Anybody out there like me and like having a complete custom case to show off when you pull out your modified, super fast Galaxy S? Well you're in luck my friends, a company called Case-Mate now sells custom Barely There cases.
A little background - Case-Mate is a company based in Atlanta that has been making cell phone cases for just over five years. In the past a cell phone case was about protecting your phone. Case-Mate has decided to change the market and offer cases that are meant to express you. With this philosophy in mind they have now launched a program called I Make My Case. With this feature they now give the consumer the ability to design their own custom case. You can choose to upload an image, say a company logo, family pet or something far more kick a$$ than that. The images aren't just printed on your phone where they can be peeled or easily scratched off. They have new state of the art technology that actually embeds the image into your case.
The Barely There design is just that.. Barely There. It gives your phone added protection without taking away the sleek design of your phone. Not to mention free screen protector included
Who doesn't want their own unique case?! I have made two of my own custom cases and the quality is incredible. Just need a 2 MP picture

Humm alright, thanks for that!
And one thing just to be sure.... is it a cover to protect the phone or is it the back cover for battery?
Hummm.... Like is it the cover you can take off the back to get to the battery or is it a cover to protect the phone which you put over it?
Thanks!

Its a cover to protect the phone. It gives a small lip over the screen to you can set it on the front and not have it resting on the screen. I personally like it because it doesn't add any bulk while adding protection.
this looks great, website loads...but when i choose the design a case link it says "design your case - Now loading..." and doesn't get any further, tried on IE and FF.
Anybody else able to get on the design page atm?
Same thing here!
waste of time. doesn't work. stuck on loading
why didn't they have this when I bought my barely there ....
Still it's a pretty neat idea & fun ....
Here's one I made, but didn't order .... but just might ....
That's great feature!! Is it possible to do the magic to a tough case (and not barely dare as in the link)?

No, unfortunately the big wigs didn't listen when I said that was better. Were working on the galaxy s 2 now and I think I've convinced them to do tough for that

these are not customizable, but something different, its available for other phones and model.
Do any of the Galaxy S variant cases fit the Galaxy SL GT-I9003? I tried the Galaxy S I9000 Tough Case at a local shop on my Galaxy SL and it didn't fit.
I received the KLD case off ebay not too long ago. The case came about a week after I placed an order (this includes weekend days). So first things first, the case is well made. I remember someone had expressed that the back stitching may be of concern but I looked at it and it looks like it will hold up just fine with moderate use.
I mentioned in my other review thread that this case is a major disappointment. The reason being is because I bought the case thinking it would have the auto wake/sleep feature. This case does NOT support this feature. Because of the lack of magnets in this case, it leads to a second major disappointment. The cover even when closed will flap around if you were to have it in your bag.
Because it is PU leather, it does smell VERY plastic like.
Finally, I chose to have the white option, if you take a look at the link, you will see that its a very pure white color. However, the cover I received is beige NOT white at all.
In conclusion, do I like this case? No, not at all. I can't recommend it to anyone. This is a cheaper alternative to the Samsung Book Cover (though I don't know if the official book cover supports the wake/sleep feature).
Pros
-Slim
-Nice cut outs (look at pics below)
-Not too expensive- I paid only $16.50 (free shipping)
Cons
-Does NOT have wake/sleep feature
-Cover does NOT stay in place because of the lack of magnets
-Bad smell even after leaving it in the open for 3 days
-The case I bought is WHITE, this case is clearly BEIGE
I give the case a 4/10. The quality is great but the lack of features that many other cases have for a cheaper price hampers it's overall rating.
Finally my search for a perfect slim case isn't over- I bought yet another case from Moko- that looks great. I'll post up yet another review when it's out. Check it out here! :

Update in Post #18- 3 New Pics to show how it is after a week of use.
Thanks for sharing this great review! It is too bad the KDL wasn't very good after all. And I'm surprised it did not support wake/sleep.

That does look really promising! It clearly has a magnetic closure and uses magnets to hold the stand in place. And I like the broad assortment of colors.
A few other observations (about the MoKo Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case), just from looking at the pics, etc. on Amazon:
It appears that the shell is a bit thicker than other cases I've considered. In fact, it seems from the pictures like the shell is thick enough that the camera lens is actually recessed (instead of sticking out); I'm not 100% certain as it could just be an unintentional optical illusion. But if the camera lens is recessed that could be nice for protecting the lens a little bit. On the other hand though I do wonder about added weight and how that will feel (ie, if it will be noticeably heavier?). The Galaxy Note 8 weighs 11.7 ounces (338g) and I believe the official Samsung Book Cover weighs 3.2 ounces (90.72g), which makes for 14.9 ounces total (just shy of a 1lb, which seems like a decently light amount). The Amazon page indicates a weight of the MoKo at 5oz, which (if correct) is just a little heavier than the Samsung case, so hopefully not enough to be noticeable.
I don't see any mention of wake/sleep being supported. But I know you mentioned the other Moko case you tried did support wake/sleep, so hopefully this one does too!
I wonder how well the PU leather is going to hold up to folding the front cover flat against the back. It seems that would put a bit of stress on the part that will be bending around the case so I wouldn't be surprised to see cracking start rather quickly in that area (depending on the quality).
I just noticed in one of the pictures (the one for the white color, where a hand is holding the case in the air, demonstrating the magnets holding the stand in a triangle) that the GN8 is popping out of the case a little (in the bottom right of the picture). Hopefully that was just an oversight on their part as they were swapping out cases for the pictures, and not actually indicative of a loose fit. Pictures of the other colors appear to be fitting snugly in those same poses.
I look forward to your next review! I think I'm down to considering the above Moko and the Poetic Slimline (mentioned by someone else). I'll keep my fingers crossed that this Moko will be significantly better than the other one you reviewed! :fingers-crossed:
Hey pluginalong I actually contacted the seller before purchasing, they said they support the sleep/wake function. It won't be shipping till next week but my current Moko case should hold till then

Hey, that's great to hear--this case really sounds promising!
I have one of these as well. I got a light blue one. I really like it except for the lack of magnets. I WANT sleep wake and would like for it to stay in place. Also I found that if I put it in my bag and it is kind of full it will turn the screen on and run the battery down.
Thats total crap if sellers are saying these things are "smart wake" when they aren't. I was hoping mine would arrive soon, but if it isn't going to work then looks like I'll be looking elsewhere.

I guess the only to do is check your consumer law...if you are going through paypal hammer home that it is misleading or deceptive. You should be ok though. Good luck

and it is a major disappointment - totally agree with OP. But, does anyone know exactly where the magnet should go? It should be possible to attach a slim, rubberized magnetic on the case in a discrete manner so as not to make the case totally ugly but yet turn on the Note?

I think from some videos I saw (a few weeks ago) of the official Samsung Book Cover case that it seemed like the magnet must be somewhere on the left side as the wake/sleep seemed to be triggered by movement on the left side as opposed to the right side being lifted (which perhaps might be done in order avoid errant wake/sleep events since the right side can slide around some on some cases?). My guess is that the magnet would be somewhere within the bezel area and not under the screen proper. The reason being is that the Wacom technology works in part through electromagnetic fields (if I'm remembering correctly) and I would imagine that a wake/sleep magnet would somehow complicate that. So if you have a magnet to experiment with you could try running it around the bezel (starting with the left side) and see if you can trigger the wake/sleep. If it were me I'd start in the middle of the left bezel (when in portrait orientation).
If you don't have a magnet on hand you could also try various metal objects that are capable of carrying a magnetic charge as some technology works by responding the disruption/change of a magnetic field, which doesn't actually require another magnet, but just an object with enough of a hint of its own natural field to cause a change (I believe this is how some stoplights work here in the US, where there are wires in the ground to notify the stoplight a car is waiting, because the car disrupts/changes the electromagnetic field of the wire). I'm not totally sure if this principal can work on this small of a scale or not, but it could be worth a shot for some limited experiments.

Looks like my hunches were incorrect.
I have just ordered this one from ebay:
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121107475861
(I cannot post links yet, you'll need to copy and paste in your web browser)
It is cheap and looks slim and similar to the KLD one and it has a magnetic tab to keep it securely closed.
According to the description it supports "auto sleep and wake up when close and open" but I am not sure if I believe it. I can always open a dispute if it is not true

Yea I thought so too when I ordered. If it's the KLD you ordered, I can definitely confirm that it doesn't support that function. I FINALLY got my sale disputed
Update
Even though I didn't like this case, I wanted to use it because it was slim. So while I waited for the Moko Shell (which I use now) I used the KLD everday for a solid week.
3 more things I've noticed that makes it even worse!
1- extended use with the cover as a stand eventually makes the cover pop up and as far as I've seen, it hasn't been able to flatten back out properly
2- Because this case lacks the sleep/wake function, you have to turn on the tablet with either the power button (or home). Unfortunately, I guess KLD really wanted to add that protection there- so there's a bezel above the power button- but this makes pressing the volume & power button a lot more difficult!
3- Finally, folding the cover back is also a problem. The stitching for the cover looks nice but when it's folded, it makes the tablet poof up (notice the rather big gap in the folded area- not present on other cases). Writing on the tablet with the cover folded back causes a "bouncy" feel.
Check out the pics to see what I'm talking about

Thanks for the additional followup and pics! All 3 of those things are very helpful to know!
Unfortunately, I ordered the KLD case a few days before reading this thread. It seems nice enough. Its the style I like. But I only popped my Note in and out of it. I didn't use it for any length of time. I had also ordered a Rock Mix case and that's what I'm using. It does have sleep/wake function. I filed a complaint with the KLD seller and he initially offered a full refund if I sent the case back (with him paying shipping) or $5.00 refund. He then sent another offer to refund me 100% and let me keep the case if I gave him positive feedback. I accidently accepted the $5.00 offer. That's fine though because I wanted to keep the case. It's stored away as a backup.
Just finished an excessively in depth video review of the Wildtek waterproof case. Let me know if you guys have any questions about the case or if you want to see more reviews like this.
There's also a giveaway to go along with the review. Wildtek hooked me up with 9 cases for the giveaway. You have until April 5th to enter. Watch the end of the video or read the description on YouTube for giveaway details.
EDIT: A few quick clarifications:
-As some of the xda members have correctly pointed out, while the official labeling from the manufacturer for this product is “case”, it is a pouch.
-This case/pouch is not to be confused with the cheap $5 to $10 case/pouches found on Amazon like the Joto or similar. The key difference is that the vast majority are made out of PVC which will harden and start to break into pieces after a few months to a year (see amazon reviews). The Wildtek case is made out of TPU which is why it cost $20 instead of $5 or $10. For a full explanation of the difference see the video.
-This is the only case/pouch I could find that has damage reimbursement in their warranty. If your phone gets water damage while using this case they’ll replace your phone. See video for more details on that.
-This case/pouch is waterproof to 100+ft underwater, but they advertise it as 30ft because many phones will crack under the pressure when you get to that depth. The company didn’t want to mislead scuba divers by making them think their phones would be fine at that depth. You can, however, take things like your wallet scuba diving with this case. This information was given to me by the CEO of Wildtek after I contacted them with some questions about the materials and IP rating.
-I wasn’t given the cases to do the review. I finished most of the review first, then asked if they’d be interested in sending me some cases to do a giveaway (otherwise I would have just bought one extra case/pouch myself for the giveaway). Fortunately, they sent nine.
-Again, don’t mistake this for the cheap, hard plastic (PVC) pouch you may have bought in the past. I’ve used those and agree entirely that they are terrible and not worth the investment or risk.
-I hope that clears things up

I'd like to know how this company is allowed to call this a case.
Also, about the touchscreen sensors, I used that blue painter's masking tape to remove dust from my screen when applying a new screen protector. You wouldn't believe the screen's touch sensors continued to work flawlessly with tape covering my screen. I navigated through my Note 4 as if nothing was on the screen.

Oh yeah, the touch screen is amazingly sensitive. If you really want to be blown away by the sensitivity pull down your notification shade, expand to see all of the toggles, then enable "touch sensitivity". It allows you to use the touchscreen with most types of gloves on as if your not even wearing the gloves. I was even able to use the touchscreen perfectly fine though a pretty thick stack of post-it notes. This phone is absolutely amazing. :good:

Will this case work with a note 4 with a Zerolemon case or an Otterbox defender.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
I received this case for my Galaxy S6 at an 85% discount in order to provide an honest review. Before I begin, it is important to note that I am not the type of person who would find a wallet case useful. I do not always carry my wallet with me on my person in the first place, and as I am often in the gym, I need a case that can stand up to sweat and dirt. That being said, I am reviewing this case as a wallet case. I'll assume that if you're interested in buying this, you have already made the decision that you are a wallet case kind of person. Finally, note that I did not use this case for more than a couple days. I cannot attest as to its long term durability.
My very first thought upon receiving the product was that it was packaged nicely. My second thought was that the included lanyard, which you need to loop into the case yourself, was extremely annoying. I removed it almost immediately after installing it.
The case has a distinct, leathery smell. The smell also rubs off on your fingers the first few days and can cause some minor alarm until you realize that it's from the case. It otherwise feels and looks premium.
My biggest gripe with the case is that it is not useful to someone with more than a few credit cards. There are 4 slots for cards, and one of the slots has a clear plastic cover, ideal for placing an ID for quick viewing. In my usage I found that each slot couldn't take more than 1 or 2 cards before the case was unable to close and began to warp. In total, if you have more than 6 cards, you're going to have to leave some behind. For me, this meant I could only fit my driver's license, my school ID, two credit cards, and two debit cards. And that's not including cash, which seems like a pain to put in and out.
As far as the phone's functionality goes, the case has a plastic frame that snugly fits around the phone. The buttons are accessible through openings in the case and are easy to press. If you need to take a phone call, it seems like you'd have to fold the wallet portion of the case around the back. Again, I'm not a wallet case person. I imagine this is the case with all similar products.
Overall, it's a nice product for what it's meant to do. My real problem was not being able to carry more than 6 cards. This made the case impractical for me. But if this is the type of case you want, it will do nicely.

Yes, I know this forum is littered with reviews of the Poetic Affinity case, but heck, I received one as well and want to share my thoughts too. Feel free to move along if you're not interested.
I’ve been using a Poetic Affinity case for about 5 days now. The nice folks at Poetic sent it in exchange for this review. First things first; here is an imgur album with a bunch of pics I took, in no particular order.
http://imgur.com/a/OJjZ0
My first impression upon opening the package was very positive. Base on the pics on Amazon, I really didn’t think a clear case like this would be very appealing to me. However, it really looks awesome on the phone and increases my grip on the phone exponentially. I love the look of the naked 6P, but I lived in fear of dropping the damn thing as it’s so freaking smooth and thin. This case completely solved that issue. It has very grippy ridges on the perimeter and getting the phone out of my pocket is no longer a risky maneuver.
Based on the Amazon pics, I thought the black frame and accents would look bad. I couldn’t have been more wrong. They break up the giant expanse of aluminum and offer more gripping surface on the back side of the phone, which is critical for one-handed use.
The button feel is excellent. Before getting this case, I occasionally had a problem finding the right button. With the case, however, the buttons are easy to find and offer a very positive and reassuring click when pressing them.
Both the headphone and USB cutouts seem to be sized very well and easily accommodated every plug I tested. All the mic and sensor cutouts also seem to be sized and placed correctly. I haven’t had any issues with taking photos, making calls or recording video. All in all, this case is well designed and executed.
Now, no case is perfect and this one has a couple things that might bug you. The stylized “P” logo sits right on top of the “s” in the Nexus logo and kinda bugs me a little. Clearly, this is not a functional problem and doesn’t affect the case’s ability to protect your phone. The other issue is more of a concern down the road and not right now. I’m not sure how well the clear plastic will hold up over time. Hopefully it stays crystal clear like it is right now and doesn’t turn yellow with time.
Conclusion: Based solely on the enhanced grip and button feel, I’m completely sold on this case. I would happily pay the asking price were I suddenly to need another one. No, it’s not perfect, but it’s close enough for me. Thanks again to Poetic for the opportunity to check out their product.
Aside from it being a very ugly case, I really dislike its branding. The one on the bottom near the USB-C port is fine, but those other two are just not necessary.

I actually like the design of the case, but I agree about the branding. I've talked to someone from Poetic, and they are going to redesign the branding based on the feedback.
To each his own, for sure. I didn't like the looks of it either based on the pics in their listing, but somehow it's different in person. Regardless, it functions well in a way that works for me and that's all I could ask for in a case.

What people will do for a free case. If you post a review on Amazon, like I am sure they expect you to do, you need to explicitly state that you received the item for free for you to review.

I certainly understand this sentiment, however were the case not up to my expectations and standards, I would not have stated otherwise.

I apoloigize for coming across the wrong way. I didnt mean that you gave a good review for the circumstance. I just wanted to convey that it should be clearlhy stated that the item was received for free in return for an honest review. You will see many "professional" reviewers state this as well.

After rereading my opening paragraph I concede your point. I will edit it for clarification.
