Hi All,
I would like to know if there's a way to add data usage shortcut in the drop down screen (not sure whats the name of menu that comes when scrolling down from status bar). One of my friend have note 7 from Verizon and it has data usage shortcut but sprint doesn't. Pls let me know if there's a way to achieve this.
Thanks,
Prince
I'm not sure about other carriers but Sprint is missing. You can use Nova. They have the next best thing

I just use the Data Usage Manager panel in the Edge Screen settings.

Thanks xbmoyx but its again a shortcut that redirects to data usage settings. Am looking for a data usage toggle from notification center. I feel its unavailable only in sprint.

I remember as that for apple arrangements, in the status a bar established an icon of the operator at what it was put automatically depending on the operator. At those at whom was iPhone, will understand me. All this certainly were modifications.
Can any possibility to make too most for our arrangements? Maybe even any program which will be displayed in notices.
It defines the operator automatically
Here an example of the Russian operators:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I guess it's a decent idea, but it seems like useless notification bar clutter IMO...not like people forget who their carrier is.
On iphone this badge was looked is very cool

Isn't the operator already displayed in the notification area? Or did you mean something else?

Hello guys!
The Screen On application was a success and we thought it could be a great idea to expand the abilities of this application. We developed a new application called App Auto Settings, that works exactly as the Screen On application but let's you take control not only of the screen, but of WiFi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, GPS and volume!
We have tested the app in as many devices as we could and it works fine, but please try it and report any bugs, suggestions or ideas, we cannot test it in all those mobile phones...

Thx for share.
Not seeing option for GPS on SGSII.

Edit: 20/11/2011
So is this a beta limitation? or a limitation of GB where programs can not call for GPS on without user request like Tasker?
well, that's my bad...
at first, we wanted to take control of the GPS, but unfortunately for security reasons (good in my opinion), Google decided that only the user will be able to enable and disable the GPS, so we removed it from the application.
The screenshot though is old, and I will replace it!
Thank you for noticing it!
OK, I'm confused. No offense, but it is not very intuitive. I just downloaded it, and I cannot tell the difference between Red and Green on the Screen Timeout in the On Charge profile, and either way I set it, the screen timed out! Also, on WiFi and such, what's the difference between Red, Green and the white box? I also don't see my Navigation app.
good app

Thanks man !
Thanks OP for bringing this up
My Data Manager
Can anyone tell me if we can change the top icons: Wifi, bluetooth, GPS, Silent mode, auto rotation.
The aTT model has Airplane mode up there and I want that instead of Silent mode.
Thanks
thanks, great app !
I'm using Onavo which is also excellent for data monitoring...

I think one needs root for the above add-on, correct?
Yep. Widgetsoid can also be used, doesn't require Root (although it'll add a second row to do it, which may or may not be welcome news).
Is there a widget that is a little like control bar but also lets u turn on and off the data because i tried power widget and switchpro and it didnt work they dont turn on the data so thanks in advance and please put the name of it to.
Go into the market and download Data Enabler. Its the only one that i have found that works without messing up the apn.

I haven't run into an app that actually enables data on demand in Gingerbread...Google purposely removed that functionality to prevent abuse, although heaven knows I've never seen a developer abuse it.
I believe both Juice Defender and Tasker can directly control data usage, except one is automated and the other is complex and costs money.

Yup, Data Enabler Widget app on the market works on the A2.. I put it on my wife's rooted stock 2.3.6. Or you could always upgrade to the Supercharged V5 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441397).. data toggle comes complimentary in the pulldown ( i believe proper thanks goes to CapnPez for those - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459230)..

Switch between tasks with style and speed. Have you ever used the quick control feature of the Android browser and wished that you could use the same for switching between apps? Now you can with TaskUI.
Swipe your finger from an edge of the screen to activate TaskUI overlay. From the overlay you can switch between apps, end apps, and launch pinned apps. Task switching and more is right at your fingertips.

Dude! Hell yes please !
Looks exactly like Taskarou Launcher to me.
Test: it's actually pretty good, pretty small on tablets and the icons are too big but otherwise really nice.
Didn't know about taskerou. google really had an awesome idea with browser quick controls.
I can definitely add an option for size
