is it possible???? - HTC One A9

Hi for everyone. i have A9 ATT originaly, but i did s-off and reflash unlocked version RUU and then Dev edition RUU.after sim insert it ask me for unlock code again. my unlock code wich i buy from HTC Premium service is non acceptable. Any idea???????

your device is s-off
you flashed another RUU after altered CID?
you have flashed twrp recovery?
you have not format data? Then do it

yes, i flashed last RUU for unlocked A9 after super CID then install last TWRP , SU and format data.in bootloader still software status: modified.

you can ignore software status - no relevance - only for OTA

Hi,
The new 4.0.3 firmware shows the bootloader as "locked".
It isn't really locked ,it is just shown as locked.
I have installed 3 ROMS with my "locked" bootloader.
Some fastboot commands are locked with the new firmware i believe. If u had s-off and custom recovery before installing u can install stuff through recovery. If u don't have a custom recovery check the development forum
But i cant install new Rom
You should install the rom via Clockwork recovery, Same process as before

Unlocking via Revolutionary gets re-locked with the firmware upgrade too.
The 1.23 firmware should be unlockable soon by the way. HTC wants the HTCDev.com method to work for it, but it's got a glitch. I am to understand they are working on it.
Once that's fixed i am to understand that fastboot commands should work again even on 1.23.

[Guide] Root Official ICS ROM HBoot 1.27.000 Easely without S-Off

Good day my dear friends,
Boring Intro------
Yesterday I was trying to root my wife's HTC Sensation which I upgraded to Official Middle East ICS 4.0.3 hboot 1.27.000 and I found this way by pure luck-----
I installed CMW and did the rooting while the device is S-ON
I'm not sure if this is a new method or was done before but I thought I'd share it to return some of your favors in this great forum.
I need to thank Mr.hasoon2000 because we will use his tol from the HTC One X forum.
Requirements:
1. Download the HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 from this link, Thanks Mr.hasoon2000 I hope you don't mind me using your tool here.
2. Download the latest CMW recovery , choose the latest for Pyramid (The Sensation) in *.img. Here is the CMW 5.8.0.9 link.
3. Download SuperSU 0.88.zip, thanks Mr.Chainfire or from this link [23.04.2012] SuperSU v0.88.
Step By Step Method:
1. Copy the SupperSU.zip file to your SD root.
2. Extract the HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 to the Disktop.
3. Connect your Mobile and make sure you're in the charging mood and your check USB development or debugging option.
4. Run the One X.exe application.
5. Install the HTC drivers.
****If you unlocked your Sensation's bootloader from HTCdev.com then skip step 6 ****
6. Register in HTCdev.com website, choose Unlock Bootloader, choose your device and follow the instructions. ~This May Void your Warranty~
7. Rename the CWM recovery to CWM5827, then copy it to HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit folder/Data folder/recoveries and replace the one inside.
8. Flush the CWM recovery using the toolkit, horray you installed CWM.
9. From Commands choose Boot into recovery and from CWM flush the SuperSU.zip.
10. Congratulations, You're Now ROOTED .
Note: Sorry for My Bad English.
I would like to confirm the information above. Just rooted an unlocked EU version of Sensation XE running the 4.0.3 and hboot 1.27.000. Everything worked as supposed.
Kudos TheSnakeX!
This is how u do it on every Hboot. OLD news
And u dont have to use that ONE X tool.
Just HTCDEV unlock your phone (this whill void your waranty)
Download CWR in PG58IMG.zip
Extract the recovery.img from PG58IMG.zip
open command propt and do a "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Reboot your phone in recovery and flash SU
Done your root
I would thank all of you for your thanks and replays
I want to remind you that I said that I'm not sure if this was old news or new, but I can see that people are benefiting from this method.

just a question:choosing unlock bootloader from htc dev,I lost my warranty? Thanks
Not entirely. The HTC's disclaimer is interpretable. At least this is my take on that: if unlocking the bootloader you mess up your phone by overclocking it, they will make you pay for any repair. But if - let say- some buttons begin to malfunction they will repair under warranty because that would be manufacturing flaw. This will change of course ASAP someone will come with some straightforward noobproof method to undo the unlocking ;o)
My device just verified that my sensation has been rooted. Thank you, it's working on hboot 1.27.000
Htc Sensation Vodafone Turkey
Now ICS with S-On it only way for S-OFF and Root must be first is unlocked boot loader by office HTC_Dev so you may lost your warranty. Is it correct ?
Unlocking the bootloader might void your warranty.
Yet, I bricked my sensation long time ago, it was rooted and S-off. And when I took it to HTC care they replaced the motherboard on the warranty, which means that if they discover that it was unlocked (soft brick) they will not repair it otherwise they will.
If for example there was some other problem in your phone, and you still can log into your bootloader, then I think using the same method from HTCdev, you can relock your bootloader and reflush the RUU package.
For now we can root RUU ICS roms while S-ON using this method. To make it S-Off you need to see this thread [S-OFF] Juopunutbear S-OFF by Mr.globatron

This error occurs if you had your mainboard replaced by HTC. It causes an IMEI <-> SN missmatch or something similar.
They are working on a solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616836

HTCdev Unlock bootloader
HI,
I wonder if someone can give me confirmation for peace of mind..
I was reading through the small prints in the htc unlocker, and it says that all personal data and installed softwares will be erased to protect personal data by carring out the unlock procedure.
The very reason I wanted to root the phone was so that I could install clockworks and the likes that allow me to do full backup of the phone (and remove bloatware), and those software's requirement are that I am rooted.
IN order to root, I will lose everything installed on my phone? What about apps i have purchased through the market?
Does my google account somehow remember that I have purchased it before, and allow me to download the same apps again without charge?
Or is it that the unlocking procedure does not mess with my installed apps and all personal data?
I hope it is the latter, otherwise it means that people are going ahead with unlocks at the cost of hassle incurred from setting up your phone again....
Someone have simple answer?
Thanks
Finally found a way to get rooted, thank you very much!
Great Job and credits to all who helped get this to work.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Now rooted thanks to you!!!!
Many thanks
Can you install custom roms after applying this method?

CID

Quick questions!!
My CID is BM__001 (Bell Mobility Canada). It is rooted, unlocked bootloader and CWRM recovery
I want the latest update (4,1 sense and not the 4.0 I'm stuck with and down the line the latest jellybean) WITHOUT a custom rom!
If I change Cid to HTC__001 I have read I can apply the international unbranded RUU and I will get them.
1. Will I have to flash radios or anything of the sort in order to make it work with my network in Canada?
2. What are the advantages of keeping my Bell CID?
3. What are the advantages of CHANGING to the HTC__001 CID?
4. Is it possible without s-off?
Sorry for the noobish questions put couldnt find simple answers to these questions!

If your phone already has the bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery why not just flash a rom?
Thanks for the answer!
Because I want to be able to OTA update without loosing all my data and settings..
With a custom ROM it will be a bit more of a hassle.
1. If I change my CID will I have to flash the RUU or will it do it by itself?

You would have to run a RUU with the one you would like to receive future updates from. This will relock your bootloader so you would have to unlock it again through htcdev.

[Q] How to go back to at&t stock rom?

Hi everybody,
I have the HTC One X from AT&T (evita), I installed a custom rom but now I want to back to the OFFICIAL Stock Rom AT&T.
My phone is already "sim-unlocked".
1- I must install the OTA or the RUU file on my phone?
2- After this, must I unlock the sim again?
3- And could I receive the OTA update even if I don't use AT&T sim?
Thank you for your attention and your answer.

Sim unlocking has nothing to do with installing custom/stock roms.
Do you mean "Bootloader unlocked" ??
**BE CAREFULL** Many people have bricked there devices flashing a stock ROM when they ran the Super CID hack.
At this point the WISEST course of action I can give you is to use the S-OFF hack available on here, Facepalm S-Off for your device (That does require Super CID) and Root. Once S-Off is set the correct factory ROM for phone won't brick your device.

You need an unlocked bootloader to install recovery, not root.
As per AT&T, HTC blocks bootloader unlocks for AT&T customers. To do this, HTCDEV.com blocks any requests for bootloader unlocks which have an AT&T CID.
Because of this, for AT&T customers only, one must change their CID in order to trick HTCDEV.com into allowing a bootloader unlock.
To gain write access to the file that needs changing to spoof the CID, you need root access.
So what this means:
To flash recovery, you need bootloader unlocked, not root.
But because AT&T OneXLs needs to spoof the CID before unlocking the bootloader, they require root.
For AT&T > Root > SuperCID > Unlock bootloader > Flash twrp
For everyone else Skip right to > Unlock bootloader > Flash twrp
Because you do not have an AT&T phone, you will have no problems unlocking the bootloader to flash a custom recovery.
At first, things can be confusing because many posts don't really make a point of saying that those steps are only needed if you are with AT&T but when you read more than just one post, and make a point of trying to understand what you're doing, things become clearer.
right managed to get the bootloader unlocked and i am rooted
i have installed team win recovery v2.5.0.0

just found out i only have 1gb free of space on my memory so it was not enough to backup

Considering your version (EVITA) the "international version" will get you into trouble. Most people consider the quad core Tegra3 variant ENDEAVOURU the "international" version. Yes, this is confusing, and dates back to the time when the ENDEAVORU was available in multiple countries across Europe and other regions, and the EVITA was only available in North America. Of course, the EVITA is available in many countries now, so the term "international" is basically meaningless. Stick to ROMs for the dual core Snapdragon S4 version of the One X/XL, and you will be okay.
Better yet, just use my Index thread. Any of the ROMs linked here are fine for the EVITA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237

If your phone was shipped with Jellybean, or your RUU or OTA'ed to it, the touchpad firmware was upgraded, and will not work with any AOSP ROMs.
You can downgrade the touchpad firmware, but you need to be S-off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159863

If you tried to do a factory reset in bootloader, you corrupted the SD card (known bug, don't ever do it, always factory reset in recovery).
See Question 15 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136172
There are also other fixes for this, if you search around this forum.

bit messy this flashing business lol
for some reason cleanrom wont install it was stuck on the boot logo for about 30 mins
i did try and flash the boot.img from the rom as well with the same results

when an update comes out does it wipe the custom recovery and root?
really struggling to find a proper ruu for my phone and the only one i could find as a .zip file
