[Completed] Harassment - XDA Assist

I've inherited an android device from my dad.
It has been given to me as it was, unchanged, and with his XDA app and account still on it.
I'm getting messages from someone who obviously dislikes my dad.
I've explained in the CM13 forum that my dad has now left XDA and I've been gifted his phone.
I'm only 16 and this is my first android.
I'm not sure how to remove my dads XDA account off the phone but this person won't leave me alone and keeps messaging me saying I'm really my dad but telling everyone I'm one of his children.
Can someone please advise me on how to stop these messages, they are really nasty with bad swear words and nasty names and have upset me, and I've told my dad but it seems the reason he left XDA was over these messages.
Please help, this is bordering on harassment now.
This is the message I got.
From shawnsdada
OK that's why you decided to drag the drama into the forum then? You really his son or is daddy acting like his son now? Either way it's ****ing pathetic lmao. If you are his son then your dad is the most immature ****ing 44 year old father of 3 I've ever ****ing heard of and that's the truth.Go view his posts and see that I'm not the only one who has brought up his drama and victim games. He just didn't like how blunt I was about it and apparently can't take it like a ****ing man.
You don't think it's weird that e comes in to announce that he's calling it a day on this forum and the reasons why are personal and he won't et into it. Then goes right into saying why RIGHT AFTER saying he wasn't going to mention it. Then feels the need to mention his age and how many kids he has and that he has heart issues? What the **** does that have to do with anything other than trying to et sympathy? That's a sad excuse for a man in all honesty.
He can take that people ale him out on being very immature. Plain and ****ing simple. He heard he truth bounty and can't deal with it and that's just ****ing sad

Samsung do you not pay attention

If samsung were smart they would not have hyped up a issues thread and they would have payer attention to all of the questions they've been hit by on twitter and come with a statement. Is that really that hard or did they just wanna poll how many angry users they still have.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I'm curious how hard the XDA staff was laughing as SamsungJohn contacted them to make the huge announcement.
I bet Samsungjohn called frantic to have XDA shutdown the thread because it was going down in flames.
What's really amusing is when you look at what has happened over the past 3 days or so. Man, they REALLY did stir up an absolute frenzy. Hundreds and hundreds of posts in multiple threads and it accomplished absolutely nothing but re-igniting a lot of burning anger that had simmered down quite a bit since 2010. I visualize it as poking a stick into a fire ant hill then watching the ticked of buggers go nuts. Such a shame.
I think it had a lot more to do with the aggressive and adversarial way people asked non-questions, like trying to get people on twitter and fb to trash the whole process. If people treat someone like crap, when they come here to try and solve problems, what is the motivation to help us?
Mob mentality won't solve anything folks. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
I have no clue what they were thinking. I was ok, now I am irate
Ok guys we are not gonna start a flam fest over this. Thread closed

Android is cattching up on iOS but because of SIRI it's 5yrs behind again?

5yrs behind again? When can Android finally overthrone iOS?
Now Google and Microsoft are jealous.

This post is a joke right?
He's baiting the trolls. He just wants to see a flame war.

I would say it is, yes. But it also shows something else: The power of Apple marketing. Siri used to be an app in the store, and nothing. Then Apple buys the company, touts Siri as some "revolutionary" thing they created, and look at what's happening - suddenly Siri is the best thing since sliced bread and all other vendors should fear it. Yeah right. If you ask me, Siri is a fad that will quickly blow over. Even with Apple's marketing.
Joke, may be you haven't seen the power of SIRI, it is just I always see my sister talking to her phone and she said it is very useful especially when sending email, he will just say "send mike an email, Can you put up the dialyzer so I can start to dialyze when I got there tomorrow" she does not need to go in the mail app, look for the email addresss, click on the message box and type the message, same as text, I think it is not that useful, but now that I saw my sister doing that, I think I might sell my Infuse 4g and try the 4s, come on I did not post this to hurt your egos which now obviously hurt because you bought an Android device, I too bought Infuse 4g but I am open on any device that will benefit me.
The difference between me and some guys here, I am open minded on what will benefit me, and some guys defend Android like it is their company and want to beat Apple, Rim, and Window phone 7. And they don't want to let people speak that they made a mistake buying Android or they just love their android.

totally agree with this post. Until google puts more thought into the UX it will be behind imo. It has all the features but they're so haphazardly tossed together that using it is a chore.
As much as it is kinda cool in the right situations I see this being just another reason to own a cell signal jamming box. People are already rude enough to make a call while in speaker phone.
Text from my friend,
"If you dont my floorspace I think there's a lot of room in my room as I got a big corner suite so gay just to buy the best thing to me the room only has one bed and is also one clean so club club at so"
"Damn Siri"
Android is FAR AHEAD OF Apple.

You should upload a screenshot of that!
Yes I know when I used the mic button on my Android Infuse 4g it ends up like that, it will never understand how you speak, unlike SIRI you can even correct the word you say even you say it the wrong way just correct it, the next time you say it on your accent it will understand it, or may be that is how your friend speak, tell him to take english class online, it is cheaper online.
Have to admit... It is quite accurate..
I used it at a busy apple store, and it still heard me!

I sure hope SIRI isn't submitting your posts, because if that's the case it's completely worthless.
You do realize SIRI is just an app right? If you think an app can put apple 5 years ahead of android, none of your posts should be taken seriously. In my opinion, the SUPERUSER app puts android infinitely ahead of apple. Android has personal assistant apps, and I am quite sure the developers will be working hard on them now. Apple has nothing to the likes of Superuser and never will.

You just quote and quote, obviously you don't read, I don't have an iPhone 4s yet i have infuse 4g, i am on the edge, next time read every post completely so people will even have a chance to may be think, your reply make sense. And SIRI is not an app now, you can't buy it on appstore if you have an iPhone 4, you need more knowledge about tech, obviously you are outdated

HELP! Lost my Infuse!

Ok, so this is my problem. Today when I came back from school (High School) I found out my infuse wasn't in the backpack slot it should be. I remember seeing it in my backpack at school in my locker, but then on the bus, I couldn't seem to find it.
I'm pretty sure rather one of the students busted into my locker using a key (teachers have keys that can open any locker) which they used to open my locker, or that the person with the locker next to me has found out me combination and has told it to a lot of students.
I am very concerned that they will screw with my phone, but I have an android pattern security on, so I doubt that.
What should I do? Should I call the school and tell them that I think someone stole my phone and give them a list of people who I think stole it? Or try to interogate them myself?
Please help! I love my infuse.
P.S. I've checked AT&T's website and I couldn't find the Infuse. So I'm thinking of ending my contract or terminating it so they can't text any of my contacts.
First tell your parents...and you can have ATT suspend your line...and they can kill that sim card...unless you have insurance...your at a loss....idk
But you can bring it to the school attention...
If you don't see your phone on you're acct when you log in...they prob took your Sim out...
I've already called the school but they didn't answer. I'm going to tell the dean of the school when I get to school tomorrow. I've already told my mom and she said to tell the school. I'm just trying to consider my options. If I can't find it or my friend has it and has reset everything, then I think my mom will be nice enough to get me a new phone.
Yeah...I wouldn't interrogate the people them selfs...if you don't know who did it for sure you could be questioning the wrong person...and if you do that then they probably won't like you...
Plus people may think you don't trust anyone...and if you do question the right person...what's gonna get him/her to admit it?
How ever I would defently inform the school...and give then a list of people you suspect...you should always let the authorities know (in this case the school) ...there are some crazy people out there...

You could borrow someone else's phone and try dialing your number while you're in a group of fellow students. If you hear your ringtone, you know who has it.

This will work as long as they haven't switched the sim card or turned it off which I'm sure they've done by now...

Thank you all! I've found the culprit (Long story prank) so the person who stole my phone's best friend spilled the beans. I have the text on my mom's go-phone (Very small and simple) and I will hopefully be getting the [email protected] suspended until school ends or at least get him grounded. Thank you for the options and I have suspended my AT&T account until further notice. I don't think that they can access my phone considering I have a pattern lock on it. Thank you for the support!
Your right, the 11th graders in my school aren't the smartest. But I'm Asian (Not to be stereotype or racist) and so are most of my friends and we know how to unlock phones without software (Hardware), pick- locks, and even create our own roms (I don't know how, but my friend ***** has created an HTC Vivid rom). I know they can't access anything for sure, considering I have the pattern lock (Like I've mentioned before). I hope it's still in 1 piece and still has that big ass crack right through the middle :/

Idk what highschoolers you grew up with...but im a highschooler growing up in the golden age of technology...most highschool kids know the basics about phones...power off=stealth, no sim=no longer connected to original account/service provider...doesn't take much thinking to figure that out...and highschool is full of thieves...what have they got to lose? There under age so they suffer no legal consequences...only school consequences...sure highschooler do a lot of dumb things...but they are no stranger when it comes to basic tech skills...
Sooooo...that's why I never leave my phone in my back pack...its always in my pocket or in my hand....

I live about 5 miles north of a Juvy Detention Center. Looks like a prison to me. Double fenced with razor wire. Filled with the "under aged".

Lol...this will be my last reply on this subject as I don't wanna argue...but you won't end up in juvy for stealing a phone at school...unless you commit a serious crime like assault with a weapon or something along those lines, no matter what you do at school you will not end up in juvy...school takes responsibilities and deals with consequences...trust me I've seen tons of kids steal stuff and get caught...do they go to juvy no-if its a first time the just get suspended for a few days...second time expelled...authorities are never involved so they never go to juvy...
Now if they were to steal from somewhere that wasn't a school like a store or a random guy on the street then sure they have the chance of going to juvy...but if its done in school there's pretty much nothing to worry about as long as your not afraid of suspension...trust me on this...although I never did any of this I did used to hang around the wrong people who constantly stole stuff...so I've seen first hand what happens...and even when they steal from a store...they typically contact the school not the authorities...I actually know someone who stole an iPad right from the apple store...caught him on survelance and they just contacted the school not the authorities...so he got suspended for stealing a $600 product...
And then they go to court before getting sent to juvy...and most times they just get a big fine instead of going to juvy...
Even if they do go to juvy...they don't care as it doesn't stay on your record like jail does...once your a certain age (can't remember it...but I think it may be 20) all juvy records of you are no longer kept...
Most of the kids who steal actually kinda wanna get in trouble...they use it as rep, like they don't want to get caught but if they do then its just rep for them and their proud of it...
Anyways...like I said that would be my last reply...I don't wanna argue, and both our reply are not contributing to the ops problem that sounds like he has solved as he knows who has his phone...
Sooo...I hope everyone has a nice day

Lol it sure did get off topic in here.
Every school is different. I went to a bad school at the time. Authorities were always involved. A serious example, my friend stole the substitute teacher's laptop. He got suspended. Brought to the station for some reason. Fined. And had a court date. Taught him a lesson.

goodbye cruel world im leaving ATT and tired of being a 2nd rate supported customer

after 1800 in 2 mos for two phones and headaches im steppin out the door.
DONT belittle my post bud, i been through 3 devices in 2 months or less. i can rant to my hearts content.

And gee, maybe instead of crying about it and posting some half baked rant, you can maybe explain. I spent 2 months, 10 hours and 43 people just trying to get an order straightened out. They're customer service is deplorable. I was told straight out by a manager I wouldn't be compensated for the 9 hours I'd spent because, well, I needed to take care of the problem, so I had to deal with it for 9 hours. But posting some lame post like, boo hoo, I'm leaving. Ok, why?

thats another reason to leave carrier, responses like that pal.
YOU need to have someone help you with what issue you have because nothing to typed relates to topic, its just a unacceptable and unethical response. theres forums not in xda that can help you deal with why youre upset.does it feel good to belittle another the way you did. im sure others will see what im seeing as way off topic and way abusive. im sorry if you're angry in life enough to attempt to create chaos. why even reply in that manner, nothing is relevant to the issue. im glad i have a principled life with ethics and morality. TWICE YOU ABUSED ME HERE AND TARGETING ME for your entertainment. i ask anyone to see the replies given, and even my family sees it as beyond abusive

I want to monitor my kid samsung S6

Can anyone recommed me an android tracking app for samsung pls!
I was so worry about may daugher! Recently she’s been very disobedient towards me and my husband, she would yell back at us if something we said upset her; The other day I was able to spy on her phone. She has been texting with some strange people and seems they’ve met several times too! I and my husband are very worried, we’d tried talking some sense into her but it was pointless and often ended with her storming out. I worry that she might be hanging out with wrong types of people but there is no way for us to find out
So pls help me to protecting my kid.
Thanks so much
