My over 1 year old VZW Galaxy S6 has got serious issues. I think since the Marshmallow update (can't say for sure) it has been constantly freezing and rebooting itself. Sometimes once or twice a day, and sometimes several times a day. Today alone it has been very stressful for me. Due to the fact that I can't go more than 10 minutes of use without it freezing or rebooting. Which led me to seeking help on XDA. I've tried several solutions found online: clearing the cache (in touchwiz, and during bootup), using safe mode, deleting apps, and of course several hard and soft resets. I'm tapped out. If all else fails I'm going to put in an insurance claim and get another phone. But before that, can anyone provide me with any other solutions? I would greatly appreciate it.

So my phone decides to reset itself (reboot) 1-3 times a day every day, it doesnt erase any data and all appears to be normal afterwards, but this is really frustrating, do I have a defective unit or what?
I've eliminated a few possibilities: It's not any software I've installed, did a wipe and installed nothing still happens. It's not the gps or internet as it happens when I am and am not using either. I have two batteries and seems to happen on both, if it is indeed defective how do I convince the Sprint Rep that I'm not crazy since I can't really REPLICATE the problem because it happens randomly.
Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks!!!
Hi
I have a problem with my Galaxy S2 where it's in a constant reboot loop and the only way to stop it is by taking the battery out.
I'm sure that if I do a factory reset it'll go back to normal.
The problem is, I can't back anything up because as soon as the phone boots up it restarts.
Is there ANY other way to back up my photos and videos etc?
I have NOT rooted the phone
Cannot find any solutions online
I'm currently having this problem too. A couple of days ago it kept rebooting in a loop. I took the battery out and left it for a while, then let it charge. It seemed okay afterwards. Now today it keeps rebooting, and the past couple of days it has refused to charge the battery because apparently the battery was "too hot or too cold" (don't quote me on that) so I'm very confused. Just now though the battery was about half-charged and it still went into the reboot loop.
Something else you should know is that like the OP it has the stock OS on. It isn't rooted or modified. I don't want to factory reset it because I have spent so much time customising it (with apps) and it would be a pain in the ass if the problem still existed afterwards. One thing I must ask the OP is, did you recently get a 64GB MicroSDXC card for your S2? I ask this because I did a couple of weeks ago and it's been working fantastically and was said to work fine with the S2, but I'd like to explore any possible reason this reboot loop is happening.
Thanks.
Edit: To confirm I deleted the cache and this didn't help. I don't want to hard reset...
I've just done a factory reset - I hadn't realised that it only affects my apps and not my files.
The phone is ok now.
Hey people!
I've had my Ace Plus for a while now, and there's one problem that's getting on my nerves. A year or so ago, I rooted the thing, and then accidentally updated the OS- causing it to be soft-bricked. I fixed that by following one of the many guides and reinstalling android, and it works perfectly now- except for the random moments where it reboots without warning, sometimes more than once per day, sometimes not for a week, when I'm using it, but also when it's just sitting there or on the charger. Especially the last is annoying, since it will not reboot but just show the battery status if charging.
Seeing that the problem started after I bricked it that first time, I don't think it's an app that's causing it. I've tried 'unbricking' it a few times (always following guides). I also tried underclocking it (no result) and I even tried running a logger overnight a few times, which also didn't manage to catch the reason for the reboot when it did happen.
I did repair my sister's bricked phone once by not only flashing the PDA file, but also the bootloader, csc, modem and pit file. Is that what I need to do with mine? If so, where do I find these?
I still see it as a fine phone, and even though I'm ready to go get a better one, I was wondering what else I could try to find out what is happening/stop it from happening.
Thanks in advance, even if it's just for reading!
This morning I wanted to use my SGS6 and it randomly rebooted. I thought I was a one time thing. I just update evernote and trello in the play store. It then happened again. I though maybe it was due to these updated apps so I deleted them. No result. Next step was clearing the cache in the recovery. Done, without any result.
I cursed a bit because the only thing left was a factory reset. When I wanted to backup my photos and so on, I got a error promoted on the computer that I couldn't read anything. Keep in mind that the reboots still happens every 2-5 minutes. Even when the battery was charged at the full 100%.
Now here is where I really missed the micro-SD. I had to move everything to google drive/dropbox. While the files were uploading, the reboots kept happening. I was busy for about an hour before everything was safe.
I then contacted Samsung. They asked if I could go to a Samsung Experience Store (I live in the Netherlands) but I wasn't able to go there so the service Representative told me I had to sent it for repair. Tomorrow the device will be picked up at my home. I'll will keep you posted about what Samsung does for me.
Does anybody else encountered these problems? Did the problems got solved ?
NOTED: I haven't rooted, I haven't installed the toggle fix yet because I didn't use those toggles, my device was bought less then a month ago on the 23th of may. No damages of the screen/back, it was in PERFECT condition
Hi guys,
I have my new phone bought on ebay (I forget the exact seller because was a friend of mine who bought it, i am overseas in Cuba) and from the beginning some icons are not painted correctly.
The thing has gotten worse since the phone restarts for no apparent reason and no matter what I am doing. Originally it came with the ZV8 software version , but i have permanently the notification for a downloaded update to install. So i do it and now i am with ZV9 version and has maintained the same problems.
I need any help you can give because i can't return the phone to US and here there is no official warranty service from LG that i can use.
Thank you and best regards.
I had a similar problem with my G Flex 2 after it updated to 5.11. It would randomly reboot and restart with optimizing apps almost every time. It did this at least twice a day. It would also have issues installing apps sometimes saying there was no storage available. When it did install apps sometimes they would crash when opening them. Eventually after resetting and erasing my device four times the issue went away. I read that sometimes this can be caused by a bad battery. See if your device stops crashing when it's plugged in. If it does it's probably the battery. If not try resetting it a few times in a row and see if the problem is still there.

Hi probaina, thanks for your answer!
By chance yesterday analyzing what happens I thought it could be a battery problem, because when reboots occurs and I watch the battery use log sometimes I find out that the percentage of battery drops for no reason. For that reason yesterday I left the battery ran out completely and then pluggin the phone on charge overnight in the hope that this would solve the problem. But today it has restarted twice already. I'll try what you say to keep the phone plugged in to see whether the problem occurs and I will keep you updated. Once again thank you for your time and response.
Best regards!
PS: Sorry about my english, is a work in progress!
