NO SMS/EMAIL Sound :(

So a few hours ago i stopped receiving any kind of sound when getting SMS and Emails. It will only vibrate. I have done a reset and double checked all audio notification settings under Personalize and i am still having this issue. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
reboot your phone and try again. Can you hear something with your headphones?
maybe it's your phone.
Every once in a while my phone randomly changes my notification ringtone to "silent". Did you actually check your notification ringtone to verify an actual tone is assigned?

Vibrate problem

I don't have any problems with the phone except it won't vibrate when I receive notifications and sms. But it will vibrate when I receive calls and set alarms. I do have the "vibrate when receiving notifications and messages checked and tried unchecking it as well. Anyone else have this issue?
Doesn't work for me either. Anyone else?

razr hd text notification sound issues

I found a lot of crap, but nothing useful about why when I turn ring to vibrate or silence I still get ring for text messages. I have to go settings- sound - notification. Y would moto do this to us?
Anyone have a way to silence ring and notification at the same time. With a fix, app, widget

I found settings extended by halfbit it gives the option to connect ringer and notification without extra crap on your home screen.

Did you try silencing it from the lock screen
A simple yes or no doesn't hurt anyone :-/
I use HD widgets for my little switches widget on my home screen and when i set it to vibrate only it does it for both my notifications and phone calls, the lock screen does the same thing like Christian stated.
Lock screen only silence the ring.

I'm having almost the exact same problem. My problem began when I installed a profile app, "Simple Profile Sound" I uninstalled it and I'm having the issue where if I put it on silent or vibrate the ringtone follows that command however, all my notification sounds keep ringing no matter what. I emailed the developer 3 times with no response. I have seen others that had the same problem with that app and have done a factory reset but that didn't help. Seeing this happen to you makes me think there's something else behind it. I've posted in a few different forums but nobody has come up with an answer. There has to be someone out there that should know how to fix this issue hopefully!

[Q] Gmail vibrate after 4.3

After upgrading to 4.3, my Gmail is vibrating every time I get a new email. I didn't have it set to do that before the update. I checked the Gmail settings for each of my accounts and the vibration notification is off. How is this still happening? Any ideas?
Somebody else has to have this issue.
You could clear data for Gmail and set it up again or try looking in Settings/Sound maybe there's something there. I'm not on TW 4.3 to try first hand.

I might have to try that after work today.
I cleared the data on the Gmail app and I am still getting a vibration on a new email. I attached a screenshot of my settings for that account. The vibrate is unchecked. My phone is set to vibrate mode right now. It has a sound that is supposed to play so is that maybe switching the sound to a vibration instead since I'm in vibration mode?
I just came across this too after flashing the stock rooted 4.3 ROM.
There seems to be no solution for this, and GS4 people have been complaining about it for a while. Haven't seen a real solution yet unfortunately.
In my case, my phone is on vibrate most of the time. When it's not on vibrate it can be nice to hear an audible notification when I receive a new email. But to be honest, audible Gmail notifications aren't that critical for me. So I set the Gmail notification ringtone to Silent and now my GS3 doesn't vibrate when I receive emails.

Same! Same issue. Really is annoying.

OK, glad I'm not the only one that is having this issue. It's really annoying and I might just have to shut off the sound for it. Does shutting the sound off fix the vibration when you are in vibrate mode?

Yes, setting the notification tone inside the Gmail app to "Silent" will stop the phone from vibrating when you receive an email, while in vibrate mode.

Watch will not vibrate when phone is set to not vibrate

I was trying to set my note 5 to not vibrate and have only the Gear to vibrate for messages. Can't seem to get that working.
Anyone know how to do this?

On your gear manager app go to settings then notification and make sure you have show while using your phone turned on. Then you can turn you phone on silent and only have the watch vibrate.
I have that set but anytime my phone is silent, so is the gear.

Ok, it seems that using the do not disturb function does the trick. So I just set the schedule and it works.

Can you explain what do you do? In my case if I set do not disturb, the gear s3 won't vibrate.
Can you explain in details what did you do for make s3 vibrate while the phone is silent? thanks
