I just wanted to give a huge thanks to Android Fan Network (Nick) for sending me this case! :highfive: Thanks guys!
okay, so this is the first time I've ever seen a diztronic case.
i wasn't sure what to expect, honestly, i first heard about them a week ago when i saw AFN's review they posted on facebook. Well, I wanted to get my hands on a case ever since I saw that review. So, naturally I was really excited to get home from work tonight at 8pm to find this sitting in my mailbox! Even though the unit I received was pink I still wanted it on my phone, for a few minutes at least! Well, I just want to say that Diztronic really used high quality TPU when they designed this case. It really has a premium feel that a lot of TPU cases lack.
PRO's:
-fitment, honestly it is exactly like it should be. No excess space and nothing is cramped. (the IR blaster is slightly off center, but it still works perfectly)
-button covers. Yes, this is actually a PRO on this case. It is flimsy enough to allow for a tactile feedback of the button! It actually clicks. I don't know why all companies don't make this a priority.
-Lip, it has just the right amount of lip around the top edge to protect your device without going insaine
CON's: These are so minimal, I almost didn't even list them
-No grip on the sides
-camera cutout is not 'perfect' it is slightly raised and causes the phone to rock back and forth when placed on the back, it is also a large square instead of being cut the fit. (not a big deal just something to note)
-My review unit is pink and I cannot be seen with it on my phone in public.
Overall, I would give this TPU case a 5*/5* It is exactly what I look for in a case, and if it were not pink, I would keep it myself! So, if anyone would like a sparkly pink TPU case from Diztronic, I would like to offer the chance to win it, free shipping and all.
I want someone to answer the following question: (Yes, I am a math geek!)
Solve the system:
1) x+2y+2z=10
2) 2x+y+z=8
3) x+3y+2z=11
First person to give me all three numbers that x, y , and z represent wins the case with no shipping charges. Good luck!
Disregard my marked fingers. I work at starbucks and I happened to be on register during happy hour...:crying:

power button
Let me know what you guys think, I know I love the case sans color choice!

Lol, I knew linear algebra was good for something. I don't really think I know anyone who would want this case. I already have 9 TPU cases and pink isn't one of my favorite colors. I may pass it on to someone else.

I know, I personally love the phone and want to help build a better community here. I got this case for free and really only wanted to review it. I know I love getting something I want for free, especially something that is, in my opinion, good. I'm going to give away two other cases soon, so be on the lookout for those!
I agree though, there is a lot of negative threads here, we need more positive ones for such a great phone.
Pass it on like OP said, can't be seen in public with a pink s4 now, if my girlfriend had an s4 I'd gladly take it but she has a lame 4s

Alright, so first come first serve. Who ever has a girlfriend with an S4, or would just like an awesome TPU case that happens to be pink, send me a PM or post here. (Be sure to quote me or PM me as well so I get an E-mail notification!)
Im sure there has to be one girl in our community.. lol

I think there used to be a thread on this, but I can't find it anymore. Here's my question:
I'm looking for a thin leather case for my S6. Not so much a wallet style case, sleeve, or one with a closure, just a protector for the back and sides of the device. My experience with PU or low-grade leather (<$20) isn't great, so I'm fine spending a little more money (>$50).
Ideally, it would be brown and available in the US. The options I've seen so far don't fit in with the color, price, or domestic availability. Any suggestions? If you're going to suggest these, I've already looked at them and they are a bust:
I'm an XDA noob, so I'm prevented from posting links, but I've looked at cases from Stilgut (can't order from Amazon US and potential returns to DE seem difficult), Sena (no back-only case for the S6), Vaja (not making a case for the S6), and Montblanc (if I'm gonna spend $110, I need one that is perfect, i.e., brown). None fit the bill.
Again, apologies if this is a duplicate thread. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
P.S. As an aside, I'd consider a wooden case, but none of those (Carved, Toast, etc.) seem to be what I'm looking for either.
I'm interested in this as well.
The official Apple leather case for the iPhone is perfection for what I want. Unfortunately, that's one area that Samsung doesn't seem willing to take design queues from. I wouldn't mind paying 40/50 bucks if its THE only case id want/need.

Currently choosing between Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6. As silly as it might sound, a good leather (shell) case is one of my highest priorities.
I broke 3 iPhone 5's until I put the official leather case on it (I always disliked plasticky cases).
It added more grip, and just enough protection from average falls.
Ridiculous really. Choosing a $1000 piece of tech based on a $50 accessory. But that's just how it is.
Hopefully someone knows of something.
They haven't announced the S6 case yet but I have always been happy with with Vajacases - if you are willing to drop some extra cash. Here's one of the options for the S5: http://www.vajacases.com/galaxy-s5-leather-cases/premium-leather-grip
Edit: I see you mentioned Vaja is not making an S6 case. What is your source? It usually takes them a few months before the new models are ready.
There actually was a thread on this subject until recently, but when trying to find it now, I just realized it has inexplicably been deleted. Had a few good examples in it, but they're obviously not reachable now. I'll post the link here below in case the thread turns up again.

I contacted Vaja through their website back in April and they told me that it was under development. When I checked in last week, they said that a case for the S6 "is not currently being planned for production. We planned to develop a line in the past but I am afraid right now the project has been cancelled."
Whether that means it may show up later, who knows, but for now we're out of luck. Boo.
Yeah, no clue either why the other thread disappeared. It led me to a couple of versions of Apple-esque leather Galaxy S6 cases on eBay.
This one without a plastic fill in the camera/HRM cutout is the one that I already bought in dark blue for my black S6. In short:
Top and bottom are left uncovered
Fit is pretty good, no looseness anywhere really
The power + volume down buttons are both properly clicky
The volume up is pretty mushy, but not too bad
No interference with headphone jack or bottom USB port
The width of the case means that the camera module no longer touches the surface when laid on its back
It does NOT, however, appear to have any lift on the front so your screen will touch the surface when laid facedown
The last item was probably so that swiping in from the edge of the screen is still quite comfortable
Overall I'm pleased enough with the quality and feel of the PU leather cases that I might end up also trying out this slightly different version with plastic fill for the camera/HRM cutout . I'm not sure if it's unclear photos but it looks like this version has full coverage around at least the top of the bottom?
Anyhow, the one that I have feels a lot like the Apple Leather case I've tried out on iPhone 6, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Wow, thank you so much. The "more expensive one" is exactly what I am looking for. No cutouts on the side or anything. Looks perfect. Out of curiosity, how long did shipping take? I have the worst luck with that kind of thing, and it looks like it ships out of China.
Also, since you have the dark blue/black S6, can you throw up a few images for me?
I just ordered one of each... hopefully they arrive before S7....
Looks like one of these would work. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, the buttons on the second cases I linked in my post look like they'll have better buttons. On mine it's like... slits on each end of the button section.
Shipping was surprisingly fast for me. I think I wanted like... just under two weeks? I was quoted a shipment time like 30+ days from purchase (which is insane), so I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up in normal China --> US shipment time.
If I can get a few minutes to myself at home tonight I'll try and snap a few choice pics of the dark blue on my black S6.
Though it's not without its tradeoffs, I think you'll be more than pleased with your order

I know exactly what you mean. Originally I wanted an Xperia Z3, but there are literally no cases available without massive side cut-outs. The Z3 one is borderline ridiculous: http://www.bouletta.com/index.php?id_product=103&controller=product
The Galaxy S6 one isn't too bad. Not as good as the standard Apple one though unfortunately =\
I have the second case linked from ebay earlier. It is nowhere near leather feeling. I would say it feels more like a smoothed out velvet than anything. Also, the case does not really offer any protection for the front. It might stick out 1mm past the screen. Overall it is an okay case for the price, but if anyone wants a "leather" feel to a case, this is not the one for you. The buttons are not that great either. You lose most of the tactility from the keys with the case. I imagine over time they will break in and feel better, but after a week of use it doesn't feel great, but doesn't feel as bad as it did at first.

Am I missing something? I can't seem to find a price/how to buy? Is it a non-US site?. Also, the brown case looks grayish, no? (I'm legit color blind though, so that could just be my broken eyes)
Hey that bouletta case looks really nice. However, is the thickness of the back of the case enough so that the camera doesn't touch the surface the phone is placed on? I've seen many posts of people saying how they cracked the camera lenses after just putting the s6 on its back like on a table or something similar.
Thanks

ARRIVED!!
This one came in today : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-Orig...Domain_0&var=570673785727&hash=item3f4af29e66
Gotta say... i'm insanely impressed. I can't imagine getting much closer to the official Apple Leather case than this. Sure, there is virtually no drop protection, but that's not what I'm into. Just need to keep it scratch free and get that camera bump evened out. I have attached some pics.
Biggest problem for most people will be lack of lip around the screen. It's pretty much flush with the aluminum on the device. I actually prefer that since I never ever place my device face down... so i'm able to still feel the slight curve to the glass.
The buttons are a little stiff right now - but I'm going to chalk that up to material. It'd be awesome if they wear in over time, but not a big deal if they don't. I'm thrilled with this thing for 8 bucks... could easily sell for 30 in US retail stores.
I also got the 5 dollar version and it's not nearly as nice. That two dollars makes all the difference in the world apparently.

Thanks for the pictures. It looks to be a little off around the bottom of the phone. Is it just the angle of the picture or is that the case?
I had purchased something like this for an iPhone 6 plus that I had and it just slightly didn't fit the phone. The cut out for the camera was off were it wouldn't sit flush with the back of the phone. I ended up just biting the bullet and paying the 50 odd bucks for the apple one. It would be nice if there was a decent quality real leather option, even if the price was higher. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Again thanks for the picture.

What is not clear to me, or depicted as far as I can tell, is how the buttons are handled?
Judging by pictures it looks like the fingerprint cutout is quite narrow, and given the overall thickness of this case it looks like one will have to dive his finger deep into that hole in order to unlock the phone. Can you comment on this?
I would also like to see the buttons as this detail is missing on the pictures.
Other than that the cases look good.

We've tested the case thoroughly here and found no problems with the access to the finger print scanner. The sensor itself seems to be so efficient that when holding the phone in front of you the tip of the index finger is more than sufficient to unlock it, and we've found this just as easy to do with the case on as without the case.
As per my previous post, you can see some extra pictures of the buttons here:

Like @nexicon I, too, would have liked to have had the Nexus logo engraved by custom request. Toastmade, dbrand, and Slickwraps all offer this option (Toast by custom request) so I'm curious as to whether there's some especially obnoxious, UK-specific law preventing that?

Unfortunately whilst we can't speak for other companies, engraving the Nexus logo onto the case without Google's permission would be enough to constitute an infringement of Google's Nexus trademark and so (for the time being at least) it's not something that we're able to offer, even by custom request.

If you e-mail Carved customer support, you'll hear from them that they have no plans to make a case for the Nexus 6P.
Furthermore, both Carved and Cover-Up have two different versions of their cases: the Slim/Snap series (respectively) and the Traveler/Explorer series (respectively). If you compare the products (for their iPhone 6 lineup) they're literally identical (even down to the design of the rubber surrounding the wood back; I wouldn't even be surprised if they sourced the exact same components and materials). The former happens to be more minimalistic, while the latter offers more protection.
At least Cover-Up decided on making a case for the N6P; they're just only offering it in the Explorer version, since it's more versatile. Personally, I'm glad for this decision because the Slim/Snap series leave the top and bottom edges exposed, meaning less coverage against scratches and drops.
Ya thanks to know

Our #WoodBack cases for 6P are now ready! All pre-orders will ship later on today.
I have uploaded a very quick video of the case here. Please excuse the poor quality of the video, I hope to get our in-house photographer to create something a little better later this week but wanted to give you a sneak peek.
I've also added some extra photos. (This particular case is Bamboo.)
As ever, any questions just shout .
The link you provided directs to an old video of the iPhone 6 and galaxy S6.
The case seems to be as thick as the thickest part of the phone, I guess it's not possible to shape the wood to adhere the the phone's shape?
Is there a gap below the camera where the phone is thinner?

This one actually belongs to Juan (Some Gadget Guy), but the V10 cover starts at $34 which includes side wraps. If you see a custom cover that you fancy, you can actually get it for $44 - $49 since it's already laid out. Just place a custom cover order and upload the image of it. You can switch the woods up, too. Once received, you'll get a refund on the difference.
Here's my custom S7: https://imgur.com/a/aIbe5
The chevrons don't do it for me but that wood is nice
Does it come with anything in terms of warranty in case you drop it? I've always found with previous devices, that those "custom wood" backs crack if you drop the device even a single time.

amazing how thin it looks for a real wood case. How would you say the durability/build quality is? Survive a fall?

They're crafted from furniture grade hardwoods, so it will protect the device in any fall. Honestly it seems sketchy prior to applying being so thin, but once it's Toasted, the device acts as the backbone and the wood is uncrackable. If it's a hard enough impact, you may scratch / ding the wood, but the device beneath will remain unscathed.
One of my colleagues was actually running to catch the bus when she tripped and fell, Toasted phone in-hand (see attached image). She used it to break her fall and actually slid on it, hence the wood being chewed up by the pavement. Her phone was sporting side wraps prior to the photo, but when it was all removed, the phone looked exactly as it did prior to Toasting. Later that day, I **** you not, she dropped the naked phone and shattered the screen.

Sorry, sanjsrik; I failed to tag you in that last reply to banananutmuffin (please see response).
We do not have a warranty against drops, but Toast can take a hit. We do have a warranty against manufacturing defects which are a rare occurrence (our Quality Control team actually signs off on the order slip at every step of the order process).
Toast is like a skin / case hybrid... a "skase" if you will. It's applied like a skin, but being wood veneer, it provides much more grip and protection. It's in no way intended to be an ultra protective case; we actually created it because we wanted something natural that didn't bulk up the device. Cases are prone to getting debris inside which can scratch the device, and you frequently have to remove it to use accessories (cables, memory card, battery sway, dock, etc). The plastic in which it snaps together can also wear and frequently fails over time. There's actually a lot that goes into the design process, and we always use the actual device which is why we never release a cover before the device is out. Different materials warrant different adhesives, and the laser scored lines have to be dialed in to perfection.
Anyways, sorry for going off... I'm really passionate about our covers if you couldn't tell. If anything else comes to mind, just let me know!

I can dig the chevron, but not really a fan of the other two from the inlay series. Check out our IG which features a bunch of our custom work: https://www.instagram.com/toastmade/

So, essentially what you're saying is you have drop-test results you can share to back up your claims? You cannot say "it doesn't have a warranty against drops" and in the same sentence state, "but Toast can take a hit". Back up your marketing hype with real-world results. Please post them, because otherwise all of your claims are nothing more than baseless and marketing hype despite how "really passionate" you get about your covers. Skase, cute name. Does it mean anything more than you don't really stand behind your product except to say it's "safe"?
From my reading you're not much more than a skin with a veneer. You shouldn't claim "it can take a hit" with no backup to that fact. It's misleading hiding in marketing speak.

We've been around for over 4 years so there are tons of reviews out there to back this up. Again, it's not intended to be an ultra protective case, but it will protect the phone in just about any kind of drop. Every cover is treated with 3 coats of a hand rubbed finish to protect against the elements, but if you beat the **** out of it, the wood will likely begin to chip.
I was under the impression that you were asking if we warranty our covers... as in if you damage it, will we send a replacement cover. I don't know of a case company that will cover your phone under their warranty.

This will be my last response. What I understand is you keep making marketing-speak claims about your cases but can't back any of them up anything more than "there are tons of reviews out there". You need to not talk out of both sides of your marketing mouth when you talk about your veneers.
Essentially you're selling veneers. Not cases. They're mounted on plastic backing with a veneer. I don't know how that can offer any protection against any kind of drops. It's no wonder you can't offer any kind of reassurances.
No, not talking about beating the **** of a case. I am talking about putting your money where your claims are.
Good luck with the (marketing) veneer.

We've never once called it a case, and we make it very clear that it's wood veneer on our site: http://www.toastmade.com/faqs/ I was just stating that it offers more protection than a skin and will not crack, as you initially stated you've experienced with others. I'm not about to go digging up reviews for you. Even XDA wrote one on the custom covers we made them, and they're clearly fans: https://twitter.com/xdadevelopers/status/721547732872228864
This is also on our home page... clearly not a case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLNmhtrVbDE

Wind your neck back in.
It looks like a great product and the guys who make it are responding to customers. How many other manufacturers do that? (rhetorical question, don't answer)
I'm tempted to buy one.
It is really nice. Thank you so much for sharing.
Cool. But if there is some other design.I want some more bright for my honey V10.
I used this cover for almost 2 weeks now. I love it. I love how it feels in the hands. It can take few drops and actually protect the phone. It is not only for show.
I just have 2 complaints:
1 - The IR blaster is not working with the top cover. While it is cut nicely around the IR port, it seems the blaster needs more room to send out the signal to the TV.
2 - The corners on the stainless steel sides fall off after a week. The design was perfect to cover all sides of the phone but those tiny triangles couldn’t stick after few days of putting the phone in my pocket and removing from my pocket over and over again.
anyone know where can I get just the camera ring cover?
At the time of this post, I'm running original day 1 US model firmware (1.15.617.4), and prices were $14 for Ringke case, $8 for 3-pack TGSP, and $7.50 for the other cheap TPU case I mention a few times).
Case: Ringke Fusion-X
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07F2ZNFKZ/
TGSP: Mr. Shield 3-Pack (out of stock. may try another later, but it's definitely good enough for me)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D3LGZ7P/
CASE:
Case is really rugged without adding much bulk. Surprisingly slim even compared to the cheapo clear TPU case I also bought to try (Coohasisee brand). I like the design, leaves a nice view of the back of the phone. Cutouts are super precise and the edges/angles/design are really clean and sharp. The clear part of the case even has protective film on both sides that you peel yourself, making sure it's in perfect condition when you get it.
100% honestly, I think the cheap TPU case's corners have better cushioning, but that's a non-issue for me since I never drop my phones. While the cheaper case seems to actually have some cushioning, the Ringke appears to, but IMHO the case seems too solid to actually cushion from drops on the corners.
Funnily enough, using a case actually seems to make using the digital volume/power buttons more reliable. Without a case (or with the official HTC free case that comes with the phone), I would often mistakenly hit the power button without actually touching it. If my thumb/finger was just below the power button while I was handling the phone, it could accidentally trigger a power button press. Doesn't happen whenever I have a case on though. Edge sense also works great. Strangely, without a case, edge sense would go nuts - sometimes the lightest squeeze would start triggering edge sense while death grips wouldn't be enough. I dunno, I think maybe it was registering part of my hand (palm or fingertips) touching the edges of the screen while squeezing? Honestly it makes no sense to me. With the case though, it's as reliable as my U11 (I have it set to short squeeze camera, long squeeze flashlight). Double tapping is just... different. I have to tap differently. But truthfully, I really don't use double tap actions at all (yet).
TGSP:
Good enough for me. No bubbles, and edges stick down perfectly. Not lifting up at all like with my U11. Has good oleophobic coating. Only problem is I think it's like a fraction of a millimeter too narrow. I have the right side stuck PERFECTLY in line, and a very tiny bit of the left side isn't covered (all in terms of viewable area). I'm talking the width of maybe 3-4 hairs. Shame, because if the right side is stuck this perfectly, they could afford making it a bit wider and still not worry about the edges lifting. It's good enough for me though that I don't think I'm even going to try another unless it gets scratched or chipped. I installed it with absolutely no dust and lined up perfectly, so I don't feel like doing it again. Plus, I have 2 more since it was a 3-pack lol.
PICTURES!! Pics are very high resolution. Last 4 pics show the TGSP.

- Note, this isn't my permanent phone yet. Still using my U11 until TWRP and a nice ROM gets released. I still need to run Zelda A Link To The Past on an emulator and splice a new wallpaper with the new 1440x2880 resolution. My home screen normally looks much sweeter than the default Nova layout. =)
Attached some pics to the thread, but all pics I took are in the IMGUR link above.
You could have just written this very review in my case compilation threaded.
Why's no one searching - or better looking - before posting....
Sent from my HTC U12+ using XDA Labs
I'm thinking of getting the case myself. I HATE cases but this one might need it. Been a week and a half and haven't dropped it yet BUT still. The only thing is, I hate bulky cases which this looks like but you did say it's not. Maybe it's subjective idk.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I do search and the U12+ forums are pretty slow so far (but hopefully will get momentum soon, yay alpha TWRP builds!) and I felt like a new thread would be more fitting for a showing a decent case AND tempered glass setup that actually works pretty well. Your thread was a case compilation, which btw I have been following since before I even received the phone, but most people wouldn't glance at the topics expecting to see anything about TGSP's. I didn't see much on all the threads about decent tempered glass, especially one where the case doesn't wreck it, so I thought this post might help. I know the rules and do search. My post count is so low, despite being a member since 2006, because I usually search and find my answers instead of blindly asking, or I just tend to post what I think is useful stuff. Also, I lurk XDA much more than I post, and don't have much time to spend posting.
Speaking of which, I'll take this time to thank you for all your contributions too. Really, your firmware compilation threads and other contributions have been invaluable. I can see after what happened in your U11 firmware thread why you would be frustrated, but just believe me that I'm not as dumb as most ppl on the interwebs. q=D
PS: I copied/posted in your thread anyway, in case it might help anyone there. =)

It really isn't that bulky, especially compared to a "slim TPU" case. Maybe these photos might help. I happened to have a portable battery pack within reach that can hopefully help kind of gauge the size difference between cases / no case. Also, I since stuck a spigen kickstand on the Ringke Fusion-X case, FYI, so that's not normally there.
If you like the design and still want to show the nice back of the phone, I can't recommend it more highly.

I just got this same Rinke case with the same Spigen kickstand setup and like it very much except double tap sides does not work good. Using Cleanslate kernel improves all sensitivity on edge sense and the buttons but not so much for double tap sides. Great set up otherwise. Thanks for sharing.
Have this. Volume up key is finicky, otherwise I love it. I use the Orzero glass screen protector and it is almost perfectly flush.
I have the Ringke case too.. My only concern is the double tap function that is hard to activate, everything else is good, even the short/long squeeze
