Gear Manager Update - Samsung Gear S2

Just got this, assume given S3 launch tomorrow it's related only to that as no difference whatsoever.

Just got the same update. Only difference i can see is there is a battery monitor to tell you what apps are using the battery the most

Gear app kept failing to update for me, so i uninstalled it, now i can install it at all. Perhaps they have suspended it, untill the release of the s3.

I noticed on the watch itself it has an option to manage notifications if you scroll left (if there's no active notifications there) but tapping it says ! Failed.
Though it's giving me problems. Not all my notifications are showing up now like they used to. Default SMS app notifications come through and calendar reminders. But Gmail and Facebook messenger aren't coming through (probably more, don't know of yet). Verified they're still set to show notifications on watch.

That was already there in the last update but never worked as never resets after a charge

Got the update also, could it have been the Gear Plugin that got updated? Mine is 2.2.03.16082251, not sure what it was before but this is a August update.

I noticed it too. I shut it down, recharged, and so far it's back to normal.

I think I know what is new after last upgrade. Now I recieve reports from Gear S2 when it registered some kind of sport activity, I don't remember anything like this earlier.

Yeah realised that when you get the move your arse alerts, when you do move it flicks to the activity screen - so kinds useful.

For SW2
Thought so. Sony's policy is the same as Samsung's if you want the latest firmware? Buy the latest device.

Double tap screen is cool too. I did, however, see a major change in battery life. I used to get 3 to 4 days and now I barely get one. Anyone else notice the same? I was wondering if it might be because I made a very busy custom watch face, but curious to see others' feedback...

I also have a massive battery drain in 5/6 hours 40% left

I have about 3% battery drain every hour with a watchface with 5 widget.

I saw someone mention in another thread that it might be double tap to wake causing the drain. I just turned it off; will report back after a day or two.
Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
I can confirm significant battery drain with double tap to wake turned on. I turned it off and my battery life returned to normal, even with 5 widgets on the watchface!

What am I doing wrong?

So I checked the battery stats and found that wifi was ON all the time. Even though i left the battery saver ON last noght for 10 hours and also turned on the stamina mode with Extened Stamina turned on too last night and I do it frequently too.
So whats causing this orange wifi bar to appear without breaking. I know that it breaks when it is turned off. So I dont know whats happening.
Any help will be appreciated
It is like caused by the mobile radio active bug in lollipop. You either have to root and disable a bunch of services, flash back to KitKat, or desk with it until Android m is released.
But you could set your WiFi to "stay active never" under the advanced WiFi settings. That provides a temporary solution for me, but some apps like Google services would still find a way to keep it active.
I eventually gave up and rolled back to KitKat. Couldn't be happier now!

Oh so i am not alone in this. Thank you for the useful information. I'll try your method but won't be rolling back to KK. I am happy with the device. Battery time isn't much affected.

If you've never used this phone with KitKat, then you don't realize what you're missing. My battery life doubled when I switched back to KitKat.

I'd like to know how to find these services that keep wifi on..
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Just to be sure, in advanced wifi settings, is "scan always available " unticked?

You'll never get them all without crippling your phone. It's a bug within Google services.

Yes its unticked and also i have extended stamina enabled. That should disable wifi automatically, right? But i have seen alot of people complaining about this issue at Sony forums. I am trying, at the moment, to repair the phone using PC companion. Will report back the result
Wish me luck:fingers-crossed:

Has anybody got a new update?

I'm running Tek's rom, so I can't see what it is, but I've been getting an update notification for the last day or so.

Random vibrations?

T-Mobile Galaxy S7 here. There are times when I'm using the phone and it suddenly vibrates, as if receiving a notification. The thing is, there is no notification being received. I've already checked the most probable causes: Notification Reminder in Accessibility and Smart Alert under Advanced Features. Both are off. I'm at a loss and the random vibrations get annoying.
Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
There has to be certain alerts or adverts coming up from one the apps.. try removing any online shopping apps or any such...
Else give a factory reset as a last resort..
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S7
I have that same vibration too. I'm on at&t doesn't happen all the time. Just out of the Blues vibrates lol.

That's what I'm talking about. It's so random. I might have to do a factory reset.

I had the same issue on my OPO, it was driving me nuts. It turned oit some ads on chrome when tapped once makes the phone vibrate, which got triggered evem when i wanted to scroll
I have problem with random vibrations on s7 edge. I think the cause of the problem is google play service. But if i uninstall gps i cant use some apps.
Are any of the S7/Edge's rooted or running custom ROMs?
I am on official samy rom

Anyone figure this out, mine has started doing it and it's bugging me.
I just realized mine stopped, though I don't remember when it stopped.

Skip confirmation of Google Now request

Hey guys,
In September last year, Google seemed to do away with confirmation of reminders/commands in Now (I.e. I would say "remind me at 6pm to take the bins out" and it would just do it). Now I have to confirm everything and it is super annoying to have my phone go "OK. DO YOU WANT ME TO SAVE THIS!!???" multiple times per day. Is there a way to remove the confirmation step?
Thanks

I got the update late last year, but it has since reverted back to the previous method of needing to confirm everything

I'm interesting in this too, it's very annoying to confirm a simple reminder, I'm not setting a nuclear bomb, I just want to set a reminder, just add it without confirmation!!!
