KDZ consultation for LG H960AR - LG V10 General

Hi guys, I want to upgrade my V10, I'm from Argentina, and I'm not sure which KDZ corresponds to my model. In the hardware information it says that the model is H960AR, but google play says my model is H960. Apologies to open a new thread but could not comment on the already open threads. From already thank you very much, I hope your help.

Go to -> Settings -> About phone -> Common -> Model number. That should indicate which software flavor you need. H960 is a general indicator of the family of devices, most have a fair bit of similarity in hardware between them. I recall seeing kernel source for the H960AR on LG's open source area, so sounds like you do in fact need to find software for the H960AR.
The bad news no one has been finding the Argentina KDZ files and providing links so you're out of luck there. You can get LGUP and that should be able to find the latest version of the software for the H960AR. Ideally, if you find where the KDZ comes from, please mention it on the KDZ thread so others in your situation will be able to learn from what you've done (or if a later update turns out to be really crappy, everyone will be able to go back to the earlier update).

Thanks for your answer, I commented that before had a LG G4 and I was the same ... The model was H815AR and I could update with firmware H815. That's why I need to get that doubt to update with H960.

Hi,
I see here this tread may be closed, but i did not want to start a similart thread..
(after watching xda noob yotube video )
So i have solved this problem above.
I have an Lg optimus 3d p920 europe open model (from uk, simfree).
When i was trying to update with lg update i get the message "Model not supporting S/W update". I contacted LG support, they said i have to wait until Dec 5 to get the update for the europe open models.
Therefore i decided not to wait more 2 weeks, but did not want to start create a service usb cable...
The solution is the KDZ method. You need to have the KDZ firmware (link can be found here in xda-developers), and the kdz tool to flash it.
It was really easy to do it.
let me find the tutorial....
Here is the method (but please do NOT download V10x firmware, because its old... you will need V21A kdz firmware..)
V21A can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155874
Hope i helped those people who wanted to wait for the official, but did not get it, because they bought the phone when released asap... this was the punishment from LG...

Rogers P925g finally getting GB

http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/01/30/rogers-lg-optimus-3d-receiving-android-os-2-3-5-upgrade-february-1st-heres-the-full-change-log/
According to this article, we're finally getting a Gingerbread update on Feb 1. I'm hoping that this fixes the data problems I've been having with the European GB versions, and maybe even fix the ghost call issue. I hope it can be rooted soon too.
Better late than never I suppose.
Here's a link to the V20C kdz file for those having trouble downloading it from LG.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14826760/V20C_00.kdz
Nice to hear that. I just acquired one today.
So only 2 days of waiting!
Kevindee can you try this method to see if you can get a kdz file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
I tried it and it still gives me the original V10C from July, but I'm not entirely sure if I did it correctly.
lucky canadians
asians(including koreans so understand the irony) still dont have GB
Now how do i return to stock rogers from 21b?
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
Please upload the kdz once it is out!

Well I suppose you can flash the stock V10C kdz file to return to stock. I'm not quite sure, but I think you should be able to just flash the new GB coming out without any problems.
joax11: I'm probably going to hold off on updating to GB right away until it can be rooted. I'm sure someone else on Rogers can upload the kdz file though.
Nice. But I have moved on. I am now P920
It's Feb 1 now.
Just checked, still no update.
Can anybody upload the update kdz?
yeah I just checked my LG update utility too under "Supporting Model" and it still says V10c for Rogers P925g.... common LG... don't make us wait on the day we've been waiting for!
I noticed a version of V20c on the screenshot of the phone in the original article posted. I'm sure that we won't have that rooted anytime soon, especially since 21b can't be rooted!
I just chatted with a support rep for LG Canada and here is what they said: "Unfortunately we have not been advised that the update is going to be released today. Where did you hear see this information?" I replied with the link and they they said: "The only information that we have been provided at the moment was that your model will be getting ice cream sandwich in the second or third quarter of this year." I then pushed it further and he said: "I was just advised that it will be soon. No time frame was given. Sorry.
ICS will be second or third quarter of this year."
When I contacted LG today they told me that they are not informed about any updates, and advised me to contact my network provider.

hmm apparently there are all kinds of blogs copying mobileSyrups original post and modifying the information slightly.. its all over the web. No concrete proof though of course.
My LG tool still says v10c directly from their servers and I'm in Canada on Rogers carrier.

probably just vaporware I am still running the brazil v20a rom.
It looks like they have got the 20C ready but just not allowing download yet.
If you try http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP925G/ARGSDB/V20c_00/V20C_00.kdz
You will get :
Forbidden
Your client is not allowed to access the requested object.
While if you change the 20c to 20b, you will get:
Not Found
The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it.
So this indicates indeed the file is there already.
Also, looks like 20A is there, too.
I hate LG keep us waiting for so long...........
So has anyone got it yet? Because I accidently installed v21a (don't ask) and I love the 2.3.5 but the lack of 4G/Hspa is hindering me but in my current area even on 2.2 the 4G in my area only does maybe 140kbps if I'm lucky rogers hasn't updated the pipe line. I also don't want to risk going back to 2.2 because I love v21a its so fast and 100% better
Hi chinabull.
I'm using your link and its working fine. 418Mb!
let me download the whole kdz image.
Hey guys,any news?

Optimus 3D Will Not Update

Hi,
I recently purchased a new LG Optimus 3D which has no network branding or boot logos. It is running Android 2.2.2 with V10k firmware which I believe is "Europe Open". However, when I connect my phone to the computer to update I am told there is no updates available?
I feel a little bit upset as I thought this was a good phone with the opportunity to upgrade to a newer version of Android but it seems that the phone can't.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you.

You can download firmware from here:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=2
then flash it using kdz tool in development section.
Thanks for your reply!
I did read a guide and I followed it the best I could but the software just crashed when I tried. Then I found another LG tool which looked easier and this said the KDZ file was incorrect. Please could you help me to flash the device to Android 2.3.5? I'd really appreciate that!

Guess you probably managed to upgrade it but here it is step by step..
Before we start i suppose you know about the ghost calls issue that OPTIMUS 3D gingerbread based roms have and you are sure you want to upgrade iy..
Step 1
download
V21a from here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP920/AESOML/v21d_00/V21D_00.kdz
or
V21d from here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP920/AESOML/v21d_00/V21D_00.kdz
Step 2
download this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=887870&d=1328537753
Step 3
make sure you have installed your lg phone drivers before continuing to the next step
Step 4
unzip LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.zip
you will find a filename Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs
run it
if everything runs ok it will take you to the upgrade tool if not it will probably show you a windows script host error
if that happens try running it manualy from folder
LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN
KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
as soon as KDZ_FW_UPD.exe select Type: 3qct and PhoneMode: Emergency
select your downloaded kdz file connect your phone and press
Launch software update
It will take some time to decompress the files but if everything is ok it will start.
You will see the progress with various messages the last message ends with 0
That should do the job..
2 b honest, i think u should keep staying in froyo, until lg solved the ghostcall issue. i updated to gingerbread weeks ago, and messed up by the ghost calls.
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
Thank you for your replies!
I am starting to consider staying with Froyo as I do not want to miss calls or SMS. Particularly the SMS. That would be a very big problem for me to miss a SMS!
I am wondering as this is a Meteor handset and they haven't even released Android 2.3. If LG releases Android 4 for this phone, would I be able to flash it with a Europe Open KDZ just like I would for Android 2.3? Unless of course they officially release the update but I think that is unlikely considering they haven't released 2.3!
Is the ghost calls and sms a big problem with this phone and the Android 2.3 update?!
Cheers!
2.3 gingerbread is really a nice firmware, u can use the 3d button as the camera shutter button during the camera mod.
there is some new playlist in the music player for you to sort all the songs.
theres a 2d to 3d tool,u can use it to turn the softwares or games into 3d, but not every app works.(froyo can install this tool too, but i havent try it yet)
also 2.3.5 with a longer battery life.
not everything become better, u will get some laggs everyday, which wont happen in froyo for weeks without reboot.
then the ghost calls issue! this issue just can not acceptable! u dont know when or where it will happen. and while it happen, it ruin ur reputation. your boss, your friends and family ,they all considered u ignored their calls on purpose. ≥﹏≤
and the credit card company can not notify u every debit event via the message. it might cost u if someone created ur copy card ,or picked it.
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
I really want to go for the Android 2.3 update for this phone by flashing the rom but I am nervous about the ghost call issue.
Is there anything I can do to see if I would be affected? Anything to do with the network or something? Sorry for my misunderstanding, I just am curious if theres a way around the matter.
Chances are you will be affected.. maybe you will not notice it but it will happen.
Reagarding ICS i guess LG is not gonna give it soon.
Froyo is ok BUT its too old.
There are also plenty of ROMS over here in XDA that you can try.
I am currently using:
Rom:ThiaizO3D 2.6.1 Prada Gingerbread + Real3D ICS look
Cpu:Overclocked 1.22 (Antutu Benchmark Score 6228)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3ee...DvjVQa1PpcFNhr2pTgwIdtRMI2jRQla0DEXDWXrsqDrY=
I do not think the update, I would point to the custom rom. Because the LG seems to have no intentions of taking this team rom
I am going to email LG now!

Need help with a Z3 that was bought in China

@admins: I am not entirely sure whether this is the correct place to ask for help with my problem, so feel free to move it to another forum if necessary. Thx!
Hello Experts!
Since I have no experience with modifying software on a smart phone and couldn't find any helpful information on the matter anywhere, I hope to get some advise and help from you guys here.
So here is my problem: I bought a Z3 in China (the place where I live and work) about a year ago and it came with a whole bunch of crap (pre-installed applications and some restrictions) that I would like to get rid of, while I am on holiday with unrestricted access to the internet. My main problem is that there seem to be some kind of restriction in place when it comes to installing/using certain applications, such as Google Play and most apps that you need to pay for and I would like to get rid of those restrictions. I found an older thread about some Asus Tablet where the author said that many devices bought in China have a "china-specific" firmware version installed that causes these limitations and I am wondering whether it is possible to install the "international" firmware version on my phone instead? And if yes, how to get this done. I am a total noob, but I can follow instructions, so please let me know what kind of additional information you need from me and I'll post them asap.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Check the guide and flashtool link in the OP. It should be all you need. Good luck!
Make sure you also download the correct firmware by the way, so check your phone's model number

Thanks a lot for the info! But my phone's model number says "L50u" and I am not certain which firmware I am supposed to use. Does anyone have experience with using a different firmware? Does anyone know whether I might lose LTE-bands if I install a different firmware?
L50u appears to be Xperia Z2

Hi there, Can anyone brief me more about LG H900 unlocked?

Hi there, Can anyone brief me more about LG H900 unlocked? I have a thought of buying that but not really sure if it can work in my country in all aspect. I am most worry about the original firmware bcoz my last purchased from other country was bad, I can't use the google apps especially playstore at all, only gmail but also cannot sync. Can anyone help me please? tq ???
Currently, the lg v10 h900 is locked with Android 6.0
The only way to unlock it (kinda), is to get one with 5.0 or 5.1. There is currently no way to root or even downgrade or flash a v10 h900 thats running 6.0. But its is a very fast phone and very durable with its military grade design and materials (but not indestructible!). Any other questions?
Thank you. Im jz afraid that some apps might cannot work in my country if i bought the international version. Thats the actual worry.

If you get the international version, you may not have unlock problems, and if you can get root, your country wont be a problem. Get a modded playstore, or change your phones country. People have been doing that for a while now when their country would block certain content.
Aaight roger that. Thank you so much
