Of course I bumped into something... Nothing worth remembering though..

I'd like to know as well. I pulled the back off my note 5 but broke it. Got a replacement back, took off all the logos, painted it black and added tin paper so it would stick to a magnetic wireless charger. Would like to do the same with tjw note 7. It's also nice to have fresh adhesive to keep the water resistance.

Recently bought Nexus 4! Need help with which accessories.

Hello everyone!
I'm stuck and need some help in this situation.
Can anyone out there recommend me a really good screen protector and charger for the phone? I'd really appreciate it.
What's wrong with your stock charger?
What kind of screen protector are you looking for? Matte? Glossy? Are you looking for standard scratch protection or something more robust, like shatter protection?
Seriously, what is wrong with your stock charger...
For screen protector, check out this page http://www.squidoo.com/best-lg-google-nexus-4-screen-protector-top-5
For charger, if you have the budget, maybe you can try the Nexus 4 Wireless Charger which costs $59.99.
can't go wrong with Skinomi screen protector, they install easy, protect the entire front and back of phone and if you have any issues they are really helpful and even replace your screen protector for any reason.

I read that the stock charger burns the battery faster/killed the battery on another topic in this forum.

S-View flip cover defect?

I bought a flip cover, but it doesn't go all the way, and doesn't completely close. I removed it, and installed it again but that didn't solve it. Is it meant to be like this? I thought that it was supposed to snap magnetically and fully cover the screen
I have also installed a zagg screen protector installed, but I don't think that that should cause a problem like this. Is this a case of faulty design, or misinformed consumer? Pic included below.
I had the regular one and was not impressed. Did about the same...
Too much money for such a poor performer...
Yeah same issue here.
I am hoping the OtterBox for the S4 is going to be out within 2 weeks. If so, I'll return the S view cover for a refund and get the otterbox
The S-View cover DOES NOT magnetically close. Nor does the regular flip cover.
This is by design.

I didn't expect it to be magnetic, but if I lay my S4 down on a flat surface the cover should go down all the way. Mine stays open about 1/2" and doesn't fully close unless I hold it closed...

Wow, this case was like 60 bucks. This is just horrible design, which is a shame because I was looking forward to it. Back to ATT this cover goes -_-. Now to look for another case.
glad i opted ut of the original and bought a knock off from aliexpress for 8 bucks
It s just new, set it facing down for a little bit for it to set in.

Yeah I feel it should be magnetic, its 70 bucks for ****'s sake. But like the post above me said, it might just need to break in or be set face down for a while

I think you both got taken as I bought my s-view cover from a Smartone (mobile network operator) store here in Hong Kong for USD$29 yesterday. God knows why it's so expensive in the UK and US!!! It's a nice cover but definitely not worth $60

over a few weeks, it will loosen up and sit much tighter on the screen......but it still wont stay shut in the even of a fall...
I ordered this case from Amazon, but it must be coming on the slow train, because it's taking forever to arrive. I like that it has the s view option, but still protects the phone better than the official case. Hopefully it won't be a piece of junk.

Mine closes flat and did as soon as I installed it, but others I know at the same event would not stay shut.
I tried this out on my phone yesterday at Best Buy and I didn't like it at all. The fitment felt off for me. It was kinda nifty, though.

Camera lens housing all scuffed

I just noticed this morning that the housing that surrounds the lens is all scratched and scuffed. Phone is 2 weeks old, never dropped etc. I dont have a case for the phone so im guessing it was caused from being in my pocket. Has this happened to anyone else...its like I took sand paper to it.

I have been bothered by those damn scratches too! Then I saw a comment above about removing the plastic... I thought I had gotten all the packaging off but if you look closeley you will see the plastic scuffed ring in my photo. Glad I have that off now!!!
I'm thinking that plastic cover is the only thing keeping the lens off the surface when laying the phone down on anything "screen up".
It's a design flaw I suppose.
But I wouldn't take it off unless you have a case for your phone... Otherwise what's gonna keep the lens from physically touching the surface of the desktop or table when you lay your phone down screen up?
Alan.. Sent with Galaxy S4
How did you get the sticker off? I thought a sticker was there but some scratching seemed to fail and made me think I was wrong. Any special techniques used to remove it?
Anyone experience any lens scratching after removing the sticker and not having a case?
Well we know everyones protective cover gets all scratched up, mine included.
When you lay the camera down on its back the whole weight of the camera rest on the lens kind of a kind of a crappy set up if you ask me
Its only safe to assume the lens would get scratched also

Awesome! I'll give this a try. Thank you so much for your tip! Did you find that the camera lens touches the surface/gets scratched when you place the phone face up?
It's unfortunate the camera lens is designed to stick out past the backing slightly. It leads to scratches.
I think it's a result of thickness of the camera unit.
A nice fix with added benefit would be an OEM extended battery with battery cover to allow the lens to be inset from the backing.

Oleophobic coating scratching on a 3 week old phone?

I bought the galaxy s4 in the beginning of May. I did not put on a screen protector, having used iPhones from the 3G to the 5 the last 4 years, I have never had any screen scratches on any of them, so I assumed the galaxy series is the same thing.
Now just 3 weeks later, the top left of my display has a bunch of small scratches and glare spots. I know this is the oleophobic coating because if I wipe it down, the scratches all disappear, and only reappear after I put fingerprints on them and such. I haven't been near any beaches and I don't abuse my phones, and with my past 5 iphones, I have never had a scratch, so what gives?
By the way, since I am out of the 14 day return period, can I get this replaced under warranty? Should I go through AT&T or Samsung? Store or online?
I DO have Assurion, and my Citi Forward Visa would have a 50 dollar deductible to pay the 200 dollar Assurion deductible, so it would cost me only 50 for an Assurion replacement, but if I can do this through a warranty exchange, it would be better.

Serious question: did you have your earlobe pierced recently? I know earrings and piercings wear off the coating when you hold the phone to your ear.
If you do not want to bother with exchanging, maybe try cleaning it well and affixing a screen protector?
Have no thoughts on the return/exchange process (but bumping your msg up.

I could be wrong but as far as I've always understood oleophobic coatings all they do is resist fingerprints and has nothing to do with resisting scratches.. In fact its very easy to get very light superficial scratches in the coating itself and not the glass.. Again I could be wrong...
You can always call AT&T or Samsung and ask about if it could be a warranty issue... But I'm pretty sure they're going to tell you its normal wear and tear from everyday use
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
Ive had oleophobic coated screens in the past and once they started getting like that ive taken acetone or ensolv if you know what it is to it. Wiped it all around and it was perfect. It doesnt do anything to the glass but be careful about the phone itself, ensolv kind of melts plastic if you let it sit too long. My advice is to tape off the screen and try it out

Oleophobic coating helps resist scratches too believe it or not. The coating's best feature in my opinion is making the screen smooth to glide on and side benefit of that is resisting smudges. But I always use screen protectors so I don't get to experience it much. The good screen protectors with Oleophobic on them are on the pricey side.

So your carelessness is AT&T's fault?
To you and the OP, you both claim to be very careful with your phone but have 'lots of scratches' seems to me you were not that careful. I had my note 2 fir a month, with the flip cover, not a scratch. It fell on a floor face down and the cover opened from my lap while sitting in a chair, a few small scratches occured. Guess what, my fault. I bought a screen protector (only one I could find locally was the one that came with an otterbox commuter case). Seems like you should accept responsibility for what happens to your phone after you take it home.

Metal frame housing

Hey Guys! Question, I saw Max Lee (high on android) take his note 5 apart, was curious where you can get the parts for the note 5. I have a tmobile note 5 and LOVE it, but got clumsy and dropped it, and dinged up the edge of the frame. There is someone that lives about 20min from selling the metal rear frame housing + loud speaker, only pickle is its for sprint. Having it be just the housing/frame, would it be ok to use for tmobile or are there parts in there that are going to be conflicting? I hate having a dinged up phone, so instead of getting a new one, just thought it would be easier to get the housing/frame and replace that. Any suggestions where to get it or if that sprint housing/frame would work?
