Hi it's being factory reset . Any way beside the one you mention

Can't think of anything if it has been factory reset and the SIM removed
Was FRP Lock not enabled?
If it was, and they don't know much about the S7, they might be locked out of the phone too
Your carrier should be able to block the phone from the network using the IMEI so it is useless as a phone to them even if they do get back in

EVDO HTC hero sprint

Hello .. I have my HTC hero back on sprint. but no EVDO or DATA connectiuon at all.. I went to the corporate store and of course the MSL code did not work.. so i told the guy well use 000000 and the guy said .. so u messed with the phone...and i had to say yes...therefore they are not messing with it at all...even when i putted the right MSL.. L*( so. what can I do to get my EVDO DATA back?
I can make calls etc...
my other question is...
if you flash your phone..with STOCK(RADIO,STOCK APPS) and you changed the MSL before...will the STOCK flash do all that it suppose to do?
I had the same sort of thing happen to me when I was trying to pass a rooted Pre to a friend. Using the RUU might sort it out, if it doesn't call customer care and ask them to send out the hands-free provisioning signal again. That will put the right info on your phone. Most of all, don't panic All will be well once again.
That's a problem..the hands free activation starts working when you turn oin the phone but it does not complete it gives an error 1012

that's probably due to the MSL not matching the one on file. have you tried rewriting the correct MSL code to the phone? the handsfree activation and profile update should work after that.
Yes I did that...They gave me the MSL...and It does matches the one on file...I am going to try using the RUU again ..
fix
Take the phone back to the store all they have to do is reprovision the phone. If the won't work on the.phone factory reset the phone. I work for Sprint and either will work.
But I am thinking that Update Profile...and Hands Free activation need a EV or 3g whatever connection...right? I don't have it there is no ICON
Just to make sure.. I am running the RUU properly...I have to go to the bootloader( 3 android skaters) and select Fastboot right?
3 things I can think of that worked for me the other day, you will need your MSL and do a ##RTN# (##786#) hit menu then reset. It will ask for MSL but it will also delete everything. should work as long as you have 1.5 based off the 1.29 or 1.56.. Or you can try ##DATA# (##3282#) and reset the data profile. If that does not work call sprint or go into your local store and have them reset your Vision username. 1 of those 3 things should get you where you need to be. If they do not work it is more than likely hardware related.
Just wanted to note as I am still an active employee for sprint as well, a data provision will not work, they will only be able to go these routes in this case, so def. back up any information you may want to keep if you have not already.
ok thanks for all the replies...I just came from a Sprint store, and they guy said that my DATA was not provision properly and I have to wait 1 hour take out the battery ... and turn the phone on again..that should do it...if it does not I ll call Sprint and have them reset my Vision Password ... Thankss!
Ok I think I know what's the problem...First I don't have a recovery thing....HOME+POWER ON brings me to a Exclamation ICON I guess there is where my info should be ... and because the phone was rooted before that image is gone...so the ##3282# USERNAME menu is empty...where can I get that info? that suppose to be there? IP, etc
Your data information will populate automatically once provisioning completes, Id try calling tech support having them reset your vision user name not password then preforming a RTN or doing the RUU prior which should reset everything to what it needs to be prior to root.

FIX
It is not the username and password. It is the fact that the phone is not recognizing there is a network available i have seen this issue a bunch of times. you are going to have to do a hard reset (not a ##786#)or you can take it back to the store and have them provision the phone through icss.
I have done Hard Resets more than 5 times. now ... So i am getting a new phone, and that's it .. I'm tired of goind around with my phone..having i consirderation that my phone was in Metropcs and then to Sprint , maybe that screwed something, ahd the guys over in the corporate store don't want to work on it.
if you were in my area i would help!!

Hard resets will do nothing... Run the RUU... Your MSL has no ties to your provisioning.. So I don't know why that keeps coming up.. I'm not sure how Metro does things, but to take that ESN to another carrier usually needs a radio flash and if they had done that, you will not be able to use it unless you reflash the sprint RUU...
You cannot exchange a phone that you have maliciously changed... It has nothing to do with the phone, its the user....

Hey, he bought the phone. There is nothing 'malicious' about him modifying or customizing 'his' phone. The only thing malicious here is your attitude. Well, that and the phone company Nazis warping the brilliant idea that Google had when the Android was first conceived. It wasn't supposed to be about control, or about 'nickle and dime-ing' their customers to death reselling features that are already built into the OS.

[Q] Stolen Mate 7 :/

Hello people, as I mention in the title my Ascend Mate 7 was stolen from me 2 days ago. I was travelling in Argentina and two "motochorros" (scumbags on a bike) took it from my hand while I was making a call.. ****ty country
Anyways, my question is this, I had configured 2 of my fingerprints and a code to access the phone, is it possible for this people to reset the phone or something so they can resell it?
I have deleted my Google account remotely but wasn't able to locate it with GPS, I guess they haven't connected to the internet. Appreciate your help!
Oh yes it's easy.
Just a root, and a custom recovery is enough to make a wipe data/factory reset...
You just have to know it a little...
You should of pushed a gps app like lookout security to your device to track it. Now that you removed google account you have no access to it.

It`s no use, they turned it off as soon as they stole it, I asume they also removed the SIM, gps was off at the moment and they didnt connect the phone to the internet. I know because I removed the Google account 4 days after they stole it and the last connection and gps location was when they stole it. So as Pyestolero said I figure they found a way to reset the phone and erase my security options, wich I personally think shouldnt work like that, otherwise theres little to no protection for stolen unlocked smartphones..
Unlocked bootloader is made with phone in fastboot mode. To boot in fastboot mode no need access to the phone. Just hold volume key and power... It erase the phone also.
You need an app like cerberus. It's hidden from the application list, you can lock your phone track it with gps (and activate it), erase your data, take a picture, or listen with the mic, you can block power key, put on an alarm with lound sound and so more....
Only 5€ for 5 phones.

Good app, but again for what I read in their website it only works if they connect it to the internet before doing the hard reset, which I highly doubt they`ll do (they didnt connected it in 4 days and if I were the robber I would do it eiher) I guess this leaves us with no way to make the phone unusable for these people against a hard reset.. Huawei and every company should have a way to prevent this.
You can block the phone by imei number through the service provider and also locate it.

Samsung knox security
No body can reactivate the phone
But Samsung phones suck at the moment
I wish Huawei had same like security system
Because not even devolopers can break it

Samsung S7 Bypass lock screen + no USB debugging enabled/no ROOT + no SAMSUNG account

Hello,
I'm having an issue with the lockscreen. I've been entering my PIN like I always do, but this time it said its incorrect. Not each time I enter my pin it ups the time waiting to 60minutes. I tried to reset using google android device manager, but that doesn't work too.
I'm at a stand still as to how I can access my phone again. I have ADB installed, but this requires my phone to have USB debugging enabled(which it doesn't).
Any ideas how I can get back in to my phone or at least do a backup of my photos? I don't want to wipe data.
Thanks a bunch guys,
Michael
Do a hard reset in recovery you will lose all your data but then you can access your phone again.

Help! S7 Now Asking for Startup Password

Hi All,
Apologies for in advance for what may be a long post but I want to give as much information as possible in case anyone might be able to help.
So about 3 years ago I purchased a Samsung S7 (GM-G930f) from a phone shop. The device was rooted. This hadn't really caused any issues until today. The phone was overheating and losing it's charge very quickly. I downloaded Malwarebytes & AVG separately and did a scan with both.
One of them suggested turning off developer mode and a setting in it due to a security issue. (An OEM setting I think)
So I turned this off. A short while later the battery died. When I went to charge and turn the phone back on I got a message saying 'Custom binary locked by FAP Lock'.
After a bit of researching it seemed I had to reflash the firmware to the device. I got the most recent version from Sammobile and installed it using Odin. I used the "Home CSC" file in an effort to retain the data on the phone.
So that all seemed to work but the phone is now asking for a password- "Your phone is encrypted for security. To start up your device enter your password"
We have no clue what this password is- have tried the google account password and the samsung account password but no luck. I also logged on to the Find My Phone section on Samsung which was suggested on a couple of websites, however the device needs to be connected to a network before this service is of any use.
Is there any way at all I can retrieve the data from the phone without having to perform a factory reset? I am by no means a developer but am tech savvy and can follow clear instructions. There are recent photographs of immense sentimental value on the phone.
Also I am not some thief trying to hack into a phone. It is my partners phone and she has had it for 3 years.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

Type (default_password) without brackets obviously, if it doesn't work root the phone with Odin and see if it's starts normally.
Also do you know if you changed photo storage to sd card? If so you can remove it and see what's pics are stored there under folder DCIM. A firmware restore does nothing to the sd card.

hey- thanks for getting back to me. Yeah I've checked the sd card already- unfortunately it was saving to the phone it seems! Just tried that password and no luck.
Will rooting the phone with Odin wipe the data? I'll have to look up how to do it so I don't mess it up!
Thanks again

No rooting won't wipe. Use cf auto root

setup problems with Samsung A71

Hello all,
i have a strange Problem with my A71 which i use as a work phone. We got the order to migrate some internal stuff which makes it necessary to reset the mobile phone. in the description i think they missed one important point, delete / unenroll the google account first and then make a reset...but i'm not sure.
Because now after i done the reset it's not possible to get to the screen where it is possible to enter the google credentials. Means the telephone starts, i enter the PIN from the SIM, accept the User terms and conditions, log into my W-LAN, the phone search for updates, ask me if i might be restore data from an old phone. After that a quick screen pops up with the note "Checking" and then i see the error
Log in not possible
There was a problem communicating with the Google servers, please try again later.
In addition. When i try to connect with the normal mobile network, it says thats not possible to connect with the internet
What we have here?
is it the FRP or any other "the phone is locked" thing? and how i can resolve this problem?
Because the SIM is working fine...tested with another phone. And the W-LAN is working as well.
Thanks in advance
Greetings

Hmm... If it's the device of your company, they should help you.
If it's your private device, then try to do the factory reset again in recovery mode. Hopefully it helps.

go download the fosctory FW from sammobile.com/firmware and use samfirm to actually download it (its literally 4x faster than directly from the site) and flash it with the CSC instead of the HOME_CSC. Once you do that, itll think its a brand new phone and itll truly factory reset it which recovery factory reset doesnt do really. If you were wanting to keep your data on the device, youd use HOME_CSC. Thats the only difference between the two, but its a BIG difference and ive seen people use the wrong one multiple times LOL myself included LOLOLOL
