Controller WiFi or router? - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Nvidia Shield controller works over WiFi does this mean I can only either be online connected to the router or use the controller but not both at the same time?
I ask for when I activate a hotspot I lose my WiFi connection to the router.

How can i connect my xbox 360 with wifi?--Tradingmic.com
OK so I have the new Xbox 360 with Wi-Fi connection and I want to buy a Wi-Fi router connector thing but I don't have a computer is there anyway to connect without a computer?
HELP!
Use your phone to tether internet? Not sure if USB tether works with Xbox, otherwise get a network wifi thing for it

i have a ps3 but it works the same way on an xbox. just get the new wireless tether from google and under infrastructure settings enable softap mode. if your phone only supports adhoc then you need to get a eithernet cable and run that from your computer to xbox and make sure internet sharing is on.

[Q] wifi hotspot

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone knows of an Android app that will allow me to share the lan connection on my tablet via wifi?
Have looked at lots of hotspot type apps but the vast majority are simple shortcuts to an exisiting wifi hotspot function that shares the mobile data connection.
Seems daft to me that I have lan and wifi on my tablet but I'm looking at an ap to connect my other devices!
Thanks
Jin
I didnt understand what u said
If u want to share ur tab net to other use wifi hotspot
If u have wifi connection u can connect via wifi

Are you trying to tether your data connection or do you mean using your tablet as a hub for an existing wifi connection?
What phone do you have?
What carrier?
Did you root your phone?
Have you flashed a new ROM?
Sorry but you were rather vague in your post.

Ok thanks. To clarify my tablet (not phone and therefore no carrier involved) has both ethernet and wifi I would like to use the ethernet to connect to my network/internet and then broadcast that connection via wifi.
This is exactly the same thing a normal wifi hotspot does except it broadcasts the mobile data connection as opposed to a wired connection.
The tablet has been flashed with Tims 6 ROM
Don't now if it's possible. On phone it;s not possible to share be a hotspot when you're on wifi. I guess it uses the same piece of hardware. That might also be the case for you with the LAN.
BTW try talking to this guy :

he had sort of the same question perhaps he figured it out?
edit: This is also you i now see.. never mind

How do you have your tablet connected to the internet, wireless or wired? If wired, how did you do that? If it's wireless, you're just using your tablet as a signal booster.
What i'm confused on is if you connected your tablet wireless and want to connect other devices to your tablet's "wifi" which in essence is wifi, why can't that device connect to the same internet as your tablet?
I think we're all a bit confused on what you're trying to accomplish.
Sorry folks struggling here with what you don't get (not being smart just confused)
I have an Android tablet that has both wifi and an ethernet connection, I connect to my network via ethernet and want to use that connection to then create a wifi hotspot for my other devices to connect to.
I already do this with my win7 laptop and am looking for an app to do the same on the tablet.
If my terminology is correct I need to bridge the lan connection to the wifi adapter?

[Q] Sharing internet from my Neo x5 to my Tv with ethernet

Hi!
I have a Sony Bravia Tv with no built in Wifi that I'd like to connect to the internet. The TV has an ethernet port.
I recently acquired a Neo X5 that has an ethernet port, and what I want to do is use this device, which is connected to my home wifi network, and share/tether/bridge it through the ethernet port to the TV.
Can this be done?
Thank you! and sorry for my english.

I think the easiest solution is to get a second wifi router which can act as a client bridge. Basically you connect both the X5 and the TV to this second router with cables and "bridge" the wifi interface with the main home wifi router. I have such a solution at home.
How I have set it up is:
- My main router is a D-Link DIR-825 running DD-WRT.
- My second (=bridge) router is also a DIR-825 running DD-WRT
- My PVR, BD Player, Receiver and Minix X7 are all connected via ethernet to the bridge router
- The 2,4GHz band on the main router is used by our laptops, phones, tablets, etc.
- The second router connects to the 5GHz wifi band of the main router. This band is reserved solely for media streaming.
Hope this helps.

[Q] WiFi Direct - Shield Controller

I see that our phones have WiFi direct. I believe the Shield Controller connects to things with WiFi direct. I don't have a Shield controller to test, but was curious if the Shield Controller could connect to the S6.

shield suddenly wont connect to wifi from router but connects to phone hotspot fine?

I have ac rc3200 router running merlin firmware and suddenly my shield portable will no longer connect I can post my router settings for wifi to if that will help.
