Now that Samsung has decided they are lactose intolerant and will no longer support Milk how are you folks going to stream music? This is one of the major reasons I want to buy the 3g enabled Gear S2. Am I delirious to think this was a good idea to begin with? Is there a valid replacement for Milk in the works?
Well, I am replying to myself as is the way most every day.
Just got off the phone with Samsung and they are replacing the Milk app with Sound Cloud. I'm not sure of the interface but I will be pleased if it is similar to the Milk one. That bezel control is too sexy to eliminate....
I have all my music in my Google Play... I'd much rather stream from there than whatever random music is on spotify, etc... I wish there was a way to do that on the gear alone.

I have 473829 'albums' on my phone because i play 'albums' all the time
bought 2 'albums' this week
Just noticed that my android 2.2 can't play albums in order????????
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't even acknowledge 'tracks' or 'track order' - so it just plays the track in alphabetical order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whats all that about?????
Some moron has sat down and spent maybe a month designing a media player - played an album in ALPHABETICAL ORDER and thought - great that it!
I cant beleive it
Last phone I had, that did this was LG i bought in 1980 sumink and even that was updated/corrected within few months
I'm gob smacked that you can buy a phone in 2012 that does not know how to play an album
I supose as well as the morons that designed it, most kids today dont know what an album is so wouldn't know any better
but it like watching a movie with all the scenes payed in alphabetical order instead of the proper order
I wondered why people pay £500 for iphone and starting to see why
Its a mistake only a total moron could make - prolly the same guy that decided to make sure you are wide awake to operate the 'snooze' function
I mean - the designer must have had 100000000's of opportunities to put it right and totally failed to even notice this blunder - which doesn't look good for the future but i have to ask
Can Android v4.0 play albums??? because android 2.2 cant
Music is a deal breaker for me so it might have to be iphone for me
I'm guessing you're using the stock Android music player(is that Google music)?
Well something the iPhone can't do is let you change the default music player, so just because the player it came with doesn't mean it can't be replaced.
Some of the popular music players are poweramp, playerpro, mixzing, doubletwist, cloudskipper, and Google play music

This has nothing to do with what Android version you're on and everything to do with what music player you choose to use. There's a ton of them out there, find one that has the features you want. I'm using a Sony built one called Walkman, it's the shiz.

And this part leads me to believe you are a total douchebag not willing to do a tiny bit of research before blasting an entire OS. So disregard what I said before, buy an iPhone, please. You'll fit in well.
Playlist Manager app to play albums
this will do it for you
visit the Google store ands search for Playlist Manager by THEOKLINK
it has a nice feature of selecting whole albums randomly.
So I have a very stupid question / possible coincidence. I've had this come up once or twice already. Since obviously the Google now launcher does the okay Google hot word, is it also possible for it to identify music as well as the hot word automatically? In both previous cases I was listening to music on another device but had my phone on the home screen. When I go into google play music it has recommendations at the top based on said music I was listening to despite me not listening to that music in play music for a few days. Is this just a coincidence? My odd imagination? I just find it really weird.
Thanks.
P.S. I should clarify that by other device I mean the factory no frills radio in my car.

It's probably just using the information from your last visit to the Play store. If you think about apps's that are made for recognising music songs, doing something like this via a Google search bar it would make the app rather large? I'm sure it's a small file size?
I might be wrong, but I'm guessing it's just remembered from the last time you used Play store, it could be coincidence if you listen to popular songs.
Tapatalk (application) is an android app that allows you to connect at several forum sites. It combines data and it is used by many users because they can switch forums very easily.

Apologies for the delay. Yeah, I guess it is a coincidence. I tried today to trigger it intentionally but didn't get it to happen this time. Just seemed odd though the first time around. Odd in a good way, anyways. I happen to like all the Google smarts and integration rather than fear it, personally. Not enough hours in the day these days to accomplish everything so the more assistance I can get, the better.
Thanks again for the response.
Hi, as yo can see, this will be my first post so......be gentle.
About you question, i think that the suggetions come from the info that you music player gather about the music you listen to, you can see if your music player "sees" what are you listening in senttings>apps> -your music player- >permissions.
I hope that you found this helpful. =D
Hi everyone!
I wanted to check in and see if anyone knows that it may be possible to get Play Music on our speaker sporting watches at least with All Access streaming as now we have all the tools to do so including wifi and speaker support and would love to be able to stop having to sync specific albums to the storage all the time to use it. This would be a pretty popular app and I would definitely pay for one like this.
Anyone else think they would enjoy a mod or app like this to play music. I think spotify can do this on the watch but I don't have a subscription to spotify and wanna stick with my google play music. :highfive:
I am currently on a Huawei Watch.
So, a quick off the cuff maybe may be in order...
Here is why...
First, those of us without speakers may not miss out on this either what with full Bluetooth support already here. ...
Second, we can already install apps using adb. We can also install those appsm to specific folders. This is easier with watches thatmplkug in through USB, but all wear watches support adb so installing the Google software is possible. We can probably install play music directly.
Third, though our watches do not all have native direct wifi support, many do, and I am guessing it is going to be supported by the 1.4 OS. However, even if it is not, if you install an app in your /system folder, it can access wifi directly as it needs.
Fourth, and here is where the good news ends... Google play music is not a stand alone app. It relies on Google play services, and they are to say the least, complicated. We have them on the watch to communicate to the phone, but not the full version. So, I have no idea how well the app will install, let alone work. Likewise, Google only allows developers to access certain libraries and play music has not released any (to my knowledge) for Wear other than the typical hooks for controlling your music.
So, all of this adds up to a maybe...

I used to have a Gear 2 which used a program called Gearam for music detection. I was wondering if there is anything available for the S2 to detect songs like Shazam does? I can currently do it on my Huawei watch and am thinking of getting an S2 but not having this would be a deal breaker. I appreciate any feedback on this.
havent heard anything like that .. but sounds great ...
I think everyone should tweet and message on all social networks to app developers so they see that many of us want support for this watch .. for example I already tweeted to Waze .. will see what they will replay
consider to use Music Player S2
Hi folks
I used to have the Galaxy Watch and I've upgraded to the Galaxy Watch 4 and it's quite disappointing that Bixby can't play songs from Spotify even for premium subscribers and even when it is paired to my Samsung phone. I've so far sideloaded and used the modified Spotify apk which allows me to search and stream but it also doesn't work it Bixby. I have even sideloaded Google Asistant but after it says it will play the song it always says there was a problem as it doesn't seem to work with native watch or phone apps. Is there any workaround for this function either in Spotify or any other music streaming service such as YouTube Music? If not is anyone currently working on it?
Thanks all
Yeah the Android ecosystem is so broken. I can't imagine apple releasing a watch without such basic functions.
Surely someone will find a way to make galaxy watch 4 bixby work with Spotify
Ok
