I have used tempered glass protectors with all of my previous Notes and wanted continue the trend with my Note 7. The glass protectors are my preference because I can have protection and maintain the authenticity of the real screen. What made them great is that once applied, it stuck evenly to the entire screen and had the illusion of having no protection at all.
To my disappointment, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Note 7 glass protectors will not be following the same adhesive technique. All of the products ive seen so far are minimal adhesive, which means they only stick at the top and bottom of the screen or at the top, bottom, and sides. It could be that this is the only possible adhesive technique due to the design of the phone. But if there is ANY protectors that have the original full adhesive option I would definitely appreciate if someone could point ???? me in that direction.
I haven't found a single one that uses full adhesives yet, unfortunately. I'm just going to end up going with a film protector, which I'm not a fan of, but it's better than nothing
As far as im aware you wont find one. People.are Just pissing money away buying all these screen protectors. They seemingly come from the same manufacturers just labeled differently. I've already been down this road with the s6 edge. This go around i went with the samsung screen protector as it seems to have the best reviews (not glass)

Very disappointing...
Don't spend any money on these.....there is not a single one that has a full area adhesive. And no matter what all the reviewers say, those with only partly applied adhesive suck. It is glass upon glas, meaning that sooner or later there will be dirt between the glass and the protector. Also, light reflectance is terrible due to the protector having a small air gap between the display and the tempered glass.
I honestly and deeply hate Samsung for offering those damn crappy curved screens....

Yes, it would have been SO much better if they had just made it a flat screen. I would've definitely traded a couple mm in width for a real flat display!
Does anyone have any ideas why the hell they are only applying adhesive to the sides of these things?
Extremely annoying. Had to do insurance claim on S7 Edge 3-4 weeks ago because my screen shattered, and now the Note 7. First 2 destroyed screens in my life. I'm definitely not going to continue with the edge models after this.
If anyone finds (eventually) a tempered glass protector that has full coverage/adhesive please let us know. I'm going with a wallet case until I get one.
I bought a full (curved) coverage tempered screen protector for my N7 - adhesive only on the very edges. It totally sucked, I returned (still have yet to be reimbursed). Then I ordered a tempered glass protector that covers only the flat parts of the screen. It arrived today. It sucks too. the enter left edge about a 1/4" in is not adhering to the screen, and neither is the top left and bottom. So in other words, the adhesive on this one sucks too. All I want is a tempered screen protector like I have used on my phones for at least the last 3 years. Never had a problem with any of them on other phones. IDK why the one I got today that only covers the flat part of the screen isn't adhering correctly, but it is making the display look like crap. There is adhesive on the entire screen protector, but it doesn't matter if the left edge (the entire edge) and left top and bottom are not sticking down to the display. I will have yet another return it looks like. I am now looking for just a plastic protector for the flat part - like the one that came on the phone out of the box. I still have that one, but it got some dust on it since I took it off to install my crappy tempered protectors that are not worth using. Hopefully I can find a plastic one that only covers the flat part of the screen. I realize this will only help with scratches and not breaks like the tempered protector, but that is the tradeoff for a curved display sadly.

It's the Eyescreen Everdry Protector, but it seems to be available in Taiwan only ATM for 700 Taiwan dollars. And well, no idea from the translation if it is really fullscreen adhesive.
But i don't think that it is fully covered with adhesive.
My approach to solve the dust problem would be to design a protector with colored parts at top and bottom with adhesive around all cut outs for camera, homebutton etc. With adhesive in all edges that should solve dust issues.

Alot of people are talking about the iPhone 6 having a Sapphire Screen, if you want the Sapphire Screen on your S5, your wish has been granted.
An unkown Screen Protector brand called: "Aero-Gear" with the slogan: "Born from Aerospace" has advertized a screen protector called: "Flight Glass SX" housing the Sapphire Crystal material, and they have been doing it for several months, right now they are taking preorders for the Galaxy S5 Protector. They have been showing people the durability of the Sapphire screen for a while, from hitting an iPhone with a razor blade, to sliding a concrete block over it, no scratches or cracks and it's easier to wipe the dust than the regular Gorilla Glass Screen. Here are the videos:
maybe i would have to see some real world stuff, ive seen alot of this done to Gorilla glass before and we all know how something like sand can still scratch it.
I checked the website and at 0.6mm this is really thick, A credit card is 0.76mm for comparison.
Glass protectors are generally 0.015mm to 0.4mm. I'd think a 0.6mm glass one would be pretty dang tough also.
I'd be concerned with case fit/interference for the slimmest cases at that thickness; anyone gonna go for one?

Gorilla Glass is 7H in Mohs Hardness, sand I think is 9H, meaning that Sand could scratch whatever below it. Sapphire Crystal is 10H they claim, meaning that sand can't scratch it. For the real life test, skip to 1:42 in this video:
When are they going to be shipped? I'll wait until I read some reviews on it. I have a Zagg Glass on my S5, and a otterbox defender soon to be swapped out for a Kraken and maybe a Zerolemon. seems pretty thick like delawaredrew is saying, I'd like to see it on a s5 and in a bunch of cases for compatibility.

Probably in a couple of days it will ship. The design covers the camera, sensors, recent apps and back button, and has a cutout for the speaker grill and home button. It is a bit thick, but you won't notice the thickness. I may post my own review for the protector.

i can see by that video that that screen protector is hugely thick, compared to the tempored one i have, its also not cheap at 53$ on amazon for the iphone 5 version, thats just too expensive i can buy 5-10 tempored glass screen protectors for the same price.

That's the simulated screen protector, the real screen protector is much thinner, besides that, I don't care about the price.
Tempered Glass gets scratched by sand and sapphire does not.
This is how thin the sapphire protector is: prntscr.com/40ohyt
But will the sapphire screen protector fit with a case? My zagg glass fits my defender and Kraken case fine.
just have a look at a Rolex or a tag both have sapphire glass if you are looking for real world appeal of you will find many 15 to 20 year old Rolex's with beat up casings and the glass is immaculate

Just for the sake of Accuracy and Comparison:
Here is the Mohs Hardness scale.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohs_scale_of_mineral_hardness
Sand is usually comprised of quartz particles, and is a 7 on the Mohs scale.
Sand can scratch an equal hardness or less.
"Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided rock and mineral particles. The composition of sand is highly variable, depending on the local rock sources and conditions, but the most common constituent of sand in inland continental settings and non-tropical coastal settings is silica (silicon dioxide, or SiO2), usually in the form of quartz."
Im not convinced it's near worth it. An essentially no-name company claiming sapphire. for $50 or so
From the video the glass held up nearly as well in their test. And you can buy 3-4 glass ones off of Amazon (got a nice one for $16) for the price of one of theirs; meaning you can replace it if it cracks or the rare chance it scratched bad enough ALMOST FOUR TIMES. Over the course of ownership of 2 years, you can replace it every 6 months with new fresh glass for the same price; or more frequently if you're a yearly swapper- once every 3 months.
I also don't buy the hammer test. As we've seen in drop tests screens can crack or not crack at random. The screen under the protector is still glass people. The force will transfer through the protector and crack the glass under regardless of the material on top of it (glass or sapphire). Basic physics.

I wish...
My AT&T Note 4 is one of those "steep" curved black models and the top and bottom of the iVisor sticks (well 70% of it), and the side adhesive doesn't touch the phone's glass at all.
Sure it doesn't halo, but the sides don't adhere, leaving a gap for dust and general pocket "stuff" to get under the screen protector.
Also, the capacitive buttons became more annoying to use with the Moshi iVisor vs just your typical PET film. At least in my experience, not completely sure why tbh.
Ended up with a Zagg HDX, which does adhere with my phone's ridiculous screen curvature. Not bad but not glass, oh well. At least the AT&T store allowed me to return it :crying:
Can't we apply a second screen protector beneath the Moshi iVisor?
Also, do you have pictures of this protector installed on the Note 4?

I suppose you could, the adhesive only does around the edge of the iVisor.
I don't have pictures of it installed but I do of the bottom after a million installs, it's dirty on the bottom simply due to my stupidity in cleaning it and using a microfiber to dry instead of following the directions. My fault on the dirty-ness entirely, I even showed the AT&T rep and he said not to worry.
The AT&T store already took it back without any issues and refunded me the $48 + tax, so I'm fine. Granted not satisfied but for now the Zagg will have to do. For the record, the crying emoticon was for the fact it wasn;t as perfect as I had wished, not the I couldn't return it... my error in placing it there.
These pictures I took to send to my brother anyways showing the adhesive and how the screen curves, bear in mind, it's flat, just that the top of the glass is curved, so it in itself is 2.5D or whatever the term is but it's still a flat sheet of glass, therefore, for those of us special Note 4 owners with really curvy screens, we're still out of luck.
Imgur Album (just 4 shots): http://imgur.com/a/aOGue
Edit: Also, for reference, only the home button is actually cut out, all of the other things like the front facing camera, capacitive buttons, notification LED and Samsung branding have glass over them.
Our local AT&T store has these in stock..................will pick one up in the morning and report back.

I believe that the actual screen/display area does not stick at all with the Moshi. The only thing that sticks are the top, bottom and the actual thin sides.
I worry about the rainbow effect like with the Defender's built in screen protector.
The AT&T store wants $48. plus tax.
Here we go again. Smh..
Can't you buy and return if it doesn't fit right? You might as well order from Moshi's website. At least they have a 30-day return policy even for opened items. They have that satisfaction guarantee policy.

I'll buy it at the AT&T store in the morning and if it turns out to be crap I'll just get a refund there in the next day or so. Looks like a great idea but I'm worried about no adhesives behind the actual glass display areas.:silly:
Definitely take some pictures while you're at it.
If there is no adhesive behind the actual tempered glass in the display area, I might first install a regular PET Screen Protector that has full edge to edge coverage like the XtremeGuardz (6-Pack for $3 on eBay) and then overlay the PET film with the Moshi. At least that will even the coverage out. According to Moshi, their tempered glass is more rigid than Zagg's, Iloome's, and Otterbox; and I actually believe them.
Here are the screen protectors in my possession right now:
Otterbox Alpha Glass (being Returned for Refund)
Zagg Glass, Revised (Keeping as backup), costed me $14.29
Zagg HDX (Keeping as backup), costed me $13.60
iLoome Flex (Keeping as backup), costed me $19.99
Spigen Crystal PET Screen Protectors 3-Pack ($9.99)
6-Pack XtremeGuardz HD PET Screen Protectors ($2.99)- Excellent Coverage
6-Pack Supershieldz PET Screen Protectors ($4.99)- Coverage is so-so
1x Otterbox Commuter PET Screen Protector - Included with Purchase
*Italics denote that these purchases were negligible.
Tomorrow, I will be making the final decision between the Commuter and Defender Series cases, depends on what the fitment of the replacement case.

I'm going to pick one up in the morning and see what it's all about.
If the edges stick real good it would be perfect for the Otterbox commuter as It's rubber edges will seal the whole thing up nice.
I'll be the Guinea Pig and pick one up in the morning and give it a whirl.
This looks like the edge to edge screen protectors for iPhones; probably have the same "feature". The colored part has no glue and simply floats over the curved edge of the screen. This is not a curved screen protector; at least for iPhone, this works best for those wanting a thin case as the glass will float over the case making it seem more seamless. For those going naked, this will be very annoying.
I guess this will be good for those (like me) that really wanted to put a tempered glass screen protector along with the built in screen protector on the Defender Series case, but couldn't so. Definitely keep us posted, especially with pictures.

Kinda reminds me of built in screen protector found in the Otterbox Defender series case. Otterbox really failed this time around, and perhaps this might be a viable solution for me.

In the first picture I posted, I tried to catch that, so I may not have, but yes there is adhesive on the sides as well, which due to my Note's ridiculous curvature, didn't adhere, letting dust and all the general pocket dust slide right under the glass.
The glass portion on the screen has absolutely no adhesive, it's ever-so-slightly lifted due to the adhesive around the edges, which is why it never bubbles but can have crud caught under it.
Though, in all fairness, while any Otterbox case for me is an instant "no" (bulk), if you get a case that can essentially bite down on the sides preventing stuff from sliding in under the screen, you may have one hell of a winning combination
Guys, I am currently using the ivisor glass, see post#1880 on the tempered glass topic. Took some pix with 2 cases: samsung protective cover+ and otterbox commuter. The protective cover fits much better. It's like the ivisor was made to fit with the samsung covers. The commuter is a little tight on the 2 sides, corners go over the ivisor. Can't download pix right now cause i don't have cable or sd slot on my work PC to download from my camera. I'll try to upload pix this evening.

This glass only attaches at the top and bottom, not the sides. The glass itself is not curved, thus there will be a gap on both sides. What prevents dust, hair, dirt, lint, etc from getting in between the glass and the phone through these huge openings on both sides?
Thanks!
Greg
A good case like the samsung protective cover+ or cases that have similar fit. No dust so far in the 6 days of use.

In my opinion I would not recommend the ivisor glass for people who do not use case or a case similar to the 2 case that I have tested. I think if you drop the phone and landed on any corner or side it would probably come off with the impact force as there is not enough adhesive surfaces.
I found this one, wondering if anyone tried this one yet....?

Right now all the screen protectors are bad.
Until they come up with a new and improved version, assume all are bad.
I've tried two on Amazon and got the exact same results.
I asked for and received a refund both times.

That's the only decent screen protector that fits right now. There's also a matte finish one. It's not tempered glass, but you get 8. The fit is much better than all of the tempered glass ones on Amazon. It's not 100% perfect as tiny bit of the edge don't stick but you won't notice from the distance unlike the current tempered glass.

If any part of a screen protector doesn't stick then all manner of stuff will get stuck in between. For those w/ colored borders, that's not much of an issue but completely clear ones will eventually show all the dust and stuff on it.

I don't like the feel of this stuff on the screen. It doesn't feel smooth.
It's 3M Urethane film. I have it on the front of my cars.

The essential screen isn't flat. I don't see a viable glass protector coming. It'd have to be super thin with a really strong adhesive to make it stick to the sides.

Actually much like the iPhone, it's flat until you get to the edge.
If the current round of protectors was 2mm smaller they would fit.
But for me, it doesn't matter.
I'm returning the phone.
There's still a thin bezel on the side that can handle adhesive on it so if they release one with black borders, I'd get it as the black borders won't show the halo effect even if it's not completely stuck on the outer edges. That's what I have on my iPhones. The display area is glass while the borders are plastic so they flex more.

Jus wait for the accessories to start coming out. Sounds like essential is open to 3rd parties making cases and screen protectors... So just got to hold on...this is what it sounded like from the reddit AMA
I have a Sopi 3M matte skin on the back and it helps with the grip a little but not by much... definitely helps w/ the fingerprints though... lol since it's matte, there can be visible smudges from time to time depending on how dirty/sweaty your paws are... I did read the AMA and they should've worked w/ case manufacturers long before release. I understand they want to keep it close to their vest until release (as to not tip off the competition) but they didn't ship the phone until much later than they said they would so in that time they could've sent out the outside schematics/dimensions to case manufacturers. No excuse!
The situation is the same for any devices that have curved edges. I'm not sure why companies just don't apply adhesive to the whole screen protector. A solution is using UV glue on a glass screen protector that isn't fully covered with adhesive. I've used the Whitedome on my Galaxy S8+ and it works really well. You should be able to buy the UV glue and UV lamp from Amazon and apply it to any glass screen protector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KZmF8uQESI
Hello all, I have tried a couple of tempered glass screen protectors; I have also read many many reviews.
It seems that there is no tempered glass protector that would be full screen; fit (most) cases and does not release on the edges for all.
I actually did not mind the screen protector which was installed by 1+ when I got the phone (and I did not like the tempered glass ones I tried).
So I contacted them today asking if I could buy a couple of those. To my biggest disappointment I was advised that although I am not the first one to ask, they do not consider the included screen protector to be a "product" and so they do not sell it even if I wanted a large quantity.
I spent some time researching ebay - but most (nearly all) sellers sell only tempered glass (which I don't want). The few seller that sell films are very expensive ($10+ vs. $1 for the tempered glass). That is also surprising as the cost of the film is much less...
So, my question to you all: who has tried film screen protectors? Where did you get it from and what experience did you have?
Thank you for sharing
I personally use 3MK Flexible glass - its hibrid glass. I use it from years, now on OP6. I think its the best option for any phone

I don't have one installed at the moment, testing a G-Most TPG. But the fit is pretty precise, need patience to get it even on both sides. It's case friendly.

I installed it. its a little bigger than I'd like. if it were maybe 1 cm smaller all around it would be perfect fit. im sure you can align this to fit correctly, but it leaves no room for error. ill try and get a pic.

Hmm, thats not good. Is it equally too big each way or is it just difficult to install totally centered, so its big on one side only?
A pic would help for sure.
I finally found regular PET protectors similar to the OEM ones that fit the phone well and are of good quality. I got them from here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/5X-Ultra-Thin-Tempered-Glass-PET-Soft-HD-Screen-Protector-Film-For-OnePlus-6/163161457336?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=462326426650&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
The adhesive is pretty sticky on them so they don't lift off but it's hard to get them perfectly bubble free. The way I get these on perfect every time is put rubbing alcohol all over the screen then apply the protector and set it in place exactly centered (it's easy to move because of the alcohol) Then lightly push down on it and very lightly push out some of the alcohol so you don't see any bubbles. Then wait five minutes and peel off the front layer then lightly with a small cloth push out the rest of the bubbles. When the alcohol dries (takes about 10-15 mins) it will adhere perfectly and there will be no residue, bubbles or dust under the protector.
I've got an IQshield on my OP6 http://www.iqshield.com/iq32368-oneplus-6-phone-screen-protector.html
I tried a few TG ones and wasn't happy with any. They either didn't stick properly or had the annoying black border. The IQshield is the best protector I've tried.
The best screen protector is the soft nano TPU protectors they sell at ebay or aliexpress for a buck a piece and these cover the whole screen and can be applied wet with some soap and water.

I know why you are asking ...Most protectors don't cover the edges well. But this does .
I got this one:
OnePlus 6 Screen Protector, IQ Shield LiQuidSkin Full Coverage Screen Protector for OnePlus 6 HD Clear Anti-Bubble Film
From Amazon.
Accidentally dropped it on a concrete slab that had small gravel and dirt all over it about a week ago. Right out of my pocket. I do have one of those Tudia cases on it with a lip, HOWEVER some of that gravel did hit the glass. Tore up the screen protector in a couple spots. They kind of look like pin pricks but no discernible cracks or knicks in the glass what so ever, and the other scratches to the screen protector went away after rubbing with my fingers.
Talk about a freak out moment.

How is the texture and clarity of the IQ? I got a Skinomi (with has a similar product description) and personally I was not happy with the stretchy texture and less-then-smooth feel when swiping. Also, it seemed to like clarity and almost had small "webs" when looking at it at certain angles. (not bubbles)

Hey guys I'm planning to buy the Nilkin 3D CP+ screen protector for my OnePlus 6 and I am hoping those of you who are already using it will share your experience with me.
My first concern is regarding the black borders on the sides, how much screen area do they eat up? Also does the border on the notch, make it look thicker?
The official TG glass from OnePlus is really overpriced in my country, so I'm really hoping the Nilkin one can be the next best alternative. Tia.
The main problem for me of the nillkin was that the glass is very thin. It broke when I was trying to separate a little bit from the screen to adjust it better.
It fits properly and yes, it takes a little bit of the screen with the borders, but not as much as other screen protectors.
In my opinion, and it's based on my experience, the most balanced is the orzly. It's the most similar to the Oneplus official one of those that I've tried.
I've had this one but it broke on the sides. The edges float above the glass because the adhesive only covers the screen. Because the glass is thin these edges beak quite easily. I currently have the normal tempered glass H (not the h+) this glas doesn't cover the edges, but there are no black borders that cover any part of the display. I've had I'd on for about 3 months know and I'm really pleased with it. No bubble's no cracks and quite good oleophobic coating. Also because this one is thicker than the h+ pro it doesn't break as easily. I have it alligned perfectly, maybe it makes a difference.
I have one of these that I bought through amazon through a Nillkin page. the black boarder definitely covers a bit of the screen. a bit of the notch boarder covers the screen. If you move it up so that there's no black from the notch border you'll cut off quite a few pixels off the bottom making it very hard to use gesture based controls. I had a problem with air bubbles, the ones near the top corners went away naturally, the 2 at the bottom 2 corners refuse to go away even after adjusting them and applying pressure for over 5 minutes. It's not a problem with the case as there's a very slim edge separating the glass from the case (Tudia 2 part case). Depending on how much you're spending on it I wouldn't recommend it, I paid $16CAD and I have buyers remorse I can't recommend this protector to anyone. There's no damage/cracks/halo effects after 2 weeks of usages, so that's a plus. I've ordered the dbrand prism screen protector, I'm hoping it'll be the same size minus the black borders.
The best one is Omron tempered glass. They came in a set of two. Nillkin hides some of the screen. Omron doesn't.
Thank you all for your response I won't buy the Nilkin glass since it breaks so easily. It's a shame OnePlus 6 has such a huge incompatibility with budget 5D/6D tempered glasses. Spending 18 quid on the official doesn't make any sense cause it too will break after a fall which can happen anytime.

Nillkin CP+Max Tempered Glass Review
Consider this my review of the Nillkin CP+Max Oneplus 6 Tempered Glass
Bought from Nillkin's Aliexpress official store.
Overall I am satisfied(I knew pretty much all of the problems listed below when i bought it).
Keep in mind when viewing the photos I have installed the glass as much to the top as the case lets me(Practically the glass and the case touch at the top.Maybe if I had another case I wouldn't have even more of the notch cutting in, but that is another story)
Pros:
- Very nice quality glass with excellent touch feeling.Perfect oleophobic coating compared to 1-3$ tempered glasses. Worth the extra dollars for this reason only!
- Fits with rhinoshield crashguard case(you have to install the glass while wearing the crashguard case and not the one oneplus provides!)
- Edge to edge cover(as much as it can be, as the sides of the phone have a small curve)
Cons:
- The black borders around the edge are too thick on every side. This results to having about 0.5 to 1mm of screen pixels covered at all times, which is especially visible in the notch area, which cuts even more inside the screen. Also visible on the bootloader screen where text starts from the very left of the screen and half the first letter is hidden. While in normal app use you never see text that far to the side to make it a huge problem,it some times shows in 21:9 videos on youtube fullscreen. It seems this is a problem every tempered glass with black borders has. Not only Nillkin's!
- A portion around the edges, beneath the black border doesn't have adhesive. (I think this is because the phone's glass starts to curve there making it impossible for adhesive to stick,so they don't put adhesive right there)
Maybe Nillkin should make the borders thinner in the future and also have them in a lower layer of the glass,so it doesn't look like a window.
