A while ago i bought a phone (Vernee Thor) but after a while, whenever i tried to call, i got the messege "cellular network not available". I tried some stuff, flashing new ROM resetting netwerk settings and the likes, but nothing.
Now i've bought a new phone (oukitel c3) and i get the same exact problem and this is really frustating. I also have another phone (Xiaomi redmi note 2) which i had before i bought the first one and i do not have the problems on that device. Looking on the internet i could also find nothing to help me, so i'm completely lost and bought 2 phones for nothing.
Whenever i call alarm number 112 (Dutch equivalent of 911) i do not get that message. So maybe there is something there.
I'm in the Netherlands and i have *Bliep as carrier, i contacted them but they don't see any problems on their end.
Is it perhaps possible that the ROM doesn't support the correct band? I downloaded the rom here: needrom.com/download/oukitel-c3/. I downloaded "ROM 2", if i flash the others the phone won't turn on.
Thanks in advance.
I think it is a IMEI problem...

Thank you so much for helping!
Do you mean you send it through PM?
I would also like to mention that i did not backup anything before flashing the new ROM, with multiple times formatting.
Yes i know this is really stupid but the phone didn't have enough space for backup, and because i've done this kind of thing before, i thought it wouldn't really matter. Lesson learned unfortunately...

Oh. My. God. it worked...... it actually worked...
I've been looking on the internet for days trying and following guides by making backups of ESL folder and transfer files back and forth, or watching YouTube in the hopes of something, but i couldn't find the ESL folder.
And here was the simple solution: Use a app to change your IMEI number, wow.
Thanks you very, very much!
EDIT: Also i think it is best if you don't post links where you can download apps beside play store because that is not allowed(?).
Thanks though!

Although i can make/receive phone calls, texting still doesn't work. Do you perhaps have another idee?
It may cause of IMEI .... Just clear flash stock rom
What exactly do you mean with "clear stock rom"? Because i can't find the stock rom, and i've already cleared dalvik cache + cache.
Anyone?

Hey everyone, new guy checking in. Just got flashing my first ROM on my i747. PIcked up the latest Deadly Venom, looks pretty good. So it looks like my phone is auto downloading my previous apps, not sure what triggered that, other than signing into my account? Now I know I can also restore my apps via Titanium, but how can I get my apps with the folders I had before?
Also is there a way to get my email account data restored rather than setting them all up again?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

As in getting my apps in the folders they were in before I flashed, instead of just all over the place, unorganized.

As if u create the new folders on same name as the previous 1s. they wil be gone .
U can try recovering them by apps like un delete. Bt I cant say about their status whether they would b corrupted or not. So its ur choice. I would say try it. Its worth a shot.

Installed CM 10.1 alpha-9 from DDLF2 a week ago. Phone worked perfect for few days. While trying to call a friend, the screen went unresponsive for a few seconds & the network was gone & never returned. The sim is working in another phone. While searching available networks 'error while searching for networks' shows.
Phone Status:
Network: Unknown
Signal Strength: 0 dBm 99 asu
Mobile network type : Unknown:0
Service state: out of service
Mobile Network state: Disconnected
My phone number: Unknown
IMEI: Unknown
IMEI SV: Unknown
IP address: Unavailable
I have no efs backup or anything. I just backed up the device while on DDLF2 from the CWM menu & copied the files onto my pc. The files are in a folder named backup>2013-09-14.18.42.26 (around 373MB).
Files are:
1. cache.rfs.tar
2. data.rfs.tar
3. datadata.rfs.tar
4. nandroid.md5
5. system.rfs.tar
I guess its the IMEI problem. Please help guys.
As far as I know, nandroid backup does not back up EFS. Your best bet would be to do a full reflash with stock ROM.
Unfortunately, "unknown" IMEI is most likely a busted EFS, but give it a try, still. Lurk around the SD card, many roms create EFS backups, maybe you still got one somewhere

i have my efs backup folder but i couldn't recover it. Hope you can help me
Found a folder in the sd card named backup>efs (Size 5MB). 4 folders inside & 14 files. As I read in some other topics, the most important files are nv_data & nv_data.bin.md5 which are present in the folder. Is this anyhow useful. Please help guys, my phone is of no use now!
One more thing that I don't get is that how this problem came, as the phone was working ok for aroung 4-5 days after flashing CM 10.1 A9. May be this is a hardware problem. I don't understand.

Hi all I tried searching and googling and couldn't find the answer or someone else having my problem. When I try to add a new contact I get the error "Re-enable the people application to use this feature" simple enough right? The only issue is I do not have a People app in my app settings or app drawer. Any ideas? Can anyone post the apk if possible? Really clueless as to how this happened. In Settings/Apps/All see if you have Contacts or go to the disabled tab and see if the Contacts app is there, if yes re-enabled it...

Hey guys!
XDA has always been a fine resource for all sorts tweaking since I first got a smartphone But today I have done something stupid and hope the XDA community could help reverse...
Phone Model: Nexus 4
Android version: 4.4
Phone is rooted
My wifi wasn't connecting and I found a solution online saying that I should delete these three folders:
/data/misc/wifi
/data/misc/dhcp
/etc/wifi
I was stupid enough to do it and now the phone's WiFi cannot be switched on anymore (WiFi switch stays gray and cannot turn on)
Is there anything I can do other than a factory reset? I have a lot of apps and restoring the app data will be very painful process...
Can anyone please zip up those 3 folders and post them here?
Thank you so much!

Also I can upload those files for you, my OS is 6.0.1, but I think files are the same like ones on 5.1.1.

Thanks! You helped me figure out how to uninstall wifi after reading many forums I couldnt do it.
So there's a preinstalled malware on a chinese tablet, which installs DU apps (battery saver, etc.). ESET shows thats its the online update, which is a HiddenApp. G trojan (https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/...ef9ea8c19454ced640ebedc89f3380332c4/analysis/). So how can i remove it? ESET doesnt want to remove it because its a system app, i contacted ESET via email and they sent me to their forums, no answers yet. I tried a removal tool too but it seems it wont work. How can i remove it? Android 4.4.2 , Smailo Titanius.
BTW: I cant find the file suggested by virustotal. Any help?

ESET doesnt want to remove it because its a system app, i contacted ESET via email and they sent me to their forums, no answers yet. I tried a removal tool too but it seems it wont work. How can i remove it? Android 4.4.2 , Smailo Titanius.
BTW: I cant find the file suggested by virustotal. Any help?

Since it's a Chinese tablet with an mtk processor, you may be able to simply root it with a one click app. I know those Chinese root apps aren't better but it could be the most simple result. Try kingroot, baidu root, stuff like that.

Correctly said. You do not have to alter system and all so a temporary root permissions will also work forbyou

Thanks , It's rooted already, and there wasnt exactly an apk, I only found the app's (mentioned by ESET) package name with package name viewer, and deleted it at internal/data/data folder, I hope this helps. (BTW I haven't found the whole app (.apk), only the data stuff.)
The app name is not exactly what data package shows.
The data is like com.bla.bla abd app name is a sensable one simple.
You have to find that the data which you deleted was created by which app.
Still deleting data cant solve the problem becauae when that app will run it will again create that data

Try /system/app and look for the apk, be careful though deleting a wrong one could result in a soft brick but your probably smarter than that.

I've tried it, but I cant find the apk there, I cant see nothing suspicious, via rootbrowser.

Just use a simple root app uninstaller.
Try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.systemappremover
