Metal frame housing - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hey Guys! Question, I saw Max Lee (high on android) take his note 5 apart, was curious where you can get the parts for the note 5. I have a tmobile note 5 and LOVE it, but got clumsy and dropped it, and dinged up the edge of the frame. There is someone that lives about 20min from selling the metal rear frame housing + loud speaker, only pickle is its for sprint. Having it be just the housing/frame, would it be ok to use for tmobile or are there parts in there that are going to be conflicting? I hate having a dinged up phone, so instead of getting a new one, just thought it would be easier to get the housing/frame and replace that. Any suggestions where to get it or if that sprint housing/frame would work?

I've replaced my back glass 5 times, metal frame 1 and lcd and digitizer 1. Bought all parts for sprint from ebay.

Broke the back twice in a case. I already gave that phone away anyways, just like the note 3 for att, note 4 for t mobile, note 4 for att. I bought the s7 edge, and yes it's in a case, but I doubt for long. Haha.

Xgear tempered glass screen protector coming December-January!

Just received an email from Xgear
" We currently have tempered glass in development for the Nexus 4, we estimate that it will be ready by December-January."
YES! can't wait! Loved the one I had on my gnex
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
IIRC, Xgear got a lot of flak for the mildly-visible dot layout on their S3 glass protector. Also, I'm noticing while I type, the phone seems a lot less sensitive than my S3. Hopefully it doesn't screw it up for the people that actually want this!
I actually hated the one on my Galaxy Nexus. I think the curved display is what ruined the soft key sensitivity. Hopefully this one will be better because it's a flat phone.

Awesome! I hate the feeling of other screen protectors.

how does this stuff compare to SGP GLAS.t??
I've read that SGP's stuff is made in the same factory that produces the protectors for XGear now.
I bought three of the Galaxy Nexus protectors when they came out; had one on the VZW GNex that I sold, have one on the GSM GNex that I'm about to ship to a friend on Friday (sold it, bought another 8G Nexus 4 to be my spare), and I have a third left over that's going out with the phone too. Always had great results, LOVED them, didn't mind the "dots" at all and never had any adhesive/curve problems.
I hate using a wet-apply type (BSE for now) protector on my N4's front glass, but it's all I have until XGear or whoever they rebrand from actually releases a product.

The big question is: How well will it play with the curved sides of the screen of the Nexus 4?
^ This!
What do you guys mean by dots on the screen?
I don't think the dots are going to be on the screen. The dots were on the original Galaxy Nexus screen but they revised it

Today, you can pre-order the screen for $25.50. Comes out to apx $31 after shipping for me.

Yeh sorry forgot to mention use discount code HOLIDAY12 so save some dough!
Looks interesting.
Too bad they don't sell these in retail stores. I'm the only one of my friend's w/ a N4 so I won't be able to see it in person. Too expensive to try. Will wait for you guys to review... haha

This does seem pretty interesting and I might give it a shot. Hopefully it should fit fine with the bumpers on.

S-View flip cover defect?

I bought a flip cover, but it doesn't go all the way, and doesn't completely close. I removed it, and installed it again but that didn't solve it. Is it meant to be like this? I thought that it was supposed to snap magnetically and fully cover the screen
I have also installed a zagg screen protector installed, but I don't think that that should cause a problem like this. Is this a case of faulty design, or misinformed consumer? Pic included below.
I had the regular one and was not impressed. Did about the same...
Too much money for such a poor performer...
Yeah same issue here.
I am hoping the OtterBox for the S4 is going to be out within 2 weeks. If so, I'll return the S view cover for a refund and get the otterbox
The S-View cover DOES NOT magnetically close. Nor does the regular flip cover.
This is by design.

I didn't expect it to be magnetic, but if I lay my S4 down on a flat surface the cover should go down all the way. Mine stays open about 1/2" and doesn't fully close unless I hold it closed...

Wow, this case was like 60 bucks. This is just horrible design, which is a shame because I was looking forward to it. Back to ATT this cover goes -_-. Now to look for another case.
glad i opted ut of the original and bought a knock off from aliexpress for 8 bucks
It s just new, set it facing down for a little bit for it to set in.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk HD
Yeah I feel it should be magnetic, its 70 bucks for ****'s sake. But like the post above me said, it might just need to break in or be set face down for a while

Tax? Either way $59 doesn't sound any better for a case that doesn't stay shut on it's own, I wouldn't even pay $39.

I think you both got taken as I bought my s-view cover from a Smartone (mobile network operator) store here in Hong Kong for USD$29 yesterday. God knows why it's so expensive in the UK and US!!! It's a nice cover but definitely not worth $60
Yeah and there are $8 knock offs on Amazon already.

over a few weeks, it will loosen up and sit much tighter on the screen......but it still wont stay shut in the even of a fall...
I ordered this case from Amazon, but it must be coming on the slow train, because it's taking forever to arrive. I like that it has the s view option, but still protects the phone better than the official case. Hopefully it won't be a piece of junk.

Mine closes flat and did as soon as I installed it, but others I know at the same event would not stay shut.
I tried this out on my phone yesterday at Best Buy and I didn't like it at all. The fitment felt off for me. It was kinda nifty, though.

Mine doesn't sit flat either. I'm gonna keep it a few days on it's face to see if it loosens up a bit. I only paid $20 for the official one so even if I don't like it it's not a huge loss.

Broken screen. Wat do?

Dropped my phone getting out of my SI. It was on my lap. Case on it. Cracked the glass. What do i do? Would google repair it Or lg? Any idea on price? Or Would taking it to a cell phone repair shop be cheaper?
My digitizer and lcd are fine. Just shatterd the glass.
Any good tips/tricks to get me thru till Its fixed?
Still have on the screen protector. Would taking it off makes the digitizer brake?
Any info is helpful.
Pretty bummed it happened. It broke my damaged phone cherry, So to say. Hahaha.

Firstly,go to your local repair shop and check the prices yourself.Screen repairs are often expensive,it can cost you 1/2 price of the phone itself.Well... If you can live without this phone, buy a new phone instead

Lg or Google is the best bet.
First of all. The glass is the digitizer. Same part. And the LCD and digitizer are fuzed. You need to replace the entire front panel. That part alone is roughly $130 to $150usd. Lg charges 150 usd. A shop would still need to buy the part.

So if i got one off ebay, could i do it myself? Or Would it be 10/10 hard?

Look on Youtube for an iFixit video/tutorial if it is available yet. Here`s a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPuCmfhzgbg for instance.
I've seen many how-to videos on screen replacement. I would def try to do it myself.

[Q] Black frame with white back

Hello guys, let me explain my situation. I own the white 32gb nexus 5 since day one.
I dropped my phone yesterday and, as a result, the screen is now broken and there is a huge damage on top, beside the microphone.
I was looking for replacement part and I guessed if I could assemble the black matte frame with my white back cover.
The new phone will be black earpiece, matte black sides and white soft back.
Would you guys suggest me following this path?
I'm used to manipulate electronics, working on this phone doesn't sound like a problem at all for me.
I would like to point out that the Nexus 5 has it's screen glued. This makes replacement difficult.

Yeah, there's actually a guide but my account is to new to post it. Op, check out ifixit. It has a great Nexus 5 teardown tutorial.
goo.gl/vzmOQN maybe this will work?

Would you think that this mod is worth?
I'm quite worried about the result.
Do you think the two parts will match well together?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk[/QUOTE]
I'm not exactly qualified to say personally but if you are used to working with electronics, then you can give it a try. After all the screen is broken and most of the other parts are easy enough to fix a far as far as the tear down says. I would personally think that replacing the earpiece would be relatively easy. After all the Nexus 5 has a very high repair ease rating.

Of course I bumped into something... Nothing worth remembering though..
I'd like to know as well. I pulled the back off my note 5 but broke it. Got a replacement back, took off all the logos, painted it black and added tin paper so it would stick to a magnetic wireless charger. Would like to do the same with tjw note 7. It's also nice to have fresh adhesive to keep the water resistance.
