5 help thread (Samsung S5 - SM-G900f Unlock).
Now just be patient and wait for someone to answer your question there.
Thanks for your nderstanding. Thread closed.
Title says it all. Is this possible?
If so, this would allow for a rooted S6 on Verizon!!

Thanks!
I bought a galaxy s5 used and found out that it is sim locked through sprint. After trying to unlock it I also found out that sprint is one of a carrier that u can`t unlock! I was told that it can be rooted to work with other carriers and I think that xda has instructions on how to do this. I`m not a programmer or developer but I do investigate and try my best to learn. It would be appreciated if someone could help me.
Thanks Vesten

View this forum in a browser on PC or on your phone,,look for the XDA search bar that says "search all forums".
In that bar, type:
"Sprint Galaxy S5 root"
Then you will find what you are looking for, you'll also find more information and possibly custom development for you device.
I DO NOT PROVIDE HELP IN PM, KEEP IT IN THE THREADS WHERE EVERYONE CAN SHARE

I don't have this device but, the following, device specific, threads may be helpful for what you are looking to do and don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within one of them too.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3627255
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3662099
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3649595
If all else fails, and you don't receive any responses from the above threads, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Good Luck!

Yes.
Remember, if its not unlocked, it will not work
youtu (dot) be/M-jOM9LXhqE
Verizon doesn't sell the Active version so there will not be one that works for VZ.
